Ive been using AAA Irmo for auto repairs and maintenance for about 5 years now. Robert and Team ALWAYS take great care of my truck. All work is warrantied and guaranteed by AAA. The member discounts are nice as well! What else can you really ask for?

Although I parted with a chunk of cash for repairs needing to be done, the team here are very friendly, honest people from the vibes I got from them. The manager helped me out, without being asked, with some of the charges for tasks needing to be done. In comparing their fees vs. others in the area, including some Ive had service my car in the past, were very competitive...even before the AAA member discount I get on the total charge for work done. Great folks! Their insurance rep in the store was also very professional, friendly, and great at explaining comparisons of potential insurance policies I am considering.

My car runs better than it did when it was first purchased. I usually take it to my local dealership for routine maintenance but am extremely happy I tried AAA Service in Irmo. The experience was wonderful! Great customer service and no trying to sell me services my car did not need. Many thanks to the staff including the service advisors, Robert and Danny.

Great customer service from the Automotive Service guys. They were very friendly and explained all repairs needed on my vehicle in detail. The Service Technicians were also very pleasant.

When I began having car troubles Monday morning (around 11), they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Once my car was towed here, they were able to fit me in and get things fixed so I could drive back home. The staff here are professional and the price is reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.

A general tuneup was performed in April and the vehicle ran better for 2 weeks. The cost then was about $800.00. I could not get the car back to them until early August due to business that took me out of state [not in the vehicle]. The car was running very rough and they replaced the EGT inAugust and cleaned the tube running from it to ???. Did not improve anything. They had the car for a week. Further diagnosis indicated carbon buildup around the # 4 exhaust valve causing low compression. They gave me some fuel additive and told me to drive the car and “blow the carbon out”. Did not work. I feel the money I spent this time, about $700 plus $106 for the EGT, was wasted money that I can not afford to loose. And yes, it was $700 thrown away to AAA of Irmo, SC.

Maintaining a classic car, it’s sometimes difficult to find places where staff is knowledgeable about specific parts/specs/etc relevant to the vehicle as they are becoming more uncommon. I have come across mechanics who won’t even try to work on my car (1979 Malibu) because they are concerned about availability of parts. Not only did the staff at this location find the tires I needed (even though they are a less common size), they also found the specs for the alignment that were not immediately available in the computer system. They went above and beyond what many places I have been to would and I sincerely appreciate their efforts. Great place.

Very prompt and professional service. I have been a loyal customer of this service center for three years.

My roommate went there to get his car battery replaced since it wouldn’t crank. They did that and some routine cleaning/an oil change, but they returned the car with a broken hood latch and the cruise control not working anymore. Now he has been in a back and forth with them to fix it for 2 days and they are trying to charge him for things they broke.

I brought in my car for a routine oil change. An hour later, I get a call that the key won’t release from the ignition. What a coincidence! These people are crooks and I firmly believe THEY caused the problem. Do not take your car here

Mixed bag experience. I was traveling so I had to go with the AAA service center because I knew of no other options. They got me in quickly and out the door ahead of local customers. But comparing the work apples to apples with other places that use factory comparable parts also, I paid nearly double what I should have. A job that should have been $250 - $300 max was $500. So be aware of that factor.

A two hour wait with an appointment is not acceptable

I was charged 495.00 for a starterThat was just the charge for the partThe total bill was 891.00! I feel like I was ripped off right here before Christmas! I had to call to check on my car several times! They charge 110.00 for a diagnostic test! If you have repair done at the facility they should forgive that charge. I will not be coming back to this facility and Im considering dropping my AAA membership and going with a competitor! This place is a total rip off! I expected better from AAA since I used to work for them years ago!

Irmo customer service is so much better. I left the Forest Drive location because the customer service was not good.

They replaced the ignition switch and the lock cylinder. They employees were pleasant and the workmanship seems fine. The only complaint is that the cost was considerably more expensive than it should have been. Im not sure whether I will go back or not.

