Bought these awesome frames to wear as readers. Had an eye exam to be told that I needed progressive lenses. Got my glasses and tried wearing them for 4 days. Major headaches and couldn’t see so I stopped wearing them. I called Pearl Vision in Livonia and they scheduled me to see the doctor again. I get there to be told my appointment was the next day even though when scheduling I was told it was the day that I went. Here I am with a pair of $350 glasses that I can’t wear. I found out that the doctor gave me the smallest prescription at the top and my readers at the bottom so that insurance would cover it. He gave me a prescription at the top that I didn’t need. After wearing Dollar Store readers since March, I just called them again to inquire how much it would be to get readers at the bottom and glass at the top so that I don’t have to constantly put glasses on and off. They told me that since it’s been over 6 months, I will need to get another exam and that’s $79. So spend more money for another exam after being given a prescription that I didn’t require? WTH! I do not recommend Pearl Vision for your eye glass needs.

The exam I got here was the most anxiety induced exam Ive ever had. I sat in the chair and told the doctor that I couldnt tell a difference between number one or two and that they both looked blurry and was told to just pick one which to me doesnt feel right. Im very near sighted and have an astigmatism. Add on top of that my balance issues and the wrong prescription just spells out disaster which is what I ended up with. My two glasses from here were wrong and no matter how many times I tried to get it fixed I was just told, I dont know what to tell you. This is what you have. Which not a fan of feeling dismissed. To this day I ordered a pair of glasses in 2019 trying to give them another chance and have yet to be notified if theyre in and dont have time to waste on hold.

They did a great job of taking care of me and well hi prescription. The glasses that I received I love them it’s a beautiful frame fits my face well and my lenses are great as well too. And I’ve never ever had lenses so thin in my life before it’s wonderful I can look like everyone else now.

Staff is very nice and friendly, they make you feel right at home, and go out of their way to help you and service is very quick and professional. Highly recommend to everyone.

This was my first time visiting Pearle Vision. I made my appointment online, which was very simple and convenient. The establishment was clean and the staff were very friendly. The best part of the visit was the doctor. Dr. Johnson was awesome and he works well with children. The reason I am not giving a 5 star is due to my experience after the exam. I have been wearing eyeglasses for years and I have gotten use to the staff (at other establishments) making suggestions and assisting me with making selections based on the shape and size of my face. I was left to guess as to the correct fit, and size of the glasses I picked out. I was surprised that staff didnt take measurements of my face. I am not sure if this is just me being spoiled or wasnt helped properly. Needless to say, I am happy with the glasses I chose and look forward to the arrival. Thank you

I visited the Pearle Vision store on Five Mile road in Livonia, Michigan, and their customer service was extremely excellent. The customer service representative (RENE) repaired my Oakley eyeglass frames because they were slightly bent. Rene is by far one of the best customer service reps that I have ever encountered. She was very polite and more than willing to ensure that I was taken care of in a professional manner. I highly recommend anyone that is looking to purchase eyeglasses or needs their glasses repaired, they should definitely visit the Pearle Vision store on five mile road in Livonia, Michigan. THEY EXCEED EXPECTATIONS!!!!

I am a first time customer at Livonia Pearle Vision, and I was impressed by the staff and their professionalism and helpfulness. I wouldnt hesitate to refer anyone to them. My 90 year old mother also gets her glasses there, and they caught a problem with her new glasses regarding the lens that we would not have noticed. 5 Stars!

I’ve been going to this Pearle Vision for many years. I recently took my 5 year old daughter for her first eye exam and to my surprise she ended up needing glasses. Dr. Johnson was great with her and so was all the staff. It is so great hearing her excitement seeing things that she hadn’t been able to see before. We have been in a few times since for frame adjustments and are always greeted with friendly faces and never have to wait long. Everyone here is always so helpful and friendly, the store is always clean and they have later hours with Saturdays which is a plus for me. I highly recommend going to Pearle Vision in Livonia on 5 mile!

This Pearle Vision is outstanding. Dr. Johnson is the best eye doctor I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few, as I am 68 years old. He is such a professional. He explains every procedure he is doing and why he is doing it. He is friendly and very reassuring. Renee the office manager is the BEST. She is outgoing, friendly, gregarious and such a pleasure to converse with. She explains my insurance coverage and deductibles without having to ask. I highly reccomend that you come here for your next eye exam.

This location is amazing. The staff, manager and doctor was all very pleasant and helpful. I had a major issue with the twelve oaks store and the livonia store was more than willing to help me. In fact, they went above and beyond for me. Ive been a Pearle customer for years and I will continue to return to this location. I always have a great experience coming here going back to 1985 when the store was in the strip mall across Five Mile Road. I remember getting my first pair of contact lenses with Dr. Johnson in 1995 at their present location. They were very patient with me as I was there for hours getting used to putting the contact lenses in my eyes. Im very nearsighted and my prescription is always done just right. Thats why I drive over 30 miles from Ann Arbor to come here!

I have been using this office for 10 years. Dr Johnson and team especially Darlene are phenomenal. They are very prompt, professional and met my needs everytime.

