Those guys know classic cars and care about quality. They definitely have some nice vehicles in stock. Its hard to choose...
This dealership requires you to give them a (non refundable) thousand dollars in order to check out a car before buying it. I have never heard of such a policy in all my years of buying and selling cars. Is this now common? I live on the west coast and I can tell you that sort of garbage would not be tolerated.
Today we picked up our 68 Mustang from Gateway. The entire sales team made every step clear, honest, and top notch. We’re already planning our next buy for next year and we will only work with Gateway. You all are awesome! Jen and Greg
Ive been looking for a Corvette for a couple months, and recently noticed an ad for Gateway that advertised a vette that seemed to be just what I am looking for. I studied the photos and the description several times, then decided to make the 30-mile trip to the warehouse/showroom. The car and another I was interested in had both been sold, and it sounded like it was some time ago!Heres a tip: MARK SOLD ON ALL INVENTORY YOU NO LONGER HAVE. And, if someone drives 45 minutes to see something you no longer have, apologize. Its called being responsible and mannerly....both good business practices as well as being a good person practices. Constructively....
Man this is Hotrod heaven. Some beautiful classic muscle.
Great place with amazing looking old Cars.
Awesome collection of cars. Super friendly staff. Enjoyed our visit.
This place is absolutely beautiful and a great place for classic cars. All the staff were friendly, and they have events!
I recently bought a Porsche Boxster from this location. From the outside, the place seemed great and reputable, but dont be fooled. The biggest issue I have with this place is they will sell you cars that havent been inspected. For me, my car had all broken seals allowing water to leak in and damage the carpet and computers. In addition, the staff makes promises they cannot hold to. I was told the title would arrive in one to two weeks. Still hasnt. They also kept me waiting for an extra hour for a temporary tag that they couldnt even put on correctly. Came off on the ride home. A complete joke.If someone from this place is reading this I expect someone to reach out and to compensate my hassle and repairs. It seems this place use to get a lot of great reviews, but for whatever reason lately has not been. The reoccurring pattern here is THEY DONT INSPECT THE CARS FOR YOU.
They sold my car in less than a year with a very limited market for it. Got my check within a week and everything was smooth and issue free. Great concept and good people. I will do it all over again if I decide to sell another one of my babies!
Had the car inspected by their recommended third party inspector but clearly he is in their pocket. Since leaving the lot on Wednesday, the transmission failed, the muffler fell off, and the front brake caliper seized. As is. So far Im $2400 in the hole and Ill get the brake bill tomorrow. Hoping I can actually make it home tomorrow. Stay away from this place, no matter how badly you want the car.
An outstanding collection on consignment.
Wonderful old cars that are for sale.
Website said “ open”, when I got there door was locked. I could see people inside. Someone finally cracked door open, but told me I could not come in. I asked what if I want to buy something, and without a word he reluctantly let me in and went to his desk and sat down. Not even a hello, how may I help or anything. After I looked around in warehouse for about 20 minutes,I left, and again, no one said a word. Unbelievable that they are still in business. There were at least three other people at desks, no one acknowledged me. Someone in management needs to decide if they are going to be open or closed during Covid-19, and develop some kind of protocol for dealing with customers who show up at their door. Don’t waste your time shopping here...if you can even get in the front door!
I worked with Jeff Wright on a purchase. Although the deal eventually fell-through, Mr. Wright was extremely open, transparent, and helpful the entire time. I was new to the classic car scene and all the fine print; Mr. Wright eased my nerves and made great suggestions as we worked toward a purchase. I ended up passing on the car due to a bottom-line price the consignor needed. I had put a $1000 deposit on the car at the outset of the negotiation because I did intend to buy it; afterward, I had no problem getting a refund. I would recommend Gateway Classics of Atlanta to anyone looking for a great car and an honest car-buying experience.
