I had Hwy 78 Auto perform an oil change, state inspection and general welfare check on my daughter’s 2012 Nissan Frontier. The truck has 140,000+ miles on it. They cleared out a sputtering windshield washer sprayer but otherwise said the truck was in good condition. That’s great service and gives peace of mind to a father. Their shop is clean, the waiting room is nice and comfortable, and Danielle is super pleasant and friendly. Great experience!

I recently went to get my state inspection done and knew I needed a bulb to pass inspection. Rodney said to go get the bulb and they would install it. I asked how much that would be and was told not to worry about it. When I returned with the bulb, I asked again if there was an additional charge outside of the cost of the inspection and was told not to worry about it. I received confirmation of my passed inspection, but was overcharged and was not provided an itemized receipt. The money means less to me than the integrity of the vendors I choose to do business with. My advice is to just be aware of what youre being charged and what youre paying.

I set up an appointment the night before I dropped my car off. I have a Honda Accord that had three warning lights on along with a sway bar linkage problem. Some of the codes were not making sense based on the repair history of the vehicle. Rodney called for clarification and determined my vehicle had a bad caliper. They also warned me that I should watch the brake fluid level in case the low level which triggered the warning was caused by something else.They also installed the sway bar linkage for me because I had attempted but failed the day prior. The fee for this was reasonable. As someone who has worked on my own vehicles, I appreciate that Rodney had the skill to figure out the cause and not haphazardly change out parts.

This place is the absolute best in the world. I would never ever dream of taking a car anywhere else. I have recommended them to several family members and friends, and each one of them feels the same. Weve all called around and priced various work we need done, and Hwy 78 Auto beats every competitor every single time. And not by just a little. I mean like seriously beats them. One example, a friend of mine needed a certain repair, everywhere she called said $270 for the part, then $300 - $400 for labor. Hwy 78s price? $280 for BOTH parts and labor. And this same scenario has happened over and over again with me and lots of people I know. And just as good as their prices is that they are truly a mom and pop operation. They will know you by name, they will ask about your kids and how your parents are doing. Seriously just really great people, great workmanship, amazing prices.

This garage is run by trustworthy straight-shooters. Rodney, the lead mechanic, will talk you through the problem your car is experiencing and provide you the most cost-effective solution. If you live anywhere near this auto repair shop, you should make Hwy 78 Auto your go-to place when your vehicle goes on the blink. I live in Fort Worth, but thank God my in-laws live in Wylie! I have taken my ‘09 Honda Accord to Rodney twice, and both times he has been absolutely outstanding in handling the Accord’s problems. Go to these folks, they will take care of you.

This is the third car Ive brought to these guys in about 20 or so years and Ive never left a review. Last time it was my rotors which, of course, was quoted at a price lower than everybody else. They didnt have the parts that day but told me to come the following day which was a Saturday. I didnt realize that they closed at noon on Saturdays until about 10:30 am. I was out picking up a couple for their checkout time at 11 and I knew I would have to hurry or wait till Monday. I brought the couple with me with their permission of course. They put 2 mechanics on my vehicle that were on standby for servicing my car. I was given this special treatment at no extra cost and done in 40 minutes! As always they showed me the identifying part numbers to the new parts to verify the new purchase and hurried home as I had caused them to be 10 min after closing. I will definitely be moe Chris ro then the next time I need a mechanic. They will always have my business.

They charge reasonable rates and have never tried to get me to fix or replace something that isnt broken.And for the record, my only relationship to this business is as a customer.

Went here after all the good reviews and after my truck started making grinding noises, greeted nicely once arrived, they jacked up my truck and figured out the problems right away and gave me what the repair cost would be up front which was decent i thought for a mechanic shop. Kevin helped me and got my truck back up and working the same day. Will be back for future repairs.

This is the best auto repair place I have ever been to. You know how your a girl and when you walk into a mechanic shop and usually get screwed. That was me for many years until I went to Hwy 78 auto. My car was getting an oil change and I over heard another woman state that she drove all the way from Richardson for that exact same reason. Ive been taking cars and trucks to Kevin Wallace (owner) for 15 years, and his crew really takes care of vehicles. They do good work, stand behind their service, and are very trustworthy. If I cant figure out whats wrong with my vehicle, I let him run diagnostics for $70. If I dont feel confident in fixing it, then he will do it.

Ive been using this shop for several years and Ive never once been disappointed! Today I took my Honda in and they took the time right then to check out the problem and recommended that I take it to the Honda dealership. In fact, he said dont let anyone else work in this. So glad they did bc the problem was covered under warranty! When I called back to thank them the owner told me he felt like it would be covered but didnt want to speak for Honda...but thats why he insisted I take it to Honda😊! These guys are the best! Finding a mechanic you trust is always difficult. Being from a completely different state next to Impossible to find a mechanic you trust. Ever since my husband and I found Highway 78 Auto we never bring our vehicles anywhere else. Their prices are fair. Their staff is helpful and considerate. They know their stuff. And when times are hard they can get you out the door and running at minimal expense. They are counted amongst one of our blessings.

I am sitting in their lobby right now. I came in thinking they were open. Turns out they had just closed. I mentioned a dilemma I was in; and rather than saying sorry to hear it, he is outside working on the car after hours. As it is with the majority of service centers in America, theyre dishonest in their dealings with people. I go in for brake service and I only want to replace the pads. The guy immediately says $500! $500 for brake pads?!?! Really?!?! If you didnt want my business, Id rather you just refuse me service!

I have been to 78 auto several times and repairs were always performed competently and in a timely manner.In my most recent visit, they surprised me with how ethical they are-- there was confusion between the receptionist and the repair technitian and a service I asked them to hold off on was performed without my authorization. Rather than undo the work or ask me if I wanted to pay for it, they told me I would not be billed for it and said that I could pay later if I wanted to, but that I could receive it for free due to their error. Funny thing is, that makes me want to return to pay for it.I find that reviews about everything going fine are not always helpful, because, while we want things to go well, its the times they dont where you get to see the true colors of the buisness. These are great people and I recommend them -- now more emphatically than before!

Took my car in for a antifreeze leak. They told me it was the radiator and it needed to be replaced .After I got the car back, I noticed it still leaked antifreeze the same day. I called them and some smart mouth told me its going to leak because you got antifreeze in the frame and cracks of the car from replacing the radiator, go drive it and it will come out. 3 days later it was still leaking, so I took it to a private shop in Nevada and the guy told me it was the water pump and it had been leaking for awhile due to the dry burned antifreeze on the engine. He replaced the water pump and timing belt while he was there and no leaks after that, according to Hwy.78 Auto my water pump magically started leaking after I pulled out there driveway.

Price quoted was half of what the quote was from other sources. Work ws done quickly.we are quite pleased.
