Very helpful we employees. Store was clean and well kept. Very busy! They were out of stock of a fragrance I wanted but definitely went out of their way to check shipment and secure at another store.
Got to door at LITERALLY 7:01pm...they close at 7pm. I said I know what I need and where it is...just 1 item and girl stood on other side of glass and said no.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Yazmin, one of the fabulous employees at Sephora. I wandered in store just looking to restock my concealer. While I was staring in helpless confusion at a skin care display, Yasmin happened by and let me know that the products on the display were her absolute favorites. I confessed that I am hopeless when it comes to skin care, I dont know what products I do or dont need or what goes on when and in what order. Yazmin took the time to educate me on the products in question, laid out different options for me to choose from, and made up samples for me so I could see what I like best before committing. She even drew suns and moons on the sample bags so I would know whether it was a morning or nighttime product. Yazmin was so incredibly sweet and helpful. I will absolutely be back. Thanks so much, Yazmin!
Staff were friendly and helpful. All products purchased were just what I needed.
Always such great service and reception.
Did not have my favorite brands at this location. Staff was able to inform me of other stores on the mall with the products I was looking for
I was hesitant to be color matched in the store but looking at online foundation swatches was not working. Robyn helped me and did an awesome job. Not only at finding my color, but by being charismatic, fun, and professional as well. I was matched perfectly in both of the brands I wanted to try, so I’m stoked. For anyone who’s scared during lockdown like me, the associates will put foundation on a single-use swab and you’ll put it on yourself. For safety of the team, I do hope the they have the option to wear gloves though because they have to throw the swabs and tissues away. Just want to keep them safe too :)
Great place, friendly people!
WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE...AND AMAZING...ROBYN.🥰
Customer service was great she was very excited and helpful and knew her products pretty well which is helpful for me not knowing some of the stuff so she was great!
Rihanna collection is my favorite. This sephora has the best customer service!
Great staff, very helpful
I typically try not to write negative reviews but at this store, specifically the manager has pushed me passed my limit. Despite being polite every time I’m visiting this store as well as asking questions when needed, in the last several (four in total) times I’ve gone in I’ve been followed nearly my entire visit. I work in retail as well so I know the wrong loss prevention tactics first hand and I also know the non-discriminatory training that we receive to prevent that as well, clearly this store has forgotten the latter. I’ve even been invited for an interview for a position at this store so this truly is the biggest slap in the face. I thought I was just being paranoid but after reading reviews of this happening to others and speaking with friends where this has happened as well, it’s clear that this will be a continuous problem at this store unless it is addressed internally.
I went to the Tacoma Mall space on Steele Street, they were incredibly welcoming. Despite being short-staffed someone was able to come to help me. I over groomed my eyebrows and Payton who was phenomenal, she showed me how to fill and shape my eyebrows and who I believe was a Manager recommended a great product that I bought. The cashier signed me up for the Beauty Insider, loved my experience.
I needed a foundation match, as soon as I walked in a wonderful gentleman greeted me an assisted me, I went to trade an item and they only sold it online, but he was able to help me I genuinely feel like he enjoyed helping me and i really appreciated his opinion I wish I caught his name... he had blue eyebrows though! He’s amazing
Cora Gave me a great tutorial on winged eyeliner and now I feel way more confident in my ability. I loved all the make up that she put me in and it looked great outdoors and I’ll have to come back and get it. She was friendly and approachable and I appreciated her help. Give her a raise!
Annoying covid restrictions. Stick to online and pickups.
I am a Rouge member. My mother, aunt and I walked in here together. The women watched us like hawks and I did not feel like it was respectful, honest customer service. Very suspicious acting. Did not feel comfortable shopping here. AT ALL
Id been here previously, and the items I wanted were out of stock. Id left with a bad taste in my mouth. When I returned, I was happily greeted, apologized for the out of stock items from my previous visit, and to make up for it, was given a free sample. The service was kind and appreciated. Thanks to the gal in the perfume department. Much applause!
I’m a V.I.B. Rouge and I love this store. The associates are so helpful and kind. Giselle is absolutely phenomenal. The 20% off sale is going on, but my beauty insider account was not showing up online. I told Giselle and she called the company and helped me get my points fixed, so they would show up online (the product I was purchasing was an “online only” product). The process of calling and fixing the point discrepancy took about 20-30 minutes, and I felt bad that I was holding up the line with my complicated situation, but Giselle was so sweet, helpful, and professional. I really appreciate her help.