Im very pleased with the car. I love it. Its so much fun to drive and ride in. Thanks for all your help with the purchase of the car. You have been so helpful. I was amazed at how well the photos and description matched the actual car. You have been super transparent throughout the transaction and I have been bragging about the dealership to everyone who asked where I bought the car. I have been impressed with Jeff Wright and the staff.
I live in Atlanta and I bought a car from an out-of-state Gateway Classic location, so I took the word of their Head of Sales, Chris Rockwell, that the vehicle was in great operating order. The pictures looked great, but I asked Chris how it drove. I was told that it was taken for a drive as part of the video photo shoot and that it drove great. Following delivery of the vehicle to my home i drove the vehicle and as I shifted into 3rd gear, it was clear there were major problems. I called Chris and shared with him that something was wrong. Upon his recommendation I called Atlanta Gateway Classic location and they recommended a mechanic. The mechanic looked at the vehicle and called me and told me to come into the service station, stating things are really bad with this vehicle. On the website here is some of what was stated:* We have had many Land Cruisers in our showroom and this one is by far the best we have ever seen here. This statement is being made by Gateway Classics, as the owner of the vehicle is not in a position to make statements regarding its quality relative to others that Gateway Classics has sold.Other statements included:* This Land Cruiser was recently restored from top to bottom, from front to back* The quality of restorations is highest of standards* Both the engine and transmission have less than 600 miles on them since rebuilt. On the website this company talks about our cars, but if you have a problem, they state that they are merely an advertising agency. Yet on their website it states, Our vehicles are published on several websites including... Our vehicles...They are clearly representing the quality of the vehicle. They drove the vehicle I purchased and told me it was in great running order. He is what the mechanic, referred to me by Gateway Classics told me and told Gateway Classics when they called:1. Front differential bearings are shot2. The “screaming” noise i was concerned about is coming from the gearing and training, also shot3. U Joint is shattered4. Pinion seal leaks and spider gears are bad5. Rear differential appears is shot6. Swivel leaks7. Timing cover and oil pan leaksGateway knew this vehicle was in terrible shape and never mentioned this to me.They did not once, in the more than dozen times I spoke with them in the selling process, suggest I have it inspected. They represent themselves as adding value and having skin in the game when selling the car, but if there is a problem they hide behind a contract that says they are merely an ad agency, like Craigs List. This is a scam. These guys are shysters. They are crooks. Honestly I do not know how they go home at night and look in the eyes of their family. Legally they may (or may not) be able to get away with this, but ethically I hoped they would do the right thing -- they refuse to offer any compensation whatsoever or take any responsibility whatsoever. They hung up on the owner of Glovers & Sons service station when he said that they should be ashamed of themselves for selling this vehicle without telling the buyer that it wasnt driving right. Now, I face over $10,000 in repairs on a vehicle I already spent $68,000 on. They will respond to this by citing quotes from their contract. Do not be fooled. That they may (or may not) be protected from acting and operating unethically doesnt take away the fact that they acted and operated, knowingly, unethically and refuse to accept any responsibility for this whatsoever. They are crooks. Bandits. Bad human beings.
The Gateway staff and selection are some of the best around. I discussed consigning an 80s hotrod F150 with Gateway, and everyone from the initiating representative to the showroom staff were friendly, responsive, realistic, and helpful. They treated me and my vehicle with respect even in the presence of six-figure classics. I ultimately needed to hold onto the truck for a while longer, but was nonetheless very happy with my experience at Gateway Classic Cars.
What great place.
I have consigned and sold 3 vehicles with Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta and all the deals went flawlessly. The communication with the staff was great throughout the process each time. The presentation of my vehicles was professional and accurate. All were helpful from the day I signed the consignment agreement to the time I picked up my checks. They sold my last car within a week. I highly recommend using their services.
