I Dropped my car off for only an oil change, which I have a warranty that covers the expenses for the job. I come back in a few hours and I noticed on the print out that they rotated my tires, inspected my vehicle, along with the oil change. Paco later called me to remind me that I had left my warranty card. The next day I walk in and I let Stephen know I was looking for the card. He quickly went looking for it. Thank you Paco and Stephen yall arent just any shop. Highly recommend Pepboys Hutton Lane.
Posting this to reflect my awesome experience getting vehicle safety inspected with Stephen and Timothy today. Depending on what time you get there and how many other customers will determine the wait time. Was impressed with the customer service provided by Stephen who was able to call another store with a shorter wait time and create an appointment for a customer who had time constraints.
I had my girlfriend take in my car because I had to work and they tried to upcharge her a total of $722 for issues that I knew for a fact didn’t need to be fixed. I knew it was wrong so I told her not to pay. I knew they just were trying to take advantage of her because they assumed she didn’t know better. Next day I took it to another shop and they gave me a total of $120. Never trust this shop again.
They added more repair to it by themselves and they dont tell the customer, because the last time I came they gave me false information about the repair. Then I found out until I paid for it, there nothing I can do now. So I recommend you not to go there
Forgot my coupons at home but they applied my discount anyway. This location worked with me to get the best services for my car and money and provide great customer service hands down. Will be back!
Dropped my car over overnight do do an early bird oil change. Followed the directions to a tee and parked in a spot near the service door like instructed. Got a call the next morning asked if my exhaust was working okay when I dropped it off. My catalytic converter had been cut and surprise surprise... There are no cameras WHERE THEY TELL YOU TO PARK. I was told I would have to get it replaced at a muffler shop. A 30 dollar oil change turned into a thousand dollar repair. The staff was very nonchalant and unapologetic.
I don’t usually do google reviews but I had to take the time to do so and consider in doing this review. One particular employee named Sarah was very impressionable with her customer service. Her personality was very inviting and welcoming throughout the whole time I was in the store. She was very attentive in helping me with what I needed help with. Very personable in striving to fulfill what the customer needed and resolving the matter quickly. Nice to be at a place where people make you feel like you matter. I would definitely go back to this store.
Another great experience with Pep Boys! First time at this location and Robert and his crew provided outstanding service. My daughter arrived after the Main store was closed and Robert helped her in the garage. She brought her car here for a flat tire fix. Although we have tire warranties from Sam’s Club, Sam’s auto tech couldn’t get the over torqued lug nuts off, so they pumped the tire with air and my daughter drove it to PB on Hutton. It’s across from Lowe’s on VB Boulevard. We picked the car up the next evening. Not only did they fix the tire, they gave her some new lug nuts, no charge. Robert also discounted the cost of fixing the tire. True to every experience we have ever had with Pep Boys, they go the extra mile to provide the best customer service and automotive repairs and services. We haven’t been disappointed yet! Thank you Robert and crew😊
Dark parking lot and entrance through garage door at night was a little scary at first, but great service and really quick when a friends windshield wiper broke off on a, yes, dark and stormy night. I waited outside and she returned to tell me she was 2nd in line to not only buy the specific wipers for her car, but to have Pep Boys INSTALL it on the spot. She felt perfectly safe to stay there, and by the time I dropped off another friend, prepared to go back and wait for her, she had texted me that she was good to go, and back home safely. Well done! 5 stars with better lighting! It is down a lane from the main road, easily seen from the stoplight at the intersection. Lots of signage on front doors during the pandemic March 2021.
Went to pepboys a bit ago to have them work on my Audi A8 for a waterpump, tire rotation, and oil change. They went above and beyond and I really appreciate the professionalism. Ive been taking my car there for years but this time really stood out as to why I trust them with my cars. Thanks again!
