They have a very nice staff, and it was surprisingly quick. If youre covid conscious, the doctor is virtual, and you have to wear a mask until the other girls walk out of the room. The entire experience was pretty cool. I got the 2 frames for $59.95 special with a free exam. 😁👍 You get 4 columns total to choose from with that special, but at the time i went, those were pretty cool.

I work a lot of hours so my husband always tries to find ways to save me time. I lost a $400 pair of brand new glasses and so Im shy at spending that kind of money again. My husband found Stanton optical two pair for one low price. Told me to go in pick them out Id probably get them the same day. And guess what I did. Julie at the front desk was super nice super helpful and super efficient. Not a lot of customer service like that these days. Thank you so much for allowing me to see again and not costing me an arm and a leg. Oh and both sets of frames are super cute!

I love that the staff here are COVID conscious but in a polite manner. It made me feel confident in my health and well being without feeling intruded on!The 2 pairs of glasses for $60 is a great deal, and while the selection for that deal is small I always am able to find two pairs that are my style.The staff here are very nice! I did not feel rushed at all when picking out my glasses which I really appreciated. I will keep coming here for as long as I live in Wilmington, and you should too! Especially if you’re a college student looking for a deal.

I heard good things about Stanton Optical. So I took my girls to get glasses. My daughter glasses broke within a week of getting them. I took them back. But the strange thing is the glasses broke in the same place 3 times. I said the older lady why the glasses keep breaking get the same place? The older lady blamed me daughter for her glasses being broken. And thats not true. Her glasses broke a total of 3 times. I will not drive 2 1/2 hours for nothing. Save your money do buy from here.

My wife has an accident causing her seeing eye glasses to join the little fishies in the big ocean. We were scrambled over finding a same day solution for glasses and an exam because she was the only one who could drive us back home from vacation. Stanton Optical was the only place in Wilmington able to see her as soon as they open. Online appointment setup was easy. We had glasses on her face and was heading back to the beach in less than 2 hours. The people were great too. Everyone was understanding and welcomed us with a smile. We will be looking in the future to see if they have a location where we live so we can get the same type of experience again.

Not at all satisfied with my visit. Had a virtual eye exam, that went well, but when I picked up my glasses, the prescription was way off. Made an appointment to have an another exam, but instead, pretty much tried to tell me that they were only a little off. They took my old glasses to the back to do measurements, and when I started home, I realized that they had a deep scratch which was not there when I handed them over. So dissapointed, but will not be going back.

Great experience!!!! Lost my glasses at fort fisher came in the next day and Julie took care of me I was in and out with new prescription glasses made in house in less then 2 hours! Will be back.

After finding out that not only was my exam overdue at my previous eye doctors office but then also hearing they couldn’t see me for OVER a month, I had a friend tell me to check out Stanton optical. I called and was immediately offered an appointment on my day of choice. The service once I arrived was polite, helpful and fast. As for the bill... I almost fell out of my chair!! An exam, glasses, and a years worth of contacts for just under 300! Super simple, super nice! My previous eye doctor can keep the “package” I paid for and I’ll keep my business here!

My wife lost her glasses at the beach and we really needed a pair for her. Stanton got her 2 pairs of frames and lenses in around an hour with a short staff. Amazing service, the staff was a joy to work with, and hope to visit this state again just for their service

