There are 3 main reasons for providing a 1 star rating.1. I had an appointment scheduled for a Friday at 11:40 a.m. I arrived at 11:45 and checked in. The receptionist told me to take a seat and theyd call me soon. 40 minutes later I was still waiting - I walked up to the desk and asked if it would be much longer and the receptionist was surprised it had been that long. She went back to ask and was told a couple more minutes. 10 minutes later I was finally seen, my exam was finished in about 8 minutes. So in total I waited about 50 minutes for an 8 minute procedure.2. While I was in the dr.s office he informed me of this amazing special where you get 60% off a pair of glasses when you buy contacts. Im so glad he took the time to advertise to me instead of personalizing the experience even though it was my first time there. I told him I was only there for contacts.(Also theres an ethics conflict when doctors advertise products to patients under the AMA Code of Medical Ethics, Opinion 8.063, which addresses the sale of non-prescription products that provide a “health” benefit, the AMA raises several concerns about products sold to patients, such as whether it creates a financial conflict of interest. )3. While ordering my contacts I asked if they could ship them to me. The guy helping me said they only waive year supplies. I asked him if they could waive the $15 fee but he dismissed me. I guess he didnt care that I had to wait 50 minutes for a simple eye exam.

I have been going here for at least four or five years. The staff is excellent to say the least. They always remember my name and are super helpful and seem to be happy working there. I used to live in Murray but I am in Draper now. Out of pure convenience I tried a new place and had a negative experience so I am definitely going to make the drive back to Visionworks Murray from now on. I highly recommend this business. They definitely go the extra mile to help you out.

My first experience with this location was about a year ago, and I was actually blown away at the incredible customer service they provided. Everything was just beginning to open back up, and when I called I could tell just over the phone how busy the place was! I told them I was hoping to get an appointment ASAP before an event I was going to. They managed to squeeze me in, follow all the safety guidelines to a T, AND they only had 2 people working. I asked why they weren’t allowed more staff members because they were clearly overwhelmed, but they just smiled and continued to work non-stop, even missing lunch breaks. I was so impressed, and I intended to leave a 5 star review right away. Sadly, I forgot. Fast forward to today, where I just went to pick up my new contacts. Though it was brief, my experience was just as positive as last years. Every worker I have ever encountered at this location has been extraordinarily kind, happy, and helpful. Very thankful for places like this.

One of the best experiences at an eye appointment Ive ever had. Burt and Dr. Bart were great in helping me get the most out of my exam! They explained my insurance in detail and made sure I understood exactly what I was paying for and how to get the best deal. Very professional and helpful. Even with the office being busy, they managed to get everyone taken care of. I will definitely be back!

Predatory sales practices- the business model here seems very much against the ethics and values of consumer choice.The first red flag was being asked to try on and pick out frames that I liked whilst waiting for my eye exam- please note basically the only thing they know at this point is that I have never worn glasses, this place just came up on my insurance as a place for a routine eye exam. So why am I picking out frames before there is any data to suggest I even need glasses? A sign of things to come unfortunately.I must have been asked 4 times so you wear glasses already?/how long have you been wearing glasses? whilst being addressed by various staff members, all while they hold the paperwork stating clearly that I dont wear glasses. This seems like poor attention to detail.The exam itself was good and Bart was straightforward with his explanations.Turns out glasses arent a necessity but could help for computer work and things would be a little clearer. No worries. Unfortunately I couldnt find a frame that I loved in store, and said Id rather go find one that I do like. I proceed to be told I can get two pairs with my insurance, and am explained the price breakdown for a pair that were okay (as if I am buying a car and choosing add ons) and then to swipe my card, like my thoughts were not really important. Maybe we can chalk this one up to a misunderstanding, and I reiterated I would rather go elsewhere to find frames I like, I was just in for a routine exam after all.I find a pair I like at a very popular online store, and they need my pupil distance, as I discover its not on my prescription I got from the store- the website says to call up the optician and ask for it. So I get passed around and put on a 10 minute hold by the store, only to be told by who presumably is the manager that we shred pupil distance information and dont keep it in our online systems and that all opticians do this. But I can go back in and have it measured again if I want.The reason they wont tell you your pupil distance is because you need it to buy glasses online. Again, I dont feel this is very ethical as I literally just had my eye exam therr and they are trying to get me to purchase from the store rather than elsewhere.Finally, I am being assured I am getting great deals through my insurance but a quick google of any frame there will show you they are heavily marked up as part of the business model.The staff act very friendly to your face, but I felt like the average customer could easily be taken advantage of here.

