October 8th, 2020I took my car for state inspection and Firestone failed me with ridiculous reasoning. They explained that the rotors needed to be replaced because they werent fully touching my breaks when pressed on. With a claim that they could fix it for $468 -- including a new set of windshield wipers.This sounded insane to me. If my rotors werent able to touch my breaks then my brakes wouldnt be working, (unless of course, there was something in the way). So I asked my my boyfriend, a previous mechanic, along with a friend from my hometown, a current mechanic, AND some other men from home their thoughts on the situation.Ive just transferred here for school and I had a gut feeling Firestone would try to take advantage of me because I was a female college student.Sure enough, each individual from home said that the situation didnt make sense at all.So I took it down the street to Midas the following day and within an hour they called me saying the only problem they found was the need for new windshield wipers. They passed me right away!Friendly customer service, but I assume it was because of their wrong intentions.Nice try Firestone, but ya cant pull one like that over on a small-town girl like me.
We were on vacation, far from home, 2 tires needed attention. They were able to get us in and on our way the next day. I only buy my tires from them. Good prices, excellent service.
I wouldn’t bring my car back here if it was the only place in Harrisonburg.Made an appointment for an oil change and a car inspection, which was confirmed online but when I brought my car by there they told me they didn’t take appointments for inspections and that the computer doesn’t recognize that. Was told that the person who does car inspections would be in on Sunday so to bring my car on Saturday to make sure I got seen. Took off work early on Friday to drop my car off to only be told that the person doing inspections wouldn’t be in until Monday because they couldn’t confirm he was coming in Sunday.

Im not very satisfied with the amount of time a person has to wait even when they already have an appointment and by the feedback Ive heard from other people getting ripped off and some way shape or form or being charged for things they didnt even request to be fixed just like many other car dealerships or car service places do. I just would not have expected it from a well-known name such as Firestone which are reputable for tires but not always reputable for their car engine service
My daughter and I were on a road trip (from Connecticut), driving on the Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park, when we got a flat tire. We called AAA (2:30 pm on a Tuesday) for a tow, and while on the phone with them, we also called Firestone in Harrisonburg. I spoke with Dakota and explained our situation. He said that they had a full schedule, but that he would try to have it looked at before the end of the day. We arrived just before 5p. The technician, John, examined our tire, said the tire was fine, but that the rim was bent. He was able to bend the rim back, fill and reseal our undamaged tire, and we were back on the road by 5:30, all with a very small bill. We were absolutely thrilled! We were so touched by their kindness, and their willingness to fit us in and keep us on our tight schedule. I must also say everyone was so very polite! We highly recommend the Harrisonburg Firestone and want to express our sincerest gratitude!
Went to Firestone today for 4 new tires and was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I was able to get them (especially on a Saturday!) All the staff was very friendly and helpful! Shout out to Nick for helping us get the best deal possible and make a decision on what type of tries to get!
They get 2 stars for just being to fix something. Customer service isnt the best, I was told to call my extended warranty company because they dont do that. Was also told I will not except the warranty coverage unless they pay by credit card. I was also told Id get my vehicle same day, got it back 2 days later. They dont give you a courtesy to tell you that we are sorry, its going to take more than the original 3 hours to just look at your vehicle. Ill never go back!
I was told I needed 4 New Tires! By Manager-Eric Broadbent. He checked On His Computer, and said I Have All 4 Tires in Stock! After Spending $808.38 Dollars, We were told He would install them. He Dropped Us off at J.C. Pennys To Shop. While we were shopping He calls and says I only Have 2 Tires. It Has taken Me 2 Days to get My 2 other Tires. I was Lied To By Eric About Inventory. I wanted my 4 tires put on new wheels and then the new wheels put on my car and they told me it’s against “policy” to touch a tire that didn’t come from them I just wanted my tires mounted and balanced do not recommend some policy

