Probably shouldnt have gone back after last time getting a pair of Oakley frames and prescription lenses that were the same as my other glasses but were never right.. $600 down the toilet then.. But went back recently now that the doctor is different. Girl doing the initial tests in back took my existing glasses for something and gave them back smeared so bad you couldnt see through them. Had to clean them myself so we could continue then the girl apologizes saying she was in a hurry. OK. Next I get in with the new eye doctor and start doing the is A better or B better tests. The doctor kept telling me I was wrong and finally I stopped and asked why he was asking me anything if he already knew the answers? He apologized and said he was asking wrong. Got a little better after that. Got the prescription and went to the front to pick out frames. Found some and placed the order.Came back to get my new glasses and when the lady started smooshing them on my face and I backed up she said that I was acting like I didnt want glasses. Asked her what she meant and she blew me off and asked to see my current/old glasses. She proceeded to take them in the back and was gone a couple of minutes. Came back out and had me re try on the new glasses and asked if I could see clearly. I could not. She said that it would improve after a week or two. Not sure how I was supposed to get used to them while not being able to see through them. She got more hostile and I said to heck with it and asked for a refund which she immediately gave me.Noticed when I put my old glasses on that she had smeared the outside of the lenses but I would wait til I could clean them before saying something. Ive cleaned them multiple times and still have all the new scratches/smudges on the outside of the lenses which is extremely distracting. Dont know if it was intentional but not only could I not see through the new ones they seemed to have messed up my old ones. Just like everyone else has stated, they are extremely rude when you are there and act like its your fault the glasses you get from them arent right. Would NEVER go back.

I have been calling for the past 2 days no one answers.

I will not be going back here any more. Things changed last year and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back the next year and regret it now. I would recommend looking else, this was once a great location but not any more. Just a number and money to them now.

2nd year in a row of going to this location and have to say they go above and beyond! Dr Woodridge listens to you and his staff is very helpful and courteous! Big thumbs up from me, a long time contact lens wearer. :-)

Lisa was my sales rep she went above and beyond to help my young daughter. She has been there a long time and I’ve been coming there a long time and always had the best service With her! She let my daughter try on some glasses the week prior when I was there getting an adjustment on mine and I had an exam already scheduled with America’s. Best. She didn’t have to do that but in doing so my daughter found a pair she loved and after her exam the next week at America’s Best She was really wanting the ones she tried on at LensCrafters the week before. The ladies at America’s best we’re very rude to me so after her exam I walked out with her prescription went back to LensCrafters got those frames and she recognized us as soon as we walked in took very good care of us and I’ll never go back to America’s Best again not even because my daughter didn’t have insurance and they’re cheaper I’d rather pay for the service I get at lens crafters

The Dr was good and the appointment went pretty smooth, but they refused to give me my PD unless I ordered glasses directly through them. Very unhelpful.

I had a terrible experience with lens crafters. They violated HIPPA. I asked for a copy of my contact lense prescription. They refused to give it to me and said I need to come in and pay for another appointment. I had already spent $100 on the fitting fee. Its illegal to keep a prescription when its MY prescription. I would love to get my money back since I ended up having to go get another exam. They refused to give me a refund though. Definitely stay away.

Customer service is consistently incredibly rude. The woman at the rear desk within the eye clinic glared at me and in a very snippy voice told me my eye prescription after I asked. I will never come to this place again, maybe for glasses, but I will get my exam elsewhere that one, treats me nicely, and two, doesnt cost an arm and a leg. I gave two stars because the actual doctor is very nice.

The Doctor I saw was great. The rest of the staff, not so great. I am not one to post negativity, but it was multiple people that were very rude to me. The staff makes a huge difference. I was going to be charged double, was there for hours for an exam, had additional tests without knowledge of costs, and had very rude customer service. I will not go back, nor would I recommend them to others at this point.

Just had the very best service at this location. Husband broke glasses while we are traveling. Called here and she said they could fix on the spot. They did and new pads and new case and we are on our way. Thank you LensCrafters.

