I recently bought a house and needed to address an incredibly loud and poor performing garage door. I engaged Overhead Door to replace the 20 year old opener and repair the door. Their tech, Paul, arrived on time, was polite, and fully explained the options to address all of the issues. Paul repaired the door and it sounds like its brand new. He also installed a new Liftmaster opener, which has been working well. Great job!

Our sales guy was David. He was super professional and friendly. I don’t really know anything about garage doors. We needed to replace our two ancient openers. With his recommendation we now have the best openers I could have ever imagined. They connect to WiFi so we can operate them through our phone or just check the open/close status. The light is amazingly bright and they even have a battery backup for of the power goes out. The install took a few hours and the installer was super professional as well. Can’t say enough good things. Would highly recommend to a friend! Ask for David! He knows his garage doors!!

When I began the process of looking for a reputable garage door company I went on Next Door Neighbor and made a request for a recommendation. I received many company names but the recommendation that stood out was from Dr. Deminico~he referred Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay.So, I preceded with three quotes and set appointments. The salesperson in my opinion always sets the tone.We met with David E. who was not only knowledgeable but worked with our budget, our needs and answered every question I asked for several weeks as I received other company appointments and quotes. David also helped advise us with another single car garage lift master system in our Lake House as to whether it needed replacing at this time. He was honest, forthcoming and provided all the information and support prior to the sale. After the sale, he followed up and stayed on top of our questions. The other companies followed up with the proposal but that was it!We are so happy with our new door; it is so quiet, we love the high lift Jack Shaft system; speaking with Liftmaster support they walked us right through on how to get the wifi MyQ App programmed since we already had our gate on the App. Also, the high lift got the rails out of the way so we can now access our attic door where the other railings were unsafe in and the way.The staff names we also dealt with are Valerie (operations), Gene (installer), and Alisha (scheduled inspection). We had our garage door installed by the Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay in 2012. It worked fine. Now in 2020 we needed some maintenance done and when we called them we got an almost immediate response and for a very fair price we had the door restored to like new condition. The work was done efficiently, the system checked and lubricated as needed, and is now working great again. I highly recommend this company. Pricing is very fair and their performance is superior. The technician who came out explained everything he did and its condition. Great company.

I recently called Precision Door because I had one garage door that wouldnt open properly. They came out, told me the board was bad and said that I would need a new garage door opener and that it would cost me around 800.00. I decided to wait because I didnt want to spend the money at that point. After talking to my sister in law I decided to call Overhead Door and Rob came out right away and told me that the opener I had was a workhorse and that he felt he could replace the board and that the door would work perfectly. After about 40 minutes everything was oiled and repaired and ready to go. It cost 175.00 which saved me hundreds of dollars and Rob was so professional and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend!!

Spring broke on Christmas day. I sent about 5 contacts over email and website contact forms to various door companies that night. They were the first one to respond next morning with legit, reasonable quote. I called and they had a repairman out by 1100. Swapped both springs, adjusted closer and was done in less than 2 hours. Was nice to have a craftsman that knew what they were doing with no BS, attempts at up sales or other games.

A cable snapped on my old garage door a couple days ago so I submitted a service request online. Keith from Overhead called me the next morning and got an appointment scheduled for the very next day in which Robert came out and got it up and running promptly. I had a unique situation in dealing with this firm. I recently purchased this house which contained a newer Liftmaster garage door opener. I have two older model vehicles from which I wanted to remotely control the garage door opening/closing. The first technician sent, although he diligently tried, was not able to accomplish my desired objective. The firm’s operation manager got involved and the next day sent a more experienced technician who quickly resolved the problem by installing a repeater. I was most impressed how determined this firm was to resolve the problem to my satisfaction and as a result, earned my highest recommendation.

We have used Overhead Door many times and have never been disappointed. I came home today and my garage door would only close 1/3 of the way. I called Overhead door for service. The woman I spoke with was amazing. She placed a call to Andrew, the service manager in the field. Andrew called me back within 5 minutes then had technician, Matt at our home within 20 minutes. Hire a PRO. I shouldve known better than to try to fix my garage door myself. My wife said I was a stubborn man, I agree but I cant help myself. I made it worse before it got better, so after 2 days I decided to hire a pro. They fixed my door in an hour and it did not break the bank. Its less expensive and better altogether to hire a pro. I had asked another local company to stop by my house in Lutz to help with my door. They were not able to fix it and still wanted to charge me for the visit. They also quoted me $1,400 for a new system. Someone recommended I call Overhead and I am so glad I did because not only did the tech make my current system work to use that day, but he (Paul) also educated me about my system. I decided to get the system replaced and not only is it quieter and smoother with Wi-Fi capability now, LED lighting & Backup battery, it was $600 cheaper than the other quote! I had called numerous places prior and they were the most reasonable, over $125 less than Precision Garage door! The even send you a photo of your technician. Matt did a great job, and was in and out of there without trying to upsell me 100 things. I would recommend them to everyone!

