Eye Trends is the best. I spent three hours on the phone trying to find someone that would take my insurance and see my five year old. Eye Trends is absolutely best eye doctor I’ve ever been to. All of their doctors are wonderful and fantastic with children. All of the techs and all those on the glasses side of the office at The Woodlands location are awesome. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

This was my 1st and LAST time going here. I got progressive glasses from them and the prescription made it hard to see. One person said my prescription was wrong and I needed to go back to my doctor. Another person said since my previous progressive glasses came from another company that was the reason.My prescription was fine. Eye Trends kept 30% of my payment. Expensive lesson to learn. DONT go to them.

Love the experience! The attention is amazing! The Doctor was great! They had great technology, skip the dilation drop and take pictures in my eyes is great no more that bad sensation after drops! 100% recommended!

Read this before going to this lens store.07/07/2021I do not recommend this store at all. They dont keep their word on a delivery date for glasses I bought for my son. The estimated delivery date of the lenses was for today July 7 and I spoke to find out if the lenses were already available and they told me that they were going to take a couple of weeks more. when they had told me that they would be there for today, July 7. I made the purchase of these lenses on June 22. my son needed to have his glasses as soon as possible. definitely disappointed in this store that doesnt deliver on his delivery word. Now my son will have to wait many more days for his prescription glasses to be delivered and his eyesight is deteriorating more and more.

The Sawdust location’s remodel is lovely. While visiting with my granddaughter on Saturday, May 22, 2021, I could smell a strong odor of cigar smoke ( or cigarette). It was pretty bad and hard to tolerate. I presume the odor was creeping in from the adjacent smoke shop. It most definitely influenced me on whether to return.

It took me 15 minutes to convince the optometrist assistant that the Optomap imagery is covered by our insurance. After a brief check, they discovered that it was, in fact, covered.Fast forward to the checkout with the cashier and there is a $25 charge for Optomap. So I tried to explain that we just look that up, and it was covered. She refused to listen, refused to remove it, and refused to do anything other than sit there and argue with me that insurance doesnt cover that. I tried every polite way to explain it to her, but her smugness prevailed and finally I just paid the $25.Just a few days later, my wife goes for a visit and now all the sudden theyve become an Opt-out facility. At least thats what I think they were trying to explain. Not one person there could properly explain why they wouldnt honor parts of our insurance coverage. If youre unfamiliar with the Opt-Out Legislation, you may have to Google it, because Im no expert. But the basics of it mean that Optometrist can be in-network, but opt-out of your insurance coverages for stuff like glasses, frames, contact fittings, and contact lenses. So even though you pay tons of money for insurance, they just decide they arent accepting that portion of it. Ive tried to contact the office via their email to see if that exactly what the staff couldnt explain and/or whey they were charging us for stuff that our insurance covers, but they havent yet gotten back to me.Throughout our visit, I made the statement to every person that worked there, I want the contacts that are covered by insurance. They have an approved list, can we get some that are on that list. I was continually reassured by everyone...Oh yea, no worries these will covered...until the moment that theyve finalized the prescription and...oh these arent covered.No one here listens to anything you say (apart from the doctor we saw, she was informative, nice, and professional). Its so frustrated trying to communicate with them and just getting the run around. Weve been going here for years and never received this kind of treatment. They have definitely lost our business and all of our friends, families, and co-workers that we will be sharing our horrible experience with. If you pay for insurance, I would also consider avoiding this place, because they opt-out of your coverage. And I want my $25 dollars back that your cashier smugly refused to remove from our bill.

They have friendly customer service but it’s very impersonal. The optometrist I saw for a total of 5 minutes. So it depends on if you like this kind of service. It was quick for the exam, but getting glasses literally took forever. I was waiting at least 45 minutes.

I love this place, I have keracotonus and didn’t think it was possible to see again, but Dr. Quelly has gone above and beyond my expectations! Let me start off by saying that Eye Trends is not a bad place to get your eye checkup, Im not exactly sure if its the best though. My experience was a bit mixed.There is a mix of great customer service and average customer service. The place itself is very punctual in terms of appointments. The eye technician was absolutely fantastic and that was the best experience for me out of the whole appointment and changes my review from a 3-star to a 4-star. The doctor is pretty good, and they have robust technology that can detect early eye conditions which I was very grateful for. I felt like the doctor was a bit rushed when I was trying to ask questions and didnt get the attentiveness/care that I was hoping for. It was more of getting through as many patients as possible for that day.In terms of eyeglasses, they are a bit on the expensive side to pay for the frames, Ive been to other eye places and paid for branded frames and it hasnt cost me as much with my insurance. The financial lady who was helping me was really sweet, but I wish she would have actually explained the breakdown instead of just writing down numbers and sending me to pay.TBH, the whole office seemed a bit rush. Which I understand with the amount of patients they were trying to get in on a day, but it comes down to quantity vs quality. And I personally believe that this practice for the most part is more focused on quantity of patients vs the quality of care/attentiveness.Would I come back? Probably, but I still plan to shop around for a new eye place before making it my permanent Optometrist in the future.