Poor customer service and instead of the bill being a $10 co-pay for an eye exam, which they quoted over the phone, they tried charging $90+ . Typical scam once you are in the door they throw in a bunch of extra charges and then try to blame it on your insurance. Go somewhere else! All opticians do not try to throw in a bunch of charges and just about any other one will give you better customer service. I also filed a complaint with the Illinois Optometric Association and the Better Business Bureau.

Worst place ever! Would give zero stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and find a different place. I made the appointment 6 months ahead of time and they didn’t bother to call and tell me a doctor wouldn’t be in the day of my appointment. I’ve been here 3 different times and they can’t ever find me in their system. I have to fill out new patient paperwork each time. Got new insurance and they didn’t run it before the exam like they were supposed to and now I’m getting charged for full price on everything because they are out of network now. Horrible customer service and horrible place of business!

I am only giving two stars because the doctor was great, the staff on the other hand are very rude here. They placed an order for the wrong contact lenses and told me they are the same thing. The sample I got in the office was Cooper Vision and the ones they ordered me were from Bausch and Lomb. I explained to the person I was speaking with that they are two completely different lenses. They tried to convince me that they were the same company but that the packaging just looks different. I didnt agree with that and after they reviewed my chart this time they realized that they had indeed ordered the wrong contacts. Instead of apologizing for the mistake or taking accountability she was very short with me and told me I needed to bring the contact lenses back so I could get the new ones. Now I have to make an additional trip to this store because of their incompetence to do their job. I understand mistakes happen. All I wanted was for them to apologize for the mistake and take the time to listen to me. Neither of which happened. Terrible customer service experience !

I was there today for a eye exam and the young women in the back of the store, thats the manager, was extremely rude. She had no patients for me or the Doctor. The Doctor was very helpful. If he wouldnt have been there I would have left not knowing anything about the contacts I was thinking about getting. She acted as if I was bothering her and when I asked her the few questions that I had she pretty much dismiss me. She also treated the doctor very poorly too. From her behavior I really dont know how she keeps her job. They must be hard up for help.

2 stars ONLY because in the end they replaced my sunglasses. The assistant manager (dont know her name) was extremely rude and quiet unprofessional. I came in with a smile on my face and was in a good mood. My brand new $500+ sunglasses were faulty. The Oakley company didnt tighten one of the screws all the way so one of the lens would fall out. Unfortunately when I found that out they landed face down and scratched the lens. At that point I had them for less than 12 hours. I brought them back and they fixed them. But when I addresead the scratched lens and aksed about getting it replaced I was told I would have to pay the fee to replace the lens. At that point I explained that I didnt feel like it was right that I had to pay the fee to replace the lens because I received the glasses broken. I was then told Fine Ill just reorder them I dont feel like arguing with you about it. I said thank you and was on my way. I never said anything rude to her. I never raised my voice. I was very polite the whole time. I was cought off gardg by how rude she was out of no where. I will not be coming back to this location. I will aslo be calling the head manger. They have lost mine and my familys business. Totally unexceptionable.

If you are interested working at LensCrafters at the mall, only do retail. The lab manager is a child and has a fit when you break a lens on accident. If you try leaving for a better job, she will say youre not a good worker and youre arrogant, even though she calls retail stupid from time to time.

I will never come here again. Went in for an exam at the Machesney Store, their systems were down and I was told theyd be back up in the next couple of days; so I said no problem, I totally understand thats out of their control. Waited a week and nothing, so I called and politely asked if I should try somewhere else because I really needed them, they told me their store was still down but the Cherryvale one was up and running so they would transfer me. Got a call that day saying my order was processed with my insurance and I was good to pay so they could order them, so I did. They told me my prescription was simple and it would be done the following Monday, no one called. So I called again that Monday, was told that they should be there by that Friday. Waited, still no call, so I called them again, they told me they would be ready Monday, called Monday, they told me they had run out of the frames I chose so they had to mail in a pair from the store and that they would be done Thursday and over night shipped to be there on Friday worst case scenario, Monday. Called Friday, no glasses, its Monday, called again today, no glasses. But apparently they have shipped and will be in tomorrow or the next day. Biggest hassle ever. Only one of the girls I talked to was super nice. So all in all I went in to get a SIMPLE prescription on September 25, it is now October 16th and I still dont have my glasses when I was told multiple times when they would be at the store.

