Best experience I’ve had at a shop- period. I had a code pop up involving air flow. I took it to my normal shop to fix code and install a couple parts. They installed parts and told me they couldn’t get the code to pop up so my car was ready. Advised me to drive on stock tune to see if maybe my tune was the issue. The code came back on stock tune within an hour. Closed for weekend so Monday comes I call the shop no answer. I drive up there, talk to guy- booked til Thursday. Advises me not to drive it 😂I called This shop GAW-person answers phone and gives me more information on the issue than I’ve had all week. Tells me I can be seen day of (time wasn’t my issue so much as lack of caring). I pull up and he comes out and looks at my car and tells me exactly what they planned on doing and how much it would potentially cost. They kept it for that day and next day and so far the issue has been fixed. He even went on a ride along with me because I didn’t believe it wouldn’t come back on. It cost exactly how much they said it would. I know this is one instance and I’m a new/disgruntled customer, but I’ve read very good things about this shop (recent years as I understand new management is in place) and they held up to those reviews. I will be back

They never did the diagnostic I asked for. They smiled, look at my carshield contract ......saw something that they would pay for and did the work for that. I believe it was engine mounts. They said I had a lot of car oil leaking somewhere but they didnt think I could pay for that work so they said that they were not willing to find out what the problem was.Im a woman that has never been a mechanic but I will get a manual...... get under the hood ...and figure it out myself before I go there again.They have no integrity.

The service friendly, honest, and it was super surprisingly cheap vs taking my 2019 BMW X5 to the dealer. And the repair perfect. They even replaced the nearly dead battery in my key fob for no extra charge. Ill definitely be coming back here again, and I would recommend anyone do the same.

I give this car repair place hands down. They provided good customer service. I have a 2012 BMW 550i that was blowing out black smoke from the exhaust. After BMW dealership replaced the valve stem seals my car was still having the same issue. I was advised by German Motor Works that there was a class action suite last year on that particular engine and BMW was responsible for the repairs or engine replacement. This repair company went the extra mile to do research on this vehicle before sticking me with a $5000 repair bill. They also did not change me for a diagnostic test. Their prices are reasonable compared to other German repair shop in the metroplex. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to this place.

Excellent, honest and reasonably priced service. Weve always taken our BMWs here for regular maintenance once our warranties have expired thru the dealership. We were recently advised by the dealership that we needed a $1400 repair done because the drivetrain malfunction message came on in my car. This didnt sound right to us, so my husband took it to GMW for a second opinion. Matthew thoroughly checked this out for us, but honestly saw nothing wrong with what Classic said, nor anything else for that matter. We believe that this drivetrain issue is some sort of glitch/technical flaw within some of BMWs V8 engines - according to the forums- and our BMW advisor, they say that it could be 100s of things making the light come on. So basically, they dont know what the issue is. My car is running fine right now. So go figure..smh. Its a BMW issue. In the meantime, I have complete confidence in Matthew and his team at GMW to be honest and fair as they have always been. Customers for 10 plus years. Worth the drive to Garland from Frisco.

Took my 1998 BMW Z3 for service. After initial work was completed, told me they discovered a problem with master cylinder & brake fluid was pouring out. I Told them not to repair but to top off fluid. Never leaked another drop after I left and it has been two years. Mechanic was dishonestly creating work. Lady at the desk did not know & was repeating what the mechanic said. not a trusted shop

- Took a few days to get car diagnostics done and we could never seem to schedule loaner car.- Had a hard time getting return calls as promised but since they were so busy that is understandable.- Spoke with master mechanic Mike who seemed very knowledgeable and willing to work with us but front manager/receptionist seemed a bit unorganized.- When we picked car up after first set of repairs price was approximately $300 more than discussed.- While making arrangements to schedule second round of repairs with receptionist we were quoted price that was significantly more than what we agreed. After inquiring about original quotes, lady told us without hesitation that price was price and while she didnt say it, her tone clearly stated that they really didnt care if we wanted to come back or not. This could have been the result of speaking with the mechanic first and then her and maybe lack of communication.- After I got my car back the first time, I noticed a few things that stopped working which could definitely happen as parts are replaced.There were a few red flags and during our attempt to schedule second round repairs, we decided to go elsewhere since we are looking to build a lasting relationship with a repair shop we trust. We can be loyal to a fault so before we got to that point, we decided to respectfully discontinue our patronage. This shops, what seems to be lower costs might end up costing us much more in the end.

Ive been going here for years with my dad and the service was excellent then. When I got my own German-made vehicle I knew of only one place to bring my car in for service. Staff is always attentive and courteous. Nothings changed. Very happy with the service.