I took my car for an inspection on 2/18/2021 ... dropped it off at the Pep Boys off Hutton Rd., a few hours later I got a call saying that my car had not passed, and needed some work. Not there fault but I was upset because I didnt need another bill, so I told Sarah I think (Assistant Mgr) to just put a rejection sticker on it... she got a little irritated when I told her to just reject it ...Later that day, I called again and ask for the details - what needed to be done to pass inspection. Sarah again sounded frustrated, and said ... she had gotten rid of the estimate because I said to reject the car. I said I could call back - she got short with me and said she would call me back. She (Sarah) did call back and indicated I needed left front ball joints (or something similar) and my right brakes were locked up. Cost would be $461.00... Hmm I thought, if my brakes were locked up how could I drive the car? I asked and her response was ... thats what the mechanics had put down - and the repair was needed. Again I asked how was I able to drive the car with a brake drum frozen up. Sarah got upset again, I could hear a deep breath from her, and her tone of voice was irritated!I then told her if she did not want my business, I could take it somewhere else ... I then told her I would call her back later ...The next morning I called again, with the intent to tell them to go ahead and fix the car. Sarah answered the phone. When I asked her again about the repairs, she said you mean for the car to pass inspection (That of course was the reason I brought the car in) ... there was a pause and another deep breath, and Sarah said .... the cost is $1,042 (or some amount close to that) ... I quickly asked what happened, and that I was told $461.00 the day before. She then said that it also needed some other work that was not explained to me the day before ... Yes I got irritated, because the price had changed and Sarah acted like she was not interested in my business. Keep in mind I have been going to the same Pep boys for years ... but since she didnt want my business, I told her I would pick up the car, and for them to not do anything ...Picked up the car the next day, and took it to a competitor of Pep Boys. Told them I just needed an inspection and nothing else. Did not tell them about my experience at Pep Boys. Got a call a few hours later and wala, the car PASSED inspection with NO WORK required. Yes they made some recommendations, but nothing was needed to pass inspection. The story goes like this ... dont trust Pep Boys especially the one located on Hutton Rd - they tried to do work that was not needed so they could make a buck, but the BIGGER story is that they forgot what customer service is, and I am positive I am not the first irritated customer.Sarah needs to be re-trained or replaced!I usually dont post complaints, etc. - a lot of times they get blown out of proportion - but because they tried to rip me off, I fill it necessary to post this.
My family has been taking our cars here for years and they are seriously the best. Fast, fair, and friendly.
Good place for all auto needs. If dealership wants to repair, take car for work at Pep Boys for correct fix at much better price
We bring several vehicles to this location and always get great service. Just this week, I came up to have my car serviced. Stephen Zale fixed my car quickly and had me out in plenty of time for my appointment. Thank you so much. Highly recommend.
Excellent service. Excellent team work. Thanks everyone.
I always come to this location because its so close to home and im always in and out! Everyone is so fast and friendly. Especially Paco, he always brightens my day and makes sure I get what I need quickly. Highly recommend!
Thank you good service!
Stephen is the best and has a true heart for his customers. He has always gone above and beyond for me. Although I live closer to other Pep Boys and NTB is across from my house, I always go to the Pep Boys on Sutton Lane for my vehicle needs. Thank you for always providing outstanding service with competitive pricing!
Outside of pep boys at 723 pm on a Saturday and they lock the doors. Store dont close till 8. All I needed was some how clamps. Rediculous. Will not be back.
Great staff and service at this location. Sarah and Stephen in particular have been taking care of me and my vehicle for the past 5 years and wouldnt consider going anywhere else. Thanks guys!
Had my truck ready in an hour after dropping off, reasonable service fee and truck driving like a champ!
Its always a pleasure to visit that location! The staff has always been patient and helpful with each visit. Its worth the drive from Chesapeake to Virginia Beach for the quality service.