My wife and I have had numerous problems with this particular Lenscrafters service at CherryVale. We made the huge mistake of giving them another opportunity to make a disaster of our orders. Our most recent experience with them started this past November. We decided to order contacts and both of us buy new glasses before our prescription expired. The glasses were completed in a timely fashion, but the contacts were not going to arrive soon enough before an extended travel trip we had pending so we arranged to have them sent to my wifes sisters in Rockford so that we could pick them up when we returned to Rockford on our way back to our home state. My lenses never arrived. When I made inquiries to track them down I was responded to in an apathetic manner. My calls were not returned at first, but after some effort I eventually had them delivered. My wife on the other hand did not immediately open hers as she still had sufficient old lenses. Several weeks later when she decided to use her new lenses she found that she was sent two boxes for the right eye, but nothing for the left eye.The above complaints are not what has moved me to write a bad review, rather how this business has responded to their own mistakes. They treated my wife as she had made the mistake and had a mistrusting tone. They were uncertain whether there was anything they could do. Perhaps if she sent her incorrect box in they might be able to exchange them, however she would have to talk to another manager as her prescription was now expired. Of course when she made the order her prescription was current, they messed up, but treated us as we were the problem. We obviously will never do business with this lenscrafters and urge anyone considering to do so think again. We hope that the store chain will take a good hard look at how the folks at CherryVale are conducting business.

My experience at lenscrafters was absolutely incredible. The doctor was highly inelegant. He was so patient, listened to all my concers and addressed them, and he was so professional. He was the best optometrist I have ever had,and I am 43. The staff was very polite and professional. Lisa fitted my frames perfectly. She took so much time at making sure I received the absolutely the perfect lenses. She also was so indepth explaining exactly what I needed for my lenses. Not to mention she was also fitted my glasses to absolute fit perfection. I am just blown away by my experience. MY GLASSES ARE PERFECT! I needed to explain how get my experience because I went to different local well known eyeglass establishment and my experience was horrific. Made appointments on the weekend and come Wednesday I was expecting a copay of 10.00 they come up with some state mandated testing of an additional 28 per person with a family of 4 from 40.00 to over 150 just for eye exams you should have disclosed this when we made appointments wasted my time and gas and opportunity to be seen somewhere else go to sears or vision works they are great but lately have limited eye doctors .They have better options and dont try to scam you or rip you off with so called mandated test thanks so much for wasting me and my families time when I was already on a limited time frame need them done before end of month also she violated hippa because she did not bother confirming my husbands information and showed someone elses information with the same DOB and argued that he was the only one one in the policy we said no thats not correct you should review before you hand over someones elses information sheet

Was looking at buying Tiffany & Co. frames but was having trouble finding the right pair. Lady brought over a pair of DKNY just because they are a similar color. At what point would someone who wants Tiffany & Co. frames be interested in a sub par brand like DKNY. Going to the one Machesney Park where they might actually appreciate my business.

I was very upset after leaving. I have insurance and when they looked it up they kept saying I didnt. I showed them my elegibilty and they said sorry your not elegible til a year from now. I said can you please call VSP and they said no we cant. So I left and went to vision works where they called VSP and got me set up and I ordered glasses. You lost a whole family of ordering glasses. Im extremely upset. Ive worked retail my whole life, I also was an optician for 2 years so I totally understand how vision insurance works.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!!! My appointment was at 10:15 They took me into a room at 11 and the receptionist told me the Dr wasnt even in yet and I asked how much longer she gave me attitude and said she didnt know. The receptionist was so rude she is also the manager. I will NEVER go back here.

Scam alert. Make sure you ask before you get your eye exam. If you dont, they will make sure you get you each and every available test and charge you for it even if you dont need it.