Had a screw in my tire and Honda forgot to give me my key back for the locked lug nuts. Firestone, although i didnt have an appointment and they were two guys short, was able to get me in and fixed up. Extremely greatful.
Worst place to go. Went back three times to fix a belt sound and they just kept the car for whole day and did not work on it. Do not recommend if you need your car fixed
Went to Firestone for a complete set of tires around 2:45 talked to an employee and asked if they would have time to put them on today ( as we have 2 small children with us and would come back another day if there wasn’t time) he said it would be 30 minutes til he could get it into the bay and he assured us they had the time and we would be out the door by 5:00.. went shopping to pass by time came back in the shop at 4:45 to see the hood up and not a single new tire on the vehicle yet... went inside and asked how much longer it would be and why the hood was up on the vehicle when all we wanted was a set of tires was told another 45 minutes and that they were checking the battery and oil pressure.. those were never asked to be done or even needed maybe if the mechanics weren’t busy doing that they would have had at least 1 tire on within that time. And next time use your professionalism to inform someone if you get “backed up” you have their cellphone number for a reason ( to contact the customer ). Personally will never waste my time with Firestone again!
Went here for a routine oil change. A week later I had oil leaking all over the driveway. Took the car to a different shop. Turns out, whoever did the oil change at Firestone didnt tighten the drainage cap and it was just barely holding on. Apparently Im lucky it didnt fall off during transit and blow the motor. So I wont be going back to Firestone.
Very friendly staff and very helpful. They told me how long my wait would be and how many vehicles were ahead of me for a state inspection. I’ve come here before in the past for tires and they were very knowledgeable and helpful than. I’ll definitely be back to do more business with them!
Firestone encouraged maintenance work that they said I needed which I did not like. In some cases they were wrong and in others I just choose to not have that work done on this older truck. Other than that I think they did a good job.

Called in on a Friday and asked if they did inspections on the weekend the guy told me yes got there Saturday morning as soon as they open at 7am the guy I think his name is (Jason) told me they don’t do inspections on the weekend. I told him I literally called the day before to make sure. He had an attitude about it. Wasted my time driving all the way out there for nothing. They need to get make sure all their employees know the policy so people like me don’t waste their time.
Took them four visits and yelling for them to fix a problem they (by their own admission) knew about after the first. They also told me a part had to be replaced in order to stop a leak, but its still leaking. Also tried charging me for something I had lifetime coverage on. Luckily I remembered I had it. Absolutely awful.
Nick was very helpful and even offered some further knowledge on parts should I need things from you in the future I will be coming here!

This place saved my behind when my TPMS sign kept going off, which led me to find a nail in my tire over 150 miles away from home. As they were the only place open around in the area, I called them out of disparity and they took care of me about 20 minutes before they closed, which had they not done, I would have been stuck having to spend another night at a hotel. They were nice the entire time, patched my tire for a very reasonable price, and let me get home safely.

Took my car there for 2 front tires. The guy asked me if I was going to wait for it and I said yes. An hour went by, no one said a thing to me but they called my husband twice, which he was at work and could not answer at the time, to ask questions. They put off working on my car until they heard back from him. I WAS in the Waiting room the WHOLE time!!! Nobody came out to ask me anything!!! I finally got ahold of my husband and he had to call them and tell them I was in there and was very upset, and it shouldn’t take 2 hours to put 2 tires on!! When they were finally finished they called him to pick it up!!!! I was there In the waiting room the WHOLE time!!! I know they all saw me because there is a window and I kept looking in there and Could see everyone! No apology, nothing.

Well I bought new tires 6 months ago for my 16 Escape . Went in last week 4 oil change since they had a special and rotation.Went out yesterday evening and I heard a noise. Got out what did I find? The cover that bolts over my oil pan,filter etc had fallen off. Not only did they NOT put screws back they guys zip tied it!!! Cant wait 2 call them.
These guys are awesome! Had my pads changed at pepboys and it was making a loud noise so I took it here. They noticed that pepboys put the wrong size pads on and it damaged my rotors!!!! The guys here took good care of my car. Thank u
I was traveling on interstate 81 today and had a flat tire . I had just purchased 4 new Firestone tires 2 weeks ago. I had picked up nails in my tire a road hazard. The Firestone in Harrisonburg took care of getting me safely to the shop and repaired my tires.Added road hazard plan to my tires & repaired the tire free. Excellent service .
They did a great job helping me when I needed my tire fixed, and they charged a fair price. Highly recommended.
I love Firestone but I’ve been unhappy each time I come to this location. I brought my car in for an oil change at 9am and asked for it to be done today because I needed it tomorrow. They assured me it would get done. By 3pm I called to check on the progress, the again told me it would get done. At 5pm I called again worried that it wouldn’t get done by the end of the day, they explained it would be done before closing. I arrived at 6:50 to pick it up assuming it had been done and when I asked about it they told me it would be up next after the few vehicles they were currently working on. Being that they closed in 10 mins, he said they would try to do it. He explained that they had gotten busy and pushed mine back. If I would’ve known it wasn’t going to get done I would’ve taken it elsewhere. I asked for my keys and left. I am very disappointed. I understand things do happen but I feel that I was unimportant compared to other customers.

