Easy on the EyesDr. Meers and his friendly staff were a delight. The on-boarding process was a breeze and the facility was sparkling-clean. I highly recommend his office if you are looking for a new eye doctor!
Amazing service! The wait time for an appointment was a while, but I expected as much due to being a new patient. The doctor provided detailed information on my condition, and rather than forcing me into a prescription, offered me cheaper alternatives that could be found elsewhere. And they didnt charge me anything beyond my insurance other than a slight examination service fee. Best doctor experience Ive had in a while.
I was having an issue with blurry vision. It was frustrating because it was getting hard to read to our little one. I scheduled an appointment for an eye test. Went through the process and they recommended prescription glasses to fix my issue. I dont have problems with far vision, just smaller print and near vision.More than two weeks go by, and I get my new glasses. They made bifocals and I couldnt see anything with them. They told me I said I had problems with far and near vision. That is completely incorrect, and their tests should have shown that. They said they would get a new set made. Almost 3 weeks later, I finally get the corrected set of glasses. Wrong. There is little difference when I put them on. Then they tell me they are computer glasses. From their email - As we mentioned in the office when you picked up your glasses today these are computer glasses ( if you try and look at distance or if you attempt to read with them they will not work as they were designed to help you on the computer.)I work with computers, but I specifically told them that I dont have problems reading a computer screen. I was having problems reading smaller print. I never asked them for computer glasses. I told them I needed something to make reading easier. Now they want me to go back for another exam to try and correct what they should have gotten right from the beginning. They billed my insurance and charged me for my computer glasses, even though that is not what I requested or what I needed. When I told them, after the second set of glasses didnt solve or even make the situation better, for a refund, they said they dont give refunds. Ill pay for the exam as you provided a service. But you charged my insurance and me for a product that is inferior, doesnt solve the problem or even make it better. Over $800 for useless glasses. They didnt listen to my request or solve the problem, they have horrible service, they dont work in a timely manner. Again, I didnt ask for computer glasses and their response tells it all. They made glasses to work on a computer but not for reading. I needed something to help reading. I have blue light glasses that I use at work when Im on my computer. You may have a different experience, but I would not recommend going to them for your eyecare or eye tests. Id give them zero stars but the lowest is one, so be it. Good luck with them if you go there.PS, get better internet or a landline. Everytime they called to give me an update their phone would cutout or drop the call. What does he need to explain? You made the wrong glasses a couple of times now. They dont work, and you guys did all of the tests. What does he need to explain? That you guys messed it up? I already know that.
I would highly recommend Tacoma Eye. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Meers was great. He was able to make some recommendations to my contact lenses that were a great improvement over what I had been wearing. I will definitely go back.
Im not crying; youre crying. I have never had such a great experience with an optometrist before. The entire staff is so kind, so supportive of their team, and absolutely dotes on their patients. The appointment was a breeze and Dr. Meers, Sherry and the girls are just absolutely wonderful. I was kept well informed through the appointment and all of my concerns were addressed and met. While my prescription was quite pricey in comparison to other quotes I received, they were worth the wait. I exchanged my current lenses for transition lenses and kept my existing frames. Although, they do carry several very fashionable options for frames. It took about 3.5 weeks to get them back (during COVID-Aug), and boy was it worth it. I put them on, got them fitted and quickly left the office to give them a try. I cried upon leaving the office to find that the tint was so quick to react to the sun, and my overly sensitive eyes were left feeling safe and without pain. I cant believe this is what Ive been missing out on. To all my other previous optometrists out there, take a lesson from this office. Ive been trying to tell doctors for ages that my photo-sensitivity is beyond my control, and I need additional help. Dr. Meers helped me feel validated in my concerns and addressed the issue right away. I cant wait to get out there and see what else there is to see with my new eyes!
Dr Meers and his staff (Sheri and Olivia especially) are friendly, accommodating, thorough, and overall just really nice people. They provide excellent service.
Im giving three stars because the receptionist are really nice and accommodating. They did the best the could to take care of me. I did not have a good exam. They are booked so tight that it was in and out. I had my mask on and breathing cause there machine to fog up and he would switch so fast i couldnt get a clear picture or sure if i could really see what he wanted me to see. He just wanted to talk about how i have a stigmatism and i have great eyes they just dont work well together. As the appointment was ending i asked him to compare it to my old prescription . He said oh they had a prism in there. Instead of seeing if the prism did anything to help my vision he just said it is not worth it. I had not input on if i felt if a prism was worth it or not cause he just said that its not. I had no say on my vision at that point i was escorted out of the room not feeling confident in the prescription that was just given to me. as i was escorted out of the exam room i was told if i stay behind a pink piece of tape i could take my mask off while i looked at glasses. This is where the nurse really shines, She is wonderful and kind. She tried to pick out glasses for me. I am picky and i wasnt confident in what the doctor gave me so i decided to leave and call my insurance to get a second opinion.
Efficient and super friendly staff. Great doctor who provides plenty of explanation of the exam process, diagnosis, treatment, different products, etc. I now have the best pair of glasses and sunglasses I’ve ever had, and I’ve been wearing glasses for 30+ years. I work with computers and smart devices all day, so I am always looking for blue light protection. The Eyezen lenses they recommend are amazing, a huge improvement over the greenish tinted lenses I had before. If you’re looking for a new eye doctor with a competent staff and friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try! I liked them so much, I convinced my mom to get her next eye exam there.
