Wish I could give zero star. What is the point of making appointment if you will not honor it?Waited for more than 30 mins and no sign of doctor and there was no one ahead of me. Finally I cancelled my appointment and walked out of the store. Very disappointed at today’s experience. Will not come again!!!It just made me laugh when one of the front desk staff said doctor is reading your history. ( for last 30 mins ). Lmao

This place is good. Nice online system to book appointments and fill out paperwork, doctor was good, staff were friendly. What else do you want? Plus it’s in the mall so there’s that.Update: Know whats crazy? I didnt like my glasses because the lenses ended up being thicker than I expected. I went in and they said they would change them out and I only had to pay the difference in price. Pretty cool customer service right there.
I have visited this location two times and both times I noticed the doctors are very nice and helpful. However, I don’t like the costumer service I received from the rest of the staff, they were rude to me and other customers. Additionally, I told them that I wanted to get contacts and replace the lenses of my glasses but the lady only quoted me for the glasses, when she gave me my total I noticed that the price was same as if I wanted to buy the frame also; so, I told her I wouldn’t do the glasses, she gave me my receipt and said “ok, thank you.” The lady was just not in a good mood to continue helping me so, I said “thank you” and left without asking about the contacts. Unfortunately, now I have to buy them somewhere else.

The optometrist was phenomenal and explained in detail everything he saw and everything he did. The office took extraordinary steps to ensure the office was clean and free of potentially sick customers (although I’m sure you can’t know for sure if people are sick). Pricing is reasonable and there’s always a sale of some sort but I wasn’t thrilled by the final step which was finalizing the payment because you have no idea of what you’re being charged for prior to them asking you to swipe your card. There was no itemized list that the customers preview which is so ridiculous to me. That’s my only complaint though.
I was able to get an appointment the same day I call, everyone was helpful. The doctor explained everything I need to do because I had some other issues. It was quick I love my glasses and I can’t wait to get them.
They presceened me with 3 tests -light flash, puff of air and picture of eye.Dont know the results.Doctor was nice.Did not received a script.Guess it is in their computer.Would like to know what the difference of my sight is now vs 2 years ago.Regina did my order for glasses. VERY NICE and Helpful.Have questions now that I didnt think to ask when I was there :-(

Extremely friendly staff. Everyone was especially great with my 11yo ASD daughter. Had an appointment for both my daughter (1:40) and myself (3:00). Instead of making me wait until later in the afternoon, they took care of us both at the same time. We had our exams, ordered our contacts/glasses, and were out well before 3:00. We will be repeat customers, for sure.
I was seen at Potomac Mills on 1/12/21. The doctor is wonderful. I want to let you know I have been going to this same one for years. There is one employee there that argues with me ( I only go in 2 times a year). She has no customer service skills at all. She argues with patients while I was there I heard her on the phone with her snotty voice tell someone Its not my fault, and I cant do anything about it. She must be a owners kid. VERY disrespectful. Never ever returning.
I showed up for my appointment on time and was meeting with the doctor in about 5 minutes. After my exam, I was able to pay and be on my way in only a few minutes. The doctor and all of the employees were polite and professional and very accommodating!
I had great service from the staff and the doctor, who checked my eyes. I appreciate the precautions put in place during this pandemic as well. Looking forward to wearing my new glasses. Thank you.
Arriviving at the stores as its’s first customers, my brother and I walked into the store store where the staff did not say “good morning” nor were they at all friendly. Continuing my experience the exam was fine, the doctor was a very friendly and happy. However, after the exam had finished and I had decided to go and look for frames, I decided I did not like the selection, nor did I want to spend the money at the time for the frames. Upon learning this, the employees tried to convince me that I could still get the frames albeit at basically free due to my insurance. I still refused since I have other bills to pay. With my brother sitting at another table talking to another employee, the employee in question goes and calls me “boujee” because I did not want new frames. She acted as if it was okay to call a customer a name like that! Yes I am half black, yet it was completely uncalled for to have a name like that hurdled at me. This location has had its customer service go downward year after year (I have been going this is location since 2015). I will be taking my business elsewhere and will recommend that to my family and friends that they go elsewhere!
The doctor was very thorough. He reviewed my scans and test results discussed the different options for my lense prescriptions and answered all of my questions. The rest of the staff was professional and helpful too. Great experience.
I’m about to call an attorney.After getting an eye exam, none of the staff seemed interested in helping me pay my co-pay, so that I could leave—my newborn baby waiting with my wife in the car outside. There was, however, a salesperson who kept pushing me to try on their frames.I said, “I should really go. Perhaps next time.”To which she replied, “OK. I can help you with that.”I paid some copays, signed some reciepts, and went on my way—at this point perhaps this would be a three star review (the store was a mess; the employees inattentive and visibly disgruntled).Much to my dismay when trying to get frames at Costco the next day, I discovered that the frame benefit on my insurance had already been “depleted” by Visionworks. They applied my benefit without me picking out frames or asking my permission.I now wonder to myself if this fradulent activity constitutes not only a violation of civil law, but would bear criminal implications for the parties involved.