We have used this company twice before, and have always been pleased. This last time was no different. Matthew was terrific. He was working with a helper and they were both quick and efficient.The only reason for four stars instead of five is because the entire new mechanism (it was not cost efficient to try to repair the old one) broke after one week. But to their credit, even though I called late in the day for a repair, they managed to shoehorn me in. Great service, and hopefully a good opener, maybe with a rare defective part.

Noticed yesterday that Spring had broken on garage door.Ive had clients across the country for years and am Very familiar with Garage Door Repairs (just dont want to do them myself) and was Interested in the (firsthand) process.Turns out this was about as straightforward as possible - called and reached Andy this morning, who told me someone would be out after lunch. Technician Rod called on his way and provided ETA.Was presented a couple options on replacing one or both Springs and provided prices for each - chose to replace both.Rod performed Repair and was gone within about 45 minutes - doesnt get much more straight forward than that...Will be adding Overhead Door to my Local List of Preferred Service Providers to recommend to others when asked...

Called for a repair and the repair man sent came unannounced, and after business hours. He did get the door to open and close once but we couldnt use the door at all after that. Called and said we would need a new door replaced and that someone would contact us. A few days. and a few phone calls later we received the quote for repairs.Approved a proposal over a week ago and not one single person can tell us when the work will be done or even if materials have been ordered. We cannot get anyone on the phone other than a very nice secretary. No return calls. No return emails. Nothing. Its hard to run a business when you cant open the doors, and the repair company cannot come do the repairs in a timely fashion. If, and when they come to do the door replacements ill absolutely update the review.Update 10/1/2018After an initial error in communication the Overhead Door Company of Tampa Bay came out swinging. They had their installers arrive right on time. The guys look a few minutes explaining what and how they were going to be doing the replacement. Asked us how we wanted to open them and what side the chain is to go on and then they went to work. Quick, precise, and clean work. Nothing left and absolutely no mess to clean up. If i had any more doors to replace then they would be my first choice. Great team. Will recommend them to others.

I called the company to see about a new door install, the sales man came right out, I thought it was going to be very expensive, but the door that I have just needed some repairs done. Great experience with a residential garage door replacement. Pleasant sales experience (no unnecessary up-sells) and the installation quality was fantastic. The funny thing about it is they were cheaper than the other estimates, and according to the building inspector, with better quality than the competition.

If I could give zero stars I would, but it not an option. I received a quote for a garage door with long recessed panels insulated with wood grain. I went back to the sales person and told him we no longer wanted to pay for the wood grain option and simply wanted a brown door. Not til the door showed up today to be installed did I realize when I changed the door from the wood grain to solid brown did the sales rep also selected the wrong panel door which was an option I would never pick. The exact same panel was not available on the 2 door types, but there was certainly a longer panel option that was a closer match vs the one I got that looks like it belongs on a barn. I informed the installers it was the wrong door and they asked if I wanted it installed anyway and I said, yes and I would call the sales rep. I walked out of my house 2 hours later, the installers put my old garage door up and was about to take off in their truck without saying a word to me. I yelled and got the drivers attention whose window was down and he looked at me and just drove off. Seriously, never had anyone come do work at my house who did not keep me informed of changes to scope or check with me before they left. They smoked in my driveway, left cut off pieces of bolts from the install in the grass and driveway and played loud music from their portable stereo.And sir I standby my complaints. I never raised my voice at any of your people so it is totally dishonest to say I used aggressive tone with your people. You bet I was frustrated when I got the wrong door after waiting 4 weeks since our garage door is broken and my wife is unable to open/close it. Your workers were not just smoking and playing loud music but did not clean up after their work, left drill/saw dust all over the floor, cut bolts in yard and driveway. I previously had a quote from another company, I was able to call them, they looked up my prior quote by my address and sent me a picture of the door style via email so it was verified what I was receiving vs the surprise I got today. So my suggestions I made during the process to your folks was it would be nice to lookup the quote by customer in the office without the delay of contacting the sales rep to make payment AND include a pic of the door style you would receive with the quote.

The plastic gear in the operating system stripped late one afternoon. I immediately called Tampa Over Head Doors. They were out the next morning and made the repairs along with totally checking out the system. All works fine. I have used them in the past and have been totally satisfied with their work performance in an efficient and professional manner..