I was very interested in an MG that Gateway Classic Cars had on consignment. I worked with Jason Livy for several weeks to get more information about the car and to start working on a deal. I traveled down to Atlanta, and ultimately the car was not for me. Despite the fact that the car was not a good fit for me and not exactly what I was looking for I had an exceptional experience with Jason. He was honest, easy to work with, and never pressured me. I would work with them again in the future to find my perfect car!
A must visit! Great selection of antique and modern cars. Good fun for a Saturday morning family outing.
Looking through all the C 2 photos on this sit, I found the 66 big block coup just like I had in high school. my wife picked out Jeffs photo so I called him, he answered all my questions. Jeff was very Knowledgeable and Professional. I talked it over with my wife and called back to make an offer. Jeff said the car was not at the showroom, my heart dropped all I could think of was the owner sold the car. This happened to me at a competitors showroom. Jeff called back to say the car was still for sale. We made an offer and Jeff worked work with both seller and us to make the deal happen. The car has matching numbers, Two Top Flight Awards and a Chevy Vette Fest Gold Spinner Award. Chris is very knowledgeable as well and knows his corvettes. Cant wait to pick my ride up. Ill be driving our Corvette with the windows down listening to those rumbling side pipes. Just like back in 1969 when I was driving my 427 400 HP black coup.
I purchased a vehicle contingent on delivery by a specific date as a birthday present. I was lied to and assured it would be delivered if I purchased. It’s 28 hours past the promised delivery date and nobody knows where the car is and will only tell me that their guarantee was worthless. The manager became very argumentative and unprofessional after I was finally able to speak with him. I’ve had to contact the police department to report the car stolen. Please do not do any sort of business with these con men.
I am so pleased that I chose Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta to help me sell my 1946 Chevy pickup. There was absolutely no pressure on me to sign with them and the whole process was straight forward and easy. The marketing was incredible with amazing detail preparation, photos and video. My truck sold in 16 days after it hit the Web. If youve got a classic to sell I truly believe this is the best way to sell. You dont have to deal privately with tire kickers or strangers coming to your door at odd hours of the day or night. It makes it very safe. Thank you GCC!!!
Awesome experience- it’s like an indoor car show with so many classic cars and trucks for sale. Staff is very friendly and happy to answer any questions and not pushy.
Regardless of the as is nature of the sales, there is an inadequate inspecrion done on cars, lack of transparency with customers and all the friendliness and customer service ends promptly upon the conclusion of the sale. Integrity is NOT a word I would choose to describe this operation. Be very careful if you have to deal with these people.
Purchasing a car while in California and the vehicle is in Atlanta, GA., without ever seeing it should be enough to make a person nervous. In my case, it was a non-issue because I was lucky enough to have Jeff Wright looking out for me. He answered every question, sent documents, replied to emails immediately, etc., and made this an extraordinary transaction. He didnt forget me after the sale either. I could write several pages about how he went above and beyond to assist me and made this purchase a truly satisfying experience. An individual like Jeff helps to restore your faith in mankind.
All I can say is BUYER BEWARE! This place does not check or guarantee any of these cars. They are nothing but a broker out for their money and do not care about the customer. I bought a 23 T-Bucket, drove it at Gateway and by time it was delivered to my home, the brakes were no longer working and the rack and pinion was broken. These are serious safety issues. I was told they had paperwork on the car from the previous owner and they did not provide anything. I am in the process of rebuilding the entire front end. If you plan to buy a car from Gateway, spend the money to have it inspected by a reliable mechanic first.
A couple of weeks ago I looked at some cars and was even able to test drive three of them in their back parking lot. I wasnt wowed over anything in stock at that moment but this week a car I was certainly interested in one that was on the floor.A salesman...no a salesman would want to sell a car, an employee open the hood and I notice the VIN plate was not were it should be at.....went to the door plate and it was illegible and seemed to be a reproduction. He disappeared and came back with keys to start up the engine with attitude.I asked about taking a test drive because I really dont mind if it was not original but would like to know what the car started out as. I was told that I will not be able to test drive unless I gave a deposit for purchase. Kind of puzzled, I asked why was I able to drive three cars the other week. No good answer and he just walked away from me. Literally shut the hood, turned off the engine and walked away.So my guess is after asking some simple questions about the VIN which could not be verified, they didnt want me to look any further into the car. Something just doesnt seem right here so Ill take my business to a dealer that can represent the car appropriately and I hope to find that perfect car. Sad to say it wont be here.