Dropping Off the CarI took my Mercedes b/c the car was not starting. I had to use jumper cables to get it started to get it there. I specifically asked them to make sure it was the battery and not something else. I didnt think it was b/c the battery was not that old. I also mentioned I wanted my drivers side window motor replaced. They had previously given me a quote for that. I also requested an oil change.Call Back From PlaceThey said they wouldnt have time to fix window that day but that I could pick up the car by 1pm or they would call me if it wouldnt be ready then. They would replace the battery and change the oil.Arrive at 1pmMy car had not even been looked at. Not moved. Nothing. They tell me it will be 5pm now.Pickup CarThey charged me $344 to change the oil and replace the battery. Seems a bit high but I needed it fixed that day so I was fine with it.5 days laterThe car wont start again. I took it to the place just across the street who told me that it should have been obvious to them that it was the alternator. So I have to spend another day without my car. And I paid $218 to them for a new battery that I likely didnt need.When I called the shop back to ask about it the guy on the phone at that point basically admitted that they didnt even check to see what was the cause but instead just replaced the battery.I will not be going back to this place. They didnt do a good job. They didnt do what they said they would. And they potentially stole my working battery.

Highly recommend this place. After spending thousands 3 separate times trying to fix this problem at the DEALERSHIP, I took my car here and he fixed it THE FIRST TIME in under an hour for about 100$. Topped off my fluids and I havent had any problems since. He also noted on my invoice what would soon need replacing which gave me time to work it in my budget! I cannot say enough great things about Matthew from German Motor Works. I received a really high quote (over 7K) from Audi Dallas for some servicing after just performing 5K of servicing 5 months ago. Without seeming bitter it just didnt seem possible or plausible on my car that had less than 65k miles and had been serviced every 8000 miles at Audi. I called German Motor Works for a second opinion and Matthew spent about 15 minutes on the phone with me talking me through the problem list instead of giving me the just bring your car in and let me take a look line. I brought my car in and he brought my repair cost down from over 7K (audi quote) to $2800. I showed him the problem list and the quote from Audi and he said that most of the problems Audi recommended didnt even exist and that the quotes for their repairs were higher than reasonable. The repairs were quick and they even took my car for a hand wash before they returned it to me (the cherry on top!). Matthew used to work for Audi so I completely trust him with my car and as long as he is there German Motor Works has a lifetime customer. Overall, I would trust Matthew over every other shop and his customer service is 100%.

My car needed quite a bit of repair/maintenance and German Motor Works did an excellent job. They were very courteous to me and I highly recommend their services.

I was referred to German Motor Works to get my check engine light inspected on my BMW X3. From the time I dropped my car off, to the time I picked it up, I was treated with discourtesy and dishonesty. After giving an initial wait time of no more than 24 hours to have the results of the diagnosis, they took over 5 days to give me any information. Over the course of the 5 days, I called TEN times, and each time was told they had not even looked at my car yet but someone was just about to do it. When I finally picked up my car and asked to speak to the manager, he point blank lied to my face and said they had been trying to reach me for days with the result. I had been to the shop that morning to try and get information and they told me no one had even looked at the car. In addition to the poor service, they took my license plate cover and replaced it with a german motor works cover without my permission and refused to give my original back because they did not know where it was. Needless to say, I did not use their services to repair my source of my check engine light. After leaving the shop, I noticed my car was running much more rough than it had been previously. About a week later, I took it to another shop to get it looked at. About two minutes after dropping the car off, they called me out into the shop to show me the problem. German Motor Works had literally thrown my car back together after their diagnosis. My air filter was just laying on top of my engine, not attached to anything at all. The hard tops that cover my engine were left unattached and completely crocked. There was a pile of about 8 screws just laying there. In addition, there were several other parts, that had literally been thrown in, not where they were supposed to be and not attached at all. I am frustrated and disappointed in the unacceptable service from German Motor Works and I will not be back. I encourage anyone who cares about the wellbeing of their vehicle to avoid this place as well.

I wouldnt recommend German Motor Works to do any major work on your automobile. Small jobs such as oil changes or brake jobs can prove to be detrimental to your finances.They came highly recommended by a friend so I tried them out at first with an oil change, then brake job, and a few other normal scheduled maintenance jobs. All was going well so i thought until the problems began happening and not just normal maintenance issues. It had gotten to the point that I was there with another issue every other month.The vehicle was covered with a bumper to bumper warranty however I had begun weaning off of GMWs due to not fully being comfortable with their work & integrity.A month earlier before totally giving up on these guys, I had the water pump, radiator, thermastat, and hoses replaced at the BMW dealership by a trusted family mechanic as a suggestion given the mileage of the vehicle. At this time i was still using GMW to change my oil so after having an oil change completed I noticed as I was leaving work that fluid had puddled underneath my car. Upon closer inspections it was determined that it was indeed radiator fluid.I returned to GMWs and told Tony (the guy at the front desk) what was going on and he said he would have his mechanic Check it out.The mechanic diagnostics was that the radiator hose was busted which is why it was leaking. At this point I explained to him thats impossible because I had all the hoses replaced a month earlier.I presented the shop with proof of service performed by the dealership on my car and asked to see the hose in question. So the mechanic removed the hose from my car and showed me a hose which was practically brand new with what appeared to have been cut with a box cutter. It wasnt sliced all the way through but sliced to the seams enough to cause fluid to leak.At this point it was obvious was going on. I had the hose replaced and havent been back since.My advice would be find a good reliable trusted independent mechanic that is trust worthy and does great work.Its not a question of if these guys will take advantage of you, its a question of when.

