All around good, quality service. Rich at the front desk was amazing and very helpful. Clean and convenient waiting space that has complimentary coffee and water. This was my first time and I will definitely return.

Have been a long time customer at this location. Always the best service! Today I had what I thought was a screw in my tread. They checked out my tire and the other 3 tires as well and tested all for leaks. All this at no charge!! I will always recommend this Ithaca NY location if you want great honest service and great tires!!

A close friend recently used this shop while she was traveling. The service was good, and the people were friendly, however, they took advantage of the situation and overcharged her. Im guessing the owner will give a Im sorry you feel that way reply to this review, but its an impersonal and inadequate response.She was charged $1,200 dollars to install a reconditioned (not new) alternator and battery. Its really infuriating, and theres probably a lot of ways you can spin it to justify that cost, but its not okay.Its places like this that seem trustworthy from the reviews, but ultimately still operate in a dishonest and opportunistic way when youre a women traveling alone.TL:DR - they charged $1,200 dollars to install a reconditioned alternator and battery.

Friendly. Great service. We are from out of state (WI) on vacation and have 2 month old Goodyear tires. One has a very slow leak. They not only filled that tire with air but checked to make sure all tires were pressurized correctly and told us what to watch for on the trip home. All at no charge. I would definitely go here for service if I lived here.

We were 4.5 hours from home when we realized there was a large screw in our tire. It was the day before Easter and already in the afternoon and we could have been trapped. The team at Goodyear fit us in, and patched the tire without needing a full replacement, and it was free! Everyone was friendly and nice and helpful. The tire patch even made it the long drive home without issue.

I have a heavily modified 2017 Volkswagen and something I often struggle with is finding someone who I can trust to do the services I can not do myself.I would highly recommend the gentleman working at Goodyear to anyone looking for a outside-dealer option for their vehicle service needs, for the past 4 months both my fiance and myself have been going to Pete and Justin for our vehicle services.They have proven themselves more than capable to service the MANY quirky vw recommended services.10/10 for top notch service bring your cars to goodyear!!!

Before I share my experience, I want to note that team member Kevin at Goodyear was very professional and courteous to myself and my daughter in person and over the phone. That being said, what transpired this week is worthy of a detailed review for the future benefit of the public.My daughter brought her car into Goodyear for a synthetic oil change for her Mazda 3. When Goodyear technicians removed the aluminum oil pan they inadvertently stripped the thread (or may have been already stripped) to the bolt that holds it in place. Kevin quoted my daughter a cost for the total repair (new pan, oil change & filter included) at close to $1,400. Kevin shared that the pan was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. He also noted that previous attempts to rethread pans had failed so Goodyear could not stand behind any repair.Upon calling some competitors in the area, we found a shop that quoted a total cost for the oil change and replacement of the oil pan at less than half of what Goodyear quoted us. Additionally, this other shop noted that the stripping of the threads to the bolt of the pan was a VERY common issue for Mazda cars and although he never promised they could do it, he stated every attempt would be made and that theyve done it successfully for years. We had the vehicle towed over, and within 3 hours, they were able to repair the existing pan and complete the oil change.Total Bill: $97.00I am not stating that Goodyear was trying to take advantage of my daughter (a student at Ithaca) because she has 0 knowledge of cars. That would be an accusation of being unethical. However, given the relative ease and commonality of the repair, I think its fair to question the quality of the mechanics they employ at this location. Two stars given due to the courteousness of the staff, 0 stars would have been given in judgement of their capabilities/talent.Moral of this story: Always get a second opinion.

I bought a full set of tires for my truck. Goodyear Wrangler SRAs. This is the third set on my truck. They always last at least 45K miles with more to go.I set the appointment online, went to the store in Ithaca, and along with balancing, mounting, alignment check, and oil change, I was out of there in about 2 hours.The waiting room and restrooms are very clean and the staff is friendly and attentive.

Pete and Damion were knowledgeable and kind. The lobby/waiting room was clean and I was able to use their WiFi to complete work on my computer while I waited. The work done on my car is of great quality!

