The service guy John does not know how to treat a customer or talk to them. Should be fired. Do not leave you vehicle with them to have tires put on it will take all day. They had mine for 8-/2 hrs and still not started. Took 9-3/4 hrs to get it done. Then tried to get me to buy new lug nuts for $250. Really? Don’t spend your hard earned money at this place.

Chaney Tire has got to be the BEST tire shop in all of the North Country.My journey to Chaney Tire started at Mavis Tire actually where I had set up an appointment to get my rim changed on my tire. I was told to come in at 5:15 and I would be in and out in about 30 minutes. So later on that day I arrived at 5 oclock to drop off my truck and the new rim.The guy at the counter was very rude in his tone and overall attitude. He made me feel like I did not matter. After he took down all my information he looked up and told me it was going to be a 2 in a half HOUR WAIT!!!I explained to him that I had set up the appointment and he said that it didnt matter and I would have to wait. I then explained the things that I had to get done that evening and he told me, Oh well, you can have a seat and we will get it in when we can. That was unimaginably rude. After this I took my business to Chaney tire, just a little further down the road. Unlike Mavis, these people were extremely nice and were able to squeeze me in and stayed after there closing time to get my truck done in omly 22 minutes. I could not be more satisfied with Chaney Tire.While it is a little further down the road, go to Chaney Tire instead of Mavis Discount Tire, you WILL NOT be disappointed. 😁

I went to Mavis Tire after making a reservation and ordering my tires online. I arrived to Mavis at my assigned time and they told me they did not have my reservation...... I told them to reorder my tires and I would go back. They then proceeded to tell me they do not carry the brand of tire I ordered. The guy at the counter tried to sell me on $150 tires. I declined and called Cheney. I was greeted on the phone with a very nice hello that sounded sincere. I then talked to Joel to get me into my tires. He was very helpful and so were the guys at the service desk. Very nice atmosphere and great people. I will do all my car needs at Cheney’s going forward-Zachary L.

Cheney is by FAR the best place to have any type of upgrades put on you truck, Jeep, SUV, etc. Joel is the subject matter expert on everything. He is bar far the best in business. Would recommend this place to anyone that wants quality work done on their vehicle.

Came for a tire plug took over 4 hours.

Bought tires and had them installed. Had a small mishap with the size and they fixed the problem super quick.

I have previously did business with them for tires and recently needed some brake work. I called the first time and got a quote of 160 then called back to get a new quote for brakes asking if they used the cheapest possible brake pads and my quote went up to 240 i ended up going to another place in town and got more work done for less than that.

They got me in and replaced my tire in no time flat very polite

Great when you can get work done. They will not put you on a schedule for an oil change, so you have to show up and either wait an hour or more, or drop off the vehicle. Theyre my favorite shop in terms of quality and value, but I cant keep driving back and forth hoping they can work on my truck today. All Im asking for is a schedule, guys.

Would give more stars if I could. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff in ALL departments. Joel, Chris, John, and Tom all go above and beyond in customer service and satisfaction. Tom really knows tires. I have purchased tires elsewhere for my car and every winter found the car to slide or get stuck. I needed new tires and Tom recommended some and i went ahead and purchased them. For the first time in the 7 years I have owned my car I didnt slip or slide or get stuck in the snow this year even with all of the bad storms we had this past winter. Cheney Tire is the only place I will take my vehicle now. Theyve been in business for a long time and really know their stuff. They also stand behind their products and services.

For years Cheney tire has had an air of,well get to you when were ready. Prices are high, but service has always been top notch once the get you in. Bring a book and expect to sit at least an hour wate for service. Power Equipment department very knowledgeable and many hard to find parts in stock at fair prices.

Bought a tire they got right in and out in a timely manner the staff there are fantastic

I had an Ag tire (r4 18 x8.5-10) that had a puncture in it. I took it to their store and they were not able to plug the hole but they were able to insert a tube and problem solved. Had they not been able to repair it, they had tires in stock to replace it.

Quick to get an inspection done although not sue why he took it for a ride around the block first. But other than that fairly quick

I went to Cheney Tire because I had several dash lights come on suggesting I take my car to the dealer. The mechanic used a scanner tool to find out what the problem was. Within minutes they determined it was a vacuum leak on the gas cap. No expensive repair needed. Thank you to all at Cheney Tire

Coming home from our vacation in the Thousand Islands we had issues with our boat trailer tire. Instead if chancing it with driving all the way home we decided to just replace it. Cheneys took us immediately ! Everyone I met was extremely friendly. The tires were a great price and they were very knowledgable. DO NOT GO HERE! First of all TERRIBLE customer service! Second I went there to get a tire mounted. Two days later a bolt pops off my wheel while Im driving. Coincidence? I think not. On top of that I check the other google reviews, and other people have had this problem! They refused to acknowledge that they messes up. Avoid at all costs! Ruined a perfectly good BMW!