I purchased 4 new tires from AAA Forest Drive, Columbia. Due to seasonal temperature change, the 4 tires needed the air pressure checked then recalibrated. Because I work closer to Irmo, I called AAA in Irmo and they happily checked the air pressure at no charge. I recalibrated the tires and left very pleased. I would recommend AAA Irmo or Forest Drive. My AAA membership is worth the annual fee.❤️

I have used AAA car service before and was somewhat pleased with the quality of service, but my last trip there I had the feeling they overcharged for something simple. Changing the Throttle Body to Thermostat Housing Pipe Hose which is very visible on top of the engine should not take 2 hours of labor. Many experts on video do it in less than 10 minutes. The service adviser tried to tell me that its a very hard part to reach which is not true. I was sitting at the waiting area the whole time while the service guys were just chitchatting next to the car. Also They overcharged ($74 for the part that costs $35 at ACDelco). Even the diagnosis was way overpriced since I already told them where the leak was. It would have cost me less to take it to the dealership.

They did a great job with Big Bertha aka Sienna van..but Matt was AMAZING..he listened to my daughter when big name Service Centers ignored her concern about acceleration. Even an old mecanic basically shined us to saying he hadnt done the job right rhe first place. It was pricey but for the piece of mind I have knowing that my daughter is safe with Big Bertha for a while is..absolutely priceless. Matt I hope you enjoyed your vacation with your family and well see you again soon. Until then..😷

Great service and quality work. Although quite expensive, they did a great job fixing my suspension, so my 9 year old car drives like brand new! Miguel was very helpful and courteous.

Tom, Robert, and the guys always take great care of me and my wifes vehicles. If theres any issue, they will let you know. Im always very happy the service I get here every single time.

Have always been skeptical about taking my cars to mechanics I have not known. But these guys don’t just tell you what they want to do but take pictures along with their recommendations and send directly to your email and let you decide. My son works for a dealership so after forwarding on to him he replied back that everything they said and showed was spot on.

They took good care of me in regards to the things that I asked for and needed.

These guys at the Irmo location make you feel like family. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. Even the customers were friendly with each other. It felt like I was in the beauty salon chatting with my stylist.

Everyone there, particularly Bob and Miguel was friendly, helpful, kind, courteous. They took the CDC recommendations for Covid-19 seriously for which I am very grateful.

Im a longtime member of AAA, so when they opened a service store, I decided to go there for my regular car maintenance. They have been fair and honest with me. They also provide a ride home and back if needed.

The car care center is great!! They are friendly and make sure its safe for you to be on the road.There is always a friendly greeting whenever someone walks through the door. The waiting area is cozy and welcoming. The staff will patiently explain any necessary repairs your car my need and why. The technicians are courteous, professional and they actually arent trying to rip you off.

Went in for an oil change and was given an estimate for 3300. I was not happy. Been a customer for over a decade. Took 3.5 hours for an oil change. This was not the norm before the pandemic. I hope it is not the norm now.

They were very concerned about my experience. They were quick, thorough and got me back on my way much faster than I thought was going to be needed. The mechanic made sure I understood what had happened and made sure my car was safe to continue my trip.

This Car Care Center has staff who are professional, courteous, and exemplary in service. They fulfill the customers needs in a timely manner and with excellence. Went in for an international drivers license and left with a drivers license, so no complaints about getting what I needed. They pushed their insurance pretty hard though, to the point I had to say Stop, please. Im happy with my current insurance; I am just here for the license.

Recently during a trip to the Columbia, SC area we experienced 2 flat tires and needed a tow to replace the second tire. The SDR Towing & Recovery company that was sent by AAA couldnt have been nicer. The AAA car care center in Irmo, SC was fortunately only a few miles from the hotel. They provided excellent service and got us back on the road within a few hours.

Excellent service. Every. Time.Finding a good and honest mechanic is hard. Really hard. I cant believe how lucky Ive been to find these guys. Theyll with to get you the best deal for your fix and will be up front and make sure your informed about whats going on with your car and what you may need to get worked on in the future so you can budget accordingly. The staff is also courteous and hilarious, willing to cut it up with you during the wait.

