Willcox doesn’t advertise it, but I believe they’re clearly in the windshield repair business as a side hustle.Have spent $1000s there on tires, brakes and the like... and had been happy with getting called back quickly and efficiently.But a year ago upon getting our ride back from inspection (which passed) there was a nice deep chip in the windshield. I gave the benefit of the doubt even though it was straight in the driver side sight line considering the inspection passed.This year it was my wife who took the car in... sure enough we failed inspection, not for the crack that was already there, but somehow that crack turned into a spiderweb during inspection along with a few others. Last time I checked NYS doesn’t require an impact test for vehicle inspections.So to top it all off when my wife protested what was clearly new damage (that inspectors claimed “was already there” or “must have happened from body torque in being put on the lift”), they sent her off without failing our inspection, without giving us a sheet, without scraping the current inspection, or even having to pay the fee.Interesting.No wonder they are one of the few non-national tire shops that offer free tire rotation (an opportunity to find something wrong with your vehicle). I rotate my own tires anyway so I assure anyone out there that I’ve put more torque on my car’s frame than they would with a lift.Attached are pictures of the spiderweb they thought we drove into the shop. Unbelievable. Classic attempt to take advantage of a woman driver with a beat up road warrior. Too bad for them she isn’t a moron and knows how to hold her ground. They couldn’t get her out of the shop fast enough.

Provided good service in testing and replacing my trucks battery. Not the poshest joint in town, but I wasnt looking for that. I was looking to support a local business and save money.

For Me... Not Good! Appointment Was For 11:00. They Asked If Im Leaving The Car Off. I Said No. How Long Could It Take For 4 New Tires. They Didnt Pull My Car Until 1:00. They Finish at 2:30. They Said It Was a Busy Day. Then Dont Make My Appointment at 11:00! Now My Low Pressure Symbol Is Showing:(

Went in for a tire repair, it didn’t hold up, they gave me a used tire for my original patch price. During pandemic. these guys rule. A lot of places will make sure they get some something out of your pocket out everytime you come in, not these guys. Refreshing

Rude when I dropped off the car to get tires placed. Than after only one month refused to cover my tire under warranty. Will not go to them ever again.

Is zero stars an option?I took my car down because my check engine light was on and I wanted to know why. This is some pretty day one mechanic stuff. I sat there for two and a half hours before the mechanic came out and told me that:1)I should take my car to another mechanic.2)they werent even certified to check my brand of car.3) that he also had no idea what was wrong, but could turn my light off anyway so we could see what happens.After getting my keys back, I was asked to pay $37 dollars after just being told that they did nothing to my car. I figured it was because they turned the light off, but as soon as I pulled out of the lot, the light came back on. I called back to ask what exactly I paid for and was then told by the mechanic that he provided me a service before hanging up on me. If youre feeling extra charitable one day, then go ahead and throw Wilcox a bone so they can send their mechanics to school. However, if you actually want your car to get fixed then I would recommend literally anywhere else. (yes that is the correct use of the word literally.)

I got to spend a day inside And watch how professional the guys are. There is a lot more to just changing your tires theres balancing and seems etc.

I had a flat tire and was at the nearby carwash trying to change it. Someone stopped to help me & said he worked here. Another passerby saw my Mazda jack wasnt clearing height for the spare & helped with a better jack. So, my tire was repaired fast here and I saw the small pinhole type leak, it looked legitimately worn They also inflated the spare. It was $45.

Fair deal, no upselling, nothing fancy, just good, honest mechanics.

Wife went there today to get an inspection. The told my wife that the car was not safe and that she needed to have front chassis replaced and the rear control arms both needed replacing. When i called and spoke to them they told me that the front tires had 3 inches of play in them and that they would not pass it until all this work was done. It only took 2 seconds talking to them to know they were trying to play my wife like so many other places in Ithaca. I took the car to two other shops to make sure that her car was safe and neither of them could find anything wrong with it. I had one of them measure the play in the front end and it was not even and 8th inch. So this place is just another place to mark of your list as honest. I cant stand people trying to take advantage of others simply because they feel they can. If all that stuff was wrong with her car they would have been willing to show it to me when i told them i was on my way don there to see for myself.

Great service. As someone who knows very little about cars, I find I can trust these folks to be honest with me and not take advantage of my ignorance.

I have had a good Experience Buying tires at Wilcox. They customer service has been good, in my opinion and I’ve been going there since I moved to Ithaca in 2011.

Very reasonable. Dropped my lawnmower tire off that kept going flat. They fit me in and tubed the tire for $25.00. Good deal. Thanks to Shea and the others at Wilcox.

This place is the worst, they charged me 35 dollars for a flat fix. What a rip off. I bet the only people that have given this place a good review are, the ones who work there. In the store front it says tire repair service center. What a place to rip people off...I thought Manhattan is expensive, never mind......

Friendly and helpful as well as locally owned. They wont RIP you off like the company stores and tell you you need something you dont.

Good tire buying experience..four Michelins mounted cost less than Tire Rack, without all the handling of four tires and finding a place to mount them.

Worst auto place Ive been to in ithaca.. I went because they are the only shop in the area that carries my size tire. I purchased two tires and was told i needed two balljoints replaced (ended up finding out i only needed one..). Less than two months later (on Friday) one of the new tires pops from going less than 15 mph over pot holes. I get a spare on and come back to ask for a new tire. I showed them multiple tears in the tire and the hole where it actually popped and told them I had just bought the tire and wanted a replacement. He puts the rim on a new tire, doesnt offer to put it on the car (I didnt have a problem putting it on but was told they are required to offer) and charges me full price for the tire. I call to speak with a manager on Monday (after talking to two mechanics one being Cole and they assured me that should not happen to a new tire..), explain the situation and he says if it was only three days ago they should still have the old tire. When he goes to check, he puts the guy who sold the tire to me on the phone. He immediately starts off aggressively telling me I am wrong and i didnt show them any tears (which I did..) and proceeds to tell me that they dont have the tire because it has been over a week.. He keeps going on trying to come up with any excuse as to why he wont refund me, accusing me of driving recklessly over potholes/curbs, etc. I continue calming explaining what actually happened and he ends up cutting me off, yelling youre not getting a refund! And hanging up on me. Worlds worst customer service ! 0 out of 10!

Took my 2011 infiniti for the NYS inspection, firstable took a long time and the next noticed a noise and the car was running raugh and I call them and explain made an appointment back again and now they came up with problem in my car that is gonna cost me over 500, worst customer service ever and rude employees
