I brought my daughter for a hair cut today I called ahead of time to know if they cut her type of hair. When we got there they took her to the chair and told me her hair was to thick to brush and it would take hours. I wanted them to shave the sides but they said the clippers would not work for her hair. Then they started discussing how to handle her hair in another language,after that they decided that it would take hours and they didnt want to have her for a client. They said we should go to an African American shop. My daughter wept and we left.πππThen we went to Great Clips.They took her and treated her like a human being needing a hair cut. Fantastic attitude and made her hair look great.I would never recommend this Fantastic Sams ever!!!!!!!

One Fantastic Samβs lied about us not having an appointment, then this one set us up for an appointment and made a lame excuse as to why they couldnβt do it when we showed up.we were going to give them a try since we hadnβt used them before, now We will never step foot in there again.

I tried calling for 2 hours to change my appointment (while they were supposedly open... theyre only doing appointments) and they never answered. Also, while my stylist did a good job, she took off much more than I wanted removed. Its taken me 2 1/2 years to grow my hair out and I only wanted a small trim, not 2 off.
Monica gave me the exact haircut I asked for, and it was done very quickly and efficiently. Had an appt. And she was ready when I arrived. I will be going back for sure and will be taking my husband too. Very happy!

Overpriced. Was quoted $200 for highlights, no explanation for the price justification other than each are independently owned. That may well be, but gouging customers when other locations charge almost half of this isnβt right. Staff was also rude and very unprofessional.

**DO NOT RECOMMEND** On Tuesday May 15,2018 I payed $102 plus a $10 tip for Monica to mess my hair up I showed her a picture of thin little layers and shoulder length hair. It came out awful I didnβt realize at the time because she didnβt blow dry my hair so when your hair is wet it looks fine. Once I got home I straightened my hair and I was so upset the first time I ever have put color in my hair, the highlights were thick my hair cut was so uneven the back of my hair looked so choppy. So I went and got it fixed Saturday May 19, 2018 at another place they were awesome they even curled my hair. ( I love it now) I payed another $108. So I then went to see if I could get my money back on Tue May 22, 2018 because $102 is a lot of money. Monica wasnβt there and because she is the owner the other women couldnβt refund me. I finally get a call today after calling a few times between then and now, from Monica May 29,2018 saying that she canβt refund me because I needed to go to her to fix it or look at it, that the rules of hair cuts state that you have to go back to the same person that ruined your hair in the first place. She also refuses to look at the pictures I have of the hair cut and color she gave me. I personally didnβt want to have her fix it and she was on vacation, I didnβt want to wait that long to get my hair fixed. I hope no one else comes here and loses out on money especially where n they have kids and bills to pay. She is very nice but nice doesnβt mean satisfied customer.

My regular person was not there and I was desperate. I had someone else cut my hair. She did an awesome job. I like my hair razor cut. Not everyone does a good job with a razor. Im very pleased

After trying different salons for the last 6 months I have found my GO TO. My first time at this salon. Mariah cut my hair after I told her my various experiences of other salons. She actually listened to what I wanted and by golly she did it.I love my haircut and thanks to Mariah she made me a come back client. She was terrific and thank you so much. I will see you soon.
The worst haircut in my life! I was in tears today! I went in for a trim and add layers. The lady chopped off a big chunk in the front, lost about 5 inches of my hair and it was not layered it was all choppy. I went back and asked for my money back so I can fix my hair somewhere else, but they offered for the owner to come and fix it. She agreed it was a horrible hair cut and her dresser should have never used a razor to make the layers. She tried her best to fix it but still not great because she didnt want to make it any shorter. Never go there for an adult haircut and do not let the lady with the short blond hair cut your hair. I think her name was Nancy. The owner however was nice enough to come to the salon on her day off to fix my hair. This is the location by Kohls.
Im absolutely amazed, as to all the bad reviews read on this particular Fantastic Sams. If we would had read them before, my wife and daughter wouldnt had experience damage on their hair, as pretty much they experienced the very same thing. They both went for a trim, color & perm and end up with badly damaged hair. Sadly, the only different is that neither my wife or daughter were able to get their money back. This woman, Monica is an awful business person, and for what I know, is like she has a business license to rip off people. She shouldnt be in business at all. I went on four a cut. Had a picture of exactly what i wanted. Was there for 2 hours. She ended up cutting my hair 3 times and it still looked nothing like i wanted! Will never go here again unless i just want my hair butchered!

Surprised when I walked in that this place was very small compared to the Fantastic Sams by the 303. Anyway, Monica checked me in and cut my hair after 10mins of wait, which is not bad. She cut my hair too short though and did not even looked as close as to the picture I showed her. After paying I waited for my receipt and she was like, Oh, you wanted your receipt? Uh yeah. Gave me my receipt only to find my name misspelled. How did Marie Woods became Maria Wuph? Seriously.
Manuella gave me an absolutely awesome perm and cut. She is very particular and thorough.
Went in and asked for a cut and style. Got a very young girl - Asked for a very layered cut. She cut off minimal hair for layering, and the style was abominable. Took her forever to blow dry - kept sectioning hair off and blowing small amount at a time. Finally finished and I told her I wanted more volume on top - she didnt know how to do it, so another stylist came over and vigorously blew the top over again. Still went home looking worse than when I went in. There was no style to it whatsoever. If you go to this location, dont let the young girl do your hair.

