I told Jackie that Id give her 25 stars if I could!!! I needed my wedding rings sized up and my sister-in-law recommended AmeriPawn to me. (Valparaiso location) I took my rings in on Friday, expecting to get a call in a week or two. Jackie had them ready to go by Monday. Not only did she do an awesome job with the sizing, but she re-dipped them for me as well! What a nice surprise!!! They are so beautiful and shiny again, AND they fit perfectly! I am not a big pawn store fan, but the ameripawn in Valparaiso is unlike any other. Although it is smaller, they have a great jewelry department. We took in several pieces of jewelry that needed repair and they were quick, friendly, and very very reasonable compared to what other stores wanted to charge me. Ive actually bought some tools from them also and saved some cash.If you dont like pawn stores but need jewelry repair, give the ameripawn in Valparaiso a try. This pawnshop is great. They are always more than fair on prices and very honest. The shop always has a good selection of tools and stuff in the musical instruments category. They are clean and very organized. The staff is always friendly, polite and professional. I recommend this shop for sure!!!

I went to the Ameripawn jeweler in Valpo for a pair of diamond earrings and for a diamond necklace and am completely satisfied. The prices are so amazing and the quality is wonderful. My father always told me not to go to a jewelry store like Kay’s or Martin Binder because they overcharge insanely and the second you buy a diamond you’ll never get back what you paid for it. I have been taking jewelry for repair to Ameripawn for years - everything from resizing my most expensive piece, which I inherited from my grandmother, all the way to some sentimental pieces that I just wanted to keep wearing. Kristine has been knowledgeable, straight, skilled and respectful in every situation as have been her staff. Recently, I made the mistake of taking my wedding ring first to Martin Binder to fix. They were either unable or unwilling to fix it. I took it to Ameripawn and they completely restored it. It looks like it did the day I got it. Thank you!

NEVER buy tools from here! Every single tool I have ever bought from this place has broken on first use they are nowhere near experienced enough to tell if a tool is in good working order they just turn it on and say ok lets sell it it works for now! And they dont make it right either. Can you really trust a place that only allows returns for 24 hours? No!

I have always had good experiences here. Chris, Steve, and Louis are some stand up guys and always make me feel like a valued customer as do the other staff in both the pawn shop and Engstroms. Definitely worth looking into if you are wanting to buy or sell something.

Very nice employees, no complaints there. Yet they offered me $50 for a ring that is only one year old and costed $1000. I laughed, took my ring back and politely said “well thanks anyway have a good night”.

Complete scammers. Selling power equipment that they know is broken. Cover and hide damages, no warrantee. They prey on people with little money who need the item. Then the unsuspecting customer is left with broken junk and they are out their last dollar. They have no conscious. If your looking for used inexpensive items, check the Market Place. They also will not give you 5 cent on the dollar when you sell. Sell yourself for 50 times more. Thanks for broken junk that lasted one hour and needed 350 repairs. You knew it was broken

I was looking for a unique piece of jewelry for a friend in July and someone told me to go into this store and look at the jewelry-WOW they had a perfect gift. I purchased the piece and it was a huge hit. I came back for a Christmas gift and again found another great piece. Great service! Perfect items and quality pieces. I will make this my first stop when I look in the future-Thansk for taking time to help me. I highly reccomend.

I messaged this store about a nintendo ds at 610 pm yesterday. I was told they had the item in stock. I come in today and spend 45 minutes watching 2 employees stumble around calling the guy who I talked to unable to find my item. Then Im told the item I wanted was not the item they have. This store false advertises, and is obviously completely unorganized to the point they dont even know what items they do and dont have. Driving to Valparaiso to this store was a complete waste of time. Dont even waste your time going to or calling this store.

Lady at jewelry dept rude . 10 .00 ?? For two nice size diamonds and bunch of little ones only thing was missing was the biggest diamond paid 3800 and she looked at it didnt weight it and just said 10.00 that was a insult and a rip off if you ask me they didnt have such rude people working there they might get more people and I was told from several people dont go there they will rip u off well I guess they were right

I have noticed that some people have a bad opinion of The Pawn Shop. I can only speak for myself when I say that this place has saved me on numerous occasions. Weather its a couple bucks for gas or a few hundred for the NIPSCO bill they have been there for me. I have also purchased multiple items from them. They have great deals on everything from video games to jewelry. I have a wife and five children and Im not rich so I dont have a savings nor do I have well off friends and family members to turn too for help so without places like this one, me and everyone else in my situation wouldnt have anywhere to turn to. Overall this place is great and so are the people working there. I would like to especially thank Christine, Steve, and Chris for always being there and always being fare weather Im making a purchase or Im getting a loan on an item for some extra money. Thanks to all of you for everything you do for me and the community.

Friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable staff. For buyers, the selection of items is extensive (particularly tools, coins, and electronics) and at overall good prices. For sellers, be ready to negotiate for the price you want and/or be prepared to accept much less than what you may have been expecting to get for your items. Definitely a place to check out, though.