Good until I found out they didnt change my oil like I asked and I now have to go somewhere else to check there work.Dont recommend
I just love their customer service!!! Theyre ALWAYS kind and extra patient with me. They listen to me explain the issue even if i dont know what Im talking about lol anyway... cant beat the service 😁
Called Pep boys when they opened; needing a very specific auto part for my vintage car. I was greeted on the phone by Bunny. She was very informative and helpful in searching for a universal or exact fit part. She covered information for both options. Bunny found that my exact part was in stock. She then put me on hold to go physically grab the part. To my SHOCK, it was in stock. She then placed the part with my name, up at the front counter to be purchased/ picked up.Walking into this Pep boys location; I was pleasantly greeted and surprised to see a large number of FEMALE sales associates working in the store. I outwardly expressed that it was nice to FINALLY, see this from a company, even though the industry is largely dominated by the male chromosome. I am sure these ladies get mixed reactions/ reviews from male customers that need/want something from the Pep boys inventory. After making my comment, I was informed by another person that some men, when entering the store, want a male sales associate to assist them and none were available at the time so that male consumer walked out; only to return when a male dominated staff was present.**Not all male consumers are Egomaniacal men that must learn that FEMALES know their stuff too and wouldnt be hired if they were not knowledgeable of the field being practiced.**I am comfortable with any gender assisting me.Thank you, Ladies! Hats off to you Pep boys, kudos for the enriched gender staffing! Bunny made my day and so did Pep boys for having my part in stock.
Friendly and I give customer service 100
The best people ever.
Place is changed in few months bad alignment performed, rechecked in another place. Careless personal. Whatever service. Reminds me careless Nissan Boney Rd dealership.
Stephen Tried to charge me $674 for replacing radiator. $340 for parts and $230 for labor. Didn’t ask me any questions picked out the most expensive radiator he could find ($320) and added his own extended warranties up there. Got the radiator for 87$ at Bap Geon and got the work done elsewhere for 180$. Treat people right . Please ! 😜
2 into very big did not have what I was looking for
Was told to come in first thing in the morning to get my inspection done. So i get there when they open and they tell me they’re not doing inspections this day.
A huge Thank You to the Pep Boys team and specifically Rob, Bucky, Carter & Stephen at the Virginia Beach location on Hutton Ln. My Jeep has never looked or driven better!I’ve done business at this store for almost 10 years and have always had a decent experience. The employees I’ve encountered have always been courteous, professional and have generally been helpful. So when I ordered my tires and rims online, I was pleased to see my local Pep Boys listed as an option for the installation. The tires arrived earlier than expected so I requested a change to my installation date. Stephen (service department) was able to fit me in that day but, an unforeseen snag with another vehicle pushed my vehicle to the end of the line. At 15 minutes prior to close, I could see my vehicle on the lift yet the installation had not begun. I was floored when the service team (Rob, Bucky and Carter) stayed well past store hours (>2hrs) to get the tires properly seated and prepped for balancing. This was no easy task as the tires are plus size (mud tires) and are extremely heavy not to mention the tire/rim matchup did not make for easily seating beads. These guys all displayed great attitudes throughout the entire process. They went out of their way to make an otherwise awkward situation (feeling rushed -last customer in closed store) pleasant and one I’ll not soon forget. Stephen was able to finalize the tire seating, balance/alignment, cleaning and installation of the wheels. From a business perspective, I know the ‘man hours’ worked -at any reasonable rate- far exceeded the price of this installation and if anything, the company lost money on this particular job. However, the time, effort and the team’s devotion to provide excellent customer and quality service has earned them my business and is why I’ve been a loyal customer all these years. This crew is appreciated and should be recognized for the outstanding customer service they provided. Thanks again Rob, Bucky, Carter, Stephen and the rest of the Hutton Ln Pep Boys team.