This is The Place to take your vehicle. I took my VW there to have some work done. Joe was very helpful. He took me into the shop to showed me where a hose was leaking. He had my car fixed the same day and it was fixed for $$$ less than I was quoted by another shop. The other shop had given me a quote for other things which didnt even need repaired. I asked Joe about these other repairs and he showed me that these repairs did not need to be done. He saved me lots of money. I trust him and wouldnt take my vehicle to any one eles. I have been taking all 3 of my vehicles to German Motor Works for several years now. They do amazing work and fully explain what the problem is with your vehicle. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I took my 1979 Mercedes 450 SL to three other import mechanics (including the dealer!!!) and no one could fix it. It was very hard to start and was fouling plugs every 500 miles. Someone sent me to Mike at German Motor Works, and my problems are solved. My car is fixed right. Vintage fuel injection systems are extremely complicated. Do not let just any mechanic open up your fuel distributor, fuel pressure regulator, or warm-up regulator. You have to be an expert and have special tools and knowledge to make all these gadgets work properly. Its been two months and I love my car now. She starts on the FIRST crank, hot, warm, or cold. Even if she sits for 3 or 4 days? First crank. Varroom. Also, Mike was very courteous to me, and took all the time needed to explain to me exactly what was going on with my car, every step of the way. He was honest about how long it would take and what it would cost. Cheap? No. Fast? No. Worth every hour and every penny? Definitely.

This company has failed to fix my car on several occasions, starting on May 2nd 2016 all the way up to today 12/5/16.On May 5th 2016 I took my car to German Motor Works where I started doing business with Mr. Michael. My car had been indicating that I was having some High battery drained for like a week or so prior to it breaking down. When it had broke down all i knew was that my belt had broken and the car was un-drivable. I had the car towed to GMW and Mr. Michael and his crew was able to find the problem and said they had it fixed. The issues are as on the receipt Drive belt, Belt Tensioner, And Oil Filter housing, parts and repairs totaled 1399.96. When i receive my car back my car is working but my Navigation system and controls arent. Not even a week after getting my car back the same issue occurred. I returned the car to GMW for the 2nd time, they didnt charge me...but still didnt fix my navigation system, got the work done and the car back up and running...and not even 2 weeks later Im back at GMW with the same issues.This time they advised after further searching that the issue was with my alternator. On 6-24-16 I returned the car back to the shop for them to repair my car yet again. Work to be done as on my receipt is Alternator Assembly, Engine crankshaft oil seal, and liquid sealant. Repairs and Parts Totaling $1780.96. Got the car fixed and paid them again, to only have the same issues happen to me yet again!!This time when I take my car to GMW I had been needing to get some suspension work done on my car, I knew that I had to get the suspension done because I had been needing to get it done for quite some time. So I take my car back to GMW and they mention that they was going to fix my suspension and take care of the issues I had been having with the alternator and the belt. The suspension repairs were as followed...Rear shocks qty 2, Front Struts qty 2, rear struts qty 2, Strut Mount qty 2, Shock mount qty 2, Front bump stops qty 2 and rear bump stops qty 2, labor and repairs totaling $2480.86. I advise Mr. Mike to go head and do the repairs because I was looking to take a trip back home to Kentucky here within the next month or so and needed to MAKE SURE my car was running.After getting my car back this time, I still have no navigation system and Im still hearing some of the same noises from my car as far as my suspension goes. At this time Mr. Michael is no longer working with the company for some reason and Im dealing with Ms. Melissa. I returned my car yet once again, right after I had just got the suspension work done because yet again my belt breaks and my car cuts off. After getting the car towed this time...The dealer tells me that mr Cross member is broken (wasnt broken when I was driving and they had just done suspension work on it. They said I DID IT and charged me yet some more). Cross Member and repairs costing over $2,036.89 I was able to pay all but $755 of my balance and I decided not to pay that because when I got my car back the last time...I still had no navigation system and my suspension is still making the same noises that they were making before I took the car to GMW the 1st time.Here we are on 12/5/16 after just calling Ms. Melissa last week and advising that my car is still not working right. She advised me to bring the car back in but I dont have any other transportation and they didnt have any loaners. My car is now NOT WORKING YET AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE ALTERNATOR ISSUE THAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN I TOOK GMW MY CAR ON MAY 2nd 2016....Extra Detailed InfoDate of last interaction with business: 11/22/2016(Less)

I needed a pre-purchase, pre-inspection of a 2007 BMW Z4 my son was thinking about buying. When I called, Mike said he would get me in within the next hour. When we arrived we got to meet MAC, who has 37 years of BMW experience.Without a doubt MAC is The Wikipedia of BMW!!I own a ’05 BMW 325ci and I do a lot of the maintenance and repairs myself; so while MAC was doing the pre-inspection we were not only able to find out some issues with the Z4 that we were about to purchase but also a lot of valuable info about my BMW 325ci.Although we wound up not buying the Z4 because of some of the issues that MAC found I was very impressed with the experience we had today at German Motor Works.
