Sales people here are very pushy. While I understand they are trying to make a sale, I believe they should respect peoples boundaries. If a potential customer is saying no to financing they have a reason. It makes a difference in whether or not theyll return.

Initially, I gave RK a 5 star review. After finally getting delivery on the truck, the salesperson should get a 5 star, and if I could give a negative review for the rest of the experience I would. We were treated well by the sakeseperson. Heather was able to assist my daughter select a few trucks for me to make sure they would be able to do the multitude of things she expects this truck to be able to do over the next several years.We finally decided on a 2007 GMC SIERRA 2500HD 4x4. An inaccurate KBB printout showed the trucks value at $19000, an accurate one we saw after closing the deal at $14,500 showed the actual KBB at closer to $16,000.The sales manager played games with my daughter, and rushed her off to the bank to get a cashiers check promising her the truck would be ready to go that evening. Demanded immediate payment, and then could/would not produce the truck as promised.The state inspection was expired, and although the service department was still open, we were told (after making us wait over an hour and a half) that it would be first in line to be inspected in the morning. What a lie!We werent able to pick up the truck until after 3PM (causing my daughter to be late for work). And that was after several calls where no one was available, or knew what was going on, etc. to the used car department.After driving away, we noticed a couple of things that now make us believe this was rubber stamp inspection.I NEVER RECCOMMEND PURCHASING A USED VEHICLE AT RK CHEVEROLET.

Took my car there for a oil change, tune up and front brakes replaced. They had to keep my car overnight because the brakes system seized when they were replacing the front brakes. Got my car back the next day and it sounded horrible!! I was getting any power and shifting delayed. So I pop the hood and noticed that they broke the air filter casing. The screws were striped and the top cover was open allowing unfiltered air into my automobile which caused me to lose power and made my car shift hard. Never again will I take my car there for anything!!!

Had an 03 vehicle serviced. The mechanics kept me up to speed with diagnostics and what parts needed to be fixed/ replaced. I have a sour taste in my mouth with a lot of dealership mechanics, but these guys turned it around for me. I really appreciate their enthusiasm, honesty and the fact they do care about the job they do.

Went to look at a used truck for my 72 year old mom that they had an ad for online. I brought her with me. First of all we were surprised that nobody came outside to meet us. I cant remember the last time I went to a car lot and they didnt think it was necessary to step outside to meet a customer. We went inside and nobody spoke to us for several minutes. There was literally nobody in the showroom anywhere. Just before I was ready to just go somebody popped their head out of an office and asked if we needed help. We told them we had an appointment with their salesman and told her his name. Then instead of them contacting the salesman we were to meet or helping us find him they said ...oh hes around back, you can find him in the back part of the lot. Again, no help whatsoever. Anyway, we spoke on the phone about the vehicle and were told it was in great condition by the salesman and judging by the photo they provided, a like new silver gmc 4×4, The truck did look great. Unfortunately that was not the photo of the truck, we found out. The truck for sale was not even a 4×4 or even silver. It was white and looked really roughed up. We asked why would they use a picture of a completely different model and color for a truck they are trying to sell?? He said ohh... they use stock photos. Ok so he lied and told us the truck was in great condition on the phone and we drove 45 minutes to look at a truck that did not match the description in any way. Personally I will never think of them as a place to get an honest deal. Not one thing was true about the picture or what the salesman said about the vehicle. The staff up front didnt seem like they cared if a vehicle was bought or not. Seriously I do not know how they continue to do business. Amazing.

*Update* TWO WEEKS and still no response from the owner who commented on my original review. Seems like the feedback on these reviews is just for show. Ive since obtained my state inspection at Firestone complete auto care, where they assured me that my brakes were within specification. This place is unbelievable.While very friendly, they will fail your vehicle on a state inspection with no warning. I was told my rear brakes were AT 2/32 (the minimum amount to pass inspection) and the shop recommended replacement. I didnt have the $400 on hand and am familiar with the inspection passing criteria. Upon getting into my car I found a REJECTION sticker on it, which they refused to change. They marked my brakes as