I arrived at my appointment very stressed out. A car had hit mine about 2 blocks from my appointment, the other driver ran. I was upset and not in the mood to deal with any appointment. The crew at this particular Visionworks was so amazing, they had no idea what I had been through yet every person had a part in helping me. Every one of them were very kind, friendly and went out if their way to help me. I got samples of the best fitting contacts in 30 years, found the perfect pair of glasses and Mimi even found the best way to get contacts and glasses at the very cheapest price. I was feeling calm and excited long before my appointment was over. They also did a fabulous job of enforcing social distancing and protecting us without feeling like they were forcing us to do anything. I really appreciate all they did for me. It was great to see a group of people work together so well despite being very busy.

I went to VisionWorks a while back and thought this was a legitimate business.They seemed to be a legitimate business even showing me a really great deal to get contacts on top of my glasses through my VSP insurance.So I recommended them to my girlfriend who speaks almost no English only Spanish (Note she has my exact vision insurance)I took her there to set up and appointment.The guy told me they had a Spanish speaking associate so she would understand.Total lie,even the the Dr.spoke 0 Spanish so which is it Vision Works? I am going with her to pick up her glasses very soon and I hope you guys can explain why you would put her in a $99 frame around $285.00 EACH LENS!!!!! Her insurance allows $300.00 frames!!! I worried about her getting ripped off and it appears my fears have come true.We have different off days or i wouldve been with her to make sure this didnt happen. Is it really that hard to tell the truth and miss a sale or a company that large to hire personel that are bilingual. I will find the truth by next Saturday or I will be reporting this company to the BBB... If i spoke only Spanish i would never go to this Murray,Ut.location... 4-3-21 I will update this review to see what kind of company Vision Works really is?

I have been to Vision Works a few times for my annual exam and contacts. Service has always been decent however this last visit was far from decent. They request you fill out forms on line which I prefer but then they call twice ask for the same info, then tell you to submit again and lastly ask for the info AGAIN when you arrive! The associates are always anxious and make it very clear verbally how busy they are and how difficult insurance is which to me is unprofessional. Lastly I was given a rebate for my contacts in Dec 2019, when I tried to submit the rebate I learned it expired in July 2019 and trying to get a new rebate form or code was like pulling teeth... I still dont have a new rebate code and not sure if it is even worth the $75! I will be finding a new eye doctor next year.

The staff here are very helpful and service-oriented. I purchased some contacts, and when the order fell through for whatever reason, they immediately fixed the problem and gave me an extra 5 pairs of contacts for the trouble. Highly recommended.

The staff is very friendly but they are extremely slow moving. I was there for 1.5 hrs for a regular eye appointment. It seemed like they were short handed but I feel like for as much as they charge they should be able to hire on someone else to help customers. Additionally, I called to follow up about my glasses order and they didn’t even have record of it. They said they’d call me about an update and they haven’t. I’m currently on hold and have been on hold for 10 minutes. I just wanna get my new glasses ffs.Update- wow they really do not like to answer their phones. Very annoying.

Been to this place a couple times. The guy that works there is awesome, helpful and knowledgeable. But the other lady has a bad temper, doesn’t know anything about her work, keeps asking the other lady and guy questions.She can’t never find anything, gives you the glasses ugly boxes not the original one (even when you pay over 600 for two pairs). That lady shouldn’t work there if she doesn’t like her job. I saw her treat other customer with disrespect. Forgot to get her name but will make sure to call her supervisor and put on a complain.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To the guy for been patient and helpful

