Good ice cream, good service. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and they even gave me a cone for my dog who was crying outside. I got chocolate with m and ms and the ice cream is very creamy and delicious. My only suggestion would be to chop the m and ms or use mini ones because the full size can be a bit much as a topping.

All of their ice cream is delicious, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. My family especially loves their ice cream cakes, with an extra side of cookie crumble! Today, March 2, is my sons birthday, and its always what he asks for -- some years they have opened ON his birthday for the season, but not this year. We appreciate them even more when we cant have them!

I went today excited to try a new and limited flavor that they posted on Instagram, when I asked to please try a sample the employees said no, I was confused because not even two weeks ago I went and an employee did let me try samples of ice cream.I, nicely, told them about my previous experience, and they all agreed in front of me that this employee do let the customer try ice cream samples, but they just wouldn’t do it.The ice cream can be good but if the customer service it’s bad and there are so many inconsistencies that’s pointless. I left feeling very disappointed, I believe on supporting small/local businesses but they need to meet up to the customer expectations and be consistent with the service that they provide.

Highly recommended by friends. Ordered lemon custard ice cream on our first try at the recommendation of the staff in a pint to take home. Not sure it if was liquor or way too much lemon extract but it tasted like kerosine. We tossed the whole thing.

Love this ice cream shop. I remember coming in and being excited to pick my mixing and they would mix everything for me right there on the counter. They are great,ast time I checked they were cash only. I recommend coming in for something sweet. There sorbet is also really great! I have had their ice cream cakes before as well and they are awesome!

Love this place! We come here many times through the season that they are open and every time it is fantastic. Their flavors are all really good and their toppings are very yummy. Everything is a great value here and you can tell it is a local favorite by the constant chiming of the door opening and closing.

Great neighborhood ice cream shop. If there is a line it usually moves pretty quick. Rotating monthly flavors, sometimes limited run flavors, and the standards are all good. Plus they have mix-ins available. Would really recommend the frappes too.

The ice cream is great but FYI. If your looking for anything other than a quart don’t waste your time. Just went there with my wife and Son after a long day at work craving a frappe and my wife want a cup of strawberry. Was told by the owner that there only selling quarts which everyone knows are a bit overpriced, until he can get his full staff back. Meanwhile there’s him and another gentleman in the shop. That’s nonsense if you ask me. Suit up and start whipping up frappes, cones and cups of ice cream. Your basically telling me that two people can’t fulfill non quart ice cream orders. Place has gotten a bit yuppy over the years if you ask me. What a shame.

Cozy location in lower Mill, cash only but there is an ATM inside. I had the sorbet... Delicious. Probs are generous, everything is made on site. News paper on walls details 40 year history. A must stop for dessert or just an afternoon treat.

They icecream is always made fresh. Get there early because they are known to sell out of some flavors. This just makes you try another flavor, and next thing you know you have new favorite.

Awesome, just awesome ice cream. But its in a really tough location for any customer, but most especially elderly customers to park get to. Parking is scarce. Its on a main road so sitting on the bench with a boisterous dog was difficult, but the noise from cars and buses was a little too much for this country mouse. Open another location, a little less urban!Thanks for the great ice cream.

I had bad experience on my first visit there. Found a big string of hair when I was half through, I quietly approach the counter and told one of the employee and she never apologized. She offered to make new one but I told her I was all set. This would be my family’s first and last time there!

As a woman of color and a lifetime resident of Dorchester, I have visited this establishment several times over the years and each and every time Ive felt rushed and disregarded as a customer.I understand people have bad days, but each and every time I visited this establishment, I was met with blantant disregard and other people of non-color were welcomed and met with a smile, patience and niceties.Now after having read all of the reviews here,I see a few other people of color have experienced what Ive gone thru, and I know its not in my head about the racism Ive experienced.Ill keep my money and patronize an establishment that respects ALL of their customers. The ice cream is awesome (5 star) and they can mix in topping to create thousands of flavor combos. My favorite is vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cup mix in and peanut sauce. Knocked off one start because thier service is usually good but sometimes they close early or get frustrated with the small space and long lines.

Ive been trying it for the last 7 years because I live close by and hoped it would improve. The texture is nice. However the lack of favor is overwhelming in an underwhelming fashion. Not worth the money in that case. Ive taken friends and family and everyone shares the same sentiment. But I see some people really like it, so just differences in taste perhaps.

This has been my favorite ice cream ahop since I was a kid. Their home made ice cream is always the best! Weve passed this tradition onto the next generation as well. My father brings my neices and nephews on the trolley for an adventure to the ice cream smith and they love it!

We had many family members visit from New York and various parts of Massachusetts so what better way to enjoy the night with ice cream from The Ice Creamsmith? The workers were very patient and accommodating even though my family wanted the huge tub with 12 scoops. We got to order 10 minutes before they closed and greatly appreciate it because I hate being, that guy. The ice cream was great to go along with great service. If you have the opportunity, be sure to try the blueberry ice cream. Im not a fan of blueberries but the ice cream was delicious. Do remember, this place is cash only.

Yesterday, I went into the store and ordered an ice cream. The way I was treated next was shocking to say the least. My ice cream was placed on a counter in the back (vs it being handed to me) while my companion placed her order and received her order in her hands - immediately. The guy behind the counter gave me a hand gesture for payment - after which I received my ice cream. Suffice it to say I felt as though that was direspectful enough that I will never go to this establishment again. I did feel as though that approach was taken because I am a person of color.

The selection wasnt the best and the ice cream was only okay. The place didnt look super clean and there were flies all over the place. It was small and cramped.