The people at the AAA car care center in Irmo, SC are the absolute best! i have been going there for years and they have never let me down. Whenever I need work done, I go straight to Mr. Robert Martin, who knows me by name, and always welcomes me with a smile. Any problems I had with my previous cars, were promptly taken care by these amazing people. Mr. Martin takes the time to explain to me whats going on and what they can do to fix it.(I know NOTHING about cars) I recently purchased a new used car. The people at AAA took the time to check out every used car I considered purchasing and really reassured me that I found a good and reliable vehicle. Thank you so much to my AAA family. (smiles)

My wife had here Toyota Highlander serviced on last week THURSDAY. We picked it up on Friday. This morning I noticed that one of her studs on her back tire was broken. So she went back and asked about it. They tried to say that there not responsible and they was in a hurry when they serviced her vehicle. The part that gets me is they couldve told her what happened after we spent over $250.00. To me they tried to cover this up. Poor customer service. I hope this review get to the right person. Maybe we need to take our business elsewhere.

$450 job ends up being 1100.After they finished fixing the motor in my window they couldnt even wipe the smudges off the glass...do I need to pay for that too??

Not only fixed the problem I paid for, but fixed my blinkers without me asking to or paying for it. Sent a nice handwritten letter to me in the mail afterwards as well which was so sweet and personal. Not only that but they also didnt comment about how messy my car was and were very polite. Now Im considering even switching my insurance to them!

They stand behind their work and you can count on the work being done right.

We went through AAA to plan our honeymoon and I cant say enough great things about our travel agent, Pamela Richards. She is amazing! She has helped us every step of the way with the major planning/booking to minor details, which has made my life so much easier as I focused on planning a wedding. Outstanding service, staff is courteous and professional. Waiting area is clean and mechanics are knowledgeable. They have a valet service and if you choose to stick around there are several places to eat within 100 yards.I have all of my cars serviced at AAA on Lake Murray Blvd. It is possible that I could find some place to do the work cheaper but when you factor in the level of professionalism, service, and quality of work AAA is a great deal.

Take your vehicle to a real mechanic. Even the dealers are less expensive. Bad customer service skills as well. Vultures.

Why did I wait so long to join AAA? First class service, knowledgeable staff, and VERY useful benefits! Insurance, car care, and peace of mind on the road, at a VERY reasonable price. Value galore.

What I really like about my experience with AAA was that I specifically went in knowing I needed tires and they didnt try to have me over pay for them. The price of my tires were extremely reasonable they gave me all the discount they possibly could and the tires with my oil change was just under the amount that I expected. They were a tiny bit slow it took them pretty much all day they didnt write down my phone number properly but other than that my experience was really good and Ill definitely go back again.

Customer service was friendly and timely, but still applied too much pressure with regards to up selling additional services that in all likelihood were unnecessary and rather costly. Overall the service was quick and professional and the facilities clean and accommodating to waiting patrons.

Took great care of our Explorer after my fiance developed problems on the way to Augusta from Greensboro.They kept us informed on the progress of repairs and were patient with us taking 2 weeks to return back to pick it up. I highly recommend Tom and his crew to take care of all of your carcare needs!

Do your research before you go here and know what you need. Rob tried to sell me something I was already ordering and told me if they didn’t install theirs on mine then my wheel would fall off. Being a mechanic for a while I knew he was wrong and a bit of research proved me right. I ended up just doing the work myself after having been call cheap and insulted by Rob. The work took about a half hour even with the damage and I’ve been driving it fine since. They quoted me 2.1 hours. Will never be going here again.

