I paid $80 out of pocket after 2 types of vision insurance, just for an eye exam that lasted 20 minutes. They charge the patient an extra $40 for retinal imaging that they claim insurance does not cover. After my exam I was not able to purchase the contact lenses I needed through them, I was told to go to the Pearle Vision website to order. But soon realized I am not able to order contact lenses through the website, as this location claims. I had to find another eye doctor where I can go in and purchase the contacts I needed. I have never been to an eye doctor where you cannot purchase glasses or contact lenses directly through them. If you choose to go here for your eye care needs, please be aware.

Allan was great. Unfortunately I bought my glasses at Americas best and couldnt wear them (they wouldnt adjust the temple so they just l kept falling off my nose.) Allan did both pair in 5 min now theyre perfect. Superb customer service. Thank you.

You get greeted as soon as you walk in the door, everyone is very knowledgeable of the newest trends in eye care and when your glasses come in and you pick them up you just look and feel FABULOUS!! If you want things done in a timely manner and know someone will fall through on providing a phone call back, request for jasmine! This was my 4th time calling and the same gal answered the phone all 4 times and promised to call me back about my insurance but it wasn’t until the 6th call that someone else had answered and actually called me back within an hour! Horrible customer service on the eyeglasses side. Twice Ive had an employee of the eyeglass center try to overcharge. The only reason to verbally quote an amount over the amount thats actually owed is to withhold money for yourself. when neither one of the managers want to speak up and say anything when the one is getting called out on it either, shows that no one in that building cares how their customers are treated.

This is my first time getting an eye exam and glasses. The eye exam was quick and easy. Picking out glasses was fun and easy as well. Nicole at Pearle Vision was the best. She was very professional and helpful. This being my first time getting glasses, I really appreciated her honesty and patience. Will definitely be returning.

Love this location for Dr. Sexton, recently I needed some adjustments made to my glasses and Kerry was wonderfully precise. The retail space is clean And sanitized and everyone is adhering to Covid protocols, so nice to feel safe in a public space again. This is for sure my favorite location.

A few years ago I purchased eyeglasses and did not receive a call for pick up for a few weeks. I called and they had accidentally misplaced it, which was fine since it was my first visit. The optometrist visit went well and I appreciate the help Kerry from retail provided.Within these last few years of ordering contact lenses, I never received calls to pick them up. I would call the office to make sure that the contact lenses were ordered or incase they had forgotten to call. As a response, they had misplaced it or had the label fall off. Another unfortunate and minor detail was having the left and right contacts lenses mislabeled for the wrong eye.

Nice employees, super helpful and make sure to assist you right away! They make sure to help you ASAP but wont make you feel rushed. Ive gone a couple of times for new lenses and theyre very helpful.

So looks like the Dr. I use to go to who work her left, and the practice was bought out. I called in not knowing my Dr had moved and needed contacts since my glasses had gotten damaged and I couldnt really wait for contacts to come in the mail. The STAFF was amazing. They fit me in even though I didnt have an appointment, explained to my what happened since none of my records were there, my old Dr. Took them with her. They were great! Thank you again for getting me in and I will be back!

After trying several big name places around Tacoma for eye glasses, I settled on Pearle Vision. This was the first place I went to that took the time to educate me on fit! I had bought frames elsewhere and didnt realize they didnt fit the bridge of my nose properly until the staff here showed me how glasses should fit. Made sense, as the frames I purchased elsewhere left deep marks on my skin. Which made me wonder if that salesperson didnt see how ill fitting they were when he sold them to me or if he just didnt care, but I digressed, so back to the awesome experience at PV. Not only were they knowledgeable, but I could also tell they know what styles fit which faces by the frames they pulled out for me to try on. And they were so honest about the way the frames looked... it didnt feel like all they wanted to do was make a sale and get me out of there. Great place, great service!

Alan is amazing, helped me find a great pair of glasses, I tried on 30 plus. Hes honest and very knowledgeable. I tried everywhere else an not one had someone like him to assist. Best service Ive had in 25yrs of eyeglass purchases. All my interactions with other employees were equally as pleasant.

