One of the techs at My Eye Dr., Sharon, was able to do the puff of air eye test the first time in both my eyes. That has never been done before because I hate that test. She was excellent. The doctor was great and I am very pleased with the woman who helped with my lenses, Amery. Amery double checked my insurance for me which helped a lot. I’m very happy with everyone.

Great experience! Brought my 14 old son in and saw the tech Sharon. She was fantastic!!! Sharon took her time with my son and was very courteous. She also listened to all of our needs. Then we saw Shay which was a student here learning to become a doctor. She did all my sons eye exams and was very kind & Thorough. Lastly we saw Dr. Golding she was kind and took her time showing my son his results. Great place overall and I would recommend. Lady’s are courteous up front .

I am pleased every time I visit this location for my eye exams! I live in Wakulla and the drive to the facility is worth every bit of gas. You are greeted promptly by the receptionist, while they take all safety precautions due to pandemic. I give all the love to AMERY!!! She notified me of every charge and explained everything in detail. Every request I made about the glasses I will be receiving, she made it happen! I am without glasses right now, and she made sure I would have glasses the next day. I went in for an eye exam and a pair of glasses; I left with more knowledge of my insurance benefits, a smiling face and two pairs of glasses. Thank you so much for the great customer service! AMERY YOU ROCK!!

This location on Timberlane Rd. In Tallahassee, FL. Is by far in my opinion, THE ABSOLUTE VERY BEST: In all aspects at that! I dont want to bad-rap my 1st experience with yet another, My Eye Doctor location. i WILL however say theres hands down NOT 1 single thing that my new and NOW permanent location will never change. Every Single Employee at this Timberlane location has FAR surpassed the 1st one by leaps, bounds in every single aspect. Sorry, I refuse to divulge the 1st. Im quite sure they think they do a great job however i found my eye sight actually WORSE that going in! The gentleman at the 1st location did nothing more than have me read the 1st line of huge letters and then rushed me out saying, theres nothing wrong with your vision-you may need reading glasses?! Ughh? I was so taken aback and felt like i was invisible to those people. Even worse was trying to explain that i was not at all satisfied w/the lack of treatment there and was so rudely spoken to, I literally left in tears! THIS IS NO JOKE! I apologize for not giving the name of the so called optometrist, i choose to with-hold THAT in fear others may take, other My-Eye Dr. Locations as being the same? NOOOOO! go to Timberlane rd-They treat you like a person, (EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE, Every single time! Hope this helps anyone to skip the sad treatment i get as well as others saying the same if not worse in the waiting area!

I’ve been going to My Eye Dr for years. While the doctors have been great, unfortunately, I won’t be going back. In January 2020, I showed up with my two kids for their annual eye exams as well as an exam for myself and found out all appointments had been cancelled but had received no notice. No call, no email. The woman that checking in behind us experienced the same. There was no customer service apology, or attempt to make it right. This year, I called to confirm my own appointments prior to showing up, because no reminders are given (same with my kids. I also called corporate to reset the notifications). For the past 3 years I’ve received no communications when my glasses or contacts (or kids glasses or contacts) are ready. I have to call and ask. Which would be ok if when I called, the estimated date of arrival was consistent. This year, my glasses were supposed to be ready mid February. After again receiving no communication, I called to check the status to get the run around and be told that there was an issue with the order and I would receive a call back once they looked into it. After a couple business days again I received no call, so I called back to check the status again, and was told that my order was delivered damaged and the glasses were on back order. Although the store worked to find a local frame to get the glasses remade which I appreciated and thanked them for, again the date they were supposed to be ready was not met. When I called on the date that they were supposed to be ready I was given yet another date. For someone who has spent well over $1000 on glasses and contacts for the family in one month alone, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Excellent service !!!!!My eye doctor is in South Florida and I dropped my glasses and a lens popped out. Called and was told to bring in glasses and they would repair them while I waited. Glasses were fixed and even new parts were installed. Probably better than new. I can not thank them enough or recommend them highly enough.THANK YOU !!!!!!!!

I understand that appointments have had to be canceled because of closures and limited hours. I could even understand when an appointment that was made BY YOU after you reopened had to be canceled, although some explanation would have been nice. But I have been on hold for twelve minutes and counting trying to speak to a live person to reschedule for at least the third time.