Awful!!! I had 2 horrible haircuts and highlights that wash out after a few days. The last highlights burned my hair and is now breaking off. Plus the highlights look dull and old! I was robbed of my money for what I got and WILL NOT go back! My advice....stay away from this place. .they dont know what theyre doing! They dont deserve a one star!!!

When I saw my girlfriends hair cut, I was like what the hell!! This salons staff is unprofessional for sure. Even in pet smart salon girls cut pets hair much better. Stupid staff.

Monica Vacatello, is the inexperienced business owner of this facility for under a year. The majority of her clientele was stollen from the former Fantastic Sams where she worked at. Monica, does not have experience herself as a business owner, on professional hair styling, color or perms, and refuses to learn or to correct the mistakes and damages constantly made by herself and her inexperienced personnel. Monica specializes strictly on short cuts for Senior Citizens, as according to her own statement senior citizens are the customers that complaints the least, besides they pay with a coupon. All the personnel Monica ever has hired since she opened up Fantastic Sams at 13980 W Bell Rd #15, are deficient, irresponsible, unreliable, inexperienced, only 1 of them and Monica graduated from an actual hair cutting school and not from a very reliable one. Most girls that work there dont even have 6 months of experience, theyre young, high school drop outs, and have no goals to attend a real or reliable beauty school, so Monica allows them to practice there without experienced supervision from anyone, not even her own supervision, as she hardly has experience and/or the knowledge. Basically, Monica Vacatello lets her employees practice to cut hair on the clientele. WE, the clientele are being used by Monica and her employees as their guinea pigs. Monica shouldnt be in business of hair styling, color or perms. MONICA misuses her business license to cheat, rip off people and to damage peoples hair. Absolutely no stars from us for Monica Vacatello.
Stopped in on a whim for a cut and decided to get some highlights put in. Big mistake Mariah did my color and it is terrible. My roots look grown out at least 6weeks, the tone is an orange color, the streaks are inconsistent, one side just looks solid blonde. My layers arenβt blended well and didnβt even get the signature scalp massage with the wash. I wish I would of read the reviews before going in.
My hair was wavy-40 long w/picture in hand of what I wanted, went to FantasticSam@13980 W Bell Rd#15,SurpriseAZ, to trim, perm & color my hair burgundy. An inexperienced 18yr girl/Robin damaged my hair permanently. I end up w/NO curls, uneven cut & looked like Ronald McDonald mom, my hair was bright red/orange. I immediately complaint to Monica/owner, she claimed would fix my color asap, she mixed 2 other colors, applied it, but my hair came out orange/brown, NOT burgundy as Iβve asked & paid for. By then, I had been there 6hrs. Monica knew my dissatisfaction & offered me to return in 2 weeks to re-treat & re-do my perm for free, as she would personally take care of me. It wasnt until after Ive agreed & have paid for, that she revealed to me Robin had no experience on color or perms & had just graduated from beauty school 2 weeks prior. 2 days later, my hair felt like chewed gum, I began loosing balls of hair, and slipped off just by passing my hands through it. Without waiting the 2 weeks, I returned to see Monica & demanded a refund. Monica is a con that brain washes clients, she said not to worry, my hair would go back to normal, my hair needed time to relax from the perm/chemicals, she would say anything to avoid refunds. She suggested I return in 1 month, even set my apt. with/her. I continue to loss hair, spots of boldness over my head became noticeable, Ive cried daily, I was angry & upset for allowing them to ruined my hair, but regardless of my calls to her, she always gave me B.S. One month later, I showed up to my appt, coincidently Monica was on vacation, I was told another girl was assigned to do my perm, as soon after she washed my hair, the girl stopped to make a call? returned to my chair & handed me the phone saying the owner wanted to talk to me, at that time Monica stated her employee reported to her that my hair was extremely damaged & exposing it to a 2nd perm would be drastic. Again, Monica asked me to return in 1 month, as she would personally take care of me, so another apt. was set w/Monica. The 2nd month pass by, I returned and guess what?.. Monica is on vacation again, being that only Robin & another girl were there, I refused for either one to touch my hair. I asked when was Monica returning from vacation, both claimed they didnt know, having no choice, I left. Next day I called Monica again, I was told she was still on vacation. I then asked my husband call pretending to be a client needing a hair cut w/Monica, he was given an appt w/Monica within in 1hr. My husband & I showed up, Monica pretended not knowing who I was, as soon as I said I want my money back, she made us wait for 40min. Once 2 clients left the place, very rudely approached us and had the audacity to belittled me in front of my husband & her employees, literately began to diagnose me as if she was a physician, and stated to me: youre losing hair due to age, lack of hormones, a possible illness, decease or even perhaps due to medication you may be taking, you shouldnβt blame us for losing your hair. By then, Im ready to tell her off, but without giving her another chance to continue insulting me. I clearly demanded my money back, $280 for the hair cut, color & perm, $50 on tips & $60 on product I purchased, total=$390. Giving me all excuses, insisted to attempt convincing me to return to re-do my perm, the color, treatment etc. I simply said I want nothing with you, if you donβt refund my money now, Ill see an attorney, Ill report you, your business & your personnel to the Better Business Bureau & the Consumer Affair, as youre ripping off clients and intimidate them to be affraid to speak up. As soon I said that, she said she needed to make a call, went to the back & returned to the counter with a Chase personal check, made out payable to me for $440.07 including taxes. I took picture of the check & went directly to Chase to cash it before she could cancel it. This was my WORST experience ever!! ~Damn you Monica@Fantastic Sams~shut business down~go to hell and sale tacos there instead~