And they were very kind to my senior citizen parents when I sent them to Firestone with a tire problem!! VERY helpful! GREAT Service!
I found a large nail in my tire during a long road trip, fortunately next to this shop. These guys fit ms into a very busy garage and got us turned around very quickly. Excellent service! Really appreciated the consideration for getting us back on the road so quickly.

Horrible service, make an appointment to check my breaks in my Genesis they took 4 hours to tell me that I needed one caliper and pads for 1 tire and the price was 650 dollars, rip off, I went to another shop I got it done right for the right price, DONT LET THEM ROB YOU!!!, worse place in town for auto care !!!!
Good service and nice people, but the guy who called me that my alignment was done said a lot of the customers cars are getting broken in to in their parking lot.I just started taking my vehicle there last year after my last mechanic at another place retired, but I guess I am going to have to find somewhere else now since I dont want to potentially deal with a broken window or other damage.At least the guy was nice enough to warn me, but I cannot recommend a place where your car might be broken in to if you drop it off.
First google review ever, this time i had to. I have been to countless mechanics with over ten vehicles over the years and these guys take the cake for incompetence. worst customer service i have ever experienced. set appointment at 8AM for a simple tire alignment and at 1 Pm they had still failed to complete a 10 minute job. please do not go to Firestone in Harrisonburg nobody will screw you as bad as this.

Got me in and out quick when I had tire issues on s vacation.
Ive been to this firestone multiple times, and while they were always a bit rude I assumed it was due to how busy they get. Today I made an appointment and was told it would be under two hours for my car to be ready, the time was confirmed when I dropped off my car. Two hours and one minute after I dropped my car off I received a phone call in which I was told my car was almost done. I waited two more hours before going in to pick up my car because I was running errands; upon arrival and asking for my car they appeared to have lost my paperwork. I watched the front desk attendant search and yell at mechanics for seven minutes before he returned and said it would be another ten minutes because they hadnt even started my alignment. I am usually a rather patient person but after being told my car would be ready in two hours multiple times and returning four hours later to pick it up with it still not being complete I was over it. They tried to blame me and how busy they were repeatedly and never once apologized or acknowledged having lost my cars paper work. Beyond that, they cant seem to figure out my account and make me redo and lookup my account number and payment method every time I come even though they state every time they will save my info in my file. The desk staff has been rude to me every time Ive been here and I will drive two hours to my usual firestone before returning here for business.
I never write reviews. But I cant shake how I was treated today. Ive been a loyal Firestone customer for over 13 years. I was a military wife in the past, and have thus been to many Firestone locations. The Harrisonburg Virginia was the first location I ever visited those 13 years ago as a new customer. I have always left feeling exceptionally satisfied. The customer service there has always been top notch. Ive recently moved back to the area, and I made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation/alignment, and state inspection 2 weeks ago online. I got an email confirmation the next day but I decided to call to double check they understood what all I needed done. The guy on the phone 2 weeks ago was very polite and assured me everything was confirmed. This morning (the day of my appt), I received a voicemail that they unfortunately might not be able to perform my state inspection because state inspections are first come first serve basis and unless you just wanna drop your vehicle off, it might not get done. 😑 I didnt have anyone to drop me off on such short notice. I called for clarification because I have never heard of that before. Like I was confused as to how they couldnt perform an inspection which I confirmed on the phone 2 weeks ago? Eric was the man I spoke with, and he had absolutely zero customer service. The beginning to end of the call he made me feel like I was an inconvenience. I canceled my appt and unfortunately might not ever return. Phone calls are your first line with a customer. I didnt want to follow through my appointment with an already horrid experience. I give 2 stars only because the other times Ive been there have been great.
Ive never had any issues here. They are quick and efficient when it comes to service. The staff has been easy going and I will continue to come here for any of my car needs.