First, I want to give a big thank you to Mr. Gregory Reynolds’s, GM. (5 Stars to Greg only)My experience with RK Subaru all started with my son, a young inexperience car buyer who went to RK Used Auto Sales to look at a used 2013 Subaru after a hit n run driver caused his previous car to be totaled out. He’s excited to get another vehicle, and he ended up signing paperwork for “as is”. He didn’t realize at the time what this meant and when he finally received the car it was total disappointment. My son showed this car to a friend who was getting ready to go to RK to look at vehicle to buy. His friend quickly changed his mind about buying a vehicle from RK and ended up purchasing elsewhere. His friend couldn’t believe that this dealership would sell my son a vehicle that looked this bad. The car did have a Covid cleaning, but that was all. The battery looked like it could cause the car to not start and the overall appearance and price for what he had spent was not what I expected from RK. My first thought was that how much money he had spent on this vehicle. This made me very upset so I went to the dealership to talk to them about it. I was directed to Greg who explained that since he signed “as is” nothing else was legally required from them. But, Greg turned around the situation, understanding that my son was inexperienced in buying a car. Greg had the battery acid cleaned up, the engine pressure washed, the heavy oxidation removed from headlights, tried to get rid of scratches in back window and inside and out detailed, included two oil changes and a state inspection. I see why Greg is the General Manager, he understands the value of customer service and cares about the reputation of this company. Plus, since I had to wait while my sons car was being cleaned up Greg let me test drive a 2020 Outback so I wouldn’t have to wait at the dealership. When I returned to pick up my son’s car, Greg had his 2013 Subaru parked outside in front of the show room, it was a unexpected surprise. Because of Gregs actions of going above and beyond for customer service for my son and me I feel confident that I would highly still consider purchasing a new Subaru in the future from this dealership. My son is very happy with the outcome of his purchase and finally has his well deserved excitement of his car. I personally believe when a company sends out a vehicle in this shape that it hurts a business’s reputation. It should be mandatory or at least offered to the customer to have a complete cleaning and detailing of a vehicle for the sake of a company’s reputation of their business and for customer satisfaction. I only have 2 stars, because of the used sales department not giving my son any type of warranty included with the purchase price and selling the vehicle “as is”. Get it together Used Car Department put yourself in your customer’s position. If it wasn’t for Greg I would of gave 1 Star.

I am going to warn you that this review will be full of detail, so bear with me. I promise you, that you will find it very helpful. I gave it 2 stars because of its affiliation with Subaru and Steve Montgomery who is wonderful.When we recently drove by a gorgeous 2017 Toyota Tacoma with a custom shell and Yakama racks sitting in the used car lot at RK Auto Group, we were immediately interested. Mind you, we did not NEED a truck, and were not LOOKING for a truck, especially since we just purchased a new Outback from RK Subaru in 2017. But we just couldn’t stop thinking about it, so we went in. We called “Subaru Steve” who helped us when we bought the Subaru. He was very nice and trustworthy, plus he has sent constant reminders that he wants to sell us the latest and greatest. He was still with a customer when we arrived so he asked one of his colleagues to help us. We walked over to the Used Car side, and we now had two salesmen helping us. We test drove the truck and fell in love, despite the truck having over 70K miles. The internet price advertised for 30K was somehow now 33K, and when questioned, it was some spiel about how they estimate you will be getting $3K for your trade. So with our trade worth $5.8K in equity, the financing somehow still came to be 38K. No matter the concerns I voiced, the pushy sales manager had a rebuttal. I had concerns with the high miles, “yeah, but it’s a Toyota. They hold their value more than anything else”. I had concerns about the high monthly costs coupled with the number of years, “yeah, but it’s only $5 more than you pay now”. Ok, but why the 75 month loan and not a 72 month loan? “You want 72 months, I will make it 72 months”. Really?? The pushy sales manager would not even let us see how he came up with those numbers. We left to think about it and to try to work out the numbers they proposed. No matter how we worked them, the numbers never made sense and led to one thing. They were trying to screw us.The next night we went to Priority Toyota and found a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, this one with leather, a sunroof, heated seats and only 18K miles. Plus we got the bumper to bumper warranty for life since this was still considered a new car. When we walked away we paid $876 less than the one at RK Auto Group.New lessons learned: When your gut says things do not make sense, walk away. When you go to a used car lot, expect everything bad you have ever heard about the “used car salesman”.