Amazing!! Walked in on the dot at my appointment time, was taken straight back and had the exam started! From start to finish was MAYBE 12 minutes. TO STANTON OPTIONAL MANAGEMENT: Allison was very knowledgeable, patient and sweet; she definitely needs a raise!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR RESOURCES! Unless you prefer McDonalds or Taco Bell verses a real restaurant. Total waste of time and my very limited resources.After reading the reviews I decided to go ahead and keep my appointment with Staton Optical. The reviews were more on customer service than quality of exam or how well the prescription worked for the patient. To be honest most places have poor customer service these days....I am used to it. I did not go in with high expectations.1. The eye exam - The tech never asked how my current prescription worked. If I had any problems. She barely said her name and told me what she was doing. Again, poor very poor customer service or patient care. She took me to another room, told me to sit down in the chair, the doctor will appear on the screen. WHAT! Appear on the screen? Okay, I just went with it. The doctor did not say anything except tell me which is better 1 or 2. I spent more time trying to understand her with her VERY heavy accent than I did figuring out 1 or 2. Again, poor very poor customer service or patient care. I worked in South Florida for a number of years and in the ophthalmology field for years, I am used to accents.2. After the exam - The tech that helped me with the glasses was ok. More of a sales person who really did not care than an optician who did care. I spent 40 minutes looking at frames and then brought them to her. No help what so ever with choosing the correct frames, etc. She said you can pay such and such for the exam and one pair of glasses and get the second half off or buy one pair of glasses, get a free exam and a free pair of glasses.....$500 later I have two pair of glasses I cant use!!! THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART......After the second visit back to the store and being told I need another exam to have the prescription fixed I said NO I would like a full refund. I am not wasting more of my time and resources driving back and forth a total of 25 miles one way to wait for two more pairs of glasses I cant use. The sales person said the regional manager will call me today. That was 3:00 on Monday now 10:00 on Tuesday still no call from the regional manager.3. I guess I should add when I picked my glasses up I told the lady one pair is fine and the second pair is not. I almost fell twice while wearing them. I was sitting down almost fell out of a chair!!! What would have happened if I walked around like she suggested? I asked her to check the prescription she said she did and it was the size of the lens. She LIED! She never checked the prescription. It was me I need to get used to them. I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years. I know when the prescription is correct right away and when it isnt. She acted like I was 3 years old.....very very very offensive. Again, poor very poor customer service, poor patient care.PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO AND HAVE AN EXAM AT STANTON OPTICAL..............DO NOT DO IT!!! Its like going to McDonalds for a burger instead of a 5 star restaurant. It may be fast, cheap and taste distant but afterwards you are sick all day and wonder why you did it.Bottom line: Customer service is very poor and glasses are still just as expensive. Dont do it, just go see a real doctor at a real office and spend a little more money for a prescription you can use and not waste your personal time and resources.

I made a eye appointment online and had to wait 30 min past my time. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and they told me 2 weeks... NOW ITS GOING ON 3 WEEKS! Still nothing! I do not recommend this place.

I received sunglasses from this location in the beginning of the summer. Julie one of your managers took care of me and suggested a style that I had no idea would work so well for my needs. They fit better then any sunglasses Ive ever had before and they look fantastic on me. It was a superb recommendation. She made sure to follow up with a few weeks later as well to make sure everything was going alright. Im buying my sunglasses strictly from your location from now on.

Everyone was really nice, had covid regulations in place, was kinda strange talking to a doctor through zoom but got taken care of and it only took an hour total including me pouring over the glasses.

Not impressed. This company doesnt accept my insurance but I went with them anyways just to get it over. Later, when I no longer needed prescription in my glasses and brought them back to change out the lenses, they wanted more money than I paid for both pairs originally and the original exam fee! In the future, Ill pay the five dollar copay somewhere else and get my glasses from zenni online from now on.

I went I to Stanton Optical for a routine eye exam and found out I had cataracts in both eyes with the right eye being the worse. The manager Julie recommended an eye doctor to get the cataracts removed. I had the eye surgery done and now I can see 20/20 in both eyes! I cant thank Julie enough for the referral !She had her patients best interest at heart! I would recommend anyone to Stanton Optical where their patients come first!

Cheap because its telemedicine. Thats no big deal though, thorough exam. Waited about 10 minutes without being greeted because the associate was on break without coverage. Another patron warned me to go elsewhere. Staff was nice enough. There was one set I liked but they werent what I wanted. I was going to look at other stores, and if I didnt find anything I liked better, Id be back. I vocalized this to the coordinator during checkout. They refused to provide me with PD unless I purchased from them. I really dont appreciate the bullying sales tactics. Definitely wont return or recommend.