Really nice workers who are always quick to ask you if you need help. I never have to look for help because it comes to me first. One of the few stores in the mall where I dont mind spending money because it supports kind people.
The people who work here are the best! I get samples so I dont have to spend money on product I dont like. My girls always come in here to try the lipsticks when we go on dates. Everyone is very sweet to them.
Nobody is going to want to shop here if you act like everyone is out to steal something. This shout out goes to Robyn
The employees try to be so helpful, generous with samples, purchases gather points for free sample size gifts, but....... everytime Im in there a shoplifters runs off with ptoduct!!How stressful, and to boot, the company expects them to run after them!!! 🤯
Always enjoy going. Dont really get much. But always interesting exploring. Maybe Ill get more than what I came for.
First time to Sephora and I asked for help finding eyebrow makeup..After waiting 20 minutes I left. The store was not busy or crowded..Thursday 2pm. Will not be returning.
Go to Carrie! Shes the absolute best person there by far. She actually talks to you and makes a genuine connection while keeping you well informed. I usually end up leaving with more then I came in for. Not to mention Im in love with everything shes told me to buy.
Small store so I understand the limitations, but selection wasnt bad for the size. Staff was helpful, plenty of testers and cleaned before I tested them. What I really did not like was the lousy lighting! Please add some more lights!
Love this place, great service...I spend too much when I go, but no regrets
I prefer going to this Sephora instead of the larger one because it is calmer and smaller, also I think maybe I like the lighting better in this one.Anyways the nicest employees I have ever met, of any store EVER, of anywhere that has employees at all, are the employees of Tacoma mall J.C. Penney Sephora. every single time I come here the employees are so genuinely nice to me. It really brightens my day.I don’t remember any names but I remember two dates that I came in, 11/08/2019 and 11/27/2019. so whoever was working those days, probably in the evening time- you are wonderful people. :)
I got help immediately when I asked for it. But was bombarded as I walked in and through out my time there. Literally one employee just saw me tell another No I dont need help and went and asked me the exact same. Im usually friendly but they got on my nerves. Not only that but at least 2 of them were following me around. Theyve turned just like the employees at Nordstrom. 🙄
Clean store, attentive and knowledgeable staff are very helpful, understanding, patient and caring. Always an enjoyable experience
When I came into the store, I noticed there were several workers standing around and chatting among themselves. The store was practically empty, yet I was never greeted or offered assistance. I left because I didn’t feel welcomed.
Went there yesterday... Customer service was good, got greeted right when we walked in. Didnt enjoy my visit there because the air was so condensed. There was too much smells going on and it made the air thick. I was in there for about 5 minutes and I felt like I couldnt breathe. I had to walk out to catch my breath.
The employees at this Sephora made me feel super uncomfortable. I went in looking for a new foundation and cleanser with my friend and my two daughters, and the employees were practically following me the whole time. They kept asking me what I was looking for. I know the difference between good customer service and these people thinking im stealing, I have never felt so offended and stereotyped. I understand its part of the job to watch out for this, but at least be more discreet. I wont be back.
Every associate, or Beauty Advisor has always been really nice. I dont feel ugly when Im there, even though they are always so gorgeous!
Its were all the sexy girls buy there make-up.
Seems to have a variety of things. Has a strong smell of makeup thats not nice.
Some of the girls act as if they are knowledgeable others actually are. The problem is finding out which ones will help you slay or look like the animal that needs o be slayed.
Mays was phenomenal!!! I will so be going back .
I am writing this review after my third trip to this store. I did not see a single employee capable of blending their eyeshadow on any of my visits. I asked for a foundation match. The employee who was helping me with foundation, wiped several products on dirty skin (not supposed to do that at all). When I got to my car I had to use a Kleenex to wipe it off. However, I couldn’t wipe off the smudge proof eyeliner she “applied” and I had to spend the rest of my afternoon looking like I let my children do my eyeliner. A handful of the employees were sweet but most were rude, entitled young girls who looked like bad makeup memes. I’m basically a makeup novice and knew more than them anyway.
