Always a pleasure to see Dr. Walent and the staff. My first appointment was back in 2016 and I have been with them every year since then. They are kind and caring.

Very efficient. Very thorough. Very Affordable. Very modern. I liked my tech and my doctor as I felt they cared about my eyesight. I was only in their for a routine eye exam but I would also trust them as my ophthalmologist. I would say there is very low risk giving them a first try.

A very pleasant experience, on all levels. All on staff were efficient, courteous and friendly with no lengthy waits. Dr. Walent checked all the boxes as well: personable and professional; asked and answered questions while explaining everything as we went along. Im also a huge fan of the improved eye exam technologies (glaucoma, refraction, etc). I would definitely recommend this practice.

I had such a nice experience at this office. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Dr Thomas was very nice and thorough with my exam. Ive been having trouble with my eye for a couple of weeks, and have been to a couple different doctors. He was by far the best Ive seen he was very reassuring. Also they worked me in at the last minute on a Saturday. Highly recommend!

He went above and beyond he took his time with me he showed me all of the cool technology they had in the office suggestions about what contacts and he answered all of my questions and was very thorough!! Best eye exam I’ve ever had!! I definitely will be going back to him! Don’t forgot the staff everyone was professional and very nice!

I asked about contacts when scheduling my visit. Was scheduled at 5 pm. Get there and they say cant do contacts after 4. I provided insurance info 3 weeks before appt. At check in she says it will take a min for your insurance to go thru.. At check out, im asked did we tell you youre out of network. Visit will be $109!! No! No one told me that. Why did I provide that info if you were not checking ahead!?? I def wouldnt have had the visit. Only plus is staff was really nice.

Excellent experience! The staff was very friendly however, Lori was an absolute GEM! She was incredibly nice, thorough and a wonderful sense of humor. The exam was very detailed and the doctor did a great examination of the eye.

The eye center is outstanding the staff goes above and beyond. Went in without an appointment and was able to get my eyes taken care of right there and then . Their service is top notch I would recommend them for all your eye care needs in the Wilmington area.

Ive been seeing Doctor Tom for at least 4 years. The service and staff are top notch (friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.) They are the reason I drive an hour to get the best eye care. I suffered an eye injury when I was overseas in the service. I know that in time with the chemicals I was exposed to that even though the physical damage has cleared, a secondary condition could occur. The equipment they have actually takes a picture of the inside your eye and shows all the veins and vessels. Dr. Tom is thorough when looking at the entirety of your eyes. His recommendations for contacts/prescriptions have always been spot on and has improved my vision. They always fit comfortably and if 2 weeks down the road something changes, they help you correct it. Dr. Tom is veteran friendly and has worked alongside with the VA, knowledgeable of giving you the correct paperwork for you to turn it in to the VA to get all the benefits you are entitled to. The VA has never asked me once to correct a document, obtain more information, or anything. Its always spot on. For the best eye service and care, my family will continue to make this drive every year.

Had to pay out of pocket for my exam because they failed to be able to locate my insurance coverage. I have since confirmed that the location and doctor are covered by my insurance, l have filed a claim with the insurance company for reimbursement, but don’t trust ordering my glasses or contacts through them without a “we can’t find your coverage, you need to pay for everything!” This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. Although I really like the doctor I see, I will not be returning to this location. Not worth the time and hassle to have to file claims and be reimbursed for someone who is “in network”.

I was so impressed by all the knowledgeable and helpful staff. Thomas Walent III, OD, totally rocked. Ive not had an eye exam in forty ➕ years but he really made me feel comfortable. He knew what he was doing and loved helping me. Im so grateful. Everyone took their time, listened and was extremely patient. Seriously impressed!!! You all ROCK!

Excellent experience from initial call making my appointment to the actual exam. Virtually no wait time. All the girls at the front desk were courteous and professional. Dr. Walent was attentive, professional, courteous, and most helpful. I will recommend The Eye Center to anyone who asks about eye care in the Wilmington area.