Very clean and professional. However, I waited 6 hours because the store’s connection with the credit company was down. Finally I asked whether I could put in an application myself from my phone. I was told I could. I did so and was approved immediately. As a result, when I left at 3:30 the car had not been begun. The car was finished in a hour and a half but I was charged for more time in labor and told it would be a three-hour job.On the other hand they offered me a ride to my motel.They would not waive the analysis fee as I’ve seen done other places.There was free k-cup coffee.

I have been coming to this Firestone location for years now. I have always received exemplary service. This most recent trip, I brought my vehicle in for what I thought could have been a mechanical issue. They investigated it and found it to be a problem with the AC system but very minor and did not effect vehicle function at all. They advised me not to have the expensive work done on the part, rather than pushing me into an expensive, unnecessary repair job. Wonderful front and back of house service!
Best and fast service on sunday we only had 15 minutes to get there they changed a flat tire and replaced it with a new one in less then 10 minutes.

I called at 3pm on a Saturday and they said they could take me right away when everyone else in town was closed or not answering the phone. The waiting room was very clean, there was something actually interesting on t.v. and they had a Keurig. The diagnostic took a little long but when they did come with a quote they got my new battery installed and an oil change super fast. I appreciate the kind and positive attitude from the gentleman who answered the phone and gave me my quote. Ill definitely be going back and recommending to others.
Everyone is super friendly. There is a little bit of a wait sometimes if you need tires or what not. I dont think they are out to save you a buck. So make sure you are doing your due diligence when picking out what set of tires you would want Etc. I think they just quoted me the tires that I had on previously and so then when I asked was there something a little bit cheaper because I was trying to save some money there was that option, so just keep that in mind. It wasnt a small difference either it was about 50% reduction. But like I said to be fair I think they probably were just quoting me what I had on the car previously, but it would have been nice to have been offered options. But I think the people that are waiting on you or actually the mechanics and not so much customer service people they would do well to hire a person just for that job.

Everyone from the manager at the desk to the mechanic that serviced my Jeep 2008 Liberty was very honest in diagnosing The problem and told me my transmission was stuck in 2 gear. Referred me to AAMCO Transmission. Firestone has been around for many Years. Has a Wonderful Reputation of Selling Good Tires and Treating Customers Fairly.
I came in to have my car inspected pretty early in the morning, hoping to be seen quickly. Two hours later, they have my car up on the lift, and call me over to say that to pass inspection its going to need new brake hoses, which they can do for about $400. I tell them no thank you, pay them the $16 for the inspection, then go directly to another mechanic. The second mechanic passes my car, and says that my brake hoses are fine, and he doesnt understand why Firestone said they werent.
Had the BEST experience with this place. Couldnt believe how great the service was. The guy (Tommy) who helped me was so honest about what needed to be fixed and what didnt. He wasnt trying to take my money or repair things that didnt really need it. Just such a great experience overall. Tommy was such a great help and knew exactly what he was doing. He seemed very knowledgable and was an excellent source of info - he was so patient with all of my questions. I really appreciated the fact that these guys could tell me what may need to be fixed in the near future, but didnt try to fail my inspection just to get money from me now. Ive had that happen in the past and its so frustrating. I trust that this place is worried more about you having a safe, working vehicle as opposed to making a couple extra dollars for their own benefit. Still a business, but an honest one for sure.I was so impressed with Firestone - would recommend it to anyone! Shocked by some of the bad reviews (although waiting for your oil to be changed isnt necessarily a good reason to give 1 star...patience is a virtue...)Thanks again!!!