I had major eye injury several years back. Dr Michael and Dr Chad jace both taken such great care of me. My eye precription changed often and both doctors never minded my often visits, and always took their time in getting my eye sight to be the best it could be. All the doctors assistants, eye glass tecs, contact tecs, and the staff at reception are awesome. Most know me by name and all go the extra mile. I would never go anywhere else. Eye Trends are the best. Seriously, dont go anywhere else!Adam T.

Poor customer service, do not give you exact details and want to make you feel like it’s your fault for not even understanding. I had to call myself and ask for my contacts and to check in my daughters glasses. It was terrible from the start.

I got an eye exam, contacts and glasses. The service was great every step of the way! My appointment was on time, the exam was quick, the lady who helped me get my glasses was great! She helped me choose a frame that would look good and fit my style. Glasses and contacts came quickly! There was a slight error with my glasses prescription however, it was resolved within 3 business days. Great service! Definitely will use this office again going forward.

Needed a last min eye exam due to certain circumstances they found time to squeeze me in and each person there treats you so kind all the way from the beginning of the process at the front desk to seeing the doctor all the way to payment where they make everything clear through the whole experience. This is not the first time in several years now that I have gone in for an appointment and NO ONE knows what I am there for. They took me to an exam room I went this morning for contact fitting, I said I am here for a contact fitting, they said oh well that is not on here, then proceeded to say, we will have to see if they are here they made the appointment so I said well they better be yall called me to come in I also made the comment that I thought I would be changing eye care providers because this wasnt the first time I had come in and they didnt have a clue, the girl who was helping me seemed uneducated as to what she was doing when I asked why are my contact lenses the same prescription and my glasses are different for each eye? she was like I dunno I said well, that is weird cause the doctor that did my exam said they had to order my prescription because they had one contact lens but not the other so I asked to talk to the actual doctor to ask WHY because I just wanted to understand, when he came out he said contact lenses are different than glasses, and that I didnt have to stay I could take them and try them out at home Not to mention that on one day 4 different people called within 15 minutes to tell me that my insurances wouldnt cover the exam and I had just resolved the issue with the prior person, the needed to file on the alternate coverage instead of the one they were trying to file on each time I went through the call I said gee whiz, I just spoke to another person not 2 minutes ago, but still got 2 additional calls for the same reason So, hmmm what? is really going on and why, is the doctor not interested in taking the time to do their damn job and explain about a prescription when a paying customer asks to simply be informed?! And, the day we were there for an exam, my daughter left a very expensive drink cup there, we called and asked 3 times for someone to check and see if it was left there that same day, each time it was we will look in lost and found and call you back we never heard a word, in my opinion one of their employees decided they liked it and never turned it in thus the reason we didnt get even a call to say I am sorry we didnt find that here

I’ve been coming to Eye Trends on Sawdust since the late 90’s. I’ve been seen by most of the doctors at one point or another, and they’ve all been great. Dr. Chad Toups has become my favorite, by far. He’s professional, succinct, fastidious, and really cares that he gets it right for his patients. He expects the same level of care from his assistants, which makes the visit exactly what you’d want it to be. Done right, and quickly. My experience with the front desk (Jasmine & Jesse), techs (didn’t get her name, but she was awesome), eyeglass selection & fit lady (Chelsea, or Kelsey 🤔 - she was excellent, either way!), and cashier were all top-notch & the reason my husband & I keep coming back here every year. It’s hard to find a good place to go, so give them a try if you’re looking! Ask for Dr. Chad Toups!

I am here at Eye Trends on Sawdust and Barbara is so, so very helpful!! I just so happened to be in with my husband because my husband is looking for a perfect fit of glasses. She started to help us decide how the glasses looked. We didn’t even have an appointment. We were just window shopping. She gave me her opinion.... too big..... too small. Then she asked if we had an appointment. Neither of us did, so she was able to get us both seen right then and there. She was so sweet and personable! Great experience!

I dont know that I can speak to how the doctors here measure up against those in other practices, but I can confidently say that the staff have impressed me time and again with their willingness to go the extra mile for the customer (me). In the end, most of the customer interaction is with staff, so these folks are the cornerstone of any successful practice.Barb, in particular, has been a tremendous help in my visits and always has a smile on her face. I went to the store yesterday with my glasses, which had melted due to high heat. Kyle assisted me. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get the new progressive lenses. In the meantime, Kyle was nice enough to cut temporary lenses for my frames so that I could use them until the progressive lenses arrive. Kyle was very nice and went out of his way to help me. I highly recommend Eye Trends. Also, I found out that my glasses were under warranty and there would be no charge for the new lenses!

