We have had two great experiences with this optometry practice. Everyone we have interacted with has been helpful and caring. We have taken two small children (6 and 4) and they helped us navigate the interesting equipment and nervous kiddos with grace and kindness. And helped a very excited 6 year old pick out her first pair of glasses! Cannot say enough nice things about our time there.

I am very impressed with how fast the exam was by Dr. Shema. She saw my old prescription lenses, did my eye exam, quickly found my new 20/20 prescription lenses. It was professionally done quickly. She did her homework. The place has a wide selection of frames. I had Justin help me out finding the correct size for the Oakleys I wanted. He ordered a few of the frames so I can check different sizes but he knew right off the bat what size I needed. I recommend coming here to get your eye exam and frames. They are great people!

Dr. Sheema was helpful, kind, and quick! I was checked in, had an eye exam, a contacts evaluation, and contacts made in well under an hour. Parking was easy to find in the garage. Front desk staff was professional, courteous, and pleasant! Also, the office itself is beautiful- love the aesthetic.FYI, many of their frames are high-end, so they are on the pricey side if you buy glasses out of pocket.All that said, will be coming back to AIE - Dunn Loring and recommend it to others!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tessler since 2015 and keep going back every year — even after moving 30mins from the area — because she makes me feel heard and valued. My entire family and extended family started seeing her as their eye doctor because I wanted them to feel the way I did. I cannot explain how valued she makes you feel as a human being and her listening capability is phenomenal. It’s a blessing to have met her and keep her in my life as our family eye doctor.

I liked my whole experience at Associates In Eyecare- Dunn Loring branch. The place is very quiet and peaceful, staff is very professional, friendly and clear about every step. And, Dr. Alyssa Shema was extremely helpful and accurate in diagnosing my problem. Despite English is not my first language, she explained to me all details of my case in a simple way. After almost a week using the medicine she prescribed, I feel a big difference in my eyes. I cant thank her or the staff enough for the improvement I have these days. All the best!

They explain every step of the process making you feel comfortable. They don’t oversell, they want you informed about your eye care.

Dr. Teser is amazingly skilled! I have Keratoconus, and after getting surgery with Dr. Rubinfeld he recommended me to Dr. Teser for proper lens fitting. After seeing Dr. Teser and getting fitted for scleral lenses, my left eye which is normally 20/400 (legally blind) goes to 20/25, and my right eye goes from a ghosted vision 20/30 all the way to 20/15 vision! Dr. Teser said it is some of the best vision she has seen from a keratoconus patient wearing scleral lenses, but it is really all thanks to her hard work and diligence.She is also extremely knowledgable with all things eye care, being able to answer any questions you have about products, procedures, lenses, etc. She is very friendly, and you will quickly notice how hard she works to give her patients the best vision and comfortability in whatever lenses they require.

This is the best eye doctor I have ever been to! Dr. Teser clearly has a passion for her work, and is super empowering to her patients. I felt like I had choices, and some autonomy over my health care choices- and for me that’s really comforting. Everyone in the office seems to love their jobs and it’s a very positive atmosphere. I learned a lot of new things about eye health that I didn’t know before, and they have some pretty amazing technology available. There is a machine that tests eye pressure without touching your eye, and they were able to do my whole appointment without dilating, or touching my eyes. I cannot wait till my glasses order comes in!

Associates In Eyecare have always been so helpful to me whenever I come in! I had just moved to the area and had a pair of broken prescription glasses that I was pretty sure I could never wear again (that was the verdict other shops had given me)! But one stop at Associates In Eyecare and they were able to fix the limbs and I could wear them out of the store. The two receptionists were kind and patient with me and the workers in the back worked diligently on my glasses repair. I would highly recommend the store not just for their kindness and willing to assist their customers in all manners of particulars, but also for their beautiful offered brands that you have to check out! I had an excellent first appointment as a new patient here. I chose them because they were in-network on my vision plan, were close to my home and Dr. Tesers reviews were amazing. They did not disappoint. I received explanations about eye testing and conditions that had never been provided by previous doctors. They were also totally compliant with COVID-19 precautions. Ive come to Associates in Eyecare for nearly 4 years and am always impressed by how caring, friendly, and and knowledgeable everyone is. Its nice to go in and have the staff recognize me and say hello by name. The doctors always take the time to listen to all my issues and help me treat them.

