One of my favorite dessert spots in the area. Their Honey Toast is one of my favorites!! I did learn I prefer the regular Honey Toast vs the Lava version. Didnt care as much for that. Place could be a little cleaner but that could be tough as it seems every time I go there theres only 1-2 employees working. Parking and seating can be tough at times but overall thats probably a good sign the place is good
Beautiful creations, super sweet staff. They have indoor and outdoor seating with amazing music selections. $22 dollars for these 3 things prices are fair! Parking spaces are limited if not parking is available on the street. Hand sanitizer is located in the entry way. Plenty of yummy choices, definitely will go again! First time going today and Im in love !! Must go !
We were there last night, they closed late. Full of people. We ordered Thai Tea Crepe Cake and Sweet Crepe with Nutella and banana. To be honest, totally disappointed! The cake was tasteless, the cream was blunt, as if it was made few days ago. As for the sweet crepe, it was very hard. Im a crepe lover, but I finally cant finish it and throw it away
Great desserts !! I must say that staff is so friendly, and the order comes out quick! We loved their icecreams and their drinks are great too. Could not try much but whatever we tried ...it was above expectations !!Rating 4 start as I found it on little bit costlier side and not everything was available that day.Definitely coming back to this place to try more.
Come here with an empty stomach! Cant go wrong if you order honey toast with Nutella, strawberries, and banana on top! We also ordered crepe with strawberries. Honestly I think the toppings are way overpriced ($1-1.25 per topping and minimal fruit, including non ripe banana and sour strawberries). We ordered two dessert items and one large blended coffee and it was almost a price of two meals. This store definitely needs remodeling. It looks like different used chairs and tables from thrift store were put together. Huge trash can sits in the middle of the hallway. Open kitchen with visible dirty utensils and kitchen wares. Thumb down.
Delicious desserts. Cute place. Definitely going to return to try different treats.
The place where your sweet tooth goes to run free through the fields of sugar and uses the bathroom where it pleases. This month has been wacky for me brain. The place is neat, good desserts with lots options to create a unique dish that mirrors your taste in Instagram posts.
One of the many dessert places we frequent when we have a big craving for some toast or milk tea. The lines hear are a bit long but youre not in line for too long. They currently have indoor and outdoor seating. However be on the lookout for parking as it is a bit on high demand at this location.
Great service and very yummy desserts. Perfect place for studying and hanging out. Highly recommend.
This is my 4th time here and it will be my last. I understand itβs a popular food and boba spot, and for this reason you would think that the owners have a system in place to serve their long line of customers. They should have two separate lines for pick up and to place an order. I placed on online order so that my drinks/dessert would be ready by the time I arrived. I received an email confirmation at 8:35 notifying me that my order was ready. We arrived at 8:25 (before we even received a βyour order is readyβ confirmation email) and they asked my boyfriend to wait in the βplace an orderβ line which placed him behind 12 customers waiting to place their initial order. I kid you not, my boyfriend waited in line and he did not pick up our order until 9:15 even though he got in line at 8:25 and we received our email confirmation at 8:35!!! By this time, my drinks had been sitting out for a while and my brownie was cold and hard as a rock! I had to come home and place it in the microwave for a minute for it to soften up and it was not worth it at all. I ended up throwing it away because the edges were still hard. This place is a waste of time and money and although I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses, especially during these difficult times, I just feel that the owners should have set a system in place by now. This happens every single time and they ask u to wait in line despite having ordered online to avoid the wait times. It doesnβt make sense. Theyβve been open for years and they still havenβt figured a system out. If they cannot handle the amount of orders or accommodate their number of customers/online orders, then DO NOT have an online ordering option, especially if you do not have two separate lines to order and pick up.
Got a mango smoothie and a winter melon milk tea. The fruit in the smoothie was still frozen and it looked like it wasnt blended very well
Oh my goodness! If youre looking for special desserts, this is the place to go. Twice, Ive had the Nutella lined Sweet Crepe Dessert with sliced strawberries, powdered sugar, chocolate drizzle and homemade whipped cream. I had Thai Tea Crepe Cake with Thai Tea sauce, topped with powdered sugar and homemade whipped cream, and tonight I had Chocolate Crepe Cake with Nutella Sauce topped with a dollop of homemade whipped cream and a piece of sliced strawberry. I must say that so far, the sweet crepe dessert with Nutella and strawberries is my all-time favorite. Whenever Im in San Diego I make it a point to visit Up2You Cafe.
I love this place.I order online and the presentation is always so prettyThe flavors are so unique make me so happy everytime I order here is short words this is my favorite dessert spot
The best brick toast, crepe and waffles! Love that they carry crepe cakes now too
This place is off of the main road. Itβs a cute little hole in the wall that has a few dessert selections. I came and got the chocolate sphere. It was simple yet delicious. There was a lot of space, I came on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet. But I can see this place being popular with the younger crowed to just hang out.