AWESOME!!! Honest and straightforward, had inventory. I live blocks away from Perry/First Team Subaru which I had called first and they were none of the above. When I explained my situation and the urgency they said they didnt have it without even looking it up despite their website saying they had 2 in stock. It was an inexpensive part and I guess it just wasnt worth the effort to walk back into their warehouse to get it. When I asked if there was another local Subaru dealer they said not really the closest one was in Newport News. I knew Id seen on in VA Beach before (RK) as well as one in Chesapeake but was told she didnt know anything about these in a very curt tone that led me to believe she knew exactly where I was talking about so I just hung up and checked online and of course she had lied. So I called RK and they could not have been more helpful! Patrick (I think that was his name) said the computer showed 1 in stock but had me hold on to make sure he could put his hands on it and hed would put it aside for me. The woman from Perry/First Team would not even check the computer much less would she have walked back there to see if there was one despite me telling her that their online store showed that they have them in stock. Then lied about other dealerships existing in the area. If I could give RK Subaru 100 Stars I would and will go there whenever I need a part or am ready for a new car! As far as Perry/First Team and their lying, lazy, unpleasant, and incompetent phone woman, I wouldnt buy a valve stem from them.

This 5 star rating is for the service department. Have always been treated well here with a very knowledgeable staff that will answer my questions. A lot of people wont want to get service done at the dealership but the technicians here are specialists in what they do and with Subaru specifically so Ive always felt comfortable since they know what they are looking at when they open the hood.

Estimate for an express lube and tire rotation was $43.66. Without any other communication ended up being charged just over $70. Called the Service Department to recommend changes to their business practice as I do not feel this is a fair practice (and am pretty sure small claims court would agree) and was told the best they could do was to say they were sorry for the miscommunication. Pretty disappointing experience overall. I bought my 2009 Silverado new from this dealership and have had good and bad experiences over the years, but this is likely the last time Ill seek their services or business.

We bought our car at RK and loved the sales service, especially our salesman Anthony Vonner. But we are extremely upset about the service department and the way we have been treated has us strongly reconsidering buying our next Subaru from here.Our car has failed inspection over LED lights and we were quoted $115 to take them out. We will be taking our car to a generic chain store where we have passed twice without issues. The battery in my vehicle has had issues but the mechanics state it is fine. When asked about the battery the mechanic states it needs to be charged, which is what the alternator is for. It is a daily driven vehicle which means the alternator charges it constantly. When we called the mechanic out on this fact, they said that we were actually right, so what they said now makes no sense to us?We took the vehicle in weeks ago for flickering lights and they said the same thing to us. My husband, an ASE mechanic, was contacted by the customer service manager and he explained his disappointment. She claimed she would follow up with him and never did. That’s terrible customer service we would have never expected from RK Subaru.As faithful customers and once-lovers of RK, we are extremely disappointed.

My husband and I came in there earlier today and Chris helped us looking for a suv and I told him right off the start I don’t want my credit pulled and I’m not looking to purchase today. I test drove one I liked and he didn’t even let me look around more until I had to ask. We then went inside and he was asking us our information and I asked him right then and there if he was pulling our credit. He immediately said no, it was just an application. He then got all our information made us sign a paper and didn’t say one word about it and left the room to go speak to his manager. My sales agent Kevin C was courteous but more focused on selling me a car without a good price tag. I dont feel like my interests were met.The sales director is dismissive and rude after you buy a car fro RK Chevrolet used cars.... Devon Harri, will not give you much attention for voicing complaints and concerns. He will belittle you and instigate an u professional type of confrontation in his office. Then he turns on a charming demeanor before you exit. I think he needs medication and mental assistance.

RK always does honest work. My car is a priority bought vehicle where I can receive free oil and state inspections, but I go to RK because they do better work even though I have to pay for it. The service is completed relatively quickly for maintenance items(oil, inspection, new tires, etc). At priority I would waste almost an entire day(5+ hours) in the waiting area just for a simple oil change.

Horrible service all around. I purchased a vehicle 10/20/18, the car had just been traded in and had a few scratches (normal wear & tear). Was advised it will take a week to fix everything. Two weeks had gone by and no update. I called many times and was given the run around. Here is it a month later 11/27/18 and I am still without my vehicle.Due to the salesperson not returning my calls I reached out to someone in the service department. Who advised my car was ready last week. No one called to tell me this. When I arrived to check my car I noticed NOTHING was fixed. The seat and floor mats had not been cleaned. The scratches were still there. This is the worst experience ever. I warn you to stay away. I’ve reached out about my complaints and no one has returned my call. Hopefully the review will get their attention.

Very rude. They gave us the newest guy to the team, and because of that we couldnt test drive what cars we were interested in. When we drove up, nobody came outside, i had to go inside and ask for someone to come outside and help us, and the man at the desk was very snooty with me. I would not buy a car here if my life depended on it. Go to priority instead.
