Unfortunately, Ive not had a good experience with Mini Cooper. I purchased a Mini in May 2021 with 3000 miles. I traded in a car and put $2000 down. I was to be reimbursed the $2000 once they received the title. They have not followed up with me and likely not the NY DMV to obtain the title. They know the title was issued, but they have not received it. Im forced to follow-up on the status with the dealership. Now Nov 2nd, the car is being serviced to replace brake pads and rotors (the rotors are eroded) and I have to pay $770 for repair. How is it possible the brake pads and rotors need replacing on a car with 6000 miles. And Im responsible to pay for this. I feel Mini now owes me $2000, additionally the $770 for the brakes/rotors. Just a horrible experience.

I called to schedule a test drive for one of the Mini SE electric cars. I spoke with a nice lady on the phone who was very helpful and answered all of my questions.When I got to the dealership, I worked with Rodrigo who brought out the car (me and my partner both wanted to drive it). After we got in he said we had to return the car in 10 minutes. 10 minutes?? There was nobody else in the dealership. When we got back from the (short) test drive, he didn’t seem to have much interest in selling the car to me, even though I was seriously considering buying it and asked for cash and financing info. A waste of time and will never go back. Went to South Shore Mini and had a much better experience.
Can your car dealer make you feel special? This one does - the Service Department is friendly and professional, and despite being incredibly busy, treats me like I’m their most important priority. Joel is great and if I knew the names of the other staff (guy who did intake of my MINI, chipper guy with glasses who cashed me out) I’d call them out for being great as well.
Sarah Hunter bent over backwards for me as did everyone else. It was a very easy and smooth process!!I just love my Mini! So me!Thank you all!
They provide quality dependable car service. They have a decent waiting room with Internet so you can stay productive. They also have transport services that will take you back to wherever you need to go if necessary while waiting.

Joel was most accommodating when I showed up, without an appointment, for an oil change. I was taken promptly. The car was returned to me within a very reasonable period of time. It had been washed and vacuumed which I really appreciated. Joel explained to me what had been checked and flagged on my car (which fortunately was nothing!) I have complete faith in the service department at Herb Chambers Mini. These guys are honest and straight, and never “over-sell” me. And, best of all, they keep my Mini in perfect shape!

I have been bringing my Mini Cooper Convertible here for service since I moved here in August 2019. The staff have always been super friendly, quick to get me in for service, thorough in their inspection, and efficient at fixing any issues with my car. They even looked up my registration online for me when I realized my inspection was due but couldn’t find my paper copy. It seems to be on the pricey side (though I don’t have much to compare it to since my car is a 2015 and only recently started needing service), but it has always seemed worth it because I trust that they will do a good job and I feel safe driving my car on long road trips after they have worked on it.Most recently, I had an issue with my car alarm going off unexpectedly. You can imagine how stressful it was when I was on the phone with the service representative, car alarm blaring uncontrollably in the background. I had, in the past 6 months, spent a significant amount of money in repairs on 2 separate visits (car hit the 5 year mark) and was frustrated that there was another issue. Admittedly, I was not my usual friendly self on the phone. Still, the representative was calm and professional. They got my car in that day, *everyone* was friendly and helpful (despite the fact that I lost it a little bit on the phone), did a thorough inspection (there was nothing wrong, but they did explain what they thought happened...made sense), and returned my car cleaned inside and out at no charge with a coupon for my next service hanging on the rear view mirror. They definitely have a customer for the life of this vehicle and I will be buying the next one from them. Great job guys!

I made an appointment to purchase a beautiful used SUV. It was for my wife and I was so excited to finally be able to buy her a nice car. We got up on the right side of the bed, excited we showed up early on a Sunday anxious. We meet a very polished and professional salesman that morning. He let us know that the SUV we were there for was sold about two weeks ago. So when we made the appointment the car was sold, when I called the day before to make sure we still had an appointment, it was sold. When we rushed out the house to get there early, it was for nothing. Im sorry, but the drive home was silent. My Sunday, fathers day, has really been dampened. Its just a really bad experience. I doubt they treat the upscale customers this way. At least let us know so we dont have to get our hopes so high, waste time, and get emotionally crushed. This was a bad day. Janely was the rep that scheduled us, never called to say it was sold, never even called to apologize. Probably could care less, were just used car buyers I guess.