UPDATE ON FIVE STAR REVIEW:I have been going to AAA for 3 years for all of my car care needs. My husband stopped using them after a very expensive repair/replace suggestion was found to be 100% completely wrong. He continued to support me in my desire to trust Robert and the guys at AAA. After this experience, I dont know where I stand, but I am beyond LIVID!!Went in for a noise with my tires (2 of which were just replaced, rotated, and balanced a week and a half ago at the same location). After an hour with no clear answer on the tires they said that my break lights werent working. I asked what the solution was. They said that the bulbs were not burnt out, no fuse problem and they needed to look into it more. It was told to me that all of the lights on my 2016 Chevy Traverse were on ONE fuse and they wanted me to pay $100 for a wire diagnostic test to figure out the problem. Totally didnt make sense to me.The problem: Two lower break lights not working. Top break light working. Turn signals working.Solution: Check fuse box for Stop Lamps. Replace 10 amp fuse.LET THERE BE LIGHT!The take away: Apparently, break lights not working is pretty common in these cars. No worries, replace the fuse, and go on your way. Do NOT pay for a wire diagnostic test. I am still in awe that AAA told us that it was a wiring problem and specifically said it was not a fuse problem. I am livid!!🤬🤬🤬Original Review:Love our neighborhood AAA. Super friendly full service. Shuttle provided. Discounts are great. I am always happy when I leave there. AAA has become my go to for oil changes. Cant quite catch me on the tire purchases. Prices on tires are still better elsewhere, but regardless...love my AAA guys!

I have been taking my car to AAA Carolinas-Irmo for many years, however, this lastvisit my vehicle required multiple visits to finally find the problem. I paid close to $600when I picked up my car the first time. Then when the check engine light came on again I returned to AAA and with the excellent assistance from Robert we sent mycar, Tweety Bird, back to sick bay...another assessment was done and tried somethingelse..bottom line is even though I had to return multiple times, I was not charged anyadditional money which I really did appreciate and the customer care service is a 10.

The rep that I worked with there was very professional. The work was done in a timely manner and I was kept up to speed at every step.

I had been aware of this Car Care center for awhile, but had never used it as it was not convenient to my location. When the fuel pump went out in my car, I decided to give them a try. It was very convenient to just call AAA and let them schedule the tow and the appointment. They called later to confirm that it was the fuel pump and they recommended replacing the fuel pump relay also, which I thought was wise and agreed. The vehicle was ready the next day.Now, with the new fuel pump assembly installed, my fuel gauge is off by more than 1/4 tank. A full tank of gas registers as slightly less than 3/4 full, which means, when the gauge reads empty, there is still 1/4 of a tank of gas in there. This is better than the other way though, where an empty tank would read 1/4 full.I had asked that while the car was on the lift, they also do an oil and filter change. Somehow this was overlooked and not done, so I just stopped off at a local quick lube place on the way home and let them do the oil and filter change for less than $20.00, which was half of what AAA was advertising in their Car Care center.

The team was very courteous and professional. My car was handled with care. I went in with a flat tire of all things. The gentlemen made a bad situation a lot less stressful than it could have been.

Great first experience. They were very thorough and provided me with great documentation of the work performed.

Went there for new tires brakes rotors and alignment. After leaving noticed a loud noise coming from front right. I was told come back after I left there within 45 minutes. Elliott the mechanic said he told me on my paperwork it wad strut. Robert made him take it back and recheck. Elliott reported it as a strut again. 3 weeks later driving I heard a bad scraping noise and brakes were feeling like a bad grind. Wad able to get home with my flashers on within a couple miles of home. Stopping twice to check if something was caught or falling off my car. Noise was from front right. My friend had her mechanic come by. He said it was an obvious problem of the caliper bolt was not put onIt was dry with no grease which meant it was never replaced. Said the mechanic should have never missed that. He said I couldve been in a bad accident with it like that and that the caliper was so far off that he couldnt push it back on with his hand. He said do not drive it. Also they are gonna have to pay for that mistake. So I told Robert. They did tow it for no charge and tell me what my friends mechanic did. The kicker is Elliott tried to say that it wasnt torqued properly and fell off. That would be a lie seeing as where did the grease go if that was true. Noise has stopped since the repair so why isnt it the strut now?. I wont be back. Elliott and their driver brought my car back to me with a free oil change. I say dont want it. I slammed door on the mechanic. He couldve cost me my life and someone elses and ruined my only form of transportation. It was almost closing time and he just was being lazy. There is nothing someone could give me for my life or problems that come from their negligence.

I have been a member since 1994 or so. We have not really had to use them until this year. I have been nothing but pleased with the people I have come in conatct with. The tow drivers are great and the Car Care Center guys are great!! They show when they tell they will show and fix it acurately with a very fair cost. Thanks AAA!!!