This reviews has positive and negative factors. First, the staff here is fantastic, especially Colleen and Julie. They couldnt have been more professional and pleasant. They did everything possible to give me what I needed. If I were reviewing only the store I would give it 5 stars.There are 2 items in the not so good category that pertains to the company. First, their advertising of 2 pair of glasses and an eye exam for $60 would be almost impossible to obtain in my opinion. My wife and I have pretty simple glasses. We bought 3 pair and they were almost $1000. Not sure what you get for $60.Next, the company made my lenses for my 2 pair twice and got it wrong both times - and in different ways. What was ok the first time was out the second, etc. I got a refund for the glasses but had to pay for the exam (thats the deal - no complaint) BUT I now have a prescription I have no confidence in.

Unbelievably incompetent. Do not go to this place. Go across the street and get your glasses there. Seriously these people are like the three stooges. Everything is coronavirus fault. Dont forget your mask or WILL get the stinkeye and shamed. Just tell the truth to customers and they appreciate more. I know when you are lying because I already know the answer. If I could give this business one star I would. Save your money and go elsewhere! When I first made my appointment, it was great. The women I talked to were friendly and professional. (I had to reschedule twice due to the pandemic.) I completely understand. So I finally get to have my appointment in early July and I am so excited due to needing new glasses and having run out of contacts months prior. What a waste! Before I get into my appointment, another client who was near the waiting room told me she wasnt happy with her visit. Oh dear. When I get into the exam room, the doctor was on a zoom call with me. No problem, I understand. But the doctor was unfriendly and rude. I had questions and she didnt answer one. I was having trouble seeing the chart. My eyes were acting weird. They have never done that during an eye visit before. I tried telling the doctor but she wouldnt listen. She just kept giving me this attitude and tone. I felt like the doctor was scolding me like a child. After the visit was over, the lady at the counter handed me my trial pair of my new contacts. I tried telling her that the prescription was wrong but she wasnt really listening to me. I tried telling her that prescription was better than my last prescription but my eyesight had gotten worse. All she said was this was the doctor prescribed. My eyesight had gotten worse from my last visit not better and so I needed stronger contacts! The prescription was close to my old one and I could see out my new trial pair of contacts so I just left unhappy. But before I left, I showed the woman at checkout that I had a special offer on my email. I was offered two free months of contacts and $50 off my glasses for something like $109-$129 dollars. My bill was going to be over $250!!! She said I had to buy the glasses to get the two months if contacts for free. Thats not what the email said and thats not what I was told on the phone or in person when I made the appointment. I confirmed so many times about that special offer! My friend also went and had a terrible experience! She got glasses and the wrong prescription too! A few weeks after my appointment, I received a survey on my visit so I told them I wasnt happy and never heard back from them to fix it so thats why I left this review.

I had the pleasure of finding this gem of an optical store, here in Wilmington, NC! I spent years going to Americas Best as I used to live in Oregon. But, now that I have found Stanton Optical, I am never going back to Americas Best. They have really good prices for beautiful frames in all shapes and sizes! Plus, if your prescription isnt too strong, you can get your glasses the same day, and sure enough I got two pairs about 45 minutes later. It was AMAZING! When I went in to see the Optometrist, She was on a big screen television and she could operate everything from wherever she was! It was the coolest thing. That way she can work from home, maybe? I dont know, but it was neat! Everyone there was super helpful and nice. I had asked for honest opinions on the glasses I was trying on. They gave it to me! I wasnt going to get my feelings hurt by it at all. It was really nice to meet everyone and get glasses the same day. The customer service there was impeccable, and I will DEFINITELY be going back again!! Thanks, Stanton Optical! You guys rock!! Oh! One more thing! The music selection there was upbeat and classic rock, for the most part! With some Gun n Roses mixed in! Cant go wrong with that!

I had a full exam which was pretty high tech with a remote refractionist?? That did my exam. My new glasses are far superior to my old progressives. Loving my new look and I can see again!

No lie the worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. There’s not even an actual doctor there they talk to you over a computer screen. I told them from the beginning what brand of contacts I’ve always used. They tried to force me to get a different pair. When I said I’ve tried the pair and they didn’t work for me they told me if I wanted it switched I would have to do the eye exam all over again. Which 1, would be more money. And 2, makes no sense. And then proceeded to tell me I still had to pay for the prescription even tho it was wrong. When I refused and left they finally called me and agreed to switch it. Not sure why they couldn’t do that to begin with. And the women that works there is very rude.