The doctors and front office staff are very nice and helpful. Id give them a 5. The staff working on the side with the glasses... eh not so much. The woman that assisted us didnt offer to help my 8 year old son pick out glasses at all. When asked where I should look for glasses for him I was told to try the kid wall but they might be too small. Which they were. When I asked where else I could like she said maybe look at Oakley, Nike or RayBan. Those glasses were way overpriced for a little kid who is rough on his glasses. Found the cheap section myself and found a decent pair of glasses that my insurance would cover with no help at all from this woman. Worst service Ive ever received when picking out glasses. Next time Ill wait for someone else if she tries to assist us.

We have been coming to the Woodlands eye trends for over 10 years and they have always been amazing. From the front office staff to the techs, doctors and cashiers. Our family will continue to come here as long as they are open. Today especially they have gone above and beyond to help my kids get their damaged glasses repaired super fast (and last minute even though I walked in late in the day) so they can see (poor things are blind as all get out) and potentially impact school! Love this place!!

This year was my first experience with Eye Trends and my daughters first eye exam ever. Although she saw one doctor while I was seeing another, she was comfortable enough to do so without me (shes 10). I spent A LOT of time picking out glasses and everyone was very patient with me. There were a lot of options and all of the trendy brands - which is what I wanted when purchasing something to sit on my face 60 hours a week. Once done, I mentioned in our conversation that my old glasses were so old that the case had basically fallen apart. The associate helping us gifted me a new case for them! The day our glasses were ready, I picked up mine and when my daughter got out of school we went to get hers. After I had gotten mine that day, I had rushed in the house and sat my designer shades down somewhere I shouldnt have and my daughter accidentally broke them. When we picked up her glasses, I mentioned it and the lady helping us FIXED them for me - free of charge. I didnt even buy them there. She saved me a couple hundred dollars. Then, they gifted me a new case for my shades because I did not have one. They gave my daughter multiple cleaning cloths, the case that was included with her glasses, an extra one that could stay in her backpack & a soft one for her nightstand. The doctors and staff were all helpful, patient and kind and we will continue to go back -- plus you should see my amazing new glasses!

Why have a website that allows you to schedule a visit show up on time to be told that its just a request and they won’t see you, that if you want you can sit down and wait until they see you and then call you 15 min after your appointment time to see if you want to reschedule. Guess I will have to take my business elsewhere.

I received a call stating that I had an appt on a certain date at a certain time. It instructed me to bring my glasses, contacts, and insurance card and to call their number if I needed to reschedule. To me, this seems like a straightforward call informing me of an already scheduled appointment. I called them back and they told me that it was not in fact a scheduled appointment, but a reminder to make one. I drive a fair distance to get to them and have been going to them for over 10 years. If I had not called to confirm then I would have driven out there and wasted my time. This voicemail needs to be fixed in order to avoid inconveniencing loyal customers in the future. I mentioned this to them last year and it has yet to be fixed. Disappointing.

I’ve never had a problem with getting my eyes examined at other offices before, but this was truly the best experience I’ve ever had. The staff was phenomenal in their ability to be personal and professional. I only need to go once a year but I’m already trying to make an excuse to return- and I do have real life family and friends. After my appointment, I scheduled my husband’s and will be accompanying him just to say hi again. Lol

First off, the service getting my eyes tested and then fitted for contacts was good. They have a lot of high tech tools. The Dr. was GREAT, very through - professional. No complaints. My only criticism is that they have less than stellar customer service on the backend. Just trying calling the office and to talk to someone about ordering contacts. Good luck. They evidently only answer phone calls from folks scheduling an appointment. I called and left a message noting that I would like to order contacts. I left my phone number and name. Did I get a phone call back? Nope. So in conclusion, this is a good place to get your eye prescriptions, not so good at getting your contacts or glasses ordered.