Sarah, at the front desk, is always the best. She is professional, friendly, considerate and pleasant. The doctor we saw this time is the only reason why I have to give a low rating. Its Dr. Shema. I brought my daughter to see her. My daughter and I were waiting in the exam room when she came in. She didnt even look at me or talk to me at all, ignoring my existence, until I started to ask questions. Its odd.Here is the follow-up. The clinic representative called me right away after the comment was published and apologized what happened. Dr. Shema is new. I bet she will learn how to treat parents with respect even under stressful circumstance such as Corvid-19. Fair to say, Dr. Shema did treat my daughter professionally, and our prior experience with the clinic has been wonderful overall. So, I decide to change the rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Ill go ahead and add to the 5 star reviews...Dr. Teser was personable, professional, and very helpful. She gave me a trial pair of lenses in a new brand that was less expensive and a second pair in my old brand in case the new ones didnt work out. I didnt have to deal with the puff of air or my eyes being dilated due the advanced technology in use there. The office was clean, comfortable, and well-designed. And they offered free coffee, tea, and mints. Would absolutely recommend!

Avoided getting my eyes checked cause Im stubborn and refuse I need glasses. But Dr. Shema was great answering all my questions and making the experience very comfortable. The gentlemen helping me pick out a pair of sunglasses was very patient and professional. Just all around good crew.One thing to note, I typically use ZocDoc when scheduling appointments and they didnt show up for me so call to make sure they have availability and are in-network.

I recently went for my first eye exam at the Dunn Loring Office location. I was definitely nervous not know what the expect during my exam. The staff made sure to take time to explain everything to me before so that I would know what was going to happen. Sarah at the front deck was super patient! I had to call back several time to confirm which insurance plan I was going to use based on which had better benefits. Dr. Teser also was very detailed in her review of my exam and explained in great detail her observations from my exam. I essentially got a class in optometry! I am very glad that I found this place and would definitely recommend it to others! Super clean and cute office is an added bonus to the top care that I received.

My most favorite doctor in the world, and the only doctor I actually enjoy seeing. Previously being in the optics field (licensed optician) for more than 10 years, I can honestly say she is the best optometrist Ive ever known. I was first introduced to her in a close-to-emergency situation with nobody else to accept me as a patient. She took me in right away, and after fixing my infection, she opened my eyes to a better way to correct my post-RK vision issues. I havent had vision this good in over 20 years. She has literally changed my life. Thank you, Dr.Teser! Youre an angel!

Ive been wearing glasses for 20 years; Ive been in and out of many eye care providers. However, Ive never had such a consistently friendly and tailored customer service experience like I receive at Associates in Eyecare in Dunn Loring. From the doctor to the staff, the whole team is remarkably responsive and dedicated to going above and beyond what I expected. The facility is clean, the music is fun, the check-in and check-out processes are fast and easy, and the product costs are very reasonable. Theyve got a customer for life with me.