This place is not worth the gas it takes to drive out to. The staff is not curious by any means and would rather send you scanning trough the isles instead of helping you find what you need because they rather stay behind the empty register and Yap about with nearby employees. The place is not stocked either, I find myself constantly coming back to same sold out hot items that are used more often and it continues for month. I am not the kind of person who likes to spend his time putting down the business but I would like the management to cantact me to try and work this issue out. I would like to fix my local auto shop store and have solutions rather then just putting the business down.
Excellent overall service by Sarah. Highly recommend.
Jason and Mark were super helpful today. I went in today to get a lightbulb and Mark found the exact bulb I needed quickly. Jason was kind enough to install it for me, which is so rare these days. The whole team at Pep Boys is so friendly.
Older gentleman with tattoos Nd piercings who helped me was great!
I have used them a few times now for some minor routine stuff. Each and every time I have a wonderful experience. The guys always remember me so we can continue our banter from each visit. Highly recommend you visit them!Edit note - was originally supposed to be 5 stars not 4
Went there for state inspection, they failed me, and then proceeded to tell me I needed an entire new e-brake assembly for almost $500. My e-brake has never given me issues before so I went to a different mechanic and they told me that it was slightly loose but all they needed to do was to adjust the e-brake tightness which they did for free and then passed me. I almost got scammed out of $500.
I was driving west on I264 when I lost my fan belt. I had been to the grocery store, so I had eggs, milk, and other perishables in the car. Note: it was about 83 degrees out. Pep Boys was the closest parts store so I landed there with no ac, power steering etc. After I bought the belt I asked if a tech was available and one was not. With hope almost all lost the service manager came out just asked what year my car was. Stephen then proceeded to look up the specs take a picture of the belt assembly and walk out to my car and start working. Not only did he climb under the car while in the parking lot but he worked from above getting greasy dirty from above. With just a little help from me, 25 minutes later I was back in business! W hen I asked him how much for the job he smiled and said dont worry about it gave me something to do. I own my own small business and know the amount of work it takes to manage, he was plenty busy. As a man on the back nine I can tell you this kind of effort (above and beyond) is not the norm but the exception! I was blown away! I know now that if I need service on my vehicle there is nowhere else I will go, as I was a part of a random act of kindness that is rarely if ever seen any more. Thank you Stephen I only hope my clients see me as someone like you!
I stood in line for approx 10 mins felt longer it was probably longer. 1 cashier and 1 customer and he was having issues with transaction. No parts customers. I guess thats why i dont shop there. Some people are rude and slow service.its my last resort.
Ive never seen such a lazier bunch of people I think most of them need to go back to work at farm fresh where they worked a couple days ago they certainly dont belong in the auto parts store business
Gotta have more of these places not many of them good service though
I needed tires in a hurry and they got me what I needed. Whole tire package top rated tires and them installed and out the door fast. They saved me close to $200 on the same tires that other places were offering with a discount.
I have been coming here for a year now. This place is great. Dont listen to the bad reviews. They treat you fairly and always give you the best customer experience. I recommend this place to everyone. David and his boss (white guy with white hair and bread) (Im sorry I forget your name) are great and always take care of your car professionally.
Went there for basic tire change, left there trusting they did their job correctly... Instead I ended up in a very unsafe situation due to an error on their behalf. Will NEVER return to Pep Boys. Now i am in debt beyond belief because of Pep Boys.
Talked to a female service employee on the phone to get a quote for service on my truck. She was quick to get me off the line, stating she had a bunch of things already on her plate and that she would call me back. Poor customer service and she was quite rude. I never received a call back and regardless of whether or not it would’ve been cheaper to go here I will not do business with a company who hires such unprofessional people.
My son was visiting on Sunday. When he went to leave we noticed he had a tire that was almost flat. I noticed his tires were at the end of life. We called around for an appointment including at another company were I had done most of my tire related business like this in the past. We could not get an appointment in time before they closed on Sunday. We called Pep Boys but they were different. They said they would get it done in time, just come in and they would take care of us. We came right in. They replaced his tires with a recommended set. And finished on time. I recommend Pep Boys. Nice job. Good service. Very pleased.
