We stopped with a bit of an emergency and several of the staff helped right away, were very pleasant, and when we thanked them said we want to make sure our customers are safe. They certainly went the extra mile and gave us huge peace of mind. A wonderful example of great customer service and genuine, compassionate caring.

Called to make an appointment to have my car looked at, and was told to bring it right in. Brought it in about half hour later and was in and out so quickly. They told me what the issue was and were honest with me about the severity, rather than insisting it was a major issue like other shops have done. They didnt even charge me for bringing it in.. its nice knowing there are shops out here still that are honest.

Monro in Oneonta really came through. It was late Saturday afternoon and they were able to diagnose and fix my truck even staying late to ensure the job was finished. Extremely slow garage, takes hours for small repairs and charges higher end prices for these repairs. Wish they would pick up the pace some and not slack around as the last 10 times I’ve visited this location, workers are seen on their phones and not doing their job in a timely manner. Would not recommend visiting this location.

Although they dont answer their phone very often, I was able to get an oil change done close to their closing time. I went to 3 different places that day before them that offered oil changes, but they all turned me down claiming they couldnt fit me in. However, Monro was able to do so. The change took only about half an hour, and the wait was not excruciating. Their service was impeccable, and the guy even checked my engine light codes for me!! I definitely recommend this place to other people. Low prices, but great service!

Usually get good service, however they decided to take 5 hours to inform me a new crank shaft sensor doesnt seem to like my car. Now having to wait until the following day for this service which who knows how much longer that is going to take.

I went to a nationally known shop in Pennsylvania for an alignment on my Ford Flex a month ago. I realized after a month that my brand new rear tires were completely worn on the inside edges to the point of the steel belts were showing. That shop never touched the rear alignment and literally set the toe and let it go. This caused me to find a reputable shop to help me. I called Monro and spoke to Rich. Rich was more than knowledgable and helpful on the phone and set up an appointment. When we arrived he was a bit backed up but got us in quickly. I have been in the auto business all my life and watching Rich do the alignment told me I picked the right place. Rich understood the difference between doing an alignment and doing a good alignment. I couldnt be more pleased with not only the service I received but the great workmanship that was performed on my wifes Flex. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good repair provider. So I have to say, If you take your vehicle to Monro auto on Main St. In Oneonta, make sure to get a second opinion. Took my Jeep here and was told I had a Cracked Head, or gasket. A $4500 repair. Got a second opinion and found out I just had to reset the computer after I changed out the alternator. Some people are just in it for the money!!

Got a message from my husband that his brakes fell apart on his way home from work right after we just had our car inspected, and brand new brakes put on, was there from morning until the late afternoon too. He fixed the brakes on the side of the road, returned to Monroe and one of the employees said “that’s 2 in 2 weeks”. So unless if you want to risk your life and waste your money, take your car elsewhere.

New in town, chose this place based on good reviews. Their customer service and work are good. Also, they went out of their way to accommodate my schedule, so I plan to use them again.

AWESOME PLACE! TRUSTWORTHY! CUSTOMER SERVICE TOP PRIORITY! My daughter attends college nearby and she had an issue with her car where she thought she was unsafe driving it. I am 2 1/2 hrs. away and told her to go to Monro Muffler to have her brakes checked. Ryan checked her car out fully. He evaluated her car promptly and her car was fine and he didnt fabricate an issue. He did not charge her. Ryan is a honest, trustworthy person. It was like sending her to family who you could trust. During a very important family trip, we hit a pot hole on I-88 and dropped a muffler. When we called the guys at Munro, they took us right in and made a temporary repair quickly. Don’t ever get your car worked on here. You will leave with less parts in your car than you got there with and all they will offer you is a oil change for hours of wasting your time and shotty auto work.

They spoke to my warranty company on my behalf for my repairs. Apparently they were told nothing would be covered and they didnt bother to call and let me know and went ahead and did it anyway. Ridiculous, use common sense! Stay away from here if you want smart service.

Fantastic service!The guys were busy but still managed to save the day! I called two other stations and they were both closed. Patched a hole in my rear tire (on a Saturday) and we were back on the road to Howe Caverns in a half an hour.You guys rock, really appreciate the help.

On a Sunday afternoon I needed a rapid brake job while my daughter was in dance rehearsal. Not only did they get me in and in out, they managed to fix one problem without buying expensive new parts. It cost less than I thought, and I was back to rehearsal early! Excellent service with a great smile.

I went for an alignment and was told that I need a new control arm, two ball joints and 4 new tires. My friend checked it out, control arm was fine, he replaced one ball joint and tires are completely optional with an alignment... Sales poeple should be more honest and stop making up problems that dont exist. Zero trust from me.