We had a great experience working with the entire staff at Tacoma Eye. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Meers and his team for anyone seeking eye care for the whole family.
I asked for a recommendation on optometrists on Facebook after having a negative experience at my previous office. Tacoma Eye was by far the most recommended on my post so I decided to give it a try and I am so glad that I did. All of Dr Meers assistants were super kind off the bat, and made me feel extremely comfortable the whole time. Along with that, Dr Meers is a great conversationalist, and made the whole appointment a breeze! I felt liberated after leaving the office both for my appointment and picking up my glasses because of their kindness and professionalism. Highly recommend
I had I hoped for this place with its rating so called to an idea what costs would be but the receptionist says she cannot tell me what I would pay for an exam. I have called other places who are out at least 2-3 months for an appointment but asking me for my insurance info they were able to tell me my costs within mins. Not sure why Tacoma Eye cannot provide the info needed.
The staff and the doctor were super friendly and helpful, my daughter and I received our glasses in perfect time for holiday season and due to the COVID situation, the office was clean and I felt safe and well cared for. I am glad that Dr. Meers and his staff are so attentive and friendly. They made the transition to their offices and care worth it. I do not feel I have lost anything in this move. Thank you all so much!
I love the staff at Tacoma Eye. They are very friendly and helpful. I always look forward to my appointments with them :)
Amazing staff and quality of service! Everyone was very friendly and competent! They cleaned everything before and after any testing, which was very reassuring during these times. Dr Meers was very thorough and explained everything he was doing.
So glad I found Dr. Meers and Tacoma Eye at Westgate. I have been in the Tacoma area for over 7 years and had not established an eye doctor (I would see my eye doctor once or twice a year when I traveled back to Texas to visit family). Thanks to Covid-19, I was forced to find someone in Tacoma. I was impressed by the measures the office is taking regarding social distancing. One patient in the office at a time, obvious cleaning of supplies in front of me, and an explanation of what is being done differently (or not being done such as dilation because it makes the patient have to stay in the office longer). Dr. Meers is a straight shooter and explains things well. He has a good bed side manner. The staff are kind as well. Thanks for your service, Dr. Meers and staff!
Worst experience in the doctors office!I didnt have a chance to see what kind of a doctor Mr. Meers is. I came to my first appointment. While filling out the paperwork, the insurance question popped up. Receptionist could not explain it to me and left it to the doctor. Was I surprise to see Mr. Meers in person in the waiting area in less then a minute after that! Long story short - as I still had an issue paying additional $90 out of pocket for my eye exam that is covered by insurance, I got offended and humiliated right there in front of two receptionists and shown to the door! The only remark Mr. Meers found for me was - not a good match! So, I can only rate this doctor with 0 stars (if there would be an option...). As for not a good match - I agree with that!
Friendly staff, proper Covid precautions, great selection of frames and good care.
Ive been looking for a quality optometrist for a long time. Tacoma Eye is fantastic. Great service and selection. Glasses arrived quickly and are even better than I expected. Dr Meers is thorough, efficient and clearly explains everything.
Dr. Meers and his staff were really helpful when it came time to get glasses for my family and I. Even though I had moved before the glasses came in, he was able to send all of our glasses to us and they were perfect! So thank you guys!!!
Love my new 141 glasses! They are so light I can barely tell Im wearing them and the company donates a pair when you buy a pair. Dr. Meers was great. I didnt feel like a number or rushed and I definitely left more educated which I love. And thanks so much to the two gals at the front who were so patient with me while I went back and forth about my decision on frames.
I love my new “screen time” glasses. My eyes tired quickly at work when using the computer or using my phone screen. My new “screen time” glasses have relieved the tiredness. I feel much more productive and accurate! Thank you!!
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Meers and his associates at Tacoma Eye at Westgate. They asked thorough and thoughtful questions. I left feeling confident that we made the right decisions regarding my eye care. Highly recommended.
Tacoma Eye at Westgate is amazing. Dr. Meers and his staff are professional and make the experience so easy. I had an eye exam, contacts, and new glasses (with a great selection to choose from). Expert, knowledgeable care and a very kind office setting and team.
Very friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Everyone was so nice and helpful here. Dr. Meers is great!
Very nice staff and they make sure you are well taken care of.
I received excellent service from all the staff during my exam visit and follow-up. I appreciated the eco-friendly measures they took in their new patient forms and the contact lens recycling I had not previously known was available.Dr. Meers was thorough, very detailed and patient with all my questions. They have an extensive variety of very nice frames and offer excellent packages. As a cash paying customer (no eye insurance) I was offered a variety of options in every price range. I chose a fabulous package from twelve84. My glasses were ordered and available much faster than expected and I couldnt be happier with the quality. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful but NOT pushy sales people. I appreciated this greatly! After 40+ years of wearing glasses this was the best experience Ive had since the small town family optometrist I had as a kid. I have also had both my children checked by Dr. Meers and can say enthusiastically they are a KID-FRIENDLY business. Thank you for your modern technology with a home town personal relationship based approach!
Tacoma Eye is wonderful. Excellent service and care.
Great doctor, and a very nice location!