I found the support staff to be incompetent for simple reasons.Two negatives:1. I have a long Greek last name. When asked for my email address, I told the optician, Jose, it’s the first letter of my first name followed by my last name. Instead of spelling it out, I said to look on the credit card because that way is easier for both us. He managed to get that wrong.2. I called on 10 July at 2:44 pm for an update on a pair of glasses I ordered for my daughter on 21 June. The receptionist told me the glasses will arrive on 13 July and once they pass inspection, they will call me. This information turned out to be incorrect.On 17 July, I called for another update. This time I spoke with Jose. He told me the glasses I ordered were not available in white and they’ve been trying to get in touch for weeks. According to my phone records, they called on 21 June and made no other attempts. I explained what occurred the week prior (see number 2). He said he didn’t know who I spoke with and dismissed it.I asked him to tell me the number and email address they have on file. The number is correct, but the email address was incorrect (see number 1). They couldn’t leave a message because my voicemail box was full (my fault).Due to my experience, I requested a full refund and will take my business elsewhere.****UPDATE****The V.P. from their corporate office called and left a message on Friday. I returned the call today and she was fantastic. We went over my experience and I made a couple suggestions for improvement. I was surprised the corporation contacted me to try to rectify the situation. Quite a few businesses I’ve dealt with in the past often blame the customers or are unaccommodating, so I greatly appreciated the call.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tesers for many years now. I still go to her even after having relocated to Seattle, Washington. Luckily, I have to visit the DC area once a month for work. When you find a great optometrist, doctor, hairstylist, and veterinarian you just stick, and stay loyal with them no matter how far you have to travel. Its worth the peace of mind and their outstanding service. Also a plus is that shes an owner/big lover of dogs just like my wife and myself. The other staff members are equally as great. Very friendly, honest, helpful, and knowledgeable.

I picked Nicole from my provider network without any meaningful consideration other than proximity -- so I was expecting a rather garden variety experience. However, my experience with her was excellent, simply excellent. She was the consummate professional, knowledgable, personable, and very patient oriented. She answered all my questions, which I had a lot, without the slightest hint of reservation. I left feeling very comfortable and satisfied with the services provided. I bought a pair of glasses for ~$650 (frames + lenses) 2 months ago. I chose a pair of frames in store and they told me they would order the frame in another color I was interested in trying on. They assured me it was not a hassle and I saw it as great service that I attributed to the amount I was spending. They explained I would come in when they received the lenses, I would try both frames on, and leave with my preferred one. So I went ahead and made the purchase. One week later I went to the store to try on both frames. However, they only had the lenses and the frames that were already in the store. I then asked where the other frames were and I received a response of oh it hasnt come in yet and we will call you once it does. It felt very deceitful and was clear they never ordered the other frames. I still have not received a call that the frames came in 7 weeks later. It is clear they are nothing but salespeople that will lie to get you to make a purchase. I do not recommend making a purchase here.TLDR : They are deceitful salespeople that will lie to get you to make a purchase. They have a very nice selection of frames, but do yourself a BIG favor and go to Warby Parker 1 mile away in Mosaic. They will give you great service and have a very nice selection of frames for cheaper.Update :Associates in Eyecare gave me a call apologizing for the incident & offered store credit. Though I will not be going back, I appreciated the call. Also they responded to this review and called me the wrong name lol.

I had a pleasant contact lens exam from the moment I walked in. Dr. Teser is great and provides excellent explanations and answers to any questions you may have. I am glad I decided to try this place. While I did not purchase any glasses, I did notice that they have a very nice selection of eye glasses and sunglasses as well.

This is a lovely office! I was able to be squeezed in same day as the last appointment and on a Friday no less. Dr. Teser took the time to troubleshoot my problems with me and even had me try on several different contact brands. The office is gorgeous and all of the support staff are as professional and kind as Dr. Teser. On top of the fantastic service, no one will ever use that nasty air puff in your eyes. They have a different handheld device. I will be sending my husband over here for his vision needs too.

Dr. Teser is an amazing doctor. I used to be an optician, so Ive worked with many doctors in the past. I choose to go outside my insurance provider to continually see her, if thats any indication. I have an abnormally shaped cornea due to a previous surgery, and she fit me with custom scleral lenses that changed my life. No other doctor even suggested those, as they are difficult to fit. Dr. Teser got the fit right on the first try. She did this at the same time as successfully treating a dangerous infection in my other eye, which is how I came to be her patient in the first place...she had weekend hours. I think Ill be her patient for life.