Took my 2017 Camero to get inspected brand new no issues expected a bit of a wait as it was the 1st of the month. I arrived at ~10:30 am I was given a 4-5hrs eta. I was first to arrive and waited all day until 3pm until they told me they had not checked in my vehicle infact. Got my car back with an alignment and tire balance that felt spotty. Took it back and they fixed it and turned out a high quality alignment and tire balance with no questions asked. Everybody makes mistakes, its how they are handled that makes a shop high tier.These guys are good, dont let a couple people who are mad about their ancient cars failing inspection downgrade their credibility.
My daughter who is a senior at JMU took her car in to be inspected. The car was rejected and Jordan, her service advisor gave her an estimate for work that the car would have to have before it would pass inspection. The estimate was for $741.06. They suggested that the car was unsafe to drive and that the work was required by them before it could pass inspection. She brought the car home and I had a trusted mechanic go over the car. He replaced the front brakes and rotors and inspected it for $185.00. Their estimate for that was 296.00. They also required bushings for $320.00 before it would pass inspection and suggested alignment for another $84.99. I would not go back to them if it was free. They prey on college kids, especially females. It has become a great lesson for my daughter. I hope that others are forewarned by our experience ! I tried to post this with a no stars rating but was unable to post until I gave them a one star rating.

Friendly but website isnt clear when making inspections. Drove all the way there after making arrangements for my step dad to keep my daughter at his job because I assumed I had scheduled an appointment to get my car inspected. Got there and was told I scheduled a complete inspection and not a state. I did not know there was a difference because the website is unclear. My step dad had to take a point at work so I could bring my daughter to him and I had to bring my infant son out in the cold just to be told it would be several hours even though I had an allotted time.. unsure why they couldn’t have just used my allotted spot to inspect my car because clearly I didn’t know there was a difference in complete inspection and state inspection.
I understand how people may be led astray by a repair shop. However, in my experience, this repair shop has been good to me. I usually call and ask for Wayne, who runs the place. They match competitor coupons and have never tried to upsell me on unneeded services. You can get a great deal if you bring in a competitors coupons !
I went to Firestone to get a second opinion about what my car needed to pass inspection after being quoted $800 in repairs at NTB. At Firestone, the manager, Jason Correa was very honest, helpful, professional and friendly. I was able to get my car inspected with minimal repair. I am very happy with my experience and will recommend Firestone to family and friends.
I brought my car in to get inspected yesterday. My car is in perfect condition, and has only 18,000 miles on it. I was told by Firestone that my car failed inspection because I needed shocks. The cost would be $545.62. I told Firestone to forget about it and I brought my car to a different mechanic. Needless to say my car did NOT need shocks and passed inspection with flying colors. I was also told that my Firestone complaint was not the first. Firestone just lost a customer, and hopefully more once I spread the word, because of their GREED.

I went to Firestone because Midas was unable to take me in the time frame I had. Replacing the headlight on my car cost less than $40 at Midas, but it was closer to $90 at Firestone. Besides which, counter clerk provided me a list of work that had to be done on my engine. When questioned further it turned out that these were things that might possibly be a problem in the future but not to worry about now. Before asking questions, I was under the impression that these were critical repairs. In summary then, it was twice as expensive as Midas and the focus seem to be on upselling.

I noticed my tire pressure was extremely low after about a 5 hour drive and I thought maybe there was a puncture. Took it to Firestone and found out it was just because my tire pressure was low to start with and that a dramatic weather shift causes it to deflate more. Firestone did the full analysis in under a half hour and didn’t even charge me. Very kind and professional employees, would highly recommend.

My car broke down on 81 and close to closing Kevin there got my ticket going and was able to repair on Sunday. Friendly, courteous, and professional at a time I was in a pinch in a town I had never heard of before. Cant thank them enough!
We had our brakes wear down to make this horrible noise and needed a fix fast because were from out of town. These guys got me in and out in an hour and a half at half the rate I thought itd be. Thank you so, so much.

