STAY AWAY!!!This place was a horrible experience!! I went here for the first time, and the store was dirty, and had a unpleasant odor, and the staff were not friendly at all. The old man who did the eye exam was grouchy and very demanding during the exam. I did notice some plaques on his wall that mentioned stuff like optometrist of the year, but with no sponsor or anything, making them seem fake, as if he had them made to make him look more appealing than he really was.Ordered a box of contacts with my insurance through them, but they were supposed to call in 72 hours to verify that the new contacts were comfortable and a good fit. A week later, I called them so they could submit my order, but the lady on the phone was incompetent and the approving person in the office was out, and she had ME CALL someone else with their chain to get it approved. Fast forward a month later, I called and asked where my contacts were, since they only ship them to the store instead of my residence, and they said that it hasnt come in yet. A MONTH!!! I give it a week, and I show up asking for my contacts. The woman at the counter was rude and unapologetic, and only had one of my contact boxes (for one eye). She claimed the delay due to COVID, but we all know that is a lie. Amazon, UPS, FedEx has been going strong, and there was plenty of stock available from external contact lenses websites. Since I paid them money for the contacts that never came, I disputed the charge with them with my bank and my insurance. Since I was at least able to get a Rx prescription, I was able to order contacts through my insurance directly, and had my contacts in 2 days.This place is a dump, the workers are rude and incompetent, and the dr is a low end optometrist.STAY AWAY!!!

I used to go to see this Dr and he is very nice. I simply asked due to Covid if the Dr could leave the door open for ventilation during the eye exam. The exam room is very small and the Dr has to be less than 6ft from you, and I understand that. But whoever answered the phone was giving me a hard time about that. I just wanted the door open for the exam. I dont want to bring anything home to my family. You are willing to lose a customer over 1 simple request. I thought they would be more understanding then this. Ill take my business elsewhere.

My whole family goes to this office every year. My prescription doesnt change anymore, but I want to check annually. The office requires me to get a glasses or they wont do the eye exam. It is ridiculous. Then they said the next available is 04/30. Which is 1 month from now. My cousin called and told them they that he will get glasses. They have appointment for him next week 04/06. This is a discrimination, too. I will tell my whole family and friends to stop going to the office.

Today, I was refused service by a medical professional because I would not make a retail purchase. I have been a patient at this practice for close to four years. I visit once a year for a thorough eye examination and to receive a new prescription for contact lenses. Earlier in the week, I made an appointment for July 3rd. I arrived 10 minutes early and completed the required paperwork. Someone also took my temperature. At this point it is 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. One of the employees comes over to me and says, “You can go ahead and select your frames”. I then replied, “I am here for an eye examination.” The front desk representative then proceeds to tell me that the doctor is only seeing patients who will make an eye glass purchase there in the office. I’m feeling confused as I wear contact lenses. Why would I be expected to buy eye glasses? I’d been here before and this was never the case. I’d communicated with the office three times this week before my scheduled visit. (1.To make appointment 2.They called to confirm my insurance info and 3. They called the day prior to remind me of the appointment) Not once was this “change in policy” ever stated to me. Even in the 30 minutes while I was sitting there waiting to see the doctor, no one mentioned it. This new information is not on the business website; not posted anywhere in the office or included in the multiple pages of paperwork. Needless to say, this practice lost a patient today. They didn’t even apologize for wasting my time. I’ve already found a new doctor who does not require his patients to buy $700 eye glasses. I can no longer recommend this doctor. I was refused service by a medical professional because I would not make a retail purchase. I understand that COVID-19 has had an awful impact on many businesses, but this is not the way to try and make money that has not have been made the past few months. A true disgrace!

My experience for my eye exam was excellent. Currently waiting for my glasses, which I was told would take about 5-7 business days to obtain. I saw reviews complaining about the inability to only receive an exam; note, they are very upfront about the fact that with COVID restrictions, they’re currently ONLY doing full service exams - I knew before even discussing the date of service that I would need to purchase glasses after getting my vision checked. The ladies in the office were very patient while I took a long time to choose my glasses, and the doctor was thorough and encouraging. I’ve never had such instant service when going an eye doctor. I imagine I’ll have no issues once I receive my glasses!

The customer service wasnt the issue here. People were great, but they were lacking in a couple of areas. For one I went in just get an eye exam, and I told them that on the phone before I came in. When I went in, they said they didnt have just exams but Id have to pay to get glasses as well or else I couldnt do it exam at all. To me, thats false advertising. And the lady did tell me that they were trying to get more customers in. The best way to get customers in my opinion, is to actually call the next morning like we planned. Instead, I had to call you to find out if my prescription was ready. Thats a fast way to lose customers, not gain them.