The staff here are knowledgeable and willing to help with any question Ive had. Their prices seem to be competitive to other stores, and it is easy to find things you may need. The store has plenty of parking and is easy to access; it is just right off of Virginia Beach boulevard.
Went to have car inspected... only 1 hr wait. Plus they changed my oil and installed new windshield wipers I bought there ( free installation) Sarah and Stephen in service sept at Pep Boys on Hutton lane are the greatest friendliness not to mention very knowledgeable service people ever. The cashier I purchased wipers with at counter also friendly and helpful. My oil drain plug and gasket were old and worn out which I would have never even thought about... they found and fixed and the parts only $3.33. The prices are GREAT. I WILL DEFINITELY BE TAKING MY CARS THERE FOR REPAIRS INSPECTIONS AND ALL ELSE. so glad I finally found a car repair shop that is economical knowledgeable and the greatest employees ever IM TRULY IMPRESSED
Paco provides great advice and customer service.
7 visits to 5 Pep Boy locations dealing with warranty A/C replacement.California, Louisiana. Colorado, Alabama & now Virginia ...losing a lot of my freedom 😪hoping Virginia Beach, Virginia location will be final location after 4 complete A/C replacements ...“Run-A-Way Bill” was here!10.25.19
They do a great service here for the common light to medium-heavy work. Their work is speedy, accurate and clean. They are professional and have good prices. Though, for more vehicle specific work I suggest your dealer.
Custom Service is top notch. Mike and his team helped me out in a pinch; they were fast, professional and there prices are great. Highly recommend to anyone that needs any automotive issues handled correctly!!!
I have never had such wonderful service and people that truly went out of their way to help me. They took me in last minute at 7pm, even though they close at 8pm, when another tire place who had told me originally that they could help me ended up turning me away. I truly appreciate that the manager Scott got me in right away and the employees that were kind enough to work on it last minute right before closing. This will be where I will go for quality auto repair service from now on! They definitely care about their customers!
Came in a not too long before closing. These guys were great and took care of us quickly and professionally when we really needed them! Thanks for the great service and kindness even at the end of the day. You are appreciated!
I never leave reviews so this says something. I came in an hour before close on a Saturday, the staff was very helpful and patched my tire and did an oil change sense I was already in there. Even though it was last minute they didnt skimp out on anything (Ive had some places not replace my oil filter on a normal day). Hope this review helps someone I will for sure be coming here again its hard to find a good car shop.
In a word this location is unethical and willing to take advantage of customers perceived ignorance. Avoid them at all costs. My wife and I took her car in here for VA state inspection and we were told that to pass she needed to have about $150 in repairs done. Now this car is less than four years old, and had been serviced recently by this very same Pep Boys, which had at that time not seen any of the supposed problems that they now claimed needed repair. Because of this we were very suspicious about the need for the repairs, and at any rate the repairs they claimed needed to be done (new air filter, new wipers, new brake lights) were basic enough that we could do them ourselves for less money than they wanted. So she told them not to do the repairs. Heres why theres no doubt in my mind they were trying to scam us though: When we pick the car up theyve suddenly decided to pass it and had done only one of the repairs (they supposedly replaced a brake light), which Ill add they did contrary to our instructions. Theres no conceivable reason they would have done this had the car really needed repairs. The only plausible explanation is that they now realized that either we would take it to another inspector who would call them on their scam or that contrary to what they assumed we knew enough about car repair to spot the scam ourselves. So dont take your car here for any sort of repair unless youre able and willing to fend off scams. Or better yet find an honest mechanic; they do exist.
I could not wait to brag on the team at this location because of the high level of customer service that was extended! Rebecca really went above and beyond! She took the time to explain what we needed and why. She was very kind, honest and really exceeded our expectations. Thank you guys for making a trip for vehicle maintenance so great and showing that good customer service does exist! Well done!