Dr Rice was great. The lady who assisted me with measurements was congested and it was weird especially during this covid-19. Being a nurse I found it very uncomfortable. She said she had allergies.
I was highly disappointed. My son was seen at the Potomac location in June for his eye exam. At the time we were told no contact exam were being done and to call back in the following weeks. This was completely understandable considering covid restricts etc. I called at the end of July and was able to get an appointment for him in August. I called the day before to ensure his appointment was done correct (I.e contact exam and class). On the phone I was told he needed an eye exam ... negative just had one and Dr said we could use it. Then she told me he was not schedule for an actual class but they could fit him in later that day. His exam was at 1120am. We arrived 10 minutes early and the staff immediately began with how if he has his exam today and class what if they don’t have contacts or something, making me feel very uneasy. Next up although arriving on time we weren’t actually seen by the Dr until an hour later. Not once did any of the staff bother to give an update about his appointment. The Dr was nice and knowledgeable. Paid and left ... then returned back at 4pm for the contact lens class. Again arriving 10 minutes early per directions emailed. Again waited for half an hour before being taken back for the contact lens class.Staff seems unmotivated to assist. Call multiple times and you will get multiple different answers to whatever your question is.The Dr was really nice which is why I gave it two stars but I can only imagine the pressure he feels getting through the clients he has in the waiting area. I won’t be coming back to this location or company.
Visionworks was what I would call the perfect experience. In and out. I got there 10 minutes early, stood in line to be admitted in and after that everything was smooth sailing.
I had a 4:20pm appointment time and I was seen almost immediately when I walked in. The doctor was very informative and pleasant. When picking out my frames (kind of bittersweet because I have never had to wear glasses before 😢), I had the help of a one of the sales associates. She was awesome! I will definitely recommend Visionworks to others! Awesome, speedy and great customer service!
Everyone there was very polite and nice! It was quick once I got there since Ive done all of my insurance stuff online. The lady was nice and quick with the pre-test and the optometrist was quick and very informative. They explained my insurance coverage to me before I picked out my glasses so that I know my charges. It was my first time getting an eye exam ever and I would definitely recommend this place to others!
I was shockingly/pleasantly surprised that I was able to make a same-day appointment ONLINE!!! Unfortunately, I had to go elsewhere for my glasses since they don’t take Aetna but other than that GREAT experience overall...
The staff seemed a little disorganized upon entering (although friendly). However, once check-in was complete I felt well taken care of.... from the initial part (look in at the house,, X, etc) to Dr. Rice showing me slides (one or two, three or four,, etc). Dr. Rice was extremely knowledgeable (and patient with me!).
I just picked up my glasses that I ordered on 11/24, the turnaround time for my prescription glasses to come in was much shorter than the expected time frame.Rigo assisted me in making sure they fit perfectly before I walked out the door. I am super happy with the service Rigo provided.

Made an appointment to get an exam and a new pair of glasses. Filled out the survey they sent me a few days before the appointment, went in 10 minutes early as instructed, and was in and out exam and picking out frames included in maybe 30 minutes. Was a very nice experience and I would recommend yall get your eyes checked here for sure.
We had 4 members of our family come in at the same time. The staff and Dr got us in and out super quick! They were so kind too. The front desk staff were so friendly and the same with the Dr every time we go.