I’m highly disappointed! I’ve been waiting for my glasses way longer than 7-10 business days ! They called and said my glasses were ready for pickup on Saturday and when I called for confirmation they told me Monday ! Today is Monday so I called just to confirm and now they are telling me that they won’t be there until tomorrow afternoon, This is my first and last time trying Stanton optical. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone !!

Completely dead when I went in and I can see why.. staff wasn’t very knowledgeable and there isn’t a doctor on sight its a web cam with an optometrist who controls the exam from afar. Very weird. Dont see how they could give me an accurate vision test even with the technology we have today. Just seemed way too rushed. They didnt even have someone who could fit for glasses there. Whats the point?

Im leaving a 4 star based on the company, not the store itself. The store is amazing and has amazing staff. However on the phone when i scheduled an appointment for contacts, the call center told me i 89.95 including a trial pair. I dont know if he was saying that to get me in the door or if he truly did not know his company’s promos and policies. Overall the store was great!

Quick and easy eye exam. I wasnt buying glasses there, but they have a lot to choose from.

The two stars are only for the people, otherwise it would be one. They were nice, but did not seem to know what they were doing. After going in the first time they were unable to properly pull up my insurance because their machines werent working the way other locations had. I decided to reschedule hoping that the second time would go better. I got into the store for my second visit and they called me back, before the exam could start the doctor took a phone call in the same room leaving me sitting around in the back awkwardly trying not to listen. After some time the woman at the front desk informed me that I had to manually mail in my insurance because they would not provide that service for me. Not a good experience.

The staff here is simply amazing and very professional..Prices are affordable which is a plus, I was even able to get my glasses the same day as my exam! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to get an exam and a set of frames.

Been going to another eye care center in Wilmington NC for 15 years but decided to go to Stanton Optical for convenience .. worst thing I ever did .. I went in and they got me right in to go thru the eye exam then went in the room where a doctor from who knows where is giving me me exam thru a webcam. The signs on the door said $59.99 frames with free eye exam and I know that is a hook on select frames and to get you in but the person helping me with my selection disappeared to the back for a while checking my benefits from my insurance only to return to tell me that I had really good insurance which translated to a total bill of $1342.00 for 2 complete pair of glasses with progressive lenses that I did not want in one pair because I have yet to see the other. My visit was 1/21/20 and was told up to 10 days I reached out on 02/02/20 to find out one pair have arrived but not the other ( point being I had to call ) . I have called several other times to be told my other pair are still not in with being told not sure where they are, they think they may have been shipped to California and they would get them shipped back to the Wilmington location then called on 02/09/20 and was told by Monday 02/10/20 they would arrive to now being told on 02/11/20 that it would be another 4 to 5 days. So in closing I would not recommend this place to anyone the pricing consult was not done that I am accustom to from my other eye care provider where I can select the upgrades to my glasses as well as a selection of sunglasses in which Stanton Optical had a selection but very small and no major brands that I normally wear for quality. So I sit here with one pair of glasses ( the ones I got as spares ) still waiting for my others with the only excuse not given being that the delivery truck was hijacked so Stanton charged $1342.00 with my out of pocket expense so stay away with service like this they will not be around long.

2nd time here.1st time was for new glasses. Well this morning while asleep my little one bent the heck out of them. Went in and 5 minutes later came out fixed.thank you guys!!

I have it 3 stars because their advertisement was not very informative. They 2 for 59.99 plus free eye exam was not what it was. You have to pay full price for the first glasses and for the eye exam and it was more that 59.99.

My original prescription was incorrect, a re-exam was performed which was different but the replacement lenses where never delivered.After 4 weeks of multiple contacts with the store and the main office I received no follow up. I will be reporting the company to the BBB.

They do not see children under the age of 8 and failed to mention that on their website.

I walked in and out in a short amount of time and received excellent service. I got the glasses I wanted the way I wanted with great help. I also ordered a good supply contacts with them and was please. I went back a week later to get an adjust on my glasses after getting a chance to wear them for a while and was helped right away. I highly recommend them.