I was in the market for new tires and needed a complete check up on my car. After going to my appointment at a Sullivan Tires location (I called a week in advance to let them know what I was looking for and they had assured me that the tires would be in stock) and after waiting several hours for the mechanics to look at my car so I could get my new tires, the attendant said they didn’t have the tires I needed and I would have to wait days to get them. Upset about this waste of time, I called Herb Chambers mini and made an appointment. They were nice, attentive and gave me a lot of information in advance, and on the date of my appointment they took my car at the agreed-upon time. Matt from Mini was particularly helpful, clear and upfront about all costs and even helped me think of ways I could reduce my bill. I appreciated that they didn’t appear to try to be pushing more services or higher cost tires just to make more money. Everything that needed to get done was done the same day and I could tell that my car appreciated the maintenance service.

I am currently on my second Mini lease with Herb Chambers Mini of Boston and not only do I LOVE my new countryman but I was lucky enough to BOTH times have been assisted by Sarah Hunter in the car selection and lease process. The first Mini I leased was my first time leasing a car ever and Sarah was helpful and knowledgeable in guiding me through the process. I felt comfortable and not pressured. She helped me find exactly what I wanted and was patient with my questions and concerns. When I returned my first Mini she assisted my again with the new lease and although it had been three years she remembered me personally and was again incredibly helpful with the return and new lease process. I felt taken care of fully and advocated for. The experience felt personal instead of just business and I really appreciate that extra touch of hospitality.

Purchased a CPO mini recently, totally trusted the sales person, when I took the delivery of vehicle and drove back home and was checking the vehicle during the day, I noticed significant scratches on the front bumpers. When checked back, the sales manager dismissed it was a cosmetic and the price was taken into consideration. They mentioned they can fix it but I need to pay for parts. Future buyers beware and make sure you thoroughly check the vehicle before taking delivery.

I got my 3d mini (yes, I know Im addicted). The process was super fast and efficient. I timed it. It took less than 2 hours from the walk in to leaving the dealership in a new car. I visited the service department at Herb Chambers MINI for the first time today. Mark Ravin was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make my service call quick and pleasant. It is rare that you feel like someone in car service really cares about you and your car, but that was the exact feeling I had today during my appointment. I would highly recommend HC Mini for any service needs. Ask for Mark!
Went here for years because of convenience, but had a bad experience pretty much every time, and finally gave up. Some examples of my visits there:1) Sunroof would not open when it was hot (i.e., when you want the sunroof open). Told them about it - they said it was a known issue (they were even handing out flyers to owners who complained about this that said that Mini was working on a fix). Went back some time later and brought it up again. The response: what sunroof issue? Thats the first weve ever heard of it! After several visits and threats of a law suit under the lemon law, they finally conceded and fixed it.2) Went in to pick up my car that I had paid for online before going there. They said they had no record of the payment, and would not give me my car (I did not have my phone to prove payment - shouldnt they be able to look that up?). I was walking out to leave, without my car, then decided to raise a ruckus in the showroom. A manager came by, was able to look up that I had actually paid, and finally got my car.3) Just brought in a wheel for repair. Before bringing it in they said on the phone it would be $135. When I got there, the guy said it would be $150. Wasnt in the mood to argue, so just said fine and dropped it off (would have just paid the $150). When it was complete, the exact same guy that said it would be $150 said it was now $185. I had to raise hell again, and they ended up giving it to me for $135, but acted like I was the one being unreasonable.You shouldnt have to get in an argument, or threaten legal action, to make a dealership act ethically.There are more stories, but you get the idea. This place is a nightmare.Just bought a JCW plus $5k in parts from Mini of Peabody. Told the salesman there about Herb Chambers and he said they get a lot of dissatisfied customers from them. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere, anywhere, else first