Awesome cars. They have it all.
Nice selection of classic cars to look at. Sales staff were very helpful.
Great place. Always fun to visit and enjoy the people and the cars.
Jason Livy, is the the Lead Sales Associate at Gateway/ Atlanta. He was was simply outstanding. Hes incredibly knowledgable and he truly understands the nuances of buying a high priced collector car. Jason works WITH you, as opposed to someone just trying to push through a sale. Hes keen to resolve any/ all issues in order to make sure that the customer feels fully satisfied when the deal is done.Highest marks for Jason.
Not happy that it takes weeks to ship out documents after company received funds, so i lost 2 bookings on international shipping, and the dealer lies about that document was shipped.
Great classic cars! Need to visit if you are a classic car fan.
Gateway is a bunch of crooks....stay away!!!Im generally okay with my experience. However, my complaints would be: 1.) It took almost a month for my car to be posted to your website after I dropped it off. 2.) The photos are of poor quality. The main photo is great, but all the others are poor. I was told that your corporate policy prohibited good photos....?? 3.) I would have to say that your website is a bit cumbersome and difficult to operate. In fact some of the functionality doesnt work on a smart phone. I suspect this limits exposure to qualified buyers significantly.
I rated them 1 because there werent any negative numbers. The car that I purchased with the salesmans recommendation turned out to be the biggest lemon disaster imaginable! I have had to put over $5000 into the car just to fix problems that were there when I purchased the car. For example there was a shop towel stuck in the cooling system and the radiator was half full of sand. The brakes were not roadworthy and required all new rotors and calipers...to name a few things. I would strongly recommend reviewing in detail and driving any car you consider buying from these guys..I thought this kind of lemon hustling was long gone.Beware...truth comes from personal inspectionI find it interesting that the “owner” refuses to comment or make any attempt to follow up with me.I would not recommend buying even a match box car from these schysters
Took a side trip to Atlanta while on a business trip to the east coast. Set up a test drive with Jason Livy, who was highly professional and knowledgeable. The car was waiting for me when I arrived. Purchasing paperwork was simple and well organized. Jason was expert at state to state transactions, and everthing was in order for my pilgrimage to the CA DMV. Shipping was expeditious. Car was shipped completely covered inside a closed truck, so arrived in showroom condition. I enjoyed kicking tires with a few of Jason’s colleagues while at the showroom. Everyone was friendly as could be, and very knowledgeable about their inventory. All seemed to truly enjoy their work. I can recommend Jason Livy and Gateway highly. Worth making the trip to the showroom, even though all the info on the web was detailed and spot on.
If you want to do business with these people just set $1500 on fire and consider yourself better off. If I knew how this would turn out I would have happily lit my money on fire instead.I have bought cars from their other warehouses before, but this location is hopeless.Talked on the phone, verified condition, sent a deposit and flew in to view it. Luckily we flew in as the car was nothing as described, it was not original paint as described, it did have rust as we were told it did not, there were a multitude of small but numerous issues and many things did not work. Then they did not want to refund the deposit as we were told they would if we were unhappy. Luckily the salesman stood up and said that we would get our deposit back and the boss harassed him for it.Spent over $1500 to fly in and fly out with hotel to get nothing. Also, they had us take the subway to access them, which in Atlanta goes straight through the ghetto instead of picking us up at the airport like EVERY OTHER dealer does. On the subway we were approached by a homeless person for money at length then threatened by him. The worst experience all round to get a car ever and I have bought dozens of collector vehicles under even questionable circumstances... at night. Pushy and obnoxious management bordering belligerent. Horrible company to do business with.