This place was great last year. I guess they have a new front desk who is very unprofessional. I was having trouble scheduling online and when I had called to make an appoint I was told she was busy and to go back online. So I am very disappointed in this place. Definitely won’t be back.
This office is Stafford with professionals who are courteous & provide excellent customer service. They have taken the necessary precautions due to COVID-19 to make us feel safe!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars, their customer service is simply amazing, their Covid-19 protocol is really good I felt very comfortable taking my 9yrs old to get her check up done, we were in and out in less than 30 mins, and their prices are FABULOUS!! I went from spending $500+ with insurance at other place to spending $200 or less with vision works. 100% recommended!!!!
Unfortunately I had a bad experience, I had the appointment at 6 and it was 6.30 pm and no one was attending us, until I told my son to ask, because they were all sitting doing nothing talking to each other, and us there, and it turns out that they They asked why they were not treated and one of them said she did not know anything, and by the time they told us that they did not accept the insurance when one of them had told me the day before that she worked with that insurance, it was a waste of time I do not recommend that place,
The Visionworks at Potomac Mills is a good one. The wait time is brief. The check in staff and tech staff are efficient. Dr. Rice is thorough, knowledgeable and pleasant. I have to be honest I’ve had a little bit of issues in the past visit when it came to the staff who assist in the eyeglass purchase. Though I’m very happy to say that Regina who helped me choose my glasses and my sunglasses was very patient with me. She was pleasant to deal with and the whole process was pretty much stress free. My orders have not yet arrived and will shortly. So far I’m pleased with my experience.
Very nice experience. The doctor was thorough in testing my daughter to confirm her prescription. Loved him. He even helped me understand what my daughter’s vision was like by letting me look through special lenses.The eye glass technician helped tremendously in selecting the perfect pair of glasses for my daughter. He was friendly, patient and knew exactly what style glasses we were looking for. The turnaround timeframe was great - next day. The front desk staff seemed overwhelmed, granted it was rather busy.Very pleased with our experience overall.
Overall Visionworks is an excellent place for getting your eyes examined and evaluated. Most outstanding is the optometrist, Dr. Stephen Hanowsky. He is very personable and extremely professional. He offered explanations, generally before I asked, as he proceeded through each exam phase . When I did ask a question, he gave me thorough explanations that I could understand. Also, the exam fees are very reasonable.The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because the price of the frames seems to be high.

Everyone was professional/pleasant. I paid a little extra for an optional eyeball imaging. No pressure there, but it made sense to me. The testing equipment and I didn’t seem to align/get along well, but the test went fine.Later, I had an issue with some glasses that I got - elsewhere. They were quick to sit me down to double check the prescription, and then fit me in with the doctor to make sure there was no mistake on their end. I aligned better with the equipment, but even then, everything had been accurate the first time. They were professional and helpful on my return trip as well so I have no complaints and only appreciation. Convenient right there in the mall, and a good price for the exam as well. I would go back.

I had a 5pm appointment and was told my insurance didnt cover the eye exam. They sorted it out and found out my insurance actually did cover it and I had to wait until 5:40pm. Will not be coming back. Wasted a lot of my time and didnt even apologize for the huge inconvenience. The manager Rob could have handled the situation better and apologized for his mistake.
Went for the typical eye exam, lenses and frame purchase. The eye exam was thorough and any questions were answered very well by the doctor (I’ve concerns surrounding migraines). Aaron assisted in selecting my frames and lenses options. He is absolutely customer first focused. The GM of the store and other employees were very friendly as well, even with the store being so busy. I highly recommend this Woodbridge, VA location.

Great experience! Doctor Hanowsky was very knowledgeable and thorough and staff was very professional. Within an hour I was able to complete an exam, got a year supply of contacts and was out the door. I’ll definitely be back again next year. Great quality service all around!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They work well with clients of all ages. I sat and witnessed a couple in their 80’s and a mother alone with 4 children under the age of 10 all being treated with patients and attentiveness. It’s a well staffed place. Highly recommended to anyone.