My salesman, Sam, worked hard to find the right pre-owned car for me- I had a long wish-list and he managed to find me a great low mileage car with all the bells and whistles that I wanted- everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful- it could not have been a less stressful experience- and I love my new (to me) Mini Countryman! The MINI Cooper is excellent and fits my 2 primary criteria for a car, small and quirky.The first salesperson was Norm. The sales process was friendly, easy going, and no pressure. My only issues - I was told I would be able to choose from a list of available cars meeting my criteria. I was only shown 1. Also, at the time of my visit I was not aware that there are 2 models of the Cooper; Base and S. I was only shown (then sold) the Base model. I wish I had know what I was not getting. Buyers regret there.The second salesperson was Samuel Hesketh-Tutton. Friendly and accommodating. I had to pick up the car earlier than planned and it was no bother. My only complaint is the racing stripes had not been put on the car as planned (with Norm). Although it was taken care of on the spot... I had to wait while they were quickly put on, Unfortunately, they are not symmetrical on the bonnet and the edges are already raising up. As this is a lease, the issue is theirs to fix. I cannot take responsibility for their workmanship.Under Coating Moment:As with all Car Dealers, there is a moment when you are taken to a room where a SUIT talks to you about the purchase and determines the final costs and payments, etc. Part of this was a full-press, hard sell of a very under described Maintenance Plan. It gets rated as an Under Coating Moment because the cost was presented as what the plan will cost per WEEK. Very sketchy sales gimmick. I asked for the total over 3 years - heard the amount and turned it it down. Then had to wait through continuous brow beating as the gentlemen proceeded to nickel and dime the price down. It was a real put off and has left a bad taste in my mouth for the Dealership.The low points are highlighted here, but the overall experience was very good and the car is great. I have not yet had to get maintenance or Dealer service, so no ratings there.

Took 4 days to change a flat tire!i did call they each day they said different :The first time I called to ask when I could pick up the car, they replied that they were repairing it and would send me a message when it was fixed. The second time they told me that they would call me when it was fixed because the maintenance man was not there. The third time they told me that it would cost $360 to change the tire. also told me they need my approval. They can repair it. And the repairman is still not there. I just want to say that my car has a flat tire. only a flat tire!!!they should told me earlier since I decided to give it to them for repair. And tell me now, I can only say OK. Then just change a tire and tell me I cant pick it up until tomorrow afternoon. I will never come here for repairs and maintenance again.

We were in the market for a new Mini Countryman lease as we were looking to upgrade to an ALL4 before the winter, but we still had eight months left on our current lease. We are based in NYC and had little luck with the closer dealerships in terms of them willing to let us finish our lease early, even though it meant wed sign a new lease for a more expensive car. On a trip to Boston, I stopped by the Herb Chambers Mini and met Brian Epstein to see if the dealership would be willing to help us. Needless to say, Brian was fantastic. With the lease of a car being a major financial commitment, I know I ask a lot of questions (truly, a lot). Brian was incredibly responsive. I know I was not his only customer over the few days of back and forth during our decision-making process, but he treated me as if I were. Ultimately, through his work with his dealership, he was able to get us an appropriate set of terms to finish our old lease and start a new one. He was incredibly thorough when talking through the options with me; likewise, there was never a feeling of pressure on his/Minis part when discussing the lease, which I appreciate.My one concern was the amount of time it took to process the lease through the financial services department. It was New Years Eve, which is one of a dealerships busiest days, so I understand the delay. In the future, I would hope for additional staffing on that day given how busy it was, but I also understand why that is not an easy day to have more people working.As strange as it might sound, Id be willing to return to Herb Chambers Mini of Boston for our next lease even though we continue to live in New York, particularly if Brian continues to be our Motoring Advisor.

I have been dealing with David for over 5 years and he has consistently met and supposed my expectations.The car-buying process can be daunting, even in this all-information-era. I had a great experience here getting my own first ever MINI car. As a student whos not familiar with cars and doesnt have too much budget, I spent a long time hesitating to get this car or not. Brian is super friendly and accommodating, he was very patient with me and answered a huge amount of my random questions. Thanks to him, I got this adorable car and my entire purchasing process went so well. My MINI is very very cute and I am really enjoying it so far! Brian is an amazing person to work with and he deserves a 5 star rating.However, the reason why I took a star off is because of the guy in BMW who was assigned for my paperwork. I was trying to ask questions about the car warranty and that guy just kept talking about getting a tire/glass protection program even after I said I dont need it. He didnt pay too much attention to my questions and was kinda rushing us to leave after I refused to get an upgrade protection package. My friend was with me that day and we both felt he was being a little too aggressive. When we were leaving, the last sentence he said was You can still buy it(the package) before you pick up the car, let me know if you change your mind. How? He didnt even provide me his name card or any contact information. Everyone said congratulations to me that day and I was so excited to finally made the decision, then my mood gets ruined by this paperwork process:(Fortunately Brian is such a nice person, he took care of my payment process later and I dont have to work with the BMW guy again. Despite that, I had a great experience here overall:)