Questionable quality of the cars and massively overpriced in my opinion. I could be wrong but It appeared as though anyone could bring their car in to sell at any price they wanted. Most people think their car is worth more then it is and then Gateway added their commission making the cars overpriced. I saw cars with bodywork and rust showing up under the paint and they were asking top dollar for them.
I hesitated to respond at first but the more I think about it I get mad again. I dropped off my 428 Mach 1 on a Saturday around noon at the showroom and received a call around 3pm that the fan blade went through the radiator. How does this happen if it is driven responsibly? I had less than a 1000 miles on a rebuild. Ask me if I would turn my keys of a muscle car over to them again. Of course it could have just happened by accident.anyways a new electric fan and $1800 later I have it back after my contract expired. 2 may even be a high rating
The worst service ever. Wasting time. Will never come here again!
International buyers be aware!Gateway Classic Cars operate with an AS IS contract which is okay, but the tricky part is that the contract states As is presented to Gateway Classic Cars Not as is presented to you as the buyer.I bought a Rust-free car from them, literally without floors, that for safety reasons is impossible to register in Europe, and came nowhere with complaints since their AS IS contract free them of all responsibilities.
My husband drove 90 miles to the Alpharetta, GA location to purchase a 1940 Ford Coupe they had advertised. When he arrived, he was shown the car and told to wait for a salesman. After waiting about 30 minutes, he went into the office but was unable to find a salesman himself. About 30 minutes after that, another man came in and asked to see the same car. They sold the car to the other man for less than the asking price. (The man that had shown my husband the car said they had accepted an offer.) A salesman never did talk to my husband. He was there for nearly two hours and was ready to pay the full asking price - in cash.
Its like being at a car show everyday!
I dealt with Jason Livy I ended up buying 3 cars he organised everythingI would definitely recommend and deal with him again
Wish I had a lot more money. On the other hand do things now before its too late.
Nice variety of vehicles and a knowledgeable staff.
Great inventory, rude front staff.
Its a warehouse with cars in it. Some over priced, some reasonable. Staff was very nice
Great cars - always something new - Cars and Coffee last Saturday of the month is an excellent event - dont miss it!
My happy place! Lol
Lots of fun beautiful cars and professional staff and friendly.
Wonderfully easy and pleasent to deal with.......
I just had an exceptional experience with Gateway Classic Cars. We decided to sell our 1983 El Camino resto-mode. We had visited GCC many times in the past, so we thought rather than going through the hassle of selling it ourself we would contract GCC. That was certainly the right decision. The vehicle sold within ten days and five days later, we had our money.I would recommend Gateway Classic Cars to anyone wanting to sell a classic vehicle. The Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We will do business again!
Great classic cars selection indoor dealership great staff clean place a little on the expensive side but if your a car lover it doesn’t matter they have a nice car show every last Saturday of each month with free coffee and snacks lots of cars show up lots of car lovers to chat with about cars .
I recently purchased a classic car from Gateway in Atlanta Ga. Jeff Wright and the other staff were very helpful and knowledgeable in the process of the purchase of this car. I would highly recommend them.
Great place to visit, too many toys not enough money.
Buying a car from Gateway Classic Cars was a positive experience. Dealing with the back office to get the title and registration has been a nightmare! Its now been 2 months since I bought the vehicle and I am still waiting for tag and title. Meanwhile, Ive been getting the runaround from incompetent and singularly unhelpful office staff. Buyer beware!
Awesome inventory excellent prices knowledgeable staff
Solely for people shopping for high end vintage and exotic cars.
Great site very nice people to deal with
Amazing place. A must see for any auto enthusiast.
Very professional and helpful. A pleasure to deal with.
OMG..THIS PLACE IS FREAKING AWESOME !!!