My experience during the eye exam was okay. But I ordered contacts from them for delivery and after a few weeks I called to say I hadn’t received them yet. The stores response was that it takes 10 days for them to receive the contacts to the store which they then ship to the customer. So I waited about a month from the initial order date and called the store again. I was told that they’ve had my contacts waiting to be picked up in store (for 11 days) and that someone left me a “message” they were ready for pick up..... 1) There was no “message” and 2) I asked for them to be shipped directly to my house when placing the order! Next time I will be going back to 1-800 contacts!
My whole experience with needing to reschedule for another time on the same day, the staffs customer service & knowledge, doctors integrity & knowledge, I have hope for Visionworks again! This location at Potomac Mills Woodbridge, VA is the best Visionworks I have dealt with! I also love how the employees treat each like close friends.
Visionworks Doctors of Optometry at Wood bridge was an amazing experience. My family just pcsed here due to the military and this optometry company was one of the approved choices. I needed an appointment the very next day and was able to get one. They are open everyday which is great. The optometrist that I saw has been the best thus far. She was very knowledgeable about my eye health and making sure to tell me what needed to be done. Most optometrists I have been to only do the eye exam. She actually looked at my glasses and compared the new prescription to my old one and advised on proper care for my blurry vision. The front desk staff were really professional and kind as well as helpful. I highly recommend this place.Update: I had been told they could mail out my glasses to my new address out of state because I was moving but when it came time to receive the glasses, the lady said, it would be a problem to mail them out. I wish there were clear understanding with each employee that a customer comes in contact with when talking about purchasing glasses and asking if it could be mailed out. I am very upset that they did not come through on this part because it really inconvenienced my husband who was still in state preparing to leave for the military. If he was not still in state, I would have had to drive 8 hours to get the glasses. The lady I spoke to said she could ship to a nearby store but I checked and there were none in my state. So for those military families if you get glasses here, realize that you cannot get it mailed out. Aside from that everything was amazing!

Had a great experience. I was there for about a hour. Waited for less than 10 minutes for my appointment to get my eyes checked. Had a good conversation about my eyes with the doctor. The staff was a great help picking out new glasses. Pick one. Get one free. Great deal. Was there only for one pair but left with a second pair as sunglasses for the same money. Got contacts as well. Store has a wide selection of frames. The Manager-Rita - is very professional and will accommodate you if you have an issue. She goes above and beyond. Staff is very polite. Doctor H was very thorough with his examination. I recommend this location to all.

Everyone from the young lady that greeted me and got me started to the optometrist and even the person that sold me my contacts and glasses was extremely professional and kind. I was in and out in an hour wearing a fresh pair of contacts and they even had my brand and prescription of contacts on hand so I was able to leave fully stocked. 10/10 will definitely visit again.

I do not recommend getting lenses made here. In February 2018, I had new lenses made for frames I already had. Within a few months, one lens developed three cracks and the other lens developed a smudge that would not rub off, as if the finish was peeling off the lens, in three spots. I called and told them about it, and they replied that the warranty would not cover this. The warranty was good for one year and this was nine months into that year.
I have been here several times over, I come for glasses and shades,, Im on my way back, the doctor and staff are wonderful,!!!! See you soon.

Was able to get same day appointment on a Sunday. Optometrist was knowledgeable, respectful, and very kind. Associates were very patient, understanding, and knowledgeable when it came to purchasing glasses. My second year using their services and just as pleased as I was last year.
This location is hit-and-miss. Sometimes the service is great, sometimes not. The optometrists are fine, but the store staff often lacks customer service skills. Again, it depends on the person. Ive had both good and no-so-good experiences at this location. I do wish that when I called the 1st time that they had given me a location to enter the mall, like, Take the entrance next to XX store and were right there. That should be standard for a store of any kind in a mall. The employees are clearly trained for sales, but few companies train for customer interactions anymore. Basic professional manners can go a long way. And chatting with other employees about personal stuff when they are at the desk within earshot of customers is not good practice.
The costumer service is really poor and they kept us waiting for more than 2 hours and our appointment was at 12:00 pm and we left at 2:00. We were there early and people got to leave before us. overall our experiences as really bad.