This place was amazing! I had just left different eye care place where I received terrible service. I found these guys online and thought I’d give them a try. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed. The gal who helped me (sorry I forgot her name) was so very nice and helped me order my contacts. I will be going back here for sure to order some glasses from them. I went in for an eye exam and felt like there wasnt diligence about the charges. I had filled out all the pre-appointment paperwork at home before arriving. Upon arriving, they were quick to get me in for my exam which was nice. I sat in one area and looked at the little house through the peephole on the machine, I looked through the other machine that blows a puff of air in my eye, they instructed me to sit in another area where I had to press my eye up against another machine and see the green bullseye and then the exam in the room with the optometrist. The optometrist instructed me to put on the contacts he had laid out on the table.When I was finished with that, the woman checking me out informs me that they dont take my insurance. If this were the case, I wish they had told me that before all of the exams? Luckily, before I went I printed out a paper detailing the accompanying coverage for vision. She tells me its accepted and then informs me that my total was like $150 when I was only expecting to pay the copay and $20 for the excess in cost for the contacts that my insurance doesnt cover. When I asked how the total became $150, she informed me that theres a $40 charge for the contact fitting and a $35 charge for one of the other exams where I looked at the bullseye. If those exams costed extra and were optional, why did no one tell me that?I would have appreciated more transparency with the charges before the exams were done. If things were optional or not covered by my insurance, I wouldve appreciated knowing that. I felt as if they tacked additional charged on without my knowledge.

My husband and I both had an appt mine at 5pm and his at 520 pm we were 15 mins late and they wouldnt see me. This was my 1st time coming to Visionworks and my last. Dont want to come to a place where they dont care about their customers. Very bad 1st impression of Visionworks. I will not reschedule to come back. I will take my business esle where. They could of still saw me. Especially being that my husband and I had back to back appts. They just chose not too.Disappointed CustomerVA Customer.

I was well taken care of and staff made my experience that much better. I was just there for an eye exam and to look at new frames and I didnt feel pressured to buy anything which is super nice. I think its rare to find a diamond in the rough when it comes to excellence service, excellent hospitality, and a STELLAR experience all around. I wasnt very fond of this place before covid now its awful to go into. We picked out my sons glasses and got everything ready to pay. I wanted my husband to come see his glasses before we paid. I tried to make an appointment right than to come back with my husband but they said we didnt need one, we could just come back and pay. So we came back and waited a while to try them on, than we waited about 30 minutes to pay and they wouldnt let us, we need an appointment! So we left and got his glasses elsewhere for cheaper with insurance and transitions. The exact same frames he wanted. They didnt require an appointment, were friendly and helped us right when we walked in. Even let us order his glasses right then without an appointment!I had to go back for my glasses and wasnt told I needed an appointment to pick them up. I was just exchanging them so I thought I could just switch them out and leave. My bad for not fully reading full the text. So I waited for 10 minutes on the X not being acknowledged. My kids were waiting in the car with my mom so I gave up and left. I came back again and was told I needed an appointment. Luckily no one was there so they let me get them. It was a quick in and out. If my vision insurance covered another place I wouldnt come back. Visionworks needs to work on their customer service.

Based on all of the positive reviews, I went to Visionworks in Murray for the first time today to be fitted for some contacts. Burt and the crew at Visionworks are AMAZING! I havent worn contacts for 15+ years and so I was stating from the beginning again. Burt was caring, competent, personable, professional, and funny. He went above and beyond to teach me how to use them and was patient and accommodating as I practiced until I was successful. He made sure that everything was right with the contacts and that I was pleased with the product and the outcome. He is a total fountain of knowledge when it comes to contacts and glasses and he presented several options for me to consider. Its been a while since Ive experienced such stellar service accompanied with great fun and laughter! I am going to refer all my friends and family to Burt and the crew and Visionworks. Ill also be back to get some glasses as well! Go visit them--you will not be disappointed!