I was backing out of our garage on my way to work and I accidentally pushed the close button, The door hit the top of my car ! I was able to bang on the door to get it somewhat straight so I could close it for the day and get to work.First we called another Garage Door Company, They came to our house and said we had to replace the ENTIRE DOOR !Our second call was Overhead Door Company, They came out repaired the existing door and charged a reasonable amount saving us $$$$. I am so pleased with the service provided. They did exactly what they said they would and for a great price. My garage door is 28 years old and so are the parts connected to it except the motor attached to the automatic lift. I was in fear of having the door slam down on my little dog but dont worry now. The repairman was on time, quiet and efficient. I didnt feel like I had to stay and talk the whole time he worked which says a lot towards trust as a garage holds a lot of expensive equipment.

I wasted 2 hours getting the wrong belt, and wasted 2 more hours trying to install the wrong belt on a Friday night. So, Amazon wins again, belt will arrive tomorrow. Sorry guys.Needed a belt for my garage door and didn’t want to wait for it to arrive, ordering off the Internet. The gentleman that answered informed me to my surprise that my unit was under warranty and that if I brought in my old belt it could be replaced for free. I drove over the next morning and I accidentally went to Banko. They are also a provider for the vendor, but they said they would only honor the warranty if I paid them to install the belt. PffftI realized I was in the wrong place. I went over to Overhead Door and the receptionist was professional and pleasant and replaced the belt free of charge. She had the technical expertise to recommend the correct product for my needs, promised the installation to be smooth and assured their price was very competitive.Rod, their installer, called in advance of the appointment to let me know he was on his way, arrived as he said he would and then proceeded to professionally install the garage opener. He completed the job by programming the remote entry system, cleaned up after himself and made sure all my questions were answered.As a result, the installation went very well and I would use them again. Highly recommend.

You guys are the best! Fast and reliable. Always do extra stuff to doors. You tightened all bolts, lubricated everything and tested and checked everything. GREAT JOB VERY HAPPY!!!

First off Kevin should not have a job that requires him to measure anything. When he came out to get the measurements for our new door for our car wash he got 15.8ft, upon the installers not only showing up late but wanting to cut our conveyor because Kevin didn’t relay the correct information about the offset on the guide and the measurement being 14ft not 15.8ft... we are an extremely busy business and this install should have taken 4 hours “Kevin said” it’s now 5pm and the correct door is on the way so we will end up loosing an entire day of revenue which equates to 3000.00 - 4000.00 in lost sales. When we contacted Kevin he said “I told you it was a cheaper door” I didn’t realize that the material is to blame for piss poor communication and elementary measurement skill! We are absolutely disgusted with what just took place. This was just another case of the salesman wanting to get the sale. There used to be day when a man would make a mistake he would do anything to make it right but unfortunately some businesses don’t think like that any longer.

Great company and service. We had them replace the garage door they had installed several years ago to a new hurricane proof one, and again they did a great job. I recommend this company to everyone.

These people do it right! They have repaired and/or replaced doors for me several times during the past several years. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing such service.The recent job was a complete replacement and upgrade of an existing garage door. The installer was pleasant to deal with and performed the job in an excellent and efficient manner.

Poor Customer Service. I have used them in the past with no issues. My garage door came partially off the rails on a Saturday (1/4 of the way down). I sent an email and left a voice mail on Saturday. No response. I called Monday morning at 7:50 (they open at 7:30) and left another voice mail (the person was busy). At 9:00 I called and mentioned that I had not heard back from them and was told in a nonchalant way that they were busy. Absolutely no care or worry that I have hundreds of pounds of potential disaster. Im switching to another service that hopefully possesses a more customer centric attitude.

I just had Overhead Door Co replace our 22 year old 16 ft. garage door, that was an original Overhead Door Co door. This company was the only one that had the option to match our original door, and our existing single standard style garage door.The new door is stronger to satisfy the new Code. I also included it insulated with styrofoam. I also bought from them the insulation kit for my single door, it was $75, less expansive than Amazon, and easier to install.Our door installer, Gene, was great, friendly, very conscientious, courteous and got everything operating smoothly.Our sales guy, Doug, was friendly, knowledgable and explained our options about the design changes made to the standard door since 1997.Other companies use the term overhead door in their website and on the phone, but there is only one Overhead Door Co, a long-time national company with a shop here in Tampa. They don’t advertise on TV, DMC or in Value Pack. They also do repairs if that’s the best option.I highly recommend the original Overhead Door Co.