I have been going there for years, including my family. I had just picked up 1 years worth of contact lenses, tried on a pair, for some reason the brand I received irritated my eyes, so I asked to exchange them for a different brand. I was told that since I’ve opened the box, I wasn’t able to return/exchange them, and I needed another eye exam. I find that ridiculous, if my insurance was charged, and the contact lenses didn’t work for me, I should be able to exchange them! My family and I will not be returning.

When I walked in, everyone greeted me without hesitation. I came here a few days ago solely to browse and this young lady by the name of Jessica or Jasmine approached me offering her services. The young lady initially seemed bored to death and unhappy at her desk but she is the most sweetest upfront gal I have ever met. She gave me truthful opinions on glasses and didnt care to let me down gently, which I appreciated very much. Nichole was also very knowledgeable. Not many people will give you truthful answers, especially many eye places because they just want you to buy buy buy. If you need honest and straightforward opinions, this is the place to go.

Without getting into details, I was very disappointed with my eye exam. Mr. Shane Durrant not shown on the website was not easy to talk to. I wish I had used my annual visit elsewhere. Ask for someone else!

I highly recommend this place. I’ve never been here before but I had a eyeglasses emergency (and on New Year’s Eve no less), the ladies here took me in with no questions asked. Dr. Nguyen is, hands down, the best optometrist I have ever had. Dr. Nguyen was able to assess my vision and educate me about my vision and the process quickly and with the best customer service. On top of the excellent service I received, I was incredibly inspired to hear that they provide wonderful services to the community as a whole.

Ty has as some customer service!! I wanted to stick close to the budget my insurance covered and not for a second did he make me feel cheap or rushed. The office is very clean and organized and would hands down recommend to the rest of my co workers for their hospitality. I told Ty I will definitely return just for his patience and the whole experience he made sure I had.

Dr. Nguyen is fast and efficient. She explains everything and answered all my questions.The Pearle Vision sales associates are fabulous!! They have all been so helpful each time Ive come in. They arent pushy and take their time helping with each customer. Shaelyn was my sales associate, and she was fantastic!! She helped me pick out my frames, and has made sure they fit great. She always has a smile and so helpful. My glasses came in in about 1 week and Ive had to go in for adjustments due to never wearing glasses before. She has been patient and kind. Ive had a very positive experience and will definitely be back year after year.

Got my first pair of glasses here recently and Wendy is amazing! Honest, to the point, very personable and friendly! Made my expierence quick and easy and remembered who I was after our appointment!

I have been here once. It was really nice experience coming here, but I felt like someone was always trying to upsell me. I was told to do some type of eye exam because they seen something in a scan. Come to find out it was nothing, like I already knew. Then I called to order contacts through them and I received different cost amounts everytime I called and I mean it was a huge cost differents like $100 plus. So I went online and got a year supply for the 3rd of cost they charged for a 6 month supply (same brand and everything) Also, I was going to provide my own frames for them to put lens in them. Brand new Burberry frames that were a gift. I was told immediately that if they break during an install they are not responsible. First off, if you break frames while putting lens in them then you have no business being a lens crafter. So that was a no go. When I called today to set an appointment, the lady answered the phone asked me how could she help, and then started talking to someone else while I was on the phone. After I stated that I wanted to schedule an eye exam, she placed me on a long hold. I just hung up and called another provider! You guys are not the only eyecare people in Pierce county, you have three strikes with me. You wont be getting my business anymore.