This should really be no stars. Took my car in to get inspected and told them the wiring on my headlights needed to be replaced. They found a bunch of expensive stuff that needed to be replaced and then forgot to fix the wiring on of the headlights. After paying $600 I got in my car to find out they had left the door unlocked and one of my headlights was still out. So they passed me on the state inspection with a dead headlight. They obviously were more worried about stuff that made them money instead of what I specifically asked them to do. So after pointing this out to the idiots they told me they were gonna need another day to do a simple wiring job. Came in the next day and once again my car was unlocked and this time my car didnt even start. They had to help me jump it and now refuse to even give me a new battery. I wouldnt wish these mechanics on my worst enemy.
When I came in I asked for a tire alignment and to replace a headlight. Got my car back with 5 lights out. When I complained and asked them to fix it they said it wasn’t their responsibility and refused to give me the manager’s information. The employee I spoke to was extremely rude and told me to bring my car back on Saturday so they can look at it. I let them know I would not be charged for this and he said there were no guarantees and when he said they would look at it for free he refused to give any written confirmation. Do not use this shop. Take your car somewhere they won’t screw you over for messing up your wiring.
This establishment will add unnecessary costs to make a quick buck whenever possible. Know what your car needs prior to entering or a quick winter to summer tire change could cost hundreds of dollars. I happened to know to avoid this tactic, but they tired this on four customers while I was waiting.
Im traveling my car died the night before My vehicle was towed to them soon as they opened they were fixing it. Very professional and nice. Im very happy Im back on the road.
They didnt even screw my tire in all the way and I had to take the interstate home. Thats when I realized it wasnt even screwed in all the way. Plus they didnt even bother to pump the spare tire I brought in to get balanced and installed into my car and I ended up driving with a custom tire and rim with a 9.5 psi.
This people will do anything to sell you new parts your car doesnt need. Your customer service experience will depend on the color of your skin. For your own good, stay away from this place.
These guys are GREAT! I am really amazed at the bad reviews.My daughter had a flat..they diagnosed the problem, provided me with options, and took care of it on a timely basis. In fact, when one of the technicians saw me putting the new tire on her car, he told me he would be glad to torque it for me, which he did. He also checked the air in the other tires and took care of filling one of her other tires.Their manner is wonderful..I highly recommend this place!!!
Went in for routine annual inspection. Randy said it would be a couple hours. A couple hours later they said it would be the next morning at 10am. Came in at 11am and it was not complete. Randy immediately became defensive and said it was their techs fault for being sick that day. Later in the day I received a call about my brakes and rotors needing to be replaced along with a bulb. I took the car to another inspection station they replaced the bulb and said the breaks and rotors were fine. During this ordeal I witnessed Randys customer service superficial and seemed inconsistent in his treatment of customers with different origins then his. Regardless i call into question the integrity of this representative.Today 10/3/2018 I received a notification about the number of views of my review from two years earlier. I hope people consider the time that has passed and hopefully the improvements made at this location. In this time when people have shared their experiences of car service I have heard several positive experiences and some mediocre ones nothing rising to the level I personally experienced. So while I stand by my initials review and personally have not returned to this location I just feel it necessary to state that it was 2 years ago and hope for the best for their clients and for the organization and it’s current employees.
The attendant was rude and would not listen to what I had to say. But instead cut me off and went to get his supervisor. They seemed more interested in selling me new tires than fix the one I had.

So disappointed. My air was making a loud humming sound after taking my car to get the tires inspected. Tried calling to tell them my fan was making a weird noise since the inspection but they assured me it was nothing they did. Had my dad look at it and he found the cap from an oil can between the air filter and fan. He said there is no way it wasnt purposefully put there. Be careful with who you choose to have look at your car!!!!! Second opinions are important and sadly I chose the wrong place!
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Staff is very rude. Does not listen to your concerns or inputs. Would not respond with proper information and answers. No matter what, all their answers will be one liners with minimum words required. Seems they are always hiding things so that they can rip money out of the customers.. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

Do NOT take your car for inspection. They will fail you in order to get you to buy additional work. This place is a joke. Abysmal pricing. I was failed for defrost not working stating that heat wasnt working. When I got back in my car, the knob was still set on medium between cool and heat where I had it set. I switched it to heat and it worked fine. I was trading the car in anyway so I just left and traded it in with a rejection sticker. Wont deal with ever again.Edit: I had an issue where I hit a pothole with my new car and I took it in just to have it checked out being all the Ford dealership in the area were full. They didnt try to upsell me anything I didnt need. Checked out the car for a flat fee and said everything was fine. I asked to have the alignment checked and it was out of alignment. The fact they didnt upsell anything I didnt need restored my faith in the shop. I bumped my rating from one to four stars.So above you can see both reviews. Ill give it another shot next month when my inspection expires again
We were in and out in 30 minutes when we had a flat tire replaced. On our way to NY so happy for the quick service and they had our tire in stock.
What is wrong with all the people writing reviews on here? Ive been using them for years and never been overcharged. When getting an oil change, they never find any little things to increase the price?!Honestly, all the people complaining on here probably actually had expensive stuff to fix with their car -- it would have been the same price anywhere.
