MyEyeDr in Vienna is conveniently located near our house and provides decent service with good availability. The front desk warmly greeted us, the nurse explained item needs extra copay before proceeding, and the doctor is professional. After the exam, we got the detailed info regarding our exam in timely manner. No rush or up sale. In general we had good experience in our visit. The only thing I wish they could improve is the waiting time. Apparently the doctor was over booked on Saturday morning. Our appointment was 10:30, but we waited 25 minutes to see the doctor.
Have been here before but its been a while. Went to merrifield location out of desperation but had a horrible experience there (misinformation and poor service). Ended up canceling my appt and walking out. Called Vienna location while sitting in my car near merrifield and was provided with helpful Info from Natalie (contact lens dept?) Who probably gave me more info than my insurance company gave me! Will be going here next!
Dr. Emami has been assisting me navigate my eye health for the past year during the pandemic, with increased screen time and the direct results therefrom. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable and always makes me feel comfortable. Garrett is amazing and helped me select frames in record time (knowing I was on a tight schedule) and based upon his knowledge of the types of lenses I needed, the frames that would work effectively, I found 4 pairs that were perfect! I appreciate the MyEyeDr. folks!
We have been going to this location since it first opened in Vienna and have been super happy with the superior customer services we received. The entire office is very warm, pleasant and professional. We have been working with Irene ever since she joined the team and have only great things to say about her. She is always ready and willing to go beyond her call of duty to help our familys visual needs with a big smile on her face. She makes each of our visits so enjoyable that we feel as if its an annual visit with a family member instead of a doctors office. We have recommended friends and neighbors to this office and Irene has taken great care of them as well. Thank you Irene, Dr. Cassella and the entire staff at the Vienna Office!
Dr. Cassella is absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and so helpful! Explained everything well and did a thorough exam.
While the staff are friendly and try to be helpful in fixing problems they are unable to do so sadly. I went in on November 10 to do my annual eye test and update my lenses and have had to return my glasses three times now because their lab is unable to cut lenses properly or attach them to frames properly. Fast forward to February 13 and I received the third attempt to get the glasses right and sadly this is also unacceptable with the lenses loose and not secure to the frame. The management here need to consider using professional labs and not the amateur lab they’ve been using. Sadly I will have to go elsewhere going forward and pay a higher price elsewhere because MyEyeDr can’t even do the simplest task of cutting lenses and installing them, not can their labs.
Unprofessional and will not be returning. Came in for a basic eye exam covered by my insurance for a contact lens prescription. As part of their basic examination, they charge a $27 fee for a retina screening, that is not covered by insurance. They did not tell me about this part of the examination or the associated fee. I had to ask if this was part of the basic exam covered by my insurance and found out it was not; I opted out of that part of their examination. Additionally, while checking out the associate was very pushy about me buying contact lenses from their store, asking how many contact lenses I have left before I run out, how much I pay for contact lenses from Costco, and telling me that my benefits will expire if I dont buy lenses from her now.The extra fees they tried to charge for their basic eye exam should be told to the patient upfront BEFORE they agree to the examination. While I understand that a business needs to profit, the experience I had here was unprofessional and felt dishonest.
I have been seeing dr Cassellas for 3 years now and very pleased, he takes time to listen to you and answer all questions, explain everything, and doesnt rush you at al. All staff are friendly and pleasant.
Natalia Store manager, never ordered my daughters glass that was urgent and never followed up.. The customer service to get the glasses was TERRIBLE.