I got my eye exam done here and purchased my glasses. Kerry was fantastic and I would highly recommend working with her! She gave excellent suggestions and I love my new glasses.Edit: came back here for my yearly new glasses and they took great care of me once again. Kate was awesome! Kerry was present but I didnt work with her. She did remember me though which is amazing considering it had almost been a whole year. Highly recommend this place! Ive never had a bad experience here and I always recommend friends and family here.Edit 2:The new eye doctor is absolute trash and his team doesnt disclose all you have to pay up front. They will send you a bill in the mail because your insurance doesnt cover everything. Do your job right and tell me up front. I wont be coming back. Hope the $30 was worth it. Lucky for me it wasnt more. Zero trust in their ability to do their job. Im unsure how you can call my insurance and see what they cover and tell me one thing and then bill more. Thats predatory.The pearlevision side of it where you get your frames is still fantastic. No qualm with them. They were able to accurately tell me what my insurance covered.

I just want to say this was my first pair of glasses and I was nervous as well as inexperienced but I was helped by an amazing lady that walked me through my benefits and my selection. I am extremely happy with my glasses, definitely recommend this place for stellar customer service.

I had a great experience with pearl vision they had a mixup with one of my glasses Alan assisted me and went above and beyond if you need to go to Pearle vision asked for Alan and he will bend over backwards to make sure you’re happy and taking care of I highly recommend them specially Alan.

They are the best. Yea frame are a little price but their service was very good. From the front dest to the sales guy are rally nice and will help you out in everything and help you find the perfect glasss for you.

First time I came here was just about two years ago. Did not have an issue with the eye exam or eyekea. But the staff working in Pearle Vision were very snobby and treated me like I was dirt. About six months ago I needed to get my glasses repaired and same thing the staff at pearle were very rude.Today I went in for my eye exam. When the Dr. took me back he was asking about houses. I didn’t understand him and asked for clarification. He said that I wasn’t focused on the houses in the pre-test that the technician did. I said that I was and asked what the problem was. He said that the results were so different from last time that there is no way I was looking at them. At this point I told him he was fired and walked out. DO NOT CALL ME A LIAR!!!!I am so fed up with the arrogant snobby attitudes in this place. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

I had an eye exam done at the beginning of the month and I totally forgot to order contact lenses before I left. After a couple of weeks I developed a protein spot on my left contact lense. Hurt me all day long.I went in today and the wonderful lady at the front desk helped me order contacts and gave me a fresh pair of lenses to get me by until my order arrives. Sure 1800 contacts is sometimes convenient but I tell you what, I will only be getting my contacts and glasses from Pearle Vision from here on out. Their customer service is wonderful. Thank you pearle vision!!!!

DON’T GO HERE!!! WORST experience I’ve ever had. The EyeKea vision center is TERRIBLE! First off, took them 6 months to find the right contacts because they either “lost” my trial orders or simply forgot about it. Once I found the kind of contacts that worked for me, they sent me a final written prescription that was completely wrong with an entirely different brand in which I had never even tried! It was bad enough this happened once, but they sent FOUR wrong written prescriptions signed by the Dr.... How does this happen?!?! This could be very dangerous for someone as it would severely alter their vision, could cause eye damage or even cause someone to get into a car accident etc. They also someone “lost” my boyfriend’s eye exam results saying their computer crashed and that he would have to come in and pay for a new exam. Complete bullsh*t!!!! They never once apologized for any of their mistakes. Just to top it off, they NEVER answer their phone which is incredibly frustrating. I highly recommend going to the Puyallup location instead, they were 1000 times nicer and much more helpful!

My girlfriend went in yesterday and came home very upset. She has Aspergers and communicating with new people is very difficult for her. The eye doctor rushed her whenever she took a second to answer a question, then rushed her in and out and told her it was all due to “allergies.” Literally made her feel like her concerns were nothing. Because of his additude she was too nervous to mention she has autism which is what contributes to the light sensitivity. We were hoping to get an eye exam and find some form of sun glasses that would help. Will not be returning.

I had scheduled an appointment with this Pearl Vision and the day of my appointment, they told me I was not on the schedule and didnt know what happened. They were impossible to get ahold of, and would not return my phone calls or voicemails regarding my scheduling. They were unsympathetic that I was magically removed from the schedule and told me they were not available for weeks. I am very disappointed in the service at this location.