Really enjoyed my experience here! The staff was very professional and super helpful! The doctor was very personable and kind. They were quick and timely and the staff was loads of help when it came to picking out frames! I cannot wait to go back!

We live over 70 miles away. They allowed me to bring all 3 kids, who all have mild forms of special needs. 2 different doctors but when I had an adult with each child, it worked. They were kind and helpful. Their selection of glasses for my childrens insurance was better than in my small towns eye doctor office. My kids are all pretty small, and they took good care of them, and didnt make me feel like I was crazy for bring all 3. Great experience.

Took in my eight year old who is typically nervous about appointments. I would like to thank every member of the staff for being so incredible to her, from the check-in to the nurses, the amazing doctor, and the optical department. Everyone is very supportive and kind, and they made the entire process simple. They have a great selection of frames- my daughter had a blast picking out her pair. Thanks again!

I started going to this location more than 30 years ago with Dr. Stephens. Times have changed. Im currently in need of an exam so that I can get new contacts. I cant drive or do anything without contacts as my eyes are horrible. So, Im basically dead in the water....I was told it would be 3 weeks before I could be seen for the exam... And thus get new contacts. When I asked if they could please squeeze me in so that I could continue driving and living my life....Sure... In 3 weeks.Thanks, MyEyeDr.Bye.

I love this place! I go to the Timberlane location and ALL of the staff are very friendly and professional. Ive been there 3 times, and every time its been fast service, great quality care, and always clean. Each time Ive seen a different doctor and they were all very knowledgeable, friendly, and communicable. Its easy to get scheduled, and the hours theyre open is very convenient. I trust this group, and I appreciate all that they do. Thanks for the great work!

Have experienced better. After seeing the doctor they simply sit you down, place your file on a table. You have no idea whos responsible for the next step. When you ask youre given responses as if you should have known the process.

I have been a customer here at MyEyeDr. on Timberlane for several years now and overall have had a great experience....It seems that the young lady who has helped me before was no longer there so I was placed with another young man. This was ridiculous, as I am getting fitted for frames, I had to listen to your employee tell me how much weight loss surgery worked for him and that I should look into it. Now as a large patient, that was not only embarrassing but to be honest, rude. I came in for glasses, not a lecture on weight loss..Based on that experience alone, my next visit will be to a different location.. Out of fairness, Your employee in question has worked with me before at a previous job but that should not be an open invitation to hold any other conversation other than what I am in there for and that is to get glasses...

Top rated service. Dr. Assantes is excellent and very efficient. Hes very attentive and mindful of what you want and need. Also, Jarrod, their sales and customer service consultant is highly skilled and knowledgeable about his products and services. He goes the extra mile for his clients and takes his time. Hes so friendly and helpful. If you buy anything, make sure you ask for him. All around, weve always had the best experience because of these guys.

My frames broke so I contacted MY Eye Doctor for an appointment. The doctor did a great job with the exam. The young woman at the frame counter also did a fine job. This is where the fine job stopped. Since I did not have a spare pair of glasses, I was forced to use my computer glasses. I was advised that it would take 7 business days to get my new glasses. I checked on the sixth day and was told that they would be shipped on the seventh day (a Friday) and would be here ton the following Monday. I advised MY Eye Doctor that I would be leaving town on Wednesday and be gone for several days, I was assured that I would have my glasses in time. On Monday I was advised that the glasses would not arrive until Wednesday. So much for on time delivery!!!!

High pressure sales and fast talking does not work for me. Came once before and felt like I was being sold a car. Only reason I ended up back is because my eye doctor joined their group. Never again. Mom and pop shop from now on.Secondly, my eyes were supposed to be dilated by some guy. When Dr. Stephens came to look at my eyes, she asked me were they. Of course I said yes since this guy put drops in my eye. Her response was I dont know what he put in your eyes but he sure didnt dilate them. Leaves me wondering, what on earth did he put in my eyes.Lastly, after my eye exam, myself and my file were dropped off at a table in the lobby. I sat there for 20 minutes and finally, who would become my high pressure salesperson, finally walks up and ask has anyone helped me.

I am constantly pleased by the service at this location. The only criticism I have is that I will often have to wait for my appt, the staff more than makes up for this with their dedication to quality outcomes in my vision, help with insurance, and follow-up care.