Takes an insane amount of time to get orders out and on top of that food here is a joke. It looks like the food should be warm right out of the oven but it is always cold when served. Food looks great but tastes 1 star. I wouldnt recommend go somewhere else!
Not the friendliest staff. Item not sold as described on the menu, be very specific! when I asked about my order, the staff told me I ordered it wrong instead of fixing it. I do not recommend.
Poor customer service. I had to clean my own table. The portions are small and overpriced.
This is an awesome dessert place. My wife and I really.enjoy coming here for not only the delicious treats but the atmosphere and feel of the place is great as well. The drinks are alright, nothing out of the ordinary but definitely come here for the desserts. They always hit the spot and will satisfy any sweet tooth. There are a wide variety of games to play and the seating is great. There are large table and couple tables. My wife always loves snuggling at one of the coach seating areas while we savor each bite. Prices are average and the parking can get a little packed during busy hours. We recommend ordering the honey toast with Nutella.
If it was Up2Me, I would not recommend any of the desserts or drinks at Up2You Cafe. Despite being surrounded by dessert and boba places, its amazing how this place can even stay in business, especially when they are serving sub-par puffle waffles and boba. The first time I tried to make an online order for a puffle waffle, they cancelled my order even though the order was placed 10 minutes before their last call, which is 10:30pm.The second time I made an online order, I was even more disappointed than the first time. I ordered a puffle waffle with green tea ice cream and Mochi. I went to pick up the order and the girl working at the counter DROPPED my order as she was taking it out from behind the counter. She didnt even apologize and just picked it up and handed it to me. My disappointment didnt end there. When I opened the box, I discovered that they didnt give me any green tea ice cream, even though I paid extra for it. In the end, I was left with a sad, soggy, disheveled puffle that had multi-colored old soggy mochi bites randomly sitting on top of some whipped cream.Needless to say, I will never be back to up2you cafe. There are countless better dessert options in San Diego to eat at.
They are open during the pandemic with outside seating though its take-out only after 9:30pm.All desserts are always delicious though Im partial to the honey brick toast and the crepes. Made to order so it takes a little extra time.
Delicious brick toast, nice place to hangout, quick service
Closed down ealry before 11 did not get to try drove there for nothing
Desserts and the setting at this place is super good. staff is always timely even when they have a full house. definitely worth a return visit.
Their Puffle Waffle is literally always not working so why bother putting it on the menu?? TF... I dont visit every day, and Im not willing to visit every single day just to see if your Puffle Waffle maker is working... yall need to get it together ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ or get that PPP loan just to get that Puffle Waffle maker going if you have tooo damnnnn.
But Im a crepeIm a weird doughWhat the heck Im ordering?I could it allI dont care if it hurtsI dont have controlI want a perfect bodyI want a perfect crepeI want you to try itWhen Im not aroundTaste so Effin specialI wish I was specialBut Im a crepeIm a weird dough
Good tasting stuff but they could use better vanilla ice cream, its like thrifty ice cream or something, not entirely worth the price
I love your dog LOL
Warm and inviting, staff very friendly, the place is a small hole in the wall business. The place was packed to the wall when we rolled up and people and laughing and having a great time. We lucked out and several people left while we ordered our treats. Recommend you definitely give this place a try. So Yummy!!
Came here especially from michigan, all the way down to try these βfamousβ crepes.Got here at 9:13pm and by the time i got to the register it was 9:32pm. They told me they dont take any crepe orders after 9:30pm. She was very mean and disrespectful. Wont recommend!
Cute little coffee and dessert Cafe with lots of choices and unique dishes. Did not disappoint
Great food & customer service
Such a great late night spot for dessert. In the past they had movies running. Great place to bring your family. Kid friendly place. Service can be slow at times, but thankfully the wait is always worth it. The only thing I didnt like about the place was the proximity of the trash can to the utensils.
Amazing desserts! Try their honey toast with either a scoop of ice cream or with one of their delicious shakes ^-^
If you want to try a new dessert, youve got to go for the honey toast. We were only in town visiting and cant find anything like it anywhere else. So delicious!Update: the honey toast is still unique, but our second experience wasnt as good as the first. The topping amount didnt match the price. It was just an alright experience overall.
The drinks are good, and the toast wasnβt bad. Staff is really nice, but the ingredients seem pretty cheap. It was nice to go once. I might come back for the teas.
Great atmosphere with tasty desserts!! The staff is so friendly, the order comes out quick! I love their crepes and brick toasts! Their drinks are great too! When Im with my friends and we want a place to wind down, this is our go-to spot!