I initially brought my car in for an oil change—$16 and in and out very quickly despite their being busy. At the time I brought up I was worried about my wheel bearing and talked prices. After driving around that same day I realized I should really figure out the problem sooner rather than later so I knew what I was looking at financially. I returned to the shop (they’re open Sundays into the evening!) I asked if I could set up an appointment to get it looked at and they took my car then and there to drive it and look at it at that time. They found that one of my brakes was “sloppily” done and fixed it at no cost to me. They assured me and reassured me it wasn’t my wheel bearing. So, I drove it along the interstate later that day but I still heard the noise (like a whirring—I could hear the tires rotating). I sheepishly brought it back the next day fully expecting eye rolls and huffing and puffing, but was met with smiles. Again, despite being even busier this time, they took my car, drove it around and then rotated my tires (I was able to watch them do this and see there was no play in the wheels so it wasn’t the wheel bearing like they’d initially reassured me but I was still paranoid about). And again, for no cost, they eased my worries and panic about everything. They showed me the wear in the tire and explained that that is where the noise was coming from. That tire was put on the back and that is now where the noise is, so I can be confident they knew this was the problem. I can’t wait to go back and get my snow tires. I’ve never felt so respected as a customer—specifically a customer at an auto shop.

I chose Monroe to install my tires. My appt was at 3pm I went to the store came back at 4:15pm. My car was still sitting out in the parking lot just as I had left it. So I came in and indicated that I had a 3pm appt!?! The lady at the counter said that she could get 2 guys on and have me outta here pretty quick. Its now almost 5pm and Im still sitting here waiting 2 hour wait wait time when you have an appt is ridiculous. Never again will I come here to have anything dome to me car. I had heard poor reviews of Munro and was reluctant to go there, but I had a serious problem with an overheated engine on New Years Eve (a Sunday, no less) and had to drive 300 miles the following day. This was the only garage open in the area. When we called, we learned there was a new manager, Ryan, who took over the store 3 weeks earlier, who said he would do whatever he could to help us out, even though he only had one mechanic in the shop that day. When I arrived, Ryan personally inspected the car, made a couple of calls to his warehouse, and guaranteed me that he would get me back on the road the same day. The car was ready to go a half hour earlier than he estimated, and the drive the following day was smooth. Ryan is honest and dedicated, and he has won over a new customer.

Been going there for years with all of my vehicles. Ford Explorer had many problems that the dealer I bought it from wouldnt cover under warranty. Most of the guys there are very helpful and understanding. Some managers were not so good but they tend to go thru managers like water. But service has always been good to me.

My boyfriend and I were in our way up to Ithaca for New Years and my wind shield wiper fluid would not come out. It was essential since it was snowy and icky out. We stopped into this Monroe spontaneously and had good service from the start. Ryan said he would take a look at it and figured out the problem. He was nothing but hospitable the whole time. I have to agree with the other people listed here. This place will rip you off. I went in for an inspection which should have passed without issue and they failed it because my brake fluid needed to be flushed (which is all new fluid by the way since i just replaced a brake line a month before hand). Which would cost 162$ plus another 130 to replace a u-joint that was only 1 year old and in perfect working order. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Went in for a new radiator and next thing I know Im up to 1000$+ in repairs that I didnt ask for. Then a few months later my regular mechanic took a look at the shotty work and said it wont last, sure enough a week later Im leaking radiator fluid everywhere. Go somewhere else or your car will never get fixed.

Then on a separate occasion set up an appointment ahead of time with time sensitivity in mind and was told upon arrival it would be an hour after my scheduled time at least before they would look at the vehicle. Much cheaper shops in area to complete work using same quality of parts.

I have been going there for years and have brought several vehicles there for service and never had a problem until recently. Its under new management and they are a bunch of scum bag scam artists who will screw you at a drop of a dime. If I could give a negative rating I would. I am withdrawing the 5 vehicles that I used to have serviced there because of piss poor management and underminding incompetence.

I came in for an alignment due to my tires wearing unevenly. AFTER having the alignment done, my car began listing to the right and my steering wheel was way out off center. When I called the shop back the next morning, they acted not at all surprised and made a comment about how the mechanic that did the original alignment doesn’t usually do them! They redid the alignment the next day, but none of the original $120 was refunded. I had decided to give this shop another chance after not having been in a few years due to them not knowing how to drive standard.

Great ppl to do business with! We got a flat on a Saturday,they were very busy and still managed to get us back on the road in a timely fashion!

My minivan died in Oneonta on a Sunday during a college drop-off trip. I suspected the starter was bad. Got a AAA tow to the only place open on a Sunday. They found and replaced a corroded wire. That repair was about $350 less than a new starter. Being an out-of-towner in a hurry, they could have told me anything and I would have gone for it. That shows a lot of integrity.

This place is a JOKE!. Went there for an inspection and was told to go away because they didnt feel like turning on the machine, which apparently takes an hour to turn on. Absolutely terrible attitudes. Everyone there, except for the younger folks, will give you a hard time about everything. First they try and sucker you in and then have poor attitudes because they suddenly have more work to do. They rip you off and act very immaturely and unprofessionally. PLEASE READ THIS! Find a different place to get your car fixed!

Unprofessional... Check engine light and AT oil temp light came on in my wifes car. Called my dad who is a transmission mechanic in the Albany area. He told me to check the transmission oil because the trans is overheating. Couldnt find the dipstick for the trans so we took it to monro because they were the only shop open on Sunday. I told the guy the issue and he gave the snyde remark that that light only means that the trans was overheating not that it needs oil. Said they would look at it in 15mins. Hour and a half goes by and they finally pull the car into the shop. They look at it for 5 mins. Then say we need to bring it to the dealer because they dont have the oil for it. Meanwhile the staff is joking around and swearing profanities at each other in the work area while we wait.
