Tim is a genuine car guy. His wealth of knowledge in this business is rare. You wont find another person more upfront and honest as him. He gives it to you straight and means what he says. He backs it up with the best personnel and quality work in the business. I wont hesitate to recommend him and his business to anyone.
These guys hooked me up.. did a fantastic job on my roadrunner. they went above and beyond. the attention to detail is sick. the car is very reliable. the paint on the car is slick as glass and theres no ripples. the custom interior is out of this world.. 5 stars for this shop...highly recommended
Iron Horse is the place to take your Classic cars.I’ve used many car shops in the past and have been disappointed for one reason or another.I took my 1967 Mustang in for repairs on motor mounts at Iron Horse Tim spent time going over my car showing me things it needed . Tim is a car whisperer the man knows the business . He repaired and painted a couple of spots on the doors, matched the paint perfect. Two friends of mine took their 68/69 Camaros in for repairs they love Tim’s staffs work. These Camaro’s are 150.000 dollar cars each.My buddies standards are high .Tim at Iron Horse met or exceeded their expectations. My 67 is a daily driver with a 93 5.0 motor Tim is putting a custom Headliner in and up grading my rear drive train . If you are wanting quality and excellent work and someone cares about their work, Iron Horse is the place.
I can’t say enough great characteristics about Tim and his team at Iron Horse Classics. I have a large emotional and a considerable financial investment in the cars I collect. These cars are being left to my kids so it’s important to me that they are handled professional with an eye to the long term. I asked Tim and the crew to please give me constructive criticism and suggestions. After immediately seeing these guys know these cars like the back of their hand and their desire isn’t to just line their pockets, the focus is on the quality and the reasonable pricing for the services. In a highly competitive business with a lot of options around town, I only have 2 shops out of probably 20+ that I trust implicitly with my investments and Iron Horse is where I will continue to send the toys to get them right and tight. Well done guys!!
Excellent mechanics.
Tim Goodwin is a lier and a theif.
We called Ironhorse after a recommendation. My wife’s grandmother’s 56 T-bird was stored for the past 10 years. The owner at Ironhorse, Tim, accepted our car and performed an assessment. We expected to pay tens of thousands to get it running, and safe for my wife to enjoy; I feared we might need a new engine. Surprisingly, Tim said it needed very little to get running. We received the car, with an itemized list of work performed, spending only $1,700. It runs great, Tim was wonderful with me and my wife. We highly recommend Ironhorse Classics.
If you want it done right, this is your place.
Ironhorse Classics does poor quality work and they overcharge. You would be better off taking your car to a chop shop than taking it to this place!
Tim provided great service, communication, and work from my initial phone call to the final product. He never talked down to me but always addressed questions when I had them, and he kept me in the loop to make decisions regarding labor and parts. My car runs better than it ever has, and now I have a go-to shop for my special ride!
Best shop!, great people, great workers! Highly recommend, a busy shop is a good shop. Quality work, they fixed my car and found that it was a simple fix and didnt charge high prices. I like that they specialize in classic cars and have the mechanics that can work on them.thanks again for the great work on my Cadillac.Update 5/5/19: the past two years I have gone in for small things to get done, can’t say enough how professional these guys are, the mechanics/masters are very friendly and professional and know their stuff, Tim has always given me the time to go over what I enquirer about and advice on work to be done, even if it’s something I may do instead of having his shop do because of time or cost,Can’t say it enough, this is the shop to go to, if you see the cars they work on and what they have done you won’t want to look anywhere else.
Started work on an old 55 Ford F100 last summer. Bill has been so helpful. Coming into the shop, when they are technically closed, so I could drop stuff off on. Telling me how to do some things on my own... and even encouraging me to do it.They have done a good job, completed work when promised, and charged a fair price.I just need them to move the shop closer to my home, but for now it is well worth the drive to Wylie!
Amazing work! After they did a great job restoring the engine of my 67 Camaro, I told the owner, Tim, that I wished the car was more straight. Although the paint condition was near perfect, there were a lot of waves and dents all around the car. Tim recommended paintless dent repair and I couldn’t be happier. My Camaro is now worthy of being a show car. Having the Paintless dent repair done was the best thing I’ve done to it. It’s like it’s brand new again! And no paint work was needed. Incredibly AMAZING! I am a very happy customer! Now I plan to have him do the hail damage on my wife’s QX 80.
As with other reviews I have read, Tim will generalize and tell you one amount and in the end it will cost many times more. ($7500 ended up $28000 and still not done)I would tell you to get things in writing, but I can promise that will not happen. Tim always has an excuse why he cannot provide one.If you want a good 90% job at double the cost (or more) Iron Horse Classics is the place to go.The one statement that should tell you everything you need to know about Tim and the shop (honest to god truth on this) “you didn’t pay me enough to fix it right”.This was in regard to my electric window not going up completely. Tim told me if the passenger window does not go up all the way to help it out by pushing up on the glass.Way to much more to list and I just won’t go there.Bottom line:fore warned is fore armed.