We recently leased a MINI, and we had a very pleasant experience. As a motoring advisor Sarah Hunter was very warm, professional and took us through the entire step. In fact she had started helping us make a choice even before we had walked in the door. We emailed her what we were looking for in our MINI and she had our options tailored to that. The car that we test drove was also similar to the one that we finally leased. Sarah set meetings at times that were convenient for us, once after 6pm on a weekday so that me and my wife didnt have to take an early day off work. I would also give bonus points here for taking their time out and explaining the nuances of lease financing. That effort definitely made us feel that we were making an informed choice. I would highly recommend HERB Chambers MINI of Boston and Sarah Hunter as a motoring advisor.Update:Been my goto service provider. Recently took my car in for repairs under warranty and other maintenance. Joel was awesome in diagnosing the problem, ordering the parts, promptness of service, and arranging for loaner. Definite five stars in my book.
So happy with my experience at Herb Chambers MINI of Boston! I found my mini from a google search - certified pre-owned - and came in to test-drive it. I worked with Sam Hesketh-Tutton, who made the process super easy and fun! We test-drove my mini and I fell in love with it! He walked me through the process and within an hour, I was officially the new owner of a 2015 Mini Cooper! I noticed some dings in the side panel and bumper from the previous owner, so he agreed to have the bumper replaced and the scratches buffed out before I picked it up later that week! Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely ask for Sam if youre looking for a great experience buying a car - he really took great care to educate me about the ins-and-outs of my mini and was super patient answering all of my follow up questions. Had a great experience at this place, although I didn’t end up buying a car. Worked long distance (entirely through emails and a couple of phone calls) with Liz Flanders to try and find just the right car. Liz went above and beyond to offer me options, to locate cars that were at other dealerships, and to create a good deal for me. In the end, I ended up not moving forward (because there weren’t really any manual transmissions around in acceptable colors), but I would absolutely, and without hesitation work with Liz and this dealership again! She was awesome!

I keep my cars for a long time, but also know when its time to get a new one and usually, Im 95% sure which make/model I want. Id browsed the Mini showroom on my own (was asked if I would like help, but Im a initial Im just looking type.) When I went in the next time I was sure I wanted to buy, but had no previous experience with Mini (Id been a VW owner for 20+ years). Brian could not have been more helpful, explained the options, took me on a test drive, and in general was not about pressure but about making sure I got what I wanted in my new car. He found one for me with the features I wanted and never came on heavy re options I wasnt really interested in. I arrived, test drove a few cars, and made the deal with Brian in one short afternoon. A week later, I picked it up and Brian made sure I knew how to operate it all. I drove off with smile on my face that returns every time I get behind the wheel of my new Mini. Brians followed up a few times just to see that everythings going well. (I needed a notarized letter stating that my trade in still had my resident parking sticker attached in order to get a new sticker for the Mini. Brian took care of getting that letter, so now Im all set with my new parking sticker ... above and beyond the call of duty!)
I have gotten 2 MINIS from MINI of Boston and both times I had excellent service. I had some trouble with some paperwork and they worked diligently to get it all processed and get me the cars very quickly. Whenever I get service done there, I have paid little to nothing because of all the benefits they provide when purchasing from them. The complimentary car wash after any service is a huge plus and their service department in general is extremely professional and helpful. Brian Epstein helped me with my most recent transaction for a 2019 MINI Countryman S and was extremely professional and accommodating.
David made a positive difference in my car vehicle search experience. He had been patient and had helped me find the vehicle I was happy with. He had understood my needs, my concerns and was very transparent in his conversation.If not for David, my search for a car could have taken longer and I might have had greater hesitation in pulling the trigger on the purchase. This isnt because he was trying a hard sell on the vehicle, rather it was because he helped me find the vehicle I was most happy with and had all my concerns answered.Overall, I had an excellent customer experience and am very happy with my car purchase. I am certain that I would go back to him if I were to buy another BMW/MINI.
I just bought a certified pre-owned Mini with Sarah Hunter. She was fantastic from start to finish and knows her stuff. She even hid a little MIni toy surprise for my 8 yr old daughter in the glove box when she turned over the keys to me. It was great to have a stress-free car buying experience.