Scheduled an eye exam for myself and my daughter. Purchased a pair of glasses for my daughter but didnt see a pair I like for myself, as a result I was refused the eye exam. It was only after my daughter got her exam that I realized they were not going to see me, I had to ask. Weve come here in the past for eye exams and contact lenses. Expressed my disappointment; will never do business here again.

Scheduled an appointment as a new patient and was told they only take new patients at this time only if I purchase glasses. Ok, no problem, I need some readers.When I went in for my eye exam, I handed them a Department of the Army Form 7655, Armed Forces Eye and Vision Readiness Summary. The form wants standard information: name; birth date; unit of assignment; address; and date of vision screening. The rest of the information the form requires is a result of the eye exam: Visual Acuity, if I need glasses and the prescription, etc. Three questions at the bottom, 1) Does the patient have any ocular condition(s) that may present problems in austere environments far removed from routine medical care? 2) Will the patient require a 180-day supply of medication(s) to treat an ophthalmologic condition(s)? and 3) Has the patient undergone a refractive surgical procedure(s) in the past? Lastly, the form asks the doctors name, license number, address, and signature. Pretty standard requirements.The receptionist stated she needed to ask the doctor if he can fill the form out, pretty standard question. Came back and told me the doctor would not fill it out and advised me to go to the doctor I had previously because he would have the information to fill out the form. I asked, Cant he fill this out after the eye exam? She told me no and said have a nice day. I left and will schedule an appointment elsewhere.Not sure what the issue is with filling the form out since the information may be determined following an exam. I chose this doctor because he is highly credentialed and seems to be one of the leading ophthalmologists in Northern Virginia. You cant tell me he cant answer standard questions. Maybe he feels uncomfortable about filling out an Army form or possibly didnt understand I was there for an eye exam too, I dont know.I am giving them 2-stars because they were very nice telling me no but cannot rate the overall service, you can read those for yourselves in other reviews. Off to find another eye doctor.

This optometrist doesn’t treat you like a number, he’s patient, takes time to explain everything to you, answers any questions you have and really cares. Its baffling how all the one star rating have had a comment back from the office indicating that they have no record of the patient and/or the visit. Completely beyond me. I also think that most of the 5 start ratings are also by family members and friends. But, again it is what it is. I have worked in customer service for years, and I know what utmost customer service is, and what I received at this location was NOT that. I visited this optometrist for the first time today, August 5, 2020. I called 2 weeks ago to make the appointment. The lady on the phone was very pleasant, she was able to set up my appointment in no time without a problem. She asked me what I would be coming into the office for, I told her I am interested in getting tested for a contact prescription. I also told her that my uncle is an optometrist and I have always gotten my contacts from him. The problem is he lives in Boston, and I live in VA. The young lady then went on to tell me that the office is a one stop shop. So you must purchase the contact lenses through them. I explained to her that I have never had another optometrist tell me that before. As long as I do the test, and I pay for the services, I dont understand why I MUST purchase my contacts through them. I have worked with many optometrists before, and this was never the case. As long as you do the test, and pay for the services, why does it matter where I purchase my contacts? A patient should have a choice. Anyways, so I arrive at 11:00 AM sharp for my appt. I was nicely greeted. The two ladies in the front were really pleasant. The office was really clean, and they are enforcing strict measures to comply with CDC due to the current pandemic, which is a plus. They gave me the COVID questionnaire, and checked my temperature. All was great. I go to the back to get tested finally. The doctor was okay. A man of few words. Got the test done in a jiffy. He was nicely covered with masks, and a face shield. During the test, I mentioned to him that I have had a severe dry eyes for a few years, and was even re-tested last year by the optometrist I was seeing under my old insurance. He goes, okay, lets get this done first. Im thinking he will address my concerns after the contact lenses test. NOPE. He concluded the exam, took me to the back room to fit my new contacts on, and walked me to the front. I was completely shocked. But, I remained calm and just let it go. I go to the front, and the young lady who had previously spoken with me to make the appointment proceeds with wanting to sell me the contacts. I explained to her that I wasnt going to purchase my contacts through them and only want to pay for todays service. She goes on to say that I thought I had explained to you last week that we are a one stop shop. I then told her specifically, but I told you I wasnt going to purchase my contacts from your office. I would like to just pay my co-pay and my examination fee. She then excuses herself and went and got the office manager I am assuming. I have no idea who she was. She didnt even introduce herself or anything. She goes to say, what was your question, maam? I then said, I didnt have a question, and didnt ask to speak to anyone. I would like to just pay for the services of today. She then sits down and kind of coerce me into purchasing the contacts. Which I then stand firm and tell her I never purchase my contacts, I would like to just pay for the services. She goes Okay, then you can pick out some glasses. At this point, I am confused. I didnt want to purchase the glasses today. She then goes, your insurance will cover, this amount. Since you didnt get the contacts, you can choose the frame as your insurance will pay up to a certain amount, and you may have to pay a little more. Or if you want plastic lens, it will be free. I was like I dont want plastic lens. Im not ready to purchase my glasses today. Please tell me the services for today so I can pay. They finally gave me the prescription, I paid and left. Never again!!!!