Everything from start to finish is definitely a solid 5 stars! It’s been nothing but a great experience right from the beginning. Calling to schedule the appointment with Burt (who is super funny, friendly & just overall amazing), was simple & fun! They are very flexible & open in finding the right time to meet your needs. I love that they text appointment reminders the day before & day of, too. A nice friendly reminder is always welcome with my busy schedule! As for the appointment, that was great from start to finish too! I had a pretty big emergency involving my dogs (who are my babies), so I was a little late to my appointment. They were still just as kind as if I were on time & still willing to work with me. They have an AMAZING selection of glasses, too! Whew boy!! It was so hard to narrow down my full tray of frames (they give you a little carrying tray to put the frames you’re interested in so they don’t get mixed up & forgotten, which I LOVE). I had an appointment with Dr. Hamblin who was very nice, informative, efficient & professional. I always wear glasses b/c I have astigmatisms in both my eyes & contacts have always been a nightmare for me. But Dr. Hamblin is the first & only eye Dr. who actually helped provide a solution to that. They have 1 use contacts & then throw away (something I’ve never heard of before, tho I’ve asked if there’s anything like that in the past), which is great for people like myself who mainly wear glasses but would like the option to wear contacts occasionally. After my appointment, I checked out with Lisa who was also very nice, helpful & friendly. She went over all pricing of everything with me in detail. I obtained my original prescription at this location, but I live part time out of state. I often times have to deal with other locations or stores due to traveling - but this location has come through for me, multiple times, from across the country. The absolute best customer service provided to me by all team members and Dr. Hamblin. If you are in the area, do not go anywhere else for eye care!

This was the BEST experience I have ever had going to an eye doctor appointment!! Their customer service, interaction and genuine level of responsible care is outstanding. I can be a skeptic of any doctor but this VisionWorks’ Team Is gracious, intelligent and not to just me personally...to each client that I observed. The environment isn’t pretentious and you certainly won’t get that feeling that you paid too much out of necessity...they even saved me money!!! They’ve got my business. Came here a few weeks ago, I was able to come in same day that I called. Everyone was really nice and I didnt have to wait long. The staff was helpful when getting my frames picked out. They told me 10 to 15 business days and I got my glasses in less than 5 days. I love my new glasses, they are really nice quality and I can see again! Highly recommend this place!Came back again, a little over a year later and they are still amazing as ever! Burt is really awesome and has a great positive attitude and goes above and beyond! I enjoy coming here for my contacts and glasses and dont want to go anywhere else!

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a business. I was in a bind and needed an exam the same day. I called Visionworks and Shelby worked to fit me in the same afternoon. She absolutely deserves some recognition for such great service. She was knowledgeable, personable and professional. I have seen the same ophthalmologist for 23 years so I was nervous to go somewhere else but Dr. Hansen was absolutely exceptional. He was kind, caring, genuine, and so helpful. He was able to find me newly available lenses for my really strong prescription and also found a better fit prescription for me than I have had before. I would recommend them to anyone for their vision needs. Thanks guys!

This is the only place I go to get glasses now. I actually switched my insurance to make sure they were in network because they are so awesome. Burt and Rachelle are rock stars when it comes to customer service and knowing the products. The optometrist here is also fantastic, full of knowledge thats hes happy to share, he always remembers me, is patient and makes sure I get exactly what you need.

Great place.I walked in and was greeted instantly from Burt. I told him my concerns of the last place I went to looking for frames. (First time glasses wearer!) They pushed me a lot and definitely made me feel more like a number instead of a person. Burt listened and helped me understand not only what would look great but the how’s and why each frame would work.Mimi (so sorry if that’s spelt wrong) gave me her honest opinion and ended up pulling out one pair at the end that checked all the boxes for all of us.Eileen checked me out and helped me understand what lenses are best, gave me the option to choose, and then explained my benefits perfectly.Thank you from this first time glasses purchaser.They are NOT pushy and you can tell they CARE.Please come here!

If you want someone to bend over backwards and inside out then this is place to be. The customer services is way off the charts because of the staff is A+ quality grade. They all deserve promotions.I spend way too much time here and end up sadly staying for 2 hours long but I leave feeling happy.