Always helpful, I dont go to other locations because they are individually run. They give me all possible options, knowing Im on a fixed income, and I appreciate that level of attention. Over the last decade Ive only had a few subpar interactions, with employees that were gone the next time I came in while they good folks are there year after year. Ron, Mike, Scott, all stand up fellows that get me the work I need done as quickly and frugally as possible.
Some of the employees were polite and responsive. The mechanic that worked on my vehicle did not install my front and rear brakes correctly. I had to return the following day due to a terrible, loud grinding and scraping noise and a burning smell. It sounded like the bottom of my car was dragging on the road. I recorded this noise so if anyone at Pep Boys is interested in seeing/hearing it, I have it. My car is 5 years old, one owner, serviced regularly, and has 45k miles. It is by no means in a state of disrepair. The woman at the front desk offered the following explanation: The plates slid. It is more common than you think. This is really concerning considering I paid nearly $800 dollars for a pro-active repair (my brakes ranked at a 3 and a 4 according to Pep Boys. I also had a tire rotation and an oil change done.). Obviously, this experience was inconveniencing in that I had to rearrange my schedule, cancel meetings, and use two Ubers to get to a meeting and back to Pep Boys. I was offered no other explanation than what I mentioned above and was given a simple sorry. Really, really frustrating experience. I feel like I cant trust that my car wasnt further damaged and now I have to find a new repair and maintenance center, not just for my car but all of the cars in my household.
Everyone in this place is always so nice and helpful and being a female going into these places is incredibly nerve wrecking and they have never made me feel less than or not capable with figuring out car stuff. The answer all my questions so patiently.
Sara behind the service counter is Great. Very helpful and informative. She really cares about the customers. I will definitely return to the Hutton Rd store. As a matter of fact, I am getting ready to open a fleet account and will have all of my company trucks serviced at this location. Keep up the good work Sara!
Stephen and Sarah were awesome! They helped me figure out the right service needed and it felt like family. Anytime I need service this will be my go to! If youre on the fence, give them a shot.Update 1/16/19: Always a great experience at this location. When their service manager Stephen isn’t available, Sarah is a super close second in providing the best customer service! #thanksfortrustingtheboys
I have only purchased odds and ins at the Pep Boys, so I really cant leave a review for their service department for matinence of your vehicle and more. I can say that their customer service was pretty good both times Ive visited.
Ive always come to this pep boys for my tires and they have always treated me great. Robert really helped me out today, very quick and friendly.
In November 2018 I took my jeep to Pep Boys for the annual inspection. Although I past inspection, I was told that my back brakes would need to be replaced. I was not able to replace them at that time as I was quoted about 360.00$ and could not cover the cost. Recently, my brakes started to make noises so I decided to have them checked again. I went to Tread Quarters as a family member recommended. Upon their inspection I was told that my brakes were almost like new, at a 5. Needless to say I will not be taking another vehicle to Pep Boys for service.
Extremely nice staff at this location. I had a screw in my tire late at night on black Friday and they patched the tire for no charge even though they were very busy. In and out within 3 minutes. Thank you so much!
Quick stop for motor oil. Was able to borrow a funnel. Great service and didnt need to wait in line.
Amazing quality and great customer servious! Great team here!
They were less expensive and discussed my car rather than just told me what I needed. Refreshing approach
Scott is incredibly helpful and friendly. We were having a bad day trying to figure out car problems and this amazing man turned our day around so fast and helped get us the parts we needed
Quick and efficient
This is the only Pep Boys I will go to. The Lynnhaven location is trash, nothing Ive had repaired stays repaired. I usually go here for all my oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections. This is a great location and the manager Ron is very friendly and always looking out for the customers. Ive been going here for years and sometimes I might have an issue here or there. It normally gets resolved quickly. Ive worked in IT and electronic repair, so I know the ins and outs of most repair business models. Just make sure you come armed with facts and ask questions. I regularly research common issues and complaints for my vehicle. This will help you make more informed decisions. Also, dont be afraid to YouTube some of the repairs. Many of the small ones are doable (if you have the time) and pick n pull is right up the street. You can practice taking the part off at the junkyard, so you have a better idea how the part fits. I personally like that pep boys have a corporate backing. Ive had some bad experiences with mom and pop shops. I normally like to shop local, but not when it comes to car repairs. It just makes me feel better that there is an extra step I can take in the event something goes sour. The only complaint is that they have gotten extremely busy, so it can be difficult to get an appointment. You usually got to get there first thing in the morning on a weekday.