My wife likes it I dont personally purchase any of the products
I have been to this Tacoma Mall Sephora store on so many occasions that I lost count. Each time I was always greeted & asked if I needed assistance, including my most current visit earlier this week, when I was assisted by the lovely Maya Rodriguez.I do not know if each Sephora employee goes thru a required amount of training, but whatever the training regiment, they are doing it right.Maya was so pleasant, patient & most important, knowledgeable at color matching me with the Tarte full coverage under eye concealer. I questioned the shades she chose over the darker ones I picked, but after letting her try all of them on me, Maya was spot on. She matched the shades for my skintone better than I matched myself :-) I enjoyed my time with her. Thanks Maya, youre an awesome young lady & I appreciate the time you took with me!!!I went home with two samples because I had to decide which I would use the most since I sometimes use a sunless tanner on my face.I have had a hectic week, but I will be back lin the next few days to make my purchase. My name is Mea & I am a 55 year old multi-racial female. After reading many reviews, the negative ones ranging from people saying they were ignored & not asked for assistance, to saying their skin was not color matched correctly, to saying they were treated rudely because they were older, etc., I wish I would have taken the time to write a review for each of my many positive experiences Ive had at the Tacoma Mall Sephora store.I know you can only go by your personal experience, but please keep in mind, no business always has a perfect day. If your experience was not a good one, be politely vocal about it, & at least give that business a 2nd chance to make things right by you.I look foward to my next visit to Sephora.
Went into the store asking for a specific brand, but the employee said “we don’t carry that here” and simply walked away. She didn’t suggest any items or other brands. Definitely will be shopping at another location or online.
Ok. Maybe not everyone is like this and call me old, but when someone comes in asking about a primer and lotions maybe don’t just assume they want stuff for “fine lines and wrinkles”. Listen, I’m 48 today and the last thing I need to hear is how old I look. 🤬 Maybe just ask me what I’m looking for in those products. I’m not even wrinkly and that old yet for crying out loud. Stop ageism!
Yoooo first off. If you are a dude nothing to be scared off. I went into this Sephora looking to expand my fragrance palette. I did not know what to expect. But I tell you what, William and Tara left a lasting impression for all the good. They gave me more than enough samples to try on for different occasions before I jump to commit to a set fragrance. I enjoyed the technology booth that told me about different notes. Furthermore some how I got talked into buying a turmeric pigment cream...? Lol couldnt tell you how, but what I can tell you is thank you Sephora.
Ive always gotten amazing customer service from the ladies there. They always greet me with a smile and ask if they can do anything to help. If Im looking for a new foundation, they take their time to make sure that we find the right match on my skin, and make great product recommendations. If Im unsure, theyll send me home with samples to try out. Rarely do I make returns, but when I do, its always fast and easy. Ill never go anywhere else!!!On a side note, it makes me sad that there are only negative reviews here, but usually the only people who write reviews are the ones who are upset usually theyre being over dramatic. Ive never had one issue and been going for years and years
I asked the associate to help me pick a mascara as I am new to makeup and want to switch things up. I told her I like my lashes to be long and natural looking. I then referenced the bare minerals mascara I have been using. She kept looking at me like I was stupid which was unsettling, but I bought the mascara she recommended (Grandiose -Lancome) I hate it. Its clumpy and messy and thick. I hate the way it looks and it was expensive. Very very unsatisfied. If I ask for help Id think the associates would listen to what I say and help me.
This has been the first time I have visited this location. I went to exchange an item which was defective. The South Center store which Im closer to was out of stock of the item. The girl at the register didnt want to help me. She yelled the item isnt defective and the person who Im gifting it to wouldnt mind. I told her firmly that I wanted it exchanged. She sighed, went in the back and grabbed another item. Im pretty sure she was a previous Walmart employee. She was just awful. I love Sephora but I wont be returning to this one.
The ladies there were very helpful!!! helped me find everything I needed.
Great customer service, prices are a bit high but țo be expected for the brands they carry.
I absolutely love the makeup here! Its pretty expensive for some items but you can download the app and get coupons. They have a wide variety of makeup and hair products and have very helpful friendly customer service. I would definitely recommend this store especially if your looking for drop dead gorgeous unique makeup! I wish I was rich so I could buy all my makeup here hehe in a good location as well around alot of others stores and restaurants! Right off the freeway with easy and convienient access.
Loved the assistance i got from the sales women, they guided me to something that my girlfriend loved when i got it home... still not quite sure what all i got but she was happy so thank you.
My favorite for everything girly!♥️
Ive visited this store several times over the last few years and its put me off looking for helpful service at Sephora stores in general, but thankful for their return policy. I have been comically badly matched for colors, sent home with products with ingredients I specifically said I reacted poorly to, and associates attempting to do my makeup with dirty, long fingernails.