This Doctor is about money. He creates problem to patients to let us visit him more and pay more. I went there first time and I paid $250 just for eye exam and when I asked why is it too expensive. He said that he made a special exam to me because he thinks I have a serious issue. I went to another doctor in Springfield and I paid $25 for eye exam and the doctor told me I have no serious issue. Please be careful and dont trust this doctor.

Competent, friendly staff, but VSP glasses take a week or so to be made.A good no frills choice overall, but anti reflective and UV coatings could easily double your bill, so be prepared to say no a lot if your insurance doesnt cover those.I also asked about glasses with a longer focal length than standard computer glasses. It was admittedly a weird request, but it was a non starter with the doctor.

Dr. Ashfaq is very competent and knowledgeable. Due to high prescription and astigmatism Ive always had very thick lenses for glasses but for the first time i was able to get very thin lenses without it distorting my vision and at a very reasonable price!!!Great environment and a very friendly staff! I broke my glasses and went there with my old glasses so they would put them in the frame. The old glasses were returned to me when the new glasses were put in the frame by them a year ago. I was told neither they or the lab cant help me and that I should get an eye exam since the insurance would pay. This was Saturday. How was I suppose to see anything. So in my desperation I tried WAL-MART. Funny.. they were able to put the old glasses in the frame free of charge. Thank you Wal-Mart for an outstanding customer service. Shame on you my vision care. Ill show my appreciation with my wallet and will choose Wal-Mart for the future

It is good to write a review about this practice. I was on my vacations in the area when I lost my glasses while hiking in Shenandoah national Park. I rang few places but no one was able to make new glasses for me at short notice. Dr Ashfaq in myvisioncare was on my way home and agreed to check my eyesight and prepare glasses in one hour. I must say that I was very happy with his professional dealing with me, he arranged my glasses within an hour. Examined my eyes thoroughly, all for a very reasonable price. The practice is very efficient and appeared very busy that day. They seem to have all the modern equipment to test eyes and prepare glasses.

Dr. Mohammad Ashfaq and his staff at My Vision Care continue to provide first-class service. He is a very thoughtful provider who provides excellent care but is a teacher by trait, thus he clearly explains the issue and adversary affects that can hinder any progress. I live and work in DC and without a vehicle I still make my way for my office visits. That is not my nature to go out of my way as such, but its truly a testament to the service of Dr. Ashfaq and his staff

This place is over priced and poor customer service skills, I tried to ask something and they just ignored and said nothing.

***UPDATE*** They called and offered me any frame in the store for no additional cost. We got the problem worked out in a pleasant manner. In a few years when my perscription needs to be updated Ill probably give them another try.So disappointed! After going through just about all the selection in the store I finally found the frames - I was so excited for this new look. When I went to pick them up a month later (the lab had issues in getting the lenses right) the frames they had for me were NOT the ones Id picked. When I told them my frames were black, not tortoise shell (like the ones I was replacing) and a bit more bold in style their response made me feel like they thought I was crazy and that those were the frames I picked (and already paid for). My husband came back in with me so we could look through the frames and find mine but the ones Id originally chosen were gone. None of the others were right either. In the end I took the ones they had ready for me - but I dont really like them. Not once did they say Im Sorry or take responsibility for their mistake. I wont be going back here again. In the meantime Im stuck with so-so frames for the next couple of years. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