If I could put a 0 I would. Worst customer service from Paco. Ended up getting there at 630 said they could repaire a hole in my tire. By 830 still waiting. They told me wont be able to do I today. He got upset when I asked for my keys back and he called me rude and said his job is not to babysit me. ( told my feince that not me). Will never get my service again. I tried calling his supervisor no answer. This repair takes a max of 10 minutes. Paco should have informed me sooner or atleast not allow a person to jump in front of me with the same issues. For those who care. I have even emailed them about it. Still yet to year from the manager or company.
This place is great.. Ive been bringing all of my vehicles here for years, as well as getting my car care supplies... this is a one stop shop for your vehicle.
I love this place because Scotty-too-Hotty is the finest wiper blade installer around👀🖤🖤🖤🖤.
The people there are are very helpful and very nice and clean store so thats why i go there for parts the most sense i moved hear and i will continue to go there for parts and other things.
This pep boys is scam shop. Went in for a tune up and they said the labor costs would be over 300 dollars for approximately 3 1/2 hours. They also charged me for items they said may need replacing . My car was done in an hour. I asked Paco about this and he said its a set rate. I asked how could I be paying for something that I was not receiving. All I got from Paco ware this is the price. I took my car to Dons and found out I was down 3 quarts of oil. I had just one month earlier gotten an oil change at the very same location. When I called back about this they once again fed me lies and said the ar must have burned 3 quarts in one month. This location is scamming. News 10 will be investigating. Dont spend here
I had been going to this Pep Boys for two years straight with mostly good results. There is usually a really helpful girl working the counter. Not this time. I brought my car in for my state inspection last week and while they went for the usual suspects w/ markups (a few bulbs, wiper blades) they also said I need a new side mirror for $40 plus $125 for installation. I was able to find the part online for $25 and it took me all of twenty minutes to detach the old and install the new one with just a standard wrench kit. Im glad I didnt use them for this simple repair and saved upwards of $100, and will no longer trust them for repairs in the future.
My friend and I walked into the particular Pep Boys, and from start to finish, it was the best customer experience Ive had at an auto shop. We walked in for two simple things (screw driver to take of a side mirror and car paint for a few scratches) and Kyle and Josh helped us right away. Long story short, we tried to take the mirror off ourselves (in the parking lot) and it was way more complicated than we thought. The guys at the service department of the store were more than happy to assist us and got the job done in half an hour! Paco was extremely friendly and helped me with all of my car issues and questions. Jason, Fernando, and Bucky (and there was a lady whose name I didnt catch) were also super nice. I wish all auto places were as professional and courteous as this Pep Boys. I live about 45 minutes away, but would gladly travel out of the way to this shop every time if that is the sort of service I receive. Thanks you guys so much... and I certainly hope you all get rewarded appropriately.
Not a fan of the store. It is s little hidden off the beaten path. Staff was friendly once they recognized that you were in need of help.
Disappointing experience. Dropped my car off Sunday for a state inspection and was told they would be able to accommodate me by the end of the day. I get a phone call at the end of the day saying they were unable to service my car and if I decide to leave my car overnight they would do the state inspection first thing in the morning. So I left my car overnight and came back to pick it up Monday after work. They misplaced my file and were seriously questioning me whether I was absolutely sure I dropped my car off to them. Seriously?? When they finally found my file they said they voided it and didnt do a state inspection because they didnt think I wanted it done.... Then they asked me if I was off work any other day this week and if i wanted to come back???? No. And no thanks, Im not coming back. (Shouldve listened to my dad about not going there.)