5 stars because they dont have more. 💄
Never have anything that I want in this store. An employee used the excuse “it’s because we’re a small store”... The employees are always on my back, but clearly they’re on the wrong person when MANY of their testers are stolen, so can’t even see what they have. On top of all of that, some of the “MUA” don’t look like they belong there.. just sayin’.One good thing I will say is they’re nice about giving testers for the product you’re looking to test out.
The employees are unhelpful and make the place feel unwelcoming. Very judgey workers as well. Go to another Sephora instead. This location has always been a weird one. Also, try not to wear hats or they’ll think you’ll steal something.
Typically have a decent experience here, however my last visit makes me want turn all my business to ulta or Nordstrom. I wanted to find a B.B. cream with no sunscreen so the woman takes me to a sheer coverage foundation (which is fine) eyeballs me and gives me THE LIGHTEST SHADE instead of taking my color IQ and before I can ask for a proper match she gives me a sample of the whitest shade. I swatch it right there & it’s no where near my shade, so I throw it away and walk out. I personally will not be returning to this Sephora, (possibly any) because of this encounter, I wish I could remember her name she had a big blonde pony tail & looked filipino
Friendly service & quick to greet each customer!
Great product and lovely staff!
So Ive never bought make-up that was over $10, and never strayed from Maybelline. So walking into a place like Sephora can be kind of scary for someone like me.But oh my goodness, I believe her name was Aldiana? She was absoluty wonderful. Didnt once feel like she was belittling me. (Which Ive had done to me before and I walked right out)She helped me find the perfect foundation, asked me questions about my skin, issues Ive had with other foundations, and I really felt like she was taking her time to help me. MORE THAN A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. Got a Sephora beauty insider card. Cant wait to get some points on it and continue shopping here.
I came in on a Tuesday evening looking for a lotion/perfume gift for my lady, and was borderline shunned by their customer service agents. I was shocked to see that they had 6+ staffed in that tiny shop close to closing Tuesday night. Also shocked to be so blatantly ignored by all 6 of them.I stick out like a sore thumb in a cosmetics shop and my bumbling around is more or less a cry for help, but they couldnt be bothered. I might add that they werent helping other customers. One was literally trimming her hair. 4 more were in a closed circle conversation, and the last was stocking shelves and didnt look at me until I raised my voice.
Got more help than ever
For the smaller Sephora I recommend going during the day the day shift because the employees are a lot nicer very kind and very helpful well on the other hand the night shift employees ignore you they’re rude and their disrespectful I’ve never been to the night shift before Intel the other day and I am not going back to the night shift employees because they will not help you They will look at you as if you are disgusting when you just want help
Its a nice place and well designed
Lots of options. Good place to shop.
Great products and excellent service!
I am writing this review on behalf of my girlfriend who recently had the pleasure of being helped by a sales associate there named Darcy at the Clinique section. From how she described her interaction with her Im surprised that Sephora still employees her and I think it really speaks to the kind of organization that they run that she does still have a job. Darcy, being the medical expert that she is, continually insisted that my girlfriend had rosacea despite the fact that my girlfriend informed her that she has visited an dermatologist, a medical professional who has had over 8 years of higher education, who has told her that she does not have rosacea but no Im sure Darcy is right. From her experiences there weve decided to bring our business to Nordstrom where we can get actual customer service and if you should make the mistake of shopping at Sephora I would steer clear of Darcy!
Girls love Sephora
I waited for an hour for help and no one was available to help me but as soon as someone came in AFTER me staff was quick to help them. I wondered in that store looking for someone and gave up and walked out.
The girl with the res fluffy bun is very rude she has made me cry more than once. Management knows and does nothing about it. They take her side. They talk poorly and act like im a theif.
It’s a make up store ❤️ lol
Love them and it might be a smaller store but there employees go above and beyond. My favorite place to go to.
Not where I normally buy makeup most of the stuff is too expensive but I thought I would give it a try they didnt even have their own product and didnt know when it would be in I checked for 3 weeks finally gave up
Just too confusing for a guy to buy perfume for his wife.
They only had one person on the floor, it was busy, and she didnt even ask if I needed help! She was so busy with another customer (who she thought would probably spend money), that it made me not want to spend my hard earned money. She didnt even know what the Sephora Play! Box was....seriously.....
Great customer service.
I stood waiting to be waited on n the lady helped everybody else ..when another lady came in she told her to help me...just because Im an older person they dont want to help you...just rude...I should of walked out n bought nothing...