A group of my friends and I went here on a Thursday evening and it was pretty packed. The service was pretty slow, it took about 20 minutes for our whole party to get our desserts and the prices are pretty high. But the quality and free board games made up for the long wait. I would recommend for people to come, just maybe not on busy nights.
Ehhhh. I tried giving them another shot but I just dont get the hype. This time they filled my crepe with condensed milk! I thought it was just going to be a tiny drizzle on top... Who eats this stuff like that?! It was so freaking sweet we tried scraping off the condensed milk but there was no escape. We did not finish what we had ordered.
Good
I had been waiting to try this place for a while, but somehow kept putting it off. Unfortunately I am kinda disappointed... The coffee was pretty lackluster (tasted watered down), my Lava Toast was cold in the center. I probably would have given it a higher rating, but at $10 for those two items, it just made everything feel like a rip off. There are some good things about this place. It looks pretty cool inside, with lots of comfy seats. And the staff are friendly. This place would be great for a get-together with friends. As there is lots of room to spread out. As well as games to play.I just wish the food and drink was better... :(
Bad customer service and the food is mediocre at best
On our last trip to San Diego we went here twice. Once to try it out and a second time because I couldnt stop thinking about how good it was. We got the toast thing (which I cant remember the name of) with Nutella, ice cream and whipped cream. Who knew a big fat piece of toast with dessert stuff on top could be so good?!? Loved it. We also got the molten cake at one of the visits but didnt enjoy that as much as the toast. My husband got a crepe our second time and that was huge and he loved it too. Definitely a good place to go for dessert.
His place is awesome!!! Great atmosphere, unique wall paintings and dΓ©cor. And the desserts are amazing!! Theyre also very clean and organized. Definitely recommend this place for sweet lovers
Coconut crepe cake slice was delicious! It was kind of warm inside the building. Some air circulation would have been nice. Plenty of comfy seating. Lots of dessert options.
Always an amazing time and environment here to catch up with old friends. So yummy and the honey bread is so delicious!!!! Love love this pamce, there are games, lots of seating and yummy desert options. Parking is what kind of sucks its a small plaza, but plenty of parking on the streets.
Great place to hang out! Their brick toast is awesome. Lots of selections for the toppings. Crepe is okay. I feel like they can put a little more inside. Very cute little place. Problem is during busy times parking is difficult to find and seats are not available. Parking lot is super tiny. You have to park on the street.
Best Crepes Ive ever had.
LOVE this place! I had the Honey Toast with custard, vanilla ice cream and strawberries! I will absolutely be back for more.
Games, good calming vibe, good food and drinks for a snack. This is a place that can get busy but is also off the main strip of Kearny Mesa. Definately a secret spots to check out.
Awesome desert and tea!
Great prices on drinks and crepes. I had a cafe mocha and it was delicious, very rich chocolate flavor, cocoa powder not syrup. Nice and strong too. Atmosphere is very fun, they have fans you can check out. Will definitely be back.
My most recommended coffee shop, you have fun or come study with your headphones. Perfect spot for either one
This place is an amazing spot to hang out with friends or even have a casual date. The desserts are wonderful and the drinks are amazing! The decor great as well. They even let you borrow a game to play with your friends.
Slow AF for being the first ones in here, so not sure if thatβs because of bad scheduling by the manager. Super stuffy inside so it was kinda sticky. Great mag selection. Decor is like eclectic industrialism with a splash of anime, unique. I like it. Drinks were good.
Loved it
Its a really nice place to grab coffee and desert lots of great options
The espresso machine is broken! Who knows for how long! And it does not seems they are going to fix it! Then the barista refused to make an instant coffee they have demonstrated on the top shelf. When, finally, I decided to go with a cup of tea instead of the coffee the Cafe does not offer anymore, it took them forever to make the cup of hot tea, which appeared to be barely warm and had no taste at all - colored water !
In all its quaint simplicity it is awesome place to go. The cafe is set up for the enjoyment of everyone who goes there. It doesnt matter if you are by yourself or with a group of people. They even have board games (Tenga, Connect 4, UNO) to pass the time. There food and drinks are pretty good. I recommend the Match a green tea and the hazelnut latte. They also offer Belgian waffles and a variety of different crepes. Overall everyone should check it out.
I had been here before and I loved it but something changed. I brought my mom and dad here to taste the waffles and toasts but our order took longer than usual, they called the people who were after me before. I was sitting down and i noticed a waffle sitting on the counter, so I hesitated a little. Finally when I realized they werenβt calling me I went to the front desk and the guy told me to take it and that he could call me when the rest of my order was out. My dad finished his waffle and we were still waiting for my momβs to come out. It was 23 dollars for decent waffles, and bad service, which quite honestly you can get better service with cheaper prices at a different cafΓ©.
This place is a real gem. The desserts here are really tasty! Definitely a place worth a try if youre looking for a place to eat desserts
