Just called to make an appointment for my husband. She said that he had been terminated for non compliance. Im sure this is a mistake because my husband is compliant. She could not offer an explanation. She said that a letter had been sent but we did not receive a letter. I asked if she would resend the letter, she said no. Then hung up in me. OK we are happy to find another doctor. I was just shocked at her lack of compassion. This has to be a mistake in their records but they dont seem to have an interest in clearing it up. We were totally unaware of any issue. Just seems like they would at least want to clear up the problem if there was problem.

They need to update their phone message. It boasts their 24 hour answering service during the entire 30 minute hold time. Ive called many times and cannot get an appointment scheduled to fix my cataract surgery which had problems with them. Communication is lacking and it feels like retribution for my complaints. I guess when business is good, good service can lack. Dont call 226-1500. The message only repeats.

If I could I’d gladly not even give them a star. Complete waste of my money and time. I called last week on a Tuesday regarding an issue with my contact and she said she’d give me a call back and let me know what’s going on. Well that didn’t happen of course and I had to call back today 8-17 for her to tell me that I need a revisit and talk with the doctor and she told me she would talk to the ladies in the front and let them know what was going on. And of course. They had no idea what was going on tried to put me on hold like I haven’t waited long enough just to figure out what was going on with my contact. I wouldn’t recommend this his place to anyone. Like you don’t wait long enough in their waiting room for them to just do a check. Overbooked would be my guess. If your going to make an appointment maybe stay on course. Not 20 30 min later.

The woman I spoke with when trying to make an appointment was very rude & short with me.I wanted to make appts for my whole family.Apparently I couldn’t unless I gave her my husband’s entire social security number to check our insurance. I’ve never had anyone ask for more than the last 4 digits & I’m certainly not going to give that information to anyone over the phone! When I told her I’d rather wait & give that info when we come in, she said it was required in order to make an appt. Then she said have a good one & hung up on me. Unbelievable.

I had a small splinter in the white part of my eye that was causing irritation. I went into doctor Eye Miller to see if they can help me and they said they could. They put some dye in, he convinced me that it wasn’t a splinter(which it was) but in fact there’s a little piece of metal in the center of my pupil that’s trying to work it’s way out. He says he can fix this, without permission because he didn’t tell me the risks they were involved with what he was about to do. It looks like a mini Dremel tool, it was a tiny little sand blade that he was pressing against my pupil to clear away the metal. It looked like a sunset when he was pressing against my eye. But when it was all said and done he gave me an antibiotic and I went home. I lost about 50% of the vision in my eye. I went to the emergency room because it freaked me out and they told me I had a splinter. Which they removed. But my eyesight never became better. If I would’ve known that my risk of losing half of the vision was going to be the case I think I would’ve walked away because I had 20/20 vision walking in there. Also, they went to send me the bill that my insurance should’ve covered. It was Less than $200 which is not a big deal. But I told them to send it back into my insurance company because they are going to cover it. Instead they sent me to collections. Not only did they screw up my Dominant eye. But they also messed up my credit. Every time I have a hard time seeing something or even driving at night I think of that day and how it messed me up forever. Every time. When anybody ever talks to me about eyes, vision or optometry. Guess what the first thing out of my mouth is. This story, With all of the regret of ever going here.

There should be a NO STAR OPTION FOR THIS PLACE. Was told by Miller, 7 % of his patients will continue to wear glasses. 🤣 this place is not a place i would recommend to ANYONE. Treat you as if its a meat market. My eyes are worse after surgery and I can promise you its higher then 7%. I paid the $3000.00 outOf pocket for the best lenses. 😡 I have to say it was what was best for the docs pocket book! All I can say is do your homework work before jumping into cataract surgery. Lets start off with my 2 hour wait. I walked in at 3pm and did not leave until 5. I sat in the office waiting to see the Dr. after my initial wait times for 45 minutes. Once he finally got in there he checked my eyes and asked me to sign a waiver saying that they were going to charge me an additional $90 in order to make sure my contacts fit on my eyes. Im sorry but I have been wearing contacts for about 15 years now, I have never ever had a doctor charge me for anything like that. Ever. At that point I said no and ended the appointment. I never got my prescription or anything. Before I left I went and spoke with the front desk to discuss payment, I had previously called to make sure they accepted my insurance which they said they 100% did and just wanted to confirm. I paid my deductible and out I went. 2 months later I got a bill for about $200. I called them and asked if they had billed my insurance and they said nope so they said they would run it through insurance again. Ok cool problem solved. Wrong. It has now almost been a full year and I have gotten 6 of the same bills that continue to indicate that they have not even tried to bill my insurance. I have been dancing this dance for almost 12 full months. There are so many other places that are quick, efficient, and that are much more respectful to their patients. I let everyone who asks about eye doctors to avoid this place at all costs.

I am so glad we left this place. I wasted 2 years going there for my wifes eyes. My wife needs eye injections for her bleeding retinas. At Millers she had approximately 25 injections. Never once did Miller Eye Center mention we could get financial help with the injection cost. Waiting time was horrible. They over book. We never received a correct bill. Millers rate of help turnover is very high. Their CEO needs to go to charm school. He was extremely rude and insulting. He made my wife cry. Their costs have increased greatly. We left Millers and went to a Doctor from Elgin who comes to Rockford every Wednesday. She told us about a program that helps pay for the cost of eye injections. The injections cost $2000 each. With the new Doctors help, my wife is now receiving Eyelea at a cost of only $5 after Medicare payment. I overlooked a lot and continued going to Millers hoping that my wifes eyes were getting better. It reached a point where you realized that Millers had a different motive, meaning we were just a number that he could financially exploit. Everything I just typed is 100% factual and my personal opinion, just an opinion.