Since selling out to a national network, you no longer get that hometown hospitality. Theres never an appointment available when you need one. They advertise walk-ins welcome, but never accept them when they come in. Also, who knew walk-ins needed an appointment? Thet have lost a customer here for good. Ill drive the extra miles to an eye doctor on the other side of town (and this location is 45 seconds from my house)!

This is absolutely ridiculous!!We have been waiting more than a month for my sons glasses to arrive.We have been given several excuses.First it was the fault of the labs, the glasses didnt pass inspection. Then, it was our insurance. Now, we are back to blaming the lab. Again, ridiculous. We would have gotten better service virtually ANYWHERE else!

I went in to the EyeDr today to pick up my daughters frames. I was met by a very kind gentleman that fitted her to assure all was well. The fit great but there was a an issue. The sales per, Jessica advised that we had enough allowance for poly carbon not scratch frames I said ok. We that is not what we had after we went over the paper work. When the sweet guy that was helping us called it to her attention she had a get over it attitude. She even stated all you have yo do to do is get it corrected. I told her I do not buy new glasses get called to pick them up to have them corrected. She rudely stated to go back and fourth with me and said she did not have time for this she was with a patient. She then bopped off in her very unprofessional street attire that echoed her vile behavior as well.The manager Uri, (I hoped I spelled it correctly) behaved like a gem. He advised me he would fix the issue and be back in 45 min to pick up. I must say as a mother and a consumer. I can not see myself ever dropping another 300.00 Here. with the customer service I received today. Please train Jessica or she will run off any of your customers who expect the least amount of customer service.

I did not have to wait long to be called from the waiting room (Saturday morning apt). Quick run-through with the tech/intern (not sure of the title) then probably waited 15 minutes for the doctor. Standard in many offices of different types of doctors. Ordering contacts and glasses was fine, I only order glasses every few years, so ordering took longer than usual, no problem. Contacts came in relatively quickly or I had them mailed to me, I cant remember. As with two other reviewers, the glasses took quite a while, at least two weeks, possibly closer to three. I know I called a couple of times thinking perhaps they just forgot to tell me they were in. I would basically wear my contacts from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed. The problem likely lies with who they ship the glasses off to.

Ever since they changed from The Hour Glass to MyEyeDr, theyve been horrible. Another reviewer mentioned Robin, who was great. Shed been there for over 10 years and helped us out nearly every time we went in. Shes no longer there, nor are any other familiar faces. Horrible service, improper prescriptions (eventually fixed by another doc), rude service staff, and all around not good. Everything now takes longer and is more hassle. Go somewhere else.

Dilated eyes even though my signed authorization said DO NOT DIALATE. Dr. Assented did not honor my legal authorization. Initially I was angry but I let that go. After my follow through with recommended cataract surgery, I called at 9 a.m. to see if the left lens in my glasses, purchased there, could be removed, This was a simple question but Stacy talked about insurance and $59 exam fee. I re-explained what I wanted and she said optical dept would call me back. At 5 p.m. I called back and was told sorry no one got back to me because they were very busy all day. Neither of these instances are professionally acceptable.to me. I dont appreciate my authorization and phone call being ignored. Pleasant individuals but not always professional.