Look, the facility is nice and the doctors are nice as long as youre going in for a yearly check up but heaven forbid life takes over and you missed a check up or you didnt order contacts when you were supposed to and youre S.O.L. My husband lost his contact while trying to put it in at 4:30am and couldnt find where it dropped. He went to work anyway for his usual 12 hr shift because he didnt want to be late and get in trouble. He now has a headache and is dizzy which is so dangerous especially since he works with electric tools and wiring things together. I called Eye trends to figure out what we could do so he doesnt have to go until September, when his yearly check up is, to get some more contacts. Since he never ordered contacts last September due to an eye infection, dr ordered for him to come back when his eye was cleared and they would order him contacts then and of course being the hard working man he his he couldnt find the time to go back. Now they wont give him a trial pair until his next appointment in September when he can order more contacts. How in the hell is a person who works 40+hrs a week and is on the road driving to and from work 2 hrs a day supposed to go without a contact for a month and half? Unless we want to pay out of pocket for an exam and contacts right now. Which everyone knows is crazy expensive. That was the ladys answer to that question. And when I said so there is no help from you guys she said sorry. No compassion or sympathy for regular blue collar people. Their hours are even unforgiving of people who work 40+ hours a week. Im done with this place. Like I said, great with a yearly check up but if you have an accident or a problem youre screwed. They just turn their back and offer zero help. At the very least have another eye place in your phone for such an occasion. Good luck

The best vision care experience Ive had. Dr Mike Toups listened to my concerns about previous prescriptions and fine tuned a complicated multi-focal contact lens Rx, Ive not seen this well in over 20 years. When I told him I am diabetic, he tailored my care to ensure he is tracking my special needs. Everyone here is so helpful, highly recommended!

My family and I have been going here for years. They are friendly and professional. I like how they will text or call you before an appointment to remind you and you can schedule your appointments online. I have had to transfer prescriptions from the Sawdust location to other businesses and all went smoothly. They have a wide variety of frames available and are really good about providing a spare set of contact lens when you lose yours. The waiting rooms are comfortable and theres a kids area where they play Disney movies while you wait. Overall its the best place for me and my family to go to for our eye care.

After a not so pleasant experience at another eye store I decided to try Eye Trends in the Woodlands. I am so happy I did. The doctor and staff were very good but the optician that helped me with my glasses was beyond excellent. Christy was knowledgeable, kind and cared what was best for me. Although I didnt end up needing to keep my appointment, I will go here in the future and because of Barbara (Barb)...shes one of the nicest, most helpful, caring people Ive ever met simply by a phone conversation. I had pink eyes in both eyes and called Eye trends to get in to see a doctor... they were able to get me in right away .... after some insurance issues I called back and spoke to Chelsea who was able to get my Rx changed and sent over to the pharmacy within the hour. Great customer service!

Always leave with a great feeling and wonderful glasses!! The staff is extremely thorough, and I never feel rushed. This time the associate who helped me pick out my frames was amazing. She took her time and was extremely honest when I picked out a few frames that were not right for me..she also helped work within my budget! I could not have asked for a better experience! Thanks

I took my kid in to get new frames and lenses. The doctor was great but everything before and after that was horrible. The first room they bring you in to do the eye exam was overcrowded. It was difficult to maneuver and hard to hear over the conversations of the other people in the room. The experience with the doctor was great but after that the frame selection process was rushed. The sales rep kept telling me I had $75 toward frames and I had to remind her multiple times it was $110. After the selection was made I checked to see what these frames sold for just to make sure the insurance company and myself are getting a fair deal. The frames they had listed for $190 were currently on the manufacturers website for $103. Almost double the price. I checked other frames and all were just about double the price. So what seems like a good price after insurance is just about retail. When I asked about the price I was told there is nothing they can do. With my kid having a broken pair of glasses held together by tape I had no choice but to take it up the rear. He already waited about aweek for the appointment and from reading current post the new pair won’t be in any time soon.

My daughter and I recently had eye exams at Eye Trends. Without insurance, the exam is reasonably priced. We had a pleasant overall experience with the staff, Dr. Roach and Kyle Barnes who helped fit my daughter for glasses. Kyle was especially helpful and patient while she tried on every pair of glasses, made a decision, changed her mind and then eventually decided on the original choice she made. LOL.

The experience was great from beginning to end.Dr’s were great and have good staff working on their behalf.My only concern is the length of time it might take to recieve my glasses and the frame cost.I would recommend, and if you have single vision it’s much better.

Great and friendly staff! Called in after the kingwood location was closed due to the flooding after Harvey and their staff was extremely helpful in getting my daughters contacts replaced. Jamie and the Manager were very understanding and helpful. Thank you!

Would give them a zero star if I was able.Severe over pricing & their office manager has some of the worst customer service skills.Waste of 3 hours on a Saturday.I even asked to speak with one of the doctors and was given nothing but excuses why I couldnt.It seems like every time we go there, the customer service is poor.

She even took precise measurement of my face and glass that frankly Ive never seen and it made a big difference in the way I see the world through my glasses. I had an amazing experience at Eye Trends yesterday when I went for my eye exam. The staff was very pleasent and eager to help. Courtney Wright was very helpful with my insurance concerns and took her time to answer my questions. Dr. Kristynik was wonderful and explained the details of my exam and future treatments in a way that I could understand and remember. Will definitely be going back.