I have never had such a thorough eye exam. I was surprised when the doctor showed me how I will see with my new lenses compared to how I am seeing with my present lenses.

The exam was without trouble, there was no reason for thinking anything but good was going to happen from this visit. I felt confident when I left there that all was for my well being only and for the health of my eyes. I understood plainly what was told to me, simple and to the point and with much encouragement. I love my eye doctor hes the best at what he does.

This was our first time visiting The Eye Center Wilmington and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very patient with my shy little 8-year-old daughter as she kept blinking during the eye imaging. They finally had to do the traditional eye exam with the doctor. He was wonderful too and great with my daughter. He had her in and out of the eye exam in no time. We just moved to Wilmington and am extremely happy that we found The Eye Center Wilmington. I would highly recommend to anyone.

The doctors and staff at The Eye Center Wilmington are all amazing! I’m going with multi focal contacts and haven’t worn contacts for about 25 years, they’ve been very patient and caring to get me into the right lenses.

Very efficient and friendly staff. From the eye exam to picking frames, I was very pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of staff.

The staff were courteous and kind, they went above and beyond, ran my medical insurance to pay for a portion of the bill when I didnt know I could use it for an exam. Doctor was very knowledgeable about my conditions and how it would/could affect my vision, best experience I have ever had with an eye Dr. I usually wait two to three years between eye exams because I dont like going, but Dr. Walent made the experience one I wouldnt mind repeating once a year. Ill definitely be back and I would recommend this doctor.

Doc takes his time to explain what he sees from exam, offers recommendations, listens to my concerns. Enjoy my yearly visits and he is there to address other eye issues that may arise in between.

Husband went in for a contact lens exam....was charged $35.00 for imaging that he never signed their IPad for and was charged $140.00 for a contact lens fitting when he told them the lenses he wore previously and was handed 2 types of lenses was told to let them know which he preferred. That was $140.00 WTH??? So when I went in to find out about the $35.00 signature...it was NEVER there....now I have to WAIT for a check when he gave them a card...hmmmmmm

Everyone was wonderful…Great Doctor..

We were just refused service because for medical reasons we are unable to wear masks. Ive never been refused service anywhere, medical or otherwise, even when there were mandates in place. I traveled over an hour to see this doctor with my four children in tow. Refusing service to people with medical conditions is barbaric.

The staff was quick and professional and the Dr. was excellent. He diagnosed and explained my vision issues very well. I would definitely recommend this practice for anyone needing vision care.

Staff friendly, but a lot of the staff is in training and learning insurance. Doctor was excellent.I ask if the were Eye Med and they never corrected me. They are The Eye Center does your insurance take both or just one of them.

I have been a patient of this practice for nearly 5 years. Last year my annual appointment was not scheduled properly and I had to reschedule my appointment. Was told it was due to switching systems. Upon leaving I scheduled my appointment for this year. I have received 3 emails and 2 post cards reminding me of this appointment. I called to confirm and was told that this appointment did not exist and initially was told it was due to a system error, then told it was due to COVID19. 2 years in a row my appointments have been lost. Why bother emailing and mailing post cards? I liked this office better when they were smaller. Now it appears to be more quantity over quality.

I felt reassured that my health and safety was in good hands at the Eye Center. The doors are locked so people must call from outside for their appointments, thus limiting the number of people in the office. EVERYONE wore a mask the whole time and everything was wiped down in between patients. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was thorough and had complete answers to my questions.

The very beautiful ladies were all helpful! They helped me to get in when an opening arrived (walk in) it took a little wait but was worth it! They told me up front what to expect and walked me step by step to my first eye appointment in at least five years! The Nurse gave me some tests and set me up in a office which the Dr then came in and told me what was going on. Gave me my options told me my eyes were in great shape and showed me the pictures explained them to me (what I was seeing) and even gave me a sample of some blink gel tears!