Last winter my daughters car died while I was visiting her for the weekend - battery issues - AAA came out, jumped it, but it proceeded to die again leaving us in a bad spot being this happened on a Sunday. Thankfully This shop was open and Peter Macananny - the store manager saved the day! We were able to get the car towed to him and he was kind enough to fit us in and get my daughter up and running in under 3 hours! On a Sunday! Thanks to Peter, and thanks the the staff for saving the day and lifting a load of worry off my shoulders! Use them for your automotive needs, I highly recommend!

We hit a bad pot hole while driving through and got a flat. We called the nearest tire store which happened to be Good Year, and they were able to get us right in. They quickly changed the tire and at a great price. Great service, much appreciated.

They do a good service most of time I go in but over the past year has definitely changed. I take my girlfriends car in for service and then wait what feels like an eternity to get it back. I went outside to smoke and I noticed there’s only 3 guys working in the shop while there’s 4 people working one desk. Not sure if ownership changed or if it’s corporate owned but seems like they are going down hill and maybe closing soon or understaffed due to pandemic? Wouldn’t recommend using them unless you plan on going the whole day without a vehicle or are extremely patient

The manager Pete and his crew at the Ithaca location are ANGELS! Pete really helped us out of a sticky situation. We were on our way home from a camping trip and happened to get a flat tire on the truck while towing our 36ft fifth wheel camper! It was a disaster! His store was one of the few locations still open on a Sunday and they even stayed a little bit late to help us get a new tire for the truck. Thank you sooo much Pete! The worst place they charged $ 953.00 to replace the alternator with refurbishing one on a Toyota Camry. my son from long island NY goes to college there. AAA towed the car there big mistake and up paying $1,500.00 the car haded a new battery they charged $22.00 to check the battery and install a new one for $ 127.00 and keep the one the car had. be careful Im very disappointed thief thief

We had _outstanding_ service at the Goodyear Auto Service Center in Ithaca. We stopped on Sunday December 1 in the middle of a terrible snowstorm because our car posted a low oil pressure warning. Peter Macananny, the manager, was calm and professional despite the constant phone calls. The team at Goodyear checked the vehicle, found a relatively inexpensive failed component, and had it back to us in record time. They were obviously busy with customers needing tires in a winter storm, but we were impressed with how professional and gracious they were through the whole process. Were grateful they could help us in between the other work they were doing.We would definitely visit the Ithaca Goodyear for service again.

I got a flat tire on my way home from a trip out of town - I called Goodyear the next morning to see if they had any availability. Pete instructed me to leave the car with them for the day and they would work on it as soon as the people with scheduled appointments were taken care of. I was completely convinced that my car needed a new tire. Pete called me a few hours later saying that my car was fixed and they were able to patch up my tire for free! The staff was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions! I am overjoyed with the service and will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Brought my vehicle in for an oil change and to repair a tire with a persistent, slow leak. The shop was very shorthanded that day but they managed to work me in without a prior appointment. They found a very small, partial piece of a screw that was embedded within the tire and repaired it free of charge per a promotion that was offered at the time. Peter (the employee who handled everything with my car that day) was incredibly flexible, professional and informative. Will be going to this location again.

At this very moment, I’m sitting on the side of the road with my kids. My Jeep broke down and AAA asked where I wanted to tow it, giving me this Goodyear as one of my options. I called them to ask whether they could take it and about the repair. The guy cuts me off and says, and I quote: “Look, I don’t have time to deal with you, I have customers coming out of my ears. We wouldn’t even be able to take your car until next week anyway.” Then he hung up! No goodbye or anything! Meanwhile here I am with two screaming kids in the blistering heat. Thanks, nasty Goodyear guy. Little do you know I drive rust heap cars all the time and you just lost a potentially regular customer. Joke’s on you, buddy!But seriously don’t bring your car here.