This is the only place I bring any of my vehicles. I have lived in the area all my life and its the only place I use. Here is my experience. I had an issue with power steering leaking. 2 other places said I needed a complete replacement no repair was possible. They estimated over $500. Cheney only replaced what was needed and it cost less than $250. I will always use them. They are locally owned and the owners work there not just run the books.

Was referred by another busy in Watertown cause they had an issue with the tire balancer. Called ahead cause it was a Saturday morning and the service desk picked and I tried to explain till I was interrupted and was ask “ well why can’t they just do it what’s wrong with your truck”. Then told me first come first serve and hung up on me. I drove down to the shop the man at the service counter seemed irritated for one that I was there two that I wanted to wait with my truck. ( I have no other means of transportation to go anywhere). I waited about an hour and forty minutes and the truck was done. I get my keys I pay And i go for a test drive. My issue with my truck is that it has a really bad shake at about 60 mph. So I take it on 81 and first thing a POW from my front end and then a little further down the road again a POW. I pull over check the rims and it threw the new weights they put on for the balance. I drive back to the shop explained what happen and the man at the service counter laughed at me and said “that couldn’t be the case that never happens” I hand him the keys and go to the waiting room. They put new weights on it. I get to my truck it is now covered in grease from all over the door handle to my seats and steering wheel. truck tires still feel out of balance. I do not recommend this place do to the unprofessionalism and the quality of work.

Ok ! When u enter to the auto shop and u see more than 4 mechanic, just run away. Like everything around here overpriced. Customer service could be better, but u get used to the north country treatment. $ 75 for front wheels alignment just a robbery

Cheney Tire is excellent. First of all, they are honest! Which is a big deal with many other auto shops trying to cheat you or cut corners given the tough economy. Second, they are really knowledgeable and very helpful.

Local place that treats you fairly. Theres a waiting area that includes snack and drink machines, a tv and even some trucks for kids to play with to keep them entertained while you wait.Cheney tire is the only place in Watertown that I could find to have Nitrogen for tires.Its a local spot that feels like its family owned. I dont know that as a fact but the customer service is great. They have mechanics of a variety of ages who can work on newer model cars as well as classics.It certainly wont hurt you to give them a call or stop by. And it wont be a waste of your time.Last point; they have tires, yes. But they also have outdoor power equipment like lawnmowers and snow blowers.

Get my tires and my my season change overs done usually at Cheney Tire. If I visit Watertown, I go there for them again. Quality tires and great advice.

$160 dollars for a job that Sears and other places do for $60. If you have low profile tires and nice wheels; all the shops around the Watertown/Fort Drum area will send you here because apparently they are the only ones with the right equipment that wont mess nice looking wheels. After it was all said and done, there were signs of damage on the wheels, but nothing what I would consider lawsuit material and ended up paying out the kazoo for mounting and balancing four tires. Word of caution - this store charges you based on your wheel size and wheel profile.

I should have trusted my own instinct rather than their professional advice... Tires dont fit my vehicle after I was assured there would be no problems, now I have grinding and rubbing in my fender wells that Ill have to get fixed or try to fix myself. Plus my tire pressure sensors are acting up, either damaged or missing, which Im sure the dealer will charge me to replace once I have them troubleshoot the problem. Beware... Youve been warned!!

Cheneys saved the day!! I was in a dilemma. I made an appointment to install new BFG KO2s in Eastern Ontario, Canada 2 weeks in advance. The day before the appointment I called to confirm the appointment and was advised the tires where on backorder until the end of December. I called a variety of other tire dealers in eastern Ontario and Toronto and they confirmed the tires were on backorder. I called Cheneys who confirmed they have the exact tire I was looking for in stock and despite a last minute phone call on a Saturday following a winter storm they were able to accommodate. Thanks to Chris and all the staff. Very impressive.

Dont trust the positive reviews here! I bought four wheels and tires from them. After the install I had a vibration they could never identify now another shop has found it is from a bent rim. Chimney also managed to use two different lugs and they were not the recommended lugs for my wheels. There service also likes to argue with customers and sell them crap products that are marked up much higher than any where else.

Although a bit high on price the service was great from beginning to end and we were given and notified of all deals available.