I have never been to Miller Eye Center, but I called there today and was treated with exceptional customer service, even though the person I spoke to knew that I was not one of their patients/customers. My daughter wanted novelty contact lenses for Halloween, and I was concerned about her ordering them online, and wanted to find a reputable, local eye doctor to get them from instead. I called our family eye doctor and was told that they dont carry them. I asked if there is anywhere to safely purchase them, and the woman just said, no, they cant be purchased anymore. I clicked a Miller Eye Center link in Google and decided to call them, and the young lady that helped me was very friendly and polite. I told her that my daughters prescription was through a different doctor, but asked if she would be able to purchase this type of lens through Miller, and get them by Halloween. She said they could order them with a valid prescription, and that it was OK if it was not a Miller Eye Center prescription. She put me on hold to check to see if they could be ordered in time for Halloween, and when she came back she apologized for the time on hold (it wasnt very long) and said there would be a $12 shipping cost to get them by Halloween. I told her which ones my daughter wanted and she asked if she could put me on hold again to see if they were able to get them. When she came back, she again apologized for the hold (again, not long at all) and she said they couldnt get that exact look, but offered another option. When she told me the price ($75 with shipping), I told her that was more than my daughter wanted to spend, and that we would pass. Again, even though we are not Miller Eye Center customers, the young lady was very polite, not irritated that I wasnt going to make a purchase even though she took the time to look all of this up for me. I will definitely check into Miller Eye Center when its time for my next eye exam!

I recently called to make an appointment with a specialist here after checking with my insurance that this was covered and I needed no referral. I scheduled the appointment 3 weeks in advance. Three days before my appointment I was told I was unable to come in because I had to prove that I had an eye issue (that Ive had since birth) to see a doctor. I asked if sending my previous medical record was sufficient enough and was told no. I had to have a written referral from a doctor. Due to the short notice I was unable to provide this to them (even though my insurance stated this was unnecessary). I am a high level care practitioner (Pathologists Assistant) with a masters in anatomy and pathology and completely understand the severity of my eye condition. But this education and trying to be an advocate for myself was insufficient for the office manager. Additionally they made no time to speak to me directly and had the audacity to ask me how I could possibly know and understand my eye condition. I am appalled that work places like this treat patients like this. Moral of the story is always be your own advocate and go to a doctor that trusts what youre saying and doesnt question it. Extremely disappointed.

I have had glasses since I was about 12 years old. And they have gotten progressively worse since until I was about 20. I wen to miller optic for about 4 years since i was 20. I was recommended to this place through a relative. Not going to say who because usually business will treat people different after they see the rest of a review like mine. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. All they do is take advantage of the elderly. Every time I have come here. They make me re-do all my information. Which means ether they are too lazy keep track of my things or that they hope all the elderly people just dont remember. They lowered my power rating saying my eyes have improved. But i had headaches all the time. because they were off. They also gave me a stigma in the wrong eye on top of that. This place seems to just take advantage of the elderly. Since I was the youngest person in there by about years. They also would not be help me with changing my contact perception . They changed me to 1 a day just because i do not where my contacts as much. Which are much more uncomfortable. I wanted to go back to my old perceptions, but they told me i had to come back in to that. Probably because they lost my old information again. Also, daily contacts cost much more then the ones that last for two weeks. Makes sense when you want me to keep spending more money with you. I cant say enough bad things abut this place. Its said to see how business take advantage of the elderly. This place does not care about the patient all they care about is their money.

I got signed in and waited to be called back. Dr. Marnul was a young, friendly doctor. He answered ALL of my questions and did not make me feel rushed at all. At check out, I did run into a different young lady who I thought was curt and a little rude. But once off the phone she warmed up and made another appointment for me. I do agree though that each time I call, I was placed on an automatic call router that does not greet you--it just plays hold verbiage. Dont waste your time going to Miller because that is all they will do for you - WASTE YOUR TIME!!! They severely overbook their appointments so that you spend hours in their multiple waiting rooms. I am beyond dissatisfied with my experiences at Miller Eye Center. I have had negative experiences leading up to this most recent one, but this is the straw that broke the camels back. They literally messed up every step of my annual contact checkup and when I reached out to convey my utter disappointment, I heard nothing back. After waiting for what seemed like forever at my first appointment, they gave me the wrong trial contacts and instructed me to put them in the wrong eyes. I had to return to Miller another day to pick up the correct pair. Then at my 3rd visit, or contact check I waited 2 hours to have this riveting conversation: Howd the contacts work? Fine. and upon finally leaving they printed out another patients prescription and gave it to me!! Of course I didnt realize it until I was already home so when I called to get the right one, was told they cant email it but would send it in the mail. Then, guess what?! They sent me another WRONG prescription. This one at least had my name on it, but was a super old prescription from like 2-3 years ago. Ill tell you what they were on top of though-the bill! That sure came out in a timely manner. Goodness gracious people, get yourselves together! So in summation, my experiences with Miller are completely unacceptable. I could not be more displeased with the GROSS AMOUNT OF INCONVENIENCE Miller Eye Center has caused me or the INCALCULABLE MARGIN OF ERROR they displayed. I did my part and showed up to both of my appointments, early in fact. Miller dropped the ball all the way around from the ridiculous wait time to incorrect instruction for inserting contacts to multiple incorrect prescriptions. BE WARNED. Unless you have all the time and patience in the world, Miller is a bad idea. I will NEVER return.