Prior to coming to this location, I had been to the one on John Knox; whereby I was treated like a complete Neanderthal . EX: Dr. Hattoway was pleasant enough, however all he did was had me read the TOP line of letters. Then saying, Oh, you have whats called OLD AGE. Then was told to pick out a frame that had a certain colored round tag on them. Needless to say, it truly didnt matter what I chose as I ended up with something different. I suspect MENs FRAMES; far too big for my face & head, (they slid off my face every time I looked downward. The bottom half of the are adorned with a thick bi-focal lens that doesnt cover the entire bottom and appear these short,thick lens additons,( that appear to be perhaps glued(?) in someway to the already existing lens); making it impossible to read. Ironically also making my vision even WORSE!As if the aforementioned isnt bad enough, the front desk ladies spoke of the patients in a highly unprofessional manner, (we were seated within earshot) whereby hearing all the toxic venom including, yet not limited to saying, all of these people with government associated disability insurance carriers are typically, NOT ALL THERE, CRAZY enough where they wouldnt ever even. My apologies, however this level of unprofessionalism IS VERY hateful and DOES hurt the feelings of many if not ALL the people that deserve better!The audacity of sending me a post-card to set an appt. for yet another so called, EXAM? was laughable to say the least. I told the same woman that was talking about, US CRAZY FOLKS, everything I mention herein. She did everything short of begging me to come back, TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT? NOT! Would you?In closing..MY NEW EYE DR @ the Timberlane location was the polar opposite. The entire staff I came into contact with -A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Also bringing a friend that had the SAME ISSUES with Hathaway was invited by me to go with. My honest feedback for MyEyeDr. (Timberlane Road. Tallahassee, Florida)#1-I was made to pay what I consider an unreasonably high contact lens fitting fee. I should have called more offices and done more research before making an appointment here.#2-The doctor that I saw was friendly but did not seem very experienced.#3-The store did not have my correct prescription to sample/trial so I was given one that was higher than what I usually wear, why would I want to wear those lenses long term and give myself a headache? Also why am I paying so much for a contact lens fitting for lenses that I have to throw away when I get home because they are not my prescription?#4-The staff tried to sell me on a rewards program plan, as if it was something better than it is. I was buying a years supply of lenses so I was automatically enrolled in the rewards program. It was supposed to include a free pair of sunglasses. That would have been nice considering all the money I was already shelling out at this place but the inventory they had in stock was about 15 sunglasses and they were not good quality or stylish. Also, the woman showing them to me acted agitated and gave me a judgmental look while trying some on, so I felt embarrassed and left empty handed.#5-The rewards program is also supposed to include free shipping, Im guessing this is to compete with other places such as 1800contacts, but one week is a really long time in todays world to wait for my purchase to arrive. 1800contacts has arrived at my house in 3-5 days time and amazon prime arrives in 2 days. If Im already at the eye doctor and paying for something it would be more convenient if I could just take my purchase home with me in a little bag instead of having to hope it gets to my house on a day when Im home so the contact lenses dont get damaged in a 95 degree mailbox or end up getting rain soaked at the front door (Summer in Florida). There is no tracking number on my receipt, which makes it frustrating because I cant even track my own purchase. Also, my reciept didnt even say what prescription was actually ordered so I dont even know what Im getting or if the inexperienced doctor understood when I showed him my prescription from last year (from a different eye doctor) and told him I wanted to get the same exact one. He glanced at it quickly and typed some stuff into the computer so Im not even sure if it will be correct when it does arrive. I know my eyes and my vision, I think its absurd that I have to go to a place like MyEyeDr. and have a less than satisfactory experience just to get a prescription when I already know what I need.#6-Last but not least, the lady at the front desk was either misinformed or straight up lying to me when she said we could get $100 back if we submit a rebate through acuvue. At first I thought this was great considering I was already spending a large sum of money on the exam and one year supply of lenses for me and for my husband. We do have insurance but it still comes out to a lot. So I went online the next day to submit the rebates so I could get some money back and it turns out the two rebates I submitted only amounted to $50 total. Why would the lady say $100? To make it sound better? It all felt like a big bait and switch scheme to me, from the wrong rebate amount, to the free sunglasses, to the free trial sample lenses... this store really needs to change a few things.This honest review will be posted on yelp, google and sent to customer service at MyEyeDr. This place is a mess and you will leave there feeling like you got ripped off. My salesperson presented several costly extras to me when I was purchasing frames and did not frame them (pun intended) as optional. Wouldve been cheaper to order glasses from a retailer online without using my insurance at all than to purchase here, and that is my fault for not taking the time to research. Good to know for next time. But ultimately I got the glasses I wanted, and the doctor who did my eye exam was very nice.EDIT:I was promised a date of Saturday April 30th to pick up my glasses. When I hadnt heard from them by the evening of the 29th, I called to inquire and the woman I spoke to said that they would be ready by Monday the 2nd. On Tuesday the 3rd, I still had not heard back, so I called and spoke to a woman named Robin, who told me that someone had scratched out my original promise date (April 30th) and written in May 6th, and failed to inform me. My old glasses are very bent and near unwearable, and had I known it would take 3-4 weeks, I would have taken my business somewhere else. Robin was very kind and insisted that the lab expedite my glasses, so I will be able to pick them up this afternoon, the 3rd.I do not recommend this business, and especially this particular location. Go somewhere where they will honor their commitment to your finances, your time, and your vision needs. Robin in particular was very helpful but it was certainly not enough to make up for the other shortcomings Ive listed. Ill be finding a new eye doctor.