I am from California and live in Philadelphia. For three years, I had the good fortune of stumbling upon this wonderful, ethical service center. Their staff goes above and beyond. No B.S. upcharges or fake service recommendations (I am a woman and get this all the time at other places -- lets look at the belt youre telling me needs replacing together, I usually have to say).One time, I was about to pay for a tire replacement they had completed and the serviceman told there was a deal going on, and that there would be no charge. I am writing this now, as Ive struggled to find places as ethical and quality as them elsewhere!

I broke the ends off two frozen lug bolts on my car while changing a tire on Saturday morning. My usual tire shop and mechanic were either closed or had no appointments for a week. These guys didnt say, come back some other time. They said, leave the car with us and well do our best to fit it in. I dropped it off at 1pm on Saturday and they called at 5pm to say that it was ready. Fantastic service. I will be back for more.

They were able to squeeze me in on super short notice the day before Thanksgiving so I would make the drive to visit family safely. I wouldnt have been able to make the trip otherwise, one of my tires was cracking between the treads. They also got it done super quickly! Really nice people, awesome service, decent prices for goodyear tires, highly recommend.

I had to bring in my car on short notice and they not only got me in immediately but the repair was completed before closing time. I have been in customer service for many years and the customer service I have gotten from Mark and Pete at Goodyear is as good as it gets. Very highly recommended.

I took my car there because they were open on Sunday and I needed to drive that day, and I had a deflated tire. I went in for a tire repair. I was informed that my tire is not repairable, and that I needed to get a new set of 4 tires. I agreed, and it cost me $660 to do all of this. I had to wait about 3 hours as they chatted with another patron about selling them a car. No problem, I just wanted my car fixed. So I wait. At the end, I am informed that everything is done, and that the car died while it was in the shop and they needed to jump-start it. No problem, I pay my fee and go the my car. Literally after a minute of driving away, I notice that the SRS airbag light is on. I had no time and had to drive out of town. So I came back Tuesday, and told them. The manager was there, and he immediately told me it wasnt their fault, and that it was a coincidence. Now, I am aware that a simple tire change shouldnt have affected the SRS, but I simply cannot believe that such a coincidence can take place. It is, in my opinion, far more likely that something went wrong due to some mistake they made. They flat out refused to even make a compromise, or to even check for what may have been wrong with the SRS. They did not care about my dissatisfaction, and the manager was more than happy to give me the number where I an file a complaint.I took the car to a Honda dealer. They checked the problem and found that the SRS Unit has to be changed. I asked them if this could have been caused by what they did, they said that anything it possible, but they doubt it. Regardless, as a customer, and as someone who understands probability, I simply refuse to believe that a fault appears out of nowhere right after a mechanic works on my car, doing who knows what. Nobody can prove to me, or to themselves, that the particular mechanic did everything by the book and made no mistakes, since no one was watching. Perhaps he didnt jump start it right..Perhaps the equipment he used to jump-start it has some fault and created electrical shock and blew out the unit.Now I have to pay another $600 to fix this problem, that is most likely caused by what they did, and I wont be able to prove it. Whats important is that, they did not entertain the possibility that they caused this, and refused to have anything to do with it. If customer satisfaction is important to you, you dont simply dismiss your customer. You offer them a help, you offer to check out the problem, to see if it could be something you caused. Even if you can prove you did everything right, at least offer to pay some of the cost, even a small symbolic token. They were so far away from that, that my dissatisfaction caused me to write this review.

We were visiting Ithaca and got both tires on one side punctured by something in the Ithaca College parking lot. AAA towed our minivan to Goodyear. When I read the reviews I got a little nervous, but they were extremely courteous, fast, and fixed both our punctures for $0 as they had a special offer. It was great we were able to get our car back quickly as the 6 of us otherwise had to go by taxi. Goodyear explained the followup Honda suggested as well. We were very happy with all aspects of our service here and would recommend it.

I purchased all four of my tires from Goodyear. This morning I hit a deep pot hole and my front tire was flat. I had to call a tow company to help with putting on my spare. With the snow coming I need the tire replaced or fixed. Well all the salesperson said was they were booked 10 ahead or I could come down and wait all day to see if maybe they could fix me in. They have lost my business. The Maguire service people were awesome to me and my car is fixed.