The reason why I chose Dr. Ashfaq as my osteopathic is because my first visit to his vision care saved my eyes. I suffered from eye allergies for so long.My previous dr. prescribed me many eye drops and oral medications as well. But, nothing worked and I ended up spending a lot of money.But, he saved my life. Dr. Ashfaq is very knowledgeable. He is also entertaining. I dont feel comfortable seeing a dr. But, he made me feel comfortable by cracking jokes :DAlso, dont charge a lot of money for unnecessary things. He understands others problems and also give out free eye drops that. I was very fortunate to find Dr. Ashfaq. After my teenage daughter was misdiagnosed twice by different doctors he was able to immediately identify her vision issues and provide corrective solution. She even got her glasses the same day in matter of hours! Not only that my daughters vision has improved with her new prescription glasses but her migraine headaches and squinting was also completely eliminated in matter of days. My entire family has switched to My Vision Care PLLC and we are all very happy. Dr. Ashfaq is very knowledgeable, professional and polite and same applies to his staff. I was recommended this optometrist by a friend. It was a great experience. The Doctor there told me that I have Astigmatism in my right eye and fully explained this to me. I never knew this as nobody ever told me, he is a very competent doctor and was willing to explain and answer all my questions to my full satisfaction. He recommended me Biofinity Toric lenses and I am using them regularly without any problems……Overall great experience, reasonable cost and above all I have my HD vision back. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

Not so Amazing!About a week ago, I lost my glasses. For years, Ive gone to Lake Ridge Vision Source but I needed to get in soon and I liked the reviews for this office. I phoned Monday and was able to secure a Wednesday appointment.Durning the phone intake, I was asked the standard questions ending with the request that I bring in my VSP insurance card. I explained that I didnt have a card but that the information as available in their computer system. She finds it and Im good to go.I arrived on-time and completed the new patient paperwork. At that time, the clerk-in-training asked if I were there for contacts or glasses. I explained I lost my glasses whist on vacation and therefore I didnt have my glasses with me but that while on vacation I purchased a set of frames that Id like to use. She said nothing.The eye exam was pleasant enough. I was asked if I wanted my eyes dilated and I agreed. This office does not have the machine that will take pictures of your eyes so you really have no choice.While I was waiting for the drops to take, the office clerk informed me that they would not be able to fill my script with my new frames. I asked why and she said they couldnt be responsible. I explained that my insurance doesnt include frames this year and if I had my other frames, she would just be changing lenses. She said they wouldnt be able to do it in that case either. What?So again, I say then the only place I can buy lenses is here or take my script someplace else to have done and she says yes. At that time my eyes have sufficiently dilated and I go finish my exam.After the exam, I ask the receptionist for my script as well as a copy of my medical file because Im heading back to LakeRidge Vision Source where I should have gone the first time. She hands me a medical release form and states that my file wont be ready for 7-10 business days. I ask her to please just make a copy of the 1 page form I watched the Dr. complete and she said no. She asks if I would like to make a follow-up appointment and I said NO.15 minutes later Im at Lake Ridge Vision Source trying to get the script filled with my new frames. Sadly, I was unable to do so because my insurance authorization was being held by this office. I called and asked them to release my account and she said she would.All in all this was a total waste of time and I should have just stayed with Lake Ridge Vision. Their office has modern equipment and a up-to-date section of frames to choose from. Its unfortunate that small businesses choose to have no flexibility with their procedures and customers go packing.The Dr. himself was nice but no different than the doctors at lakeRidge Vision Source. The problem is with his procedures and his front office personnel.

I needed a contact lens exam and my friend recommended My Vision care. Everything was great from signing in for my appointment to getting my contact lenses fit. During the exam, Dr Ashfaq mentioned that I barely had eyelashes and that they were very small. i told him that I have tried all treatments including steroid shots in my lids but nothing helped. He wrote an ointment for me to use for one week in order to get rid of my previous infection and then started Latisse eye drops. I was astonished to see my eye lashes growing. I love my eyelashes now. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ashfaq to everyone.

Dr. Ashfaq is the best eye doctor in Woodbridge VA that I have ever known off. The people in the clinic are very welcoming and nice to patient. Dr. Ashfaq listens to patients very carefully and let them explain their problem. I am telling out of my own experience I was having very bad eye problem regarding allergies and all. No doctor could fix my problem but Dr.Ashfaq listens to problem very carefully and treat me according to my eye condition. he followed up with me every weekend to see how my eyes were doing. Honestly, my eyes couldnt get relieved if i wouldnt have visited My Vision Care. I recommend Dr.Ashfaq to everyone who ask me for good eye doctor. I am very lucky to get my eyes treated by Dr.Ashfaq cuz I aint encountering no more problems. :) :) :)

Before going to My Vision Care, I went to another doctor who told me that I couldnt wear contact lenses, but it didnt sound right, so I decided to go to Dr. Ashfaq. I was very happy to see how nice and welcoming the entire staff was and the best news was that Dr. Ashfaq helped me find the right contact lens and answered all my questions and even shipped them to my university!