I have going to this pep boys for years & never had any issues until recently I had my state inspection done. My car needed some motor mounts & a new tail light which is necessary, I understand. They quoted me 750$. I had done elsewhere for 450$. My issue is with the service tech David who has been contiunely rude to me and my folks who also get their cars serviced at pep boys. Attitude from hell, snippy over the phone & doesnt even make an attempt to help with questions. On the flip side, Mike & Stephen were both extremely helpful and understanding techs. If I speak with you more than 3 times and every time youre rude, youre asking for a bad review.
Called from the road about state inspection. Was told 3 in cue. Got there 4 min later, was told 6 in cue, average of 45 min per. Called Midas, was in and out on 1 hour.
Stopped by to get some oil and read why dash light was on........they were a big help.......thanks guys,!!
Great service for my 2016 toyota camry. All employee are really friendly and helpful. Recommended for everyone!
They are not very good at finding parts you need not helpful at all ended up going to auto zone
I bought 4 tires here. From the start my TMP light would not go off. They tried to blame everything but their work. I had to take the car to my dealer, Checkered Flag Honda, for them to reset the TMP sensors in the new tires! They charged Pep Boys over $100 for fixing it!
Don’t go here for an inspection. You will wait hours.
Im pretty satisfied with this Pep Boys location out of all of them, however the service there has been hit or miss. I went to get an inspection and got there right when they open at 7:30am. When I asked about getting it done, the guy at the counter said their opening inspector wasnt coming in until 11:30 and there were 6 cars ahead of me..... why is your OPENING inspector not there when you open? I was not going to wait until 11:30 and then wait until 6 other cars got done. I went somewhere else and my vehicle was pulled in for inspection within 40 mins. And it was a MUCH smaller place.
Ok
5 people working in the store, none of them overly helpful and they barely know where anything is. Never been a big fan
I come to this store almost every time Im in Virginia Beach. When I lived in VB, I came here often on my own volition to get parts for the various beaters that I owned at the time. Korinne, whom works in the special orders/Accounts section is always very helpful with a great sense of humor. Ive had quite a bit of tire work done here as well as bringin a buddys truck here to get brand new tires. No complaints from me! :D
They claimed the motor mounts on my mothers 01 Odyssey were broken and that it would cost well over $1,000 to replace them. When we told them we were taking it else where it took them 56 minutes to lower the lift and give the van back, nothing had been removed that needed to be reattached, they purposely dragged their heels and made a show of it. Stay away, take your money and your vehicle somewhere else. This is the second time this sort of thing has happened here and last time they claimed my wifes brake pads were bare when I had just replaced them a week before. Then as now, they slap a rejection sticker on the windshield instead of admitting their mistake. Watch out, they will try to bully you into spending money that you dont need to spend.
Went in looking for pet Halloween costumes, they had a great selection. Will return .
They wanted to charge us 400 dollars to replace the rear rotors and shoes in my car, so we failed the inspection. Did the replacement ourselves, the shoes were barely worn and the rotors were like new, they try to take advantage of people who dont know cars. I would recommend asking to see the part before replacing.
Terrible customer service. Took about 30 min for me to get my car back after they told me it had failed inspection. Guy at the counter (I think his name was Paco) was extremely rude and unprofessional. He even started talking to his coworker about taking pills and shots and getting drunk while we were waiting. Got my car inspected here the year before and had no problems. I dropped it off at 10 am and they didn’t call me till 6 pm. Apparently this place just doesn’t care anymore? 🤷🏻♀️ Don’t go here.
Jason fixed my tire. Very quickly and gave excellent advice. Def going back!