Visionworks is my go to optometrist!I have a lot of options as a retired veteran, but chose the family friendly service at the Potomac Mills location. For the past nine years I entrusted the Visionworks team with my family.You have an option to obtain great prices and customer services from Visionworks, or spend twice as much at another location for similar or worse assistance.
I love coming here because the manager Ms. Rita is very kind and fun to talk to. Dr. Rice is also helpful and educated me on the state of my vision. The sales associate Shai was also very friendly.
The lady that sits in the corner is not as professional as she thinks she was. I came in wanting to purchase 2 pair of new glasses for myself and I walked out with none for myself because of her service. I did purchase for my husband only because he needed them badly. The actual Dr was very professional I must say.

If I hadn’t had to deal with a dozen other optometrists in the area before finding this one, I might not have realized how great the visit was. Everything went smoothly. Staff were kind and helpful, from making the appointment to the actual appointment, to getting my paperwork at the end. I was trying to get the vision test portion of my out of state drivers license form filled out. None of the other places I called could (or would) test to Ohio specifications, and most of them either put me on hold for 30 minutes or called me back 6 hours later to tell me that. Also, the first optometrist I saw simply didn’t fill out the form correctly and then wouldn’t give me a refund when her paperwork was useless AND her manner in dealing with me was so rude that I was frankly frightened about my eye health and seeing another optometrist. Dr Win’s manner was completely different. She gave me the same information and did the same tests, but spoke to me like an equal and delivered all of her results quickly and kindly. I highly recommend her and her staff.

I called at around 10:00am in the morning (maybe earlier) to see if they would accept my insurance and to schedule an appointment. The lady who answered the phone told me that they do accept my insurance, she took my insurance ID number, name and phone number and scheduled me for a 1:00pm appointment. I got there at about 1:10 because they are located inside the mall, but she didnt bother to explain that to me on the phone or where exactly in the mall they were located. I went in and started filling out the paper work. They took the paper work and my insurance card and sent me back to have a seat. At 1:36pm a lady comes to tell me that they do not, after all, accept my insurance. I inquired as to why they would A. Tell me that they do and B.not give me a call to let me know since they did have all of my information before hand. The lady replied by saying I am sorry, we were busy and didnt get a chance to call. I wasted an hour work break going to an eye doctor that doesnt even accept my insurance, only to leave with nothing accomplished. I felt they should have called to confirm so that I wouldnt have had to make the trip and sit there for 30 minutes for nothing. I didnt even feel any concern at all from the employees for the waste of my time or the fact that I will now have to wait and set aside another time and trip to take care of this. If they would have told me over the phone or at least called me back before my appointment to let me know they didnt take my insurance, I could have simply went somewhere else and not wasted my time.

Vanessa she says is a manager and shes watching Virginia whats shes doing but she dont say anything until change my patience and make me upset because I feel they is playing changing the balance 3 times. I have almost 7 years checking my ayes in this company and I never have problems like this. People dont care make the costumer happy I not sure why is working in customer service.Customer first make better reviews.Im almost pay everything them she change the amount with more than $40 and them Vanessa change everything with more than that... Thorough, efficient and friendly staff at every position; from the Dr. down to frame selection and payment. Should have been going here all along.
The doctor was very thorough and reassuring. He found signs of a underlying medical conditon and explained the effects and next steps to me clearly and in a way that did not alarm me but impressed the urgency of diagnosis and treatment for the condition. Because of him, I was diagnosed with something I never knew I had that explained a lot of my mundane but cronic discomfort. I really feel like he is a life changer and I did not leave in a massive panic and started to get treatment that I did not know I needed but is making a huge difference in how I feel. The staff was very kind, friendly and attentive.
All went well except my wife complained he rushed through the exam.
I had neglected to take care of my vision needs for 3 or 4 years because it was too costly for my meager Social Security Income. Finally, I made a pledge to take better care of myself and the VisionWorks Potomac Mills Manager (Ms. Rita Felton) was instrumental in my being willing and able to so . . . she informed me that they were having a 60% Off SALE!!! . . . my favorite word and activity. THEY WERE WONDERFUL from beginning to end!!! . . . The Technicians . . . The Doctor . . . The Cashier (who took my money) . . . and the Manager. Although it was a financial sacrifice . . . I felt good because the money was well spent. Nothing beats being treated nice by the people with whom you are spending your money. THANKS VISIONWORKS!!!