Nathalie was very professional and helped me pick the right glasses! Highly recommend
I have no problem with the eye doctor. He was caring and thorough. Then I ordered new glasses and things went downhill. My original appointment was in December 2019. I picked up the new glasses in the first week of January 2020 after I called to see if they were ready. One of the lenses had a small chip which they acknowledged and said they would order a new one. I had paid for the replacement insurance as well. I had a follow up appt with the doctor end of January and complained I couldn’t see out of the new glasses. He confirmed the prescription (which I agree with since I have sunglasses with the same prescription that I love) and told the fitters to readjust the glasses. They adjusted the lens positioning enough I could see better, and I was still waiting for the new lens, so I left. I had surgery in mid-Feb, the new lens was not in right before then. Mid-March when I called the new lens was in. I went to have it installed and they had ordered the wrong lens and had to order another one. Pandemic hit, which was not their fault. I broke the glasses over Memorial Day. I saw they were reopened early June. I called to see if they were open to get them fixed. The person I spoke with noticed the lens was on order and said rather than fixing the old glasses I could just order a new pair under warranty and that would be faster than waiting for the replacement lens. I agreed. End of July when I called about the new glasses there was no record of a new pair being ordered and the replacement lens order had been cancelled. They ordered a new replacement that day, or so they said. It is now end of August and I am still waiting. The thing that sets me off even more is not once during this time have they reached out to me with any status updates. They apparently only text and the phone they have for me is a landline. It took three visits to get them to put that number in their system in place of a number that was 10 years old. UPDATE It is Sept 2 and I just am back from picking up the replacement glasses. I can actually see out of these, much better than the old pair which was the same prescription. If only it hadn’t taken so long to get there.
Be careful to verify what your insurance covers. If there is ever a question about what your insurance is able to cover, and there’s a dispute about the price of a product, I would advise calling your insurance directly. The sales people are professional and attentive, but may not always have the right information. My advice, call your insurance before accidentally overpaying for a product
Very professional group. Been going to Dr Cassella for years. Hes very knowledgeable and personable. Very understanding if you lose your contacts. They can get you replacements until your next appointment if you need. Accommodating if certain contacts dont fit/feel right. Takes most insurances.
Excellent service. The staff was professional and helpful, and the facility was clean. Thank you!
I had an excellent experience at the Vienna MyEyeDr. Kevin worked with me to find both distance glasses and readers that fit into my budget and looked good as well. Great personality, very patient - just superb customer service all around. Front desk check-in staff were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Kevin is amazing ! He spent an hour helping my mom find the perfect pair of glasses. He was very helpful and patient. I highly recommend everyone to go see him.
Simple and quick. I appreciate that they take any insurance and can make an appointment for the next day. Prices are reasonable, too.
The people work here are extremely unprofessional. All they want is to trick you to buy their contacts and new glasses. I have been wearing contacts for many years. The doctor there recommended me this better brand contacts compared to the brand I had. They were extremely uncomfortable. After I told them that I will not get them for one years prescription, because they hurt a lot. They had me try another one which they told me is exactly the same price, same brand and bi-weekly disposable, but I can feel the second one is thinner. The doctor then explained to me that the second one is 2-week disposable.(The first one I had on is also 2-week disposable. They treated me like an idiot. )They would give you very sketchy description like this type will fit you better. (They probably charge you the maximum amount they can and let you try the worst kind of contacts first from the same brand. That is why the price is always the same.) And no one ever tells you what exactly is the difference. I will never go to this place again!
I wish I could give them no star but since the dr was polite I would give them a star. I needed my contacts and visited this place. They told me they take my insurance, when I asked them for I pay cost and the cost of the visit.. after checking for my vision.. taking pictures and everything.. the doctor told me they are giving me daily contacts for a year.. made me try them on.. they were so uncomfortable.. made me wanna blink like crazy.. those were cost of $500 but $300 of mail in rebate cost.. after complaining about the daily contacts being so uncomfortable.. she changed my contacts to two weeks contacts.. they were little less than the daily one.. in the end.. even with my insurance.. my total cost of the visit was $392.00!!!! Contacts were 240, with three different exams.. they cost $577 and my insurance covered 250. Ive never paid this much for an eye exam with contacts.. would never EVER visit this place again. My two weeks contacts might have to be used for two months at this cost!!!!
The Vienna office has a very calm and happy ambience. Dr. Casella is very knowledge, patient, polite and professional. He always gives details during his exam. The staff embody the same spirit, and are always very resourceful and accommodating. Have recommended this place to many family & friends, and will continue to do so.
The physicians are very nice and knowledgeable, but their service is lacking. I was told Id be getting a discount on my glasses. When they gave me the bill of sale, i noticed there was no discount. Even after the discount was applied the glasses were still very expensive. Then, after i called them, i was told that my glasses were not ready to be picked up after the 10 days they said they would take to be ready, with little more than a eh, sorry. Plus they charge 9% sales tax in the town of Vienna. Ill never use my eye doctor again.
