These guys know their carburetors. They are one of the few shops around that work on carburetors and they do a fantastic job. My family has used GearHead a few times and we have always been happy! The price always seems fair and is consistently much lower than repairs quoted at the dealership. As a female, I never feel like they are trying to tack on extra services. Their care for customer service cannot be beat. I took my car in for a roof leak during a rainy week and they figured out the problem and fixed it in about 20 minutes at NO CHARGE just because it was a quick & simple fix.

This place is shady and scammers. They don’t fix anything. They Just “patch” it and charge you for the full price without actually fixing the issue. Kicking myself for allowing these people to con me multiple times out of at least 2grand and NONE of my issues were ever fixed You’re much better off going to integrity automotive next door way better and honest services.

Awesome group of guys. My coworkers truck blew a heater hose on the way home from work and we had no choice but to pull over in a random parking lot. Just so happened that in said parking lot was Gearhead Auto Repair. Jr allowed me to use his tools and gave me some hose that he had in the shop to get me back on the road. The guys brought me water to get me to the yard. I cant thank them enough very honest and very good people. Being that we were stranded they could have easily taken advantage and charged an arm and leg. They just told me be safe and sent me on. Thanks JR and crew. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. 5 stars is not enough.

Ridiculous...called the place numerous times left messages and on Facebook...they never answered phone or their Facebook ad.. we fi ally had to drive to their physical locations...a 45 minute drive...Dont bother if you want someone to help you

A/C went out in my truck, brought it to the shop and got a call next day saying they have the parts and the truck will be ready by tomorrow. This place is amazing! The AC blower motor on my wife’s vehicle went out at the end of July. One place said it would be at least 9 man hours and couldn’t get to it for about 3 weeks. My wife takes my parents, who are in very poor health, to doctors appointments and Dialysis, they couldn’t be without air for 3 weeks. I went to Gearhead and they were able to get to it right away, get it fixed and it took only 3 1/2 man hours. Because it was so hot they made it a priority. They took SUCH good care of us! We will definitely be using them from now on!!

Had a couple spark plugs changed and got an estimate for power steering pump/ distributor cap. Great staff, excellent work! I sent my wife on a 4hr road trip less than 2days after my service had been completed and she made her journey safe and sound. I highly recommend this shop for anything from regular maintenance to full restoration. From my experience, they have what it takes.

Ive sent a number of motorcycle enthusiasts to Gearhead, based on the owners (I do business with people I know, like and trust) and have received good feedback. I finally had a need myself, to get the forks on my Valkyrie Interstate rebuilt. The turn around was way quicker than I expected and the cost was the low end of their estimate. And the work was great. Ill be back, and Ill continue to send people there.

We love Gearhead Auto Repair! Our Toyota is 14yrs old and Michelle took the time to clearly explain the maintenance needed to keep it running another 100K miles. They quickly got the work done and it runs just as great as when we first drove it off the lot. The waiting area is clean and tidy and they gave thought to ALL the customers who will be waiting- not just the car magazines here, but a variety from which to choose! There is a great kids corner (we were huge fans of the bucket of Legos). It is a drive for us to get there, but the quality of the service and friendliness of the staff is worth it!

My starter went out In Wylie and I live 45 min away from Wylie. I called Robert and hour before he closed telling him my situation he told me get towed up here and he’ll see what he can do, I got towed up there he had a new starter there within 20 mins and had me a new starter put on within an hour. They stayed open later for me and I was able to get back on the road and get home.

We have switched from our long time mechanics in Allen to Gearhead in Wylie! They have fair pricing that is comparable to most other shops we have used but its so nice not to walk in and instantly feel like we are getting upsold . We all know paying for car repair can hit the budget and hurt but at Gearhead they are always very professional, friendly, willing to take a minute and show us the cool vintage auto projects they have going on. Oh, and we also LOVE their sweet little shop dog too. Highly recommend!

Honest..

For eight-plus months, I have been experiencing vibration and unexplained shaking. Now, it took one view and a complete diagnosis; and the following issues: valve cover gasket leak, damage lower control arm, cracking drive belt, and failing rear shocks. The quoted price was a fair market rate, repairs vehicle finish within a reasonable amount of time, and customer service exceptional throughout the repair process. I will recommend them to family, friends, and someone looking for a reliable repair shop!

Great group of people at this garage! Very friendly and more importantly honest. Took my 72 Mustang in for a power steering issue which they promptly fixed at a reasonable price. Additionally, while I was there they diagnosed a check engine light problem I was having with my 2003 Chevy Silverado which allowed me to make the repair myself. No charge for that diagnosis. Most other shops try to charge you $75-85 for that service. If you are looking for a shop that will treat you right without the fear of getting ripped off, give these guys a chance.

Top notch work. Had some work done on my truck because it was leaking oil and I couldnt figure out why. Robert had it figured out in about 5 minutes and had everything running that day. That guy knows his cars!! About 2,000 miles later no leak and runs like a champ!! If something breaks on my truck, Gearhead is where Im headed. Awesome works guys.

GEARHEAD AUTO REPAIR, in Wylie Texas is definately where to take a vehicle for any repair. Robert and his son Jr. have been working on my vehicles for over 20 years and have taken my fear out of dealing with the problems and preventative maintenance that comes with the purchase of a vehicle. Honest and fair is what I get while ever dealing with Robert or Jr. I dont have to fear the fleecing that goes on at other shops. Plus the savings I recieve beats it all after pricing the same issues with other shops around the area. What I would recommend is after getting the service you need at a another repair shop is to then bring that estimate to them at GEARHEAD AUTO REPAIR and allow them the opportunity to give you the truth and real costs of having your work done there.
