Really rude front desk staff, which seems to be the reputation of this place.I called early in the morning to cancel my 4 PM appointment on Oct. 11, because I was sick. Since then, I texted, called many times, left voicemails-- no one got back to me to reschedule. Today, Nov 1st, Lisa (front desk) answered my call & told me it was she who initially scheduled me, and seemed frustrated immediately. She told me I didnt need to explain the whole thing to her, even though it was unclear if anyone got my messages. She also said the time she had originally scheduled me for (4 PM) was something they would never do, and she only set that up for me because I begged (which I didnt).After that, it was clear this wasnt functional for me, so I let Lisa know Id be finding a different provider.

What an amazing and absolutely great place to get your optical appointment and glasses. The whole staff is just TOP NOTCH!! customer service is priority one with these guys and you feel like your hanging out with friends. Great environment. Doctor, people and the most up to date exam equipment and HUGE selection of glasses.

I’m new going to this clinic and all I have to say is I loved my experience! The environment is comfortable and inviting and my eye exam was only a couple weeks out of scheduling. I used to go to pnw eye and I feel like they were never this friendly or welcoming-more sterile. Plus their next available appt was almost 4 MONTHS out!Dr. Gorham is very friendly and I felt comfortable chatting with him and feel like he truly cared about my eyes and well being. So glad I found a new and good eye clinic to go to!

I was told that my sons glasses would be ready in two to two in a half weeks. I hadn’t received a call stopped by to inquire about them. They told me they would be in Monday or Tuesday (puts me at 19 days) Wednesday comes so I go back in only to be told they might be in hopefully Thursday or Friday. I have no problem with waiting. But you shouldnt be telling customers false information. If its going to take three or four weeks say that!

I came here once in 2018 and had a rather bad experience with the staff. I had written off coming back here, but with a new job, Family Vision Center of Tacoma offered a better deal with my vision insurance than other places, so I decided to give them a go again.Im very glad I did. Dr. Gorhams office has a completely new staff, and with that change its a completely different place. Everyone is so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I picked up a pair of glasses from them recently, and ended up just having a conversation with the staff for probably a good 30 minutes if not more. Its not just a place to go for good eye care (and it definitely does fill that role great), but a place where you can build a real connection with a team who cares not just about your eyes, but the person using those eyes too.

Always a positive experience! Short wait times, acknowledged upon entering, friendly employees!My family and I are happy with the service(s) they provide!

Fantastic little vision center. Ive been going to the same eye doctor most of my life, because I have a wacky prescription. Dr. Chungs exam was incredibly quick for how accurate my prescription is! The staff are wonderful, quick to tell me when I could come get my new pair of glasses, and I found the price to be quite reasonable.

First contact exam was fine. Had to come in for a second fitting appointment with a different doctor who was having me try contacts that werent even my correct prescription and then try to sell me the most expensive model they carried. This place is conveniently right around the corner from where I live, but I wont be going back.

I’m so happy we came back! Our whole family has been treated so well. I was on my last pair of contacts when I realized I hadn’t ordered more. They kindly gave me a sample pack and quickly ordered my new contacts. This last visit, Dr. Gorham was thorough with my 12 yr old son’s exam and then the gal ordering glasses made sure we had access to the best options for his new glasses (she had just ordered a shipment and wanted us to wait to order until we saw the newer options). I highly recommend this place for their stellar customer service and overall commitment to our well being.

I love this quaint local eye care office in my own neighborhood! The staff is accommodating and friendly, and I always feel welcome and taken care of. The exams by Dr. Chung have always been efficient and accurate. They have a decent modern selection of glasses, and a very detail oriented person making adjustments for me. I’ve been going here for over 3 years and will continue to recommend the sweet spot in Proctor.

We had been going here for years. Good docs, great office staff - ran like clockwork - they always greeted me by name as I walked through the door despite only dropping in 1 or 2 times a year. Prompt service before, during and after each visit... then there was a huge office staff turn over I only found out about after having to reschedule our yearly visits over the phone. What an abrupt change. Short, rude. They lost my sons glasses he was to have replaced after week of hearing nothing or vague excuses. My glasses are taking weeks to fill. Not following up on prescription requests,... docs are still great. Office staff makes staying there untenable. It’s really too bad.

Was told my childs glasses would be ready in about two weeks. It has now been a month. I have gonein several times asking about them. I have been patient for a month. Knowing that my child wakes up sometimes cant wear her contact lens. She has missed school due to being completely blind. Found out they had her frames with the old lens sitting there. Regardless they arent her right prescription. Its better than being blind the days she cant wear her contacts. I finally stopped in and found out that her new lens didnt pass inspection for the second time. They have been having issues with this lab before. You would think common sense would tell ya not to send anymore business to that lab. I finally grabbed her old glasses and said send the new lens prescription to a different lab.