I took my son there first on a Saturday. The following week I went for my apt on Saturday. Both of our glasses were ready by Wednesday after each of our appointments. We went to the office in Murray on Winchester Street. The employees there and the eye dr. Were all amazing. Great customer service!! The team at Visionworks was very helpful. Our doctor was excellent. They had a big selection. We had a clear explanation of our options, and they did their best to get my wife and I the best deal with the current promotions.They had our lenses in stock and were able to cut them and fit them to the frames the same day. I noticed the next day that one of my lenses had a minor scratch/defect. I took my glasses in to show them and they ordered a new lens to replace it. The lens came in a week later, and all I had to do was take my frames in. They replaced the bad lens in under an hour and free of charge.Im very satisfied with my experience and all the employees sense of customer service and professionalism.

Hands down the best experience Ive had seeing an opthomologist. The staff was well educated, very friendly. Answered all my questions and even doubled checked contact prices to make sure the information they were giving me was accurate. They didnt push me into buying anything, gave me a couple different trail pairs to try on. They just made a long time consumer. I will definitely be back.

I purchased glasses with scratch-resistant and glare-proof lenses. I also purchased a one-year replacement plan for the lenses. I realized I got hairspray on my lenses and couldnt get it off, when I called, they said I need to replace the lenses. They replaced the lenses for me, but they replaced them with cheap lenses. They had scratched within the first 2 weeks. My glasses quickly went from being my favorite, to my least favorite. I HATE putting my glasses on. I can barely see because of all the scratches. I take great care of my glasses, so I cant image how anyone could get away with these lenses. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money on my glasses, just to have them replaced with cheap garbage. If I had known I was getting the cheap stuff, I would not have done it and I would have tried other methods to get rid of the hairspray first.This review would be lower, except the people who work here are always so nice to me. I really do love my frames. Im just disappointed with how I was treated after I spent almost $500 on a pair of glasses that I already want to replace just after a year.

SUPER SERVICEwe are here on holidays and my daughter lost her (contact) lens. Big problem because no reserve....Luckyly we came here and Burt was awesome!!!He is funny and very kind. I called in for my prescription, I couldnt get it because of HIPPA. Oh well. But I really didnt appreciate the woman who answered the phone talking to me like I was a child, then proceeded to tell me to get my parent involved. Im 26, Im an adult it felt really condescending to be told to have my parent go get my prescription. Also I was displeased with when I got my glasses I felt pressured to buy more expensive frames...

Overall it was fine. The doctor seemed uninteresting in my exam and I had to ask about everything or he wouldn’t tell me. I felt like he didn’t really want to tell me much about it. All he would say is, “its good”. After asking lots of questions he did tell me I might have high blood pressure. That would of been nice to know right away and not me digging it out. He really pushed the idea of me buying contact and glasses that same day which I get it, but don’t keep offering if I said no. A few times he called out his assistant for missing some steps in the process in front of me. Very unprofessional and it made me feel very uncomfortable. They seem to have some good deals on contacts and glasses but probably won’t go back for that, I rather seek somewhere else.The receptionist and assistant where really nice!

Hands down the BEST Visionworks location! Ive been a Visionworks customer for years and have used several locations, and I have found that this one is consistently good. For example:Every employee is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Cant say that for the others (ahem*Sugarhouse*ahem). Burt always has a smile and remembers me, at least what we talked about, if not always my name! Richelle knows all the work arounds with insurance and gets the best deal she can. For some reason, they, Mimi in particular, are ALWAYS able to explain your benefits without locking up your plan to their store. Eileen and Lisa do great adjustments and are very patient! Dr. Hamblins exams can be fast, but he is accurate.Whenever I do have a problem, they take care of it. Other reviews that say they dont, or dont check insurances, must have been having a bad day. The first or second question they ask is if youre using benefits today. This location is the only place who doesnt upsell, or get annoyed if your budget doesnt allow for the fancy stuff. Do yourself a favor and go here!

Went in because they were having a buy one get one free sale. Was given a date of 2 weeks for my glasses to be in. Thought that was a long time because mine normally come in within a week. The first pair came in in 5 days and they called me. I wantedto wait until the second pair came in. After 2 weeks I had to call them to find out they still werent ready. There was an incident with one of the lenses and they were having to wait for new lenses. 1. Why is the second set going to take three times as long as the first, not only twice as long? 2. Why couldnt they be bothered to let me know what was going on? 3. Why was the guy so blasé about them taking so long with no communication when someone has given them over $500?