I have taken both my cars here multiple times, and Im pleased with the service they provide. When I was really stuck once, they gave me a ride to my other car -- certainly not something I expected, and probably not their regular practice, but they offered and I appreciated it.I have found them to be reliable and straight-forward. I continue to go to them, even though theyre not super-convenient. (The old location was a lot better; I probably wouldnt have started going to them back then if they were where they are now, if that makes any sense.) The Tim Hortons next door makes it more manageable, though.

I had a great experience with this particular Goodyear. The assistant service manager that I worked with, Peter, did a great job of communicating with me and fixing up my vehicle. He completed the job in a timely manner as well. Would go to again.

I LOVE these guys! Ive had like 15 different mechanic shops in my life and this is the first place to not make up repairs, not have me fix something before it needs to be done, and actually let me see what theyre talking about fixing and explain it SO WELL.Theyve always been nice, professional, and do their best.But bring your own coffee.

Ive finally had enough of this company. In one case they had to replace my rotors three times in the period of about 4 months. They finally blamed me for riding the brakes too much, but I hadnt changed my driving style in 30 years. One guy candidly said that the rotors they get are pot metal that easily rusts and warps, and all of their suppliers produce junk. Youd think Id swear them off, but I recently took advantage of a tire sale and bought two new tires from these guys. I had a strange feeling coming back to them and my instincts were right. Almost immediately it developed a slow leak. They said there was no punctures and that I probably hit something hard like a curb and that it was my fault. Nothing like that ever happened during that time, and Im convinced it was improperly installed. Naturally with no way to prove this I was stuck. Shame on me for going back. I will definitely take my business to a local place where they value developing relationships with customers.

I highly recommend them because, they dont oversell they do everything I ask them to do. Very helpful honest loyal friendly they give you the proper wait times. Whoever the manager is at the Ithaca good year they should be very pleased with the whole staff. I will never go anywhere else to get anything done on my vehicle .

I had a minor emergency last Saturday. I had a tire rapidly going soft, and I had to be at work by 1130. I rolled into Goodyear a little after 9. The tire was not repairable and I had no spare. They trucked me across town in a Goodyear vehicle to get my snows from home. This was about 1015. The snows were mounted by 1100. I had time to go home and put on work clothes and I was actually early to work! The staff went out of their way to accommodate me. I couldn’t be happier!

So greatful for the guys at this shop! I was visiting Ithaca for the weekend and they were able to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday to repair a loose heat shield under my car before my long drive home. Affordable and very friendly. Also gave us awesome recommendations for things to do in our trip!

Total swindlers, go elsewhere. they straight up lied to me, i came in with 2 flat tires and they told me I had to replace all 4 because it was company policy. I had to have my car towed there, they told me if I didnt like it to go somewhere else. I should mention that 2 of the tires on the care were jst replaced a month ago. They said they did not care. I had to replace all 4 or go elsewhere. I will be towing the car elsewhere tomorrow.

I went here to get my car inspected and they said I would need to pay $500 dollars to pass inspection and then suggested I pay another $1200 to fix my brakes. I had work done at Goodyear before I went in for my inspection and after my inspection the mechanic said whoever fixed my car previously (AKA Goodyear) installed one of my pipes wrong. They didnt even offer to fix it for free. Then I went to Trombley and they said my car passed inspection. When I asked them to look at my breaks they said it would only cost $400 to fix them. Please be careful when going here and get a second opinion.

Their system(s) are terrible, and your inability to service customers are even worse. I have made appointments and be unable to cancel or change due to being on hold forever. I made an appointment for a NYSI, oil change, and tire rotation a week ago for 8:30AM on Saturday 6/1/2019. I was planning to drop off my vehicle Friday 5/31 so they could have it first thing to complete the work. I called today to confirm my appointment and told them I planned to pick up my car at 12:00PM Saturday. Was told that could would likely not get to it until the afternoon??????????I have in the past years spent a lot of money at the Good Year store at the Elmira Rd store in Ithaca, NY, and recommended this store to many people. I will never again visit or recommend this place as their customer service, and lack of communication is non existent.