5 out of 5 stars from us. Today I had my teenage daughter (14 years old) getting first time contact lenses. She was nervous and scared. The entire store’s team encouraged her, made her laugh, and their patience was definitely way better than mine, hahaha. After almost an hour and a half trying to put her lenses on, she finally did it and the entire team cheered and clapped for her. The doctor rechecked her eyes and suggested to change the initial brand since it was not a good fit for her and he wanted to make sure she will feel comfortable during the entire day wearing them. Thank you for everything!
I went here because they assured me over the phone they could have my glasses made the same day. This was pretty important because Im on crutches recovering from surgery, and if I cant see I cant walk safely. Four days later, I finally got the glasses. In the time in between they were uncommunicative and disorganized; finally assuring me at the end of the first day that they would have the glasses first thing in the morning, then not having them when I went by the store that afternoon. They said they wouldnt even have them until the NEXT day, but said they would drop them by my home that evening evening (which was really an awesome thing of them to offer), but then that day they never showed up and never called to let me know (not so awesome). When I went to the store the fourth day they didnt have a word of explanation or apology, although the people are very nice. As for the glasses themselves theyre fine, albeit at least twice as expensive as other prices I found the first day I was looking (apples-to-apples comparison of scratch resistant lenses). The only reason I went with this outfit was the other ones said they couldnt have them ready until the next day. That still would have been two times faster, and half the cost.
Two years in a row they messed up my glasses. They seem to have issues getting the glasses ordered and delivered correctly. I even asked while in the office to make sure they included transitions and was assured that the order was correct only to wear them home and find out that they did not order transition lenses. Im done with MyEyeDr after two years of having to back multiple times to have my glasses corrected.
Great experience. Friendly and honest. I never felt as if they were trying to force me to buy anything. Dr. Cassella is a true gentlemen. Highly recommend!
The actual doctor is nice and attentive. The staff however is trained to charge every amount they can with junk fees for the exam. I came to this practice a few years ago and provided my insurance information. They charged me one price. Fast forward a few years later - they change their insurance policy and never inform you of what exact charges would no longer be covered. For one eye exam that could have been $65 at Costco without insurance these people want to charge $145 with insurance for the exact same exam! When they are selling you glasses they can easily knock the price down but once they have your credit card information its non-negotiable. Sounds like a scam and a rip-off. Save your money and go to Costco instead.
Dr. Cassella is the BEST! Knows his stuff AND is great with his patients. The staff was very friendly, helpful and polite.
I am only giving this place two stars since the doctor was polite. However this place tries to get every penny out of you never paid so much for a contact exam. I wish I had time to put everything in this review but I dont so Ill just say I never be going to this place again
If I could give zero stars MyEyeDr would get it. Extremely unprofessional, rude, and insulting to customers.
Eddy was so helpful in refitting my sunglasses after a year of not very gentle use. Thanks!
Both my wife and I get are glasses here and were very happy with the service and selection of frames.
I called and was talking to a gentleman, I inquired a time for a certain day and he asked if I would mind waiting a minute. Obviously I said that was fine and then he hung up and when I tried to call back an automated message said the store was closed.
Everything that is wrong with healthcare in US. Waited for 30 minutes there for them to verify my insurance, which covers both glasses and year supply of contacts. Now I get billed for contact... Sorry, you have to pay and ask for reimbursement. They constantly upsell, wont give you your prescription, try to sell you glasses on the spot, like car salesman pressure sales tactics. Horrible experience, more than once. Last time I ever used them.