Dr. Gorham is wonderful, seems to really enjoy what he does. He makes sure you’re comfortable and leave with what you need. The staff is also incredibly helpful and patient, even if you spend an hour looking for the right pair of frames.

Dr Stan Pugh has been caring for the vision of both myself and my husband, we have been going to him for over 20 years. The latest adventure was our puppy eating the earpieces off of my husbands glasses. He took them in, wandered out in minutes.Would recommend these folks at the drop of a hat...

I lost my contacts while visiting from out of town; Raven at the front desk was super helpful and made getting a replacement pair quick and easy. Several other eye care offices that I called were completely unwilling to help.

As usual everyone was so great! I really like to go to this office, they take really good care of me and the office staff is wonderful!

I have had constant issues with Family Vision Center. I have been a patient for years, and while the optometrist was fine, the front desk staff have been horrible. The last two pairs of glasses I ordered were significantly delayed (nearly two months on one pair, and over a month on the last). I never received calls with updates, and was treated poorly when I called to check.Ive now reached the point where I will never go back. I wanted to order sunglasses from someone else, and I called asking for my eyeglasses Rx to be sent to me. The front desk person said it would be to me by the end of the day. The next morning, I called again. I was told again the eye dr was busy and it would be end of the day. Nothing again. The next morning after that, I called again. The woman said the eye dr was busy and their scanner is broken, so I needed to come in person and pick it up. She said they would have it printed at the front desk.Around three hours after I called, I drove over in person to pick up my Rx. They said the eye dr was in with a patient and it would be 45 min or so. I told them Id been calling for three days straight, I wanted my Rx, and this was ridiculous. One front desk woman (dark hair, older) said My scanner is working. I said Great. Scan my prescription and email it to me like Ive been asking for three days then. I turned around to leave and she said Or NOT.I turned around and again told them - Ive been calling daily for three days, I came in person and was told it would be at the front desk for me, and this was ridiculous and horrible customer service. The woman told me to watch how I spoke to them and to leave or theyd have me escorted off the property. And they refused to get my eyeglass Rx.Ive reported them to Better Business Bureau (they arent members, so it likely wont do a thing.) Just be warned that this place has no customer service, and they are incredibly rude.

Very poor customer service! You’d think in today’s economy, having 6 of 7 in the family that wear glasses, an optometrist wouldn’t want to lose business; but the office staff has been terrible, rude and condescending!Try looking out for your patients, do the best for them, treat them well and they may never leave!!!

Ever since the good receptionist left, it hasnt been the same..called at least 6 times and NO answer. What kind of receptionaists does that? The new receptionists are very rude but Dr. Gorham is the best so thats why I keep going..been going there for close to 15 years and hes very personable.

Dr. Pugh has been my and my familys eye doctor since we moved to Tacoma, 40 years ago. For years now, Dr .Gorham has been taking care of my exams. They are both caring, thorough, professional, people. I recommend everyone go there for their eye care.

Very short with me on the phone. Did not seem like they want new patients. So if you are looking for new eye care go some where else.

Dr. Gorham was a complete ass. For no reason completely sarcastic and rude as can be. asking questions and getting answers was like pulling teeth. but the the receptionist were amazing and went above and beyond.

One of the ladies who works at the front desk is rude. She complains about customers in front of other customers and constantly talks down to her co-workers! It’s sooooo unprofessional! She needs to go. Other than her, this place is fantastic.

Worst experience and service. My glasses had to go back to the lab right away as they screwed up the prescription, the lenses were not secured. Took another 3 weeks to get them back and they still are not right but taking them somewhere else.

Great, they were very helpful and repaired my glasses in 10 minutes!

Regarding the Dr. Gorham bashing. Dr. Gorham is sarcastic because thats his personality. Get some tougher skin... sheesh!? I have found him to be very professional, and yes, I do enjoy his humor. Id say give him some time. Youll find hes actually a very caring and skilled doctor.Staff -- 5 stars for you. Very friendly and polite. This one(1) star review regarding the staff is way off the mark. Give me a break. What are they supposed to do about your specialized lenses not being done on time? No, theyre not the ones making them. If they said they would call you when they arrive, theyll call you. Pestering them will not speed up the process. Last I checked, everyone is entitled to a bad day.Dr. Pugh is the best! Im sad hes going to retire. Over the years he has been extremely thorough, explains everything so well. I have always felt he genuinely cares for the health of my sight.

Bait and switch. Watch out, I was told over the phone they could get my lens to me in a week or less, now I am two weeks past. When I call asking, they are short and tell me I have to wait for a call. I had a good experience with the physician, but the rest of the staff were quite rude both in person and over the phone.

I never had a really detail eye like this one. Dr. Nathan Gorham is so patient, kind and friendly. I had to go twice because I was looking for the perfect contact lenses fit for me and in both appts I got the same special attention!