I kept going back because I had a Goodyear credit card and if I needed work done that I couldnt afford, I could charge it. But, they have always been rude and not just to me, but in general, most especially Joe. This morning was the absolute last straw. I called for an appointment to get an oil change and snow tires taken off and all seasons put on. I also asked about getting a rear tail light replaced. Joe called to find out how much a new tail light would cost and then returned my call to tell me it would be ~$150 for the tail light and then an hour labor to put it on. I asked if I bought it on eBay if the shop would put it on for me. He immediately said NO with no explanation. I could tell he was unhappy I asked. Then, he proceeded to tell me he had reviewed my history and that last spring they wouldnt put on my all seasons because all four were no good and did I buy new ones. I said, yes, I did (I bought them from a local mechanic because I didnt trust Goodyear so I left there and got a second opinion). He didnt believe me and said, You know were going to check them out before we put them on. I laughed and said, Im not lying to you. He really thought I was lying to him and tried to call me out on it. This guy has always treated customers this way. Ive seen it every time Im in there. Today was the last straw. Im going somewhere else where they know customer service.

We bought snow tires from them on a good deal for black-friday a couple years back. We have continued to go back to have them do the snow/summer tire swap. They have always been helpful and accommodating, even for last minute appointments if we can drop off the car for the day to get the work done.

I went back on Tuesday and Pete was there being very rude and nasty with me about how he doesn’t have time for me today... wouldn’t even listen to me trying to tell him I scheduled ahead. Not even one star!!Worst experience ever.I went there with overheat problem and leak from the water tank.They charged me half hour for diagnosis for the leak and the overheat andafter around 3 hours they finally found a hole in the tank and for an otherSIX HOURS they couldnt find the overheat problem. (I asked them to check the thermostat and they told me that its not this!!)I asked them if the water goes into the engine, and the answer was:I ASSUME IT DOES!!I brought my car back to long Island and in 4 hours I had everything fixed!!They replaced thermostat and water pump! Plus they did oil and filter change.In other worlds stay away from the Goodyear in Ithaca!!!!

Was in town for a trip and headlight went out -- was in and out on a Sunday in 40 minutes AND took a hike (5 min walk!) to buttermilk while waiting. Mark (store manager) was awesome!

This is not an honest business.My wife and our five year old daughter took our 2004 Outback in to get a NY state inspection. We had forgotten and were overdue. They said that the serpentine belt was falling out and failed us. They wanted $115 and said that would pass us today. Fortunately my wife felt like something was fishy (first guy said cracked, second guy said falling out) did not agree to do the service.Three months ago we had recently paid to have our belt replaced at another shop. At first I gave Goodyear the benefit of the doubt. When we had the belt replaced we also had a lot of other work done, and were under a tight deadline. Perhaps the other shop accidentally neglected that repair? No. A visual inspection showed that this was definitely not the case. The belt was in pristine condition.I went back the next day and had them reinspect the car. It passed. I then brought the manager out to the car, showed him the belt and showed him his estimate from the previous day saying that the belt was “falling out”. He brought his team out including the tech who had previously inspected the car. Each of them played dumb making statements similar to “I don’t know what happened”, “It did not look like that yesterday”, “Maybe we made a mistake, maybe not”. Their response was totally non-apologetic and unsatisfactory.This was not a mistake. No one could look at that belt and think it needed replaced let alone warrant a failure of inspection. In this instance we were fortunate in that we only had to pay the $10 re-inspection fee, but I do plan to follow up with the district manager and potentially NY state DMV.It sickens and angers me that there are businesses out there that try to take advantage of women with children by lying to them about services that they do not need. This is one of those businesses. Do not give them a dime.