I would leave 0 stars if that was an option. This place and the entire My Eye Dr company is a joke! Ive been wearing prescription glasses since middle school and have never had an issue getting glasses. The staff is initially nice while they upsell you on everything. I initially went here because their call center told me I could get sunglasses the same day. I was told it would take 5 days when I ordered them. My first pair of sunglasses was a week late getting in and anytime I called to check in on them, the person on the phone was rude. I finally got them and was so excited to pick them up. I tried them on and my vision was a bit off. I was told that it was just the difference between glasses and sunglasses plus the polarization. I was being fitted and kept telling the guy that they were too loose. He eventually said, well theyre REALLY BIG sunglasses. I eventually left. I wore them that day and it was becoming more clear that prescription was incorrect and the sunglasses wouldnt even stay on my face because they were so loose. I go to a location closer to me in South Riding where Rosie said that the prescription or pupil point was incorrect. She also immediately noted that I had to hold the sunglasses on with one of my hands. She also said that the reason I was getting sunglasses would mean a smaller frame would be most helpful so she had me pick out another pair. I had to go to the location in Sterling to find the same brand as the one I bought in Vienna. From here I have an initial pick up date two weeks out. No one calls me to give me an update or anything. I call and they say that the pair was made and was damaged and didnt pass inspection so they had to send them back and start all the way over. Again, two weeks later I get no call, no update and I call to check. I call several times and Rosie was supposed to call me back. She did not so I called her back. The sunglasses didnt pass inspection and they have to start all the way over. At this point I am still out nearly $500 and have no sunglasses. There were no apologies and certainly no empathy for my situation and at this point Im doubting that Ill ever get a quality pair of sunglasses. The manager said that he spoke with the manager, Chris, at the vienna location and that they can make me a temporary pair until mine come in and said chris would be calling me to make arrangement. Chris never calls. They finally get in another two weeks later. Rosie fits me for them and I also spoke with their manager about how displeased Ive been with their services. I was honestly very polite but felt it was important to address. From here, Im told that if there was any money that needed to be reimbursed that I would have to do that at the Vienna location. I call Vienna and after going round and round with the receptionist, I get on the phone with Chris who seems he has no idea about me or my situation even though Ken from south riding supposedly spoke with him. Chris says I have the exact same pair as the first pair so there is no refund. I assured him they were different sunglasses. He quite obviously could not care less but says hell look into in and call me back. He never does. So I go back to Ken at south riding who says hell speak with Christ. He called me several days later to assure me that Chris agreed I deserve a refund for the difference and that I would have my refund check in one week. It has been three weeks and still no check. I also stopped in at south riding and left a message for Ken a week ago. He has never called me back. My sunglasses are ill fitting and I have never experienced such poor customer service. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but MyEyeDr. Anywhere.
I went to my eye dr location in Vienna last year and got my eye exam done. I wanted transition lenses and received them within a week only to find out that they made me polarized lenses rather than transition ones . I also paid for anti-glare coating. I didnt purchase the 20 dollar protection plan. They corrected their mistake and when I started wearing the transition glasses I used to notice a bright glare in the right lense. I went to them couple of days later and they ordered replacements. However, the coating started to come off from the bottom of the lenses within 2 months of use. I again went to them and they ordered a new one. The new one also started to show the same sign of coating coming off within two months and when I went to the store, they said they cant do anything now since I didnt purchase the protection plan. The technician said that the coating coming off might be due to the polishing. My eye dr should fix their process to make transition lenses. For me getting the lenses made at this location was a complete waste of money (I paid around 250 after insurance). I will never recommend my eye dr till they fix their process. Will never return to them. Not even worth one star.
Business model of myeyedr is to keep the patient in house, perform additional services and charge excessive amounts for everything they do.During the eye exam they always add retinal photography, even for children (for whom this service is neither medically necessary nor ever covered by insurance) for about $40 extra. They used to at least formally ask whether you want the service (and push back hard if you refused) but on the most recent visit (of my children) they did not ask, and simply added it to the bill.Once the eye exam is over, personnel ushers patient to the sales room and uses the usual bag of tricks to sell the most expensive set of frames and lenses possible. Getting prescription from them to take it to a 3rd party is not easy and frowned upon.Their contact lens prices are unimaginably high, completely out of tune with any reasonable market price. As with glasses, they will do everything they can to upsell a complete package and keep the patient from going to a cheaper source. On the positive side, the dr. is nice and friendly (hence they get 1 star and not 0). However, he is clearly very much in on the scheme.
The worst experience ever, they are bad with their appointments and has no respect for time and no respect for customer
Bobby provides superlative guidance and professionalism throughout the entire process.
Very very inefficient in handling cusyomers requests, orders & billing !!! Could have given them a -ve if that button was available. Stay away!!!!
Very pleased with the quality of eye exam, selection of glasses and service. Three years now.
It’s way too expensive 😒 just got to Walmart or somewhere else .
Its not worth for the high price that they charge. I paid extra 250 dollars for my glasses and the quality is very bad. I will not recommend my eye doctor to anyone.