I read a lot of the reviews before I went here, and decided to give them a chance.My appointment was fine - short wait, office staff was friendly, the doctor was thorough, they had frames I liked. I paid for the non-insurance portion of my glasses in full and was told 7-10 days for the glasses to come in.I called the following week to check and I guess that call should have been my first red flag: I was told that no, it was actually 10-14 days and my glasses were expected to come in on 8/20. I figured, probably my mistake on the time frame, not a big deal.I called this morning (8/20) to see what time the shipment would arrive, as I was trying to plan my afternoon. I was told they needed to check into the glasses and I would get a call back in a few minutes.Five hours later, I still hadnt received a phone call, so I called again and was told, Oh I was going to have someone call you tomorrow, your lenses never got ordered so they arent done. Sorry. Supposedly, theyve requested a rush on the lenses but cant tell me when they will be done. When I asked why nobody had caught this last week when I checked in, they didnt have any idea (just like they had no idea why the lenses werent ordered in the first place - go figure!).Now Im in limbo, since my insurance has already been billed and Ive paid hundreds of dollars out of pocket for glasses that I dont have, and have no idea when I will get.Edit 8/27/19 - My glasses came in yesterday (about 1 week late). Pearle Vision issued me a credit for my inconvenience, which is nice, but I would have rather had my glasses on time.Edit 9/19/19 - Nobody from corporate ever called me like in the comment below. On top of this, I was walking into my office today and one of the screws/nose pads just fell out of my glasses. I had my previous glasses for two years (purchased at another vision place). These are barely a month old and falling apart.Edit 10/25/19 Its been more than 2 months and I STILL cannot get anyone from to contact me. Ive emailed their customer service multiple times. Its obvious they dont care at all about the customer - its all about the money for them. Their promises to contact me were just so they could act like they fix their issues.

The staff of the Livonia Michigan Pearle Vision are polite, courteous, and extremely helpful. From the moment i walked in felt welcome and at ease. The day i was there they had a problem with the computers and the Eyemed website, but rather then turn me away till the problem was fixed they did everything they could to help me along my journey to be able to see again without getting severe headaches. Two and a half years ago i by chance wondered into this location cause it was the the closest optometrist that took my insurance. Its customer service like this that brought me back this time, and will keep me coming back in the future.

So I started my day today on a really bad note and went into pearle vision for my appointment and by the time I was leaving I was laughing and smiling just because of Amanda and Hola were amazing at their jobs and made me feel like a million bucks! You need Dr. Johnson and these 2 women in each of your stores! Hands down they turned my day around and I want to say thank you to all three of them!

The doctor was fine and I was able to get my lenses and frames within 1 week of my visit like promised. The part I have an issue with is that they told me I would have to wait 2 weeks to get my trial contact lenses. Then after a week of wearing those I could order more. I waited 3 weeks without hearing anything about my lenses so I called to check up on them. I was told that they were too busy and she would call me back. Its now been 5 weeks and I still have not heard from them. I will be taking my prescription elsewhere.

Rude staff. Twelve Oaks location a million times better. Wouldnt go back here. Also less glasses to choose from. But the staff being rude is the reason id probably never come back. Im already getting Luxotticaed price wise, can I at least be treated with, even mild, respect? Id say im nicer and more considerate than the average customer, and for me to be complaining about employee behavior should say something. Avoid, avoid, avoid...

Firstly Doctor Johnston was terrific, I go to this store because of him and his professional approach and excellent assessments so this is why I dont give a rating of 1 star. The ordering of my contacts & glasses was not so professional. I placed orders for both glasses/contacts on November 12th and was told 10-15 working days for glasses and 2-3 days for contacts. I called to follow up after 15 working days (Dec 03rd) and after a delay on the phone I was told that there is a problem with your frames and the order wont be ready for another 10 days when I asked if I could pick up my contacts I was told there is a delay on these also due to your stigmatizm. it seemed obvious to me that the order had been forgotten to be placed. My contacts arrived 3 days after my call and glasses within 10 days also. I would have not minded at all the delay if I had been told that the order hadnt been placed by mistake and they are sorry about that and even offered a small discount for my next order. Instead the delay was blamed on the frames & my eyes. In the end got my glasses 5 weeks after ordering and contacts 3/5 weeks but left with a bad taste in my mouth with the excuses I was given.

Awesome doctor. Perfect for people who normally have anxiety with these types of appointments.

The problem I had with this store was that the Dr. was unable to determine my correct prescription. He just doesnt have the skill set.My prescription changed drastically due to surgery. The surgeon tested my eyes and determined I would have 20/20 vision with the correct prescription. The Dr. here however would not believe it and showed me two lens choices both of which were blurry beyond recognition and asked which was better. How was I supposed to choose? When I told him the what the surgeons test had determined he just wouldnt believe me and set my prescription incorrectly.The result is a set of eye glasses with the wrong prescription. I will never go back to that Dr.

My entire family has been seeing Dr. Johnson for years. I would never go anywhere else. Darlene is amazing!

Dr. W.J. made me feel rushed while performing my eye exam. His scrip writing was difficult to read the numbers. Subsequently the first lenses made did not improve my vision so I came back to him again and felt rushed...again. I forced him to LISTEN to me and did not allow him to keep cutting me off. Finally he had settings that were much better and he was more careful writing the new scrip. However, I am still not confident with his service and the new scrip and will never go to him again. I regret I didnt tell him what I am writing here now. I suspect I am not the only one that felt rushed, was interrupted and not able to explain what I was seeing and had an uncomfortable experience with him.

Been going here for years, Darlene is the best and the doctor here is spot on. Not sure what the other person had an issue with, but he handles the entire family without issur, including someone who had eye surgery.

They are understaffed! I always get put on hold when I call and the couple times I have been in the store, the manager is frantic because there are so many people needing help.

Two (2) 73 year old ladies looked at eyeglasses. I needed the restroom, female said it was occupied. I said I can wait, Im in no rush, she said Subway has a restroom. Ok...will take my prescription elsewhere.