I recommend this buisness to my daughter because of name recognition. She went in with a soft tire. Because it was near closing time the only thing they did for her was put some air in it and sent her on her way. I find it very upsetting that you would let a young girl go without repairing her tire. She woke up the next morning with a flat tire and no way to get to work. When a young student comes to a repair shop with a soft tire I would think the main objective of a reputable business would be to make sure she leaves with the needed repairs to ensure her safety. I would not recommend this business to anyone because safety should always come first!

Well, they say they’re a “tire shop” but I’m not quite sure they are. Maybe they just sell them and then you have to take them to another box store like “Mavis” to get them properly balanced??????I unfortunately lost three days of work because Ricky Bobby in the back couldn’t get wheel weights on correctly, or maybe the one guy with experience just never took the time to show Ricky how to do it properly.I’m seriously disgusted on how these men up front at the desk handled my situation, nobody there ever expressed any apologies or a “we’ll make it right attitude”.I don’t typically leave bad feedback for anyone or any business but I felt it was absolutely necessary in the case.Folks, stay away from the corporate businesses! Absolutely terrible!! Do not go here! I just had two tires to be replaced and one needed a hole patched. The said the couldnt patch the hole(I did it at home fine), they somehow messed upall my lug nuts and replaced them with crappy ones and then striped the thredding on one of the wheels. They didnt tell me about this and instead told me because they were alloy wheels Id need to return at some point to tighten them?!? So pissed!

Had my daughters car towed there when it wouldnt start. I wasnt sure what to expect after reading the reviews, but they did a great job. Joe diagnosed the problem quickly. He didnt try to sell her anything I didnt need. In and out of there for less than $100!

Fixed my flat for free and topped off my brake fluid! I had my doubts with chain stores but after I had a bolt sink into my tread @ Autozone the clerk told me to go across the street to Goodyear for a free fix. Not only did they repair my tire free of charge but the Techs were nice enough to notice my spongy bake pedal from a previous home job and flushed/ removed the air in my lines. I had been stressing about it for too long because its often very expensive for my car and they just took care of it! Thanks!

They are good for tire changes and balance, but they are terrible with front end alignments. The Tech their complained about some surface rust and he had to heat up the tie-rod ends. He managed to dial everything in but my car still veers to the right but not as much.Now I have to go back and have him to check it again because he is still slightly off.

Went in for a n alignment and single brake line fix. The total should be no more than $200. kevin the service guy turned around and said you need 4 brake lines 3 of which we are going to replace but they are not broken but they could brake in the future. duh.. everything has potential to break. Also tried charging me to get a new wheel bearing when the tire could have simply been repacked. also they tried to charge me for the pieces that you bleed the brake with. they said in case they break when we take them off. i said okay can i stand there and watch from out side behind the glass/plastic door when you take those off to make sure you are being honest . Pete, Kevin, and Mark said that i could not hold them accountable from the parking lot with the door shut by watching them. So ultimately they gave me an invoice/estimate for $585 .... So they lost a customer plus the $200 dollar sale they could have had. Please be aware of what needs to be done on your vehicle and what does not need to be done. I am sure there are people out there that would have just gave in to them and let them rip them off by doing unnecessary work. They will say it is just options we give you but to every person out there that is not a mechanic. the garages word should be good. Shame on you Kevin, Pete, Mark. I think the worst part was they did not even offer to simply just do the work i asked to get done originally. They are giving Goodyear a bad name in this town. The large decrease in business is proof of there bad management. i do hope things can get better for the sake of the other employees there. Dishonest business practices! My partner and I have used their services numerous times... they are convenient to where we live, and are usually available, even on weekends. BUT I REFUSE TO BE TEMPTED AGAIN. They engage heavily in the practice of ALWAYS finding something wrong with your car that you didnt expect, and trying to talk you into fixing it. The last straw was a $1000+ estimate for essential work that another service station saw as unnecessary at the time. I would prefer taking my business to an establishment that was willing to give me honest estimates, rather than taking advantage of me to fill their empty bays.