I started my new job and my insurance was finally active so I decided to get more contacts and a new eye exam. I searched on my insurance companies website for a place close to my job and actually found this place that was right down the street within walking distance from my job.I went onto their website and scheduled an appointment request and the receptionist called me back to confirm the day and time that worked for my schedule. I went into the appointment with no expectations but for my eye exam and contact prescription but they went over and beyond anything I ever could imagine.first my appointment was for 530pm and their energy and customer service was off the charts like I was the first patient of the day. The receptionist was knowledgeable and answered all the questions that I had and even showed me their eyeglasses that they have on promotion for $95 for frames and lenses! I explained the depending on how much i would have to pay for the contacts I would look into getting a backup pair of glasses. Most the time this is where the sales pitch and pressure would come but nope.. which made me feel more at home and comfortable.Now time to go back for the exams. The receptionist lead me back and did a couple of eye test then I went into the room to meet Dr. Teser and She was absolutely amazing! She gave me information got to know me personally.. we have many laughs and she showed me the picture of my eyes and gave me all sorts of information. She then proceeded to give me information about which contacts she thought would be best based upon the information that I gave her. She took me to a desk where she brought out the samples and I tried them on and not only could I see but man I couldnt even tell i had contacts in my eyes unlike my old ones that didnt breath at all.I am setting at my desk at work right now and have had zero problems with these contacts in the last 24 hours. I proceeded to go ahead and order the contacts she suggest before i left last night and low and behold they actually at them in stock with no waiting. They even told me about a rebate the contact company had going on that would save me money and are filling out the paperwork for me to mail into the company for the rebate... how amazing is that.Because of the rebate i am getting I will be able to go back next week and get the glasses as a back up and absolutely love this office. I wish I could find someone with the same great customer service and care of their patience in a dentist office or primary care doctor. Sucks I can only come back once a year.Great jobs guys you have gained a loyal customers and even came back to my office to tell everyone about you all!

Before even arriving, they checked my insurance benefits and gave me a quote for how much my out of pocket expenses might be for an eye exam. Dr. Teser and the staff at Associates in Eyecare are very informative, helpful, and friendly. Dr. Teser examination is thorough and efficient, and you can tell that she loves her job. The selection of glasses that they have are quite stylish, and I am confident that with their help I purchased the best frames for my face, fashion sense, and function. Had my first appt with Dr. Teser yesterday and I have to say it was the best eye doctor experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to a lot. I have a pretty significant astigmatism and often times struggle with finding contacts that provide me with clear vision. Dr. Teser provided me with a thorough exam and explained exactly what was going on with my eyes and how she was going to correct my vision. Additionally she answered a bunch of questions that I had and provided me with her honest opinion. I highly recommend Dr. Teser, especially if you struggle with your vision like I do.

What can I say that hasn’t been said already. Here is a little background on my experience:I am an army reservist( NG) and I recently failed the vision screening during a health assessment. The results bothered me because I have never had issues with vision, and yes I know at 37, the physical body isn’t what it use to be.With that being said, I scheduled a full eye exam at the nearest office to my home, which would be Dr. Tesser and her staff at Associate Eye Care at Dunn Loring.I could not have asked for a more informative and pleasurable experience. I didn’t feel pressured for additional services nor did I feel as though I was being talked down to!I am very happy with my decision and can’t wait for my next eye exam next year.😂😂😂.For the record, my vision was pretty much 20/20 with a slight astigmatism due likely to computer strain( work hazard😂😂), so I was given a prescription for computer glasses, which Dr. Tesser Stressed was recommended, not required. I am getting me some glasses😂I really can’t say enough about how awesome Dr. Tesser and her staff are! Dr Teser and her staff are superb. I first began consulting with Dr. Teser about 3 years ago regarding a serious issue I had with my eyes. She is a caring. proactive Dr. and her staff are also excellent. I highly recommend Dr. Teser, she is totally committed to finding the best solutions for her patients, and helped me understand what were the best treatment options for me. You are never just a number with Dr. Teser, but are treated like a real patient!
