My original rating of 2 stars was for my online experience also with the call center. 5 stars however for the manager and staff. Liz is awesome and provides legendary customer service.
Five Stars for this locations service and attentiveness. Id add a sixth star for the property manager Liz, Michelle, and the other employees whove assisted me. Additional corporate investment in the property, particularly regarding increased security cameras, would be comforting and appreciated.
This place is great! Ive been a customer off and on for 20 plus years and this location is the best. Liz is amazing. She went out of her way to even get me a loyalty discount. Who does that? I am grateful for her and Michelle. They are the best at what they do. Thanks again girls. You are truly the best!

Terrible. Disgusting. Violated. Infuriating. These are words I use to describe my experience at this storage unit. About 3-4 months after moving my personal belongings and family heirlooms into this storage unit, it was burglarized and infested with rats. Ill describe my nightmare below:About 3-4 months after we got the unit, we entered it as we normally did. The lock was in tact (photo below), and from the outside there was nothing out of the ordinary. (Note: Public Storage requires that you use THEIR locks. This is part of how they profit from you).Once we entered, however, we discovered that the contents of the unit were disheveled, disorganized, and toppled over (photo below). The unit was covered in rodent feces, urine, and fur.It took me a while to discover that my belongings had been stolen. Out of the things that were stolen included a $450 inflatable kayak, $200 air compressor, $1000 trumpet, my grandfathers tools (est. $200 worth), my $200 drill/driver set, and probably a few other things that I havent accounted for yet. (Note: make a register of things you store before you store them). I reported the burglary to Federal Way Police, and they indicated that since no suspect was suggested that I simply file a report with my storage insurance company and call it a day. This Public Storage location apparently has issues with transients booking a storage unit and trespassing into nearby units to burglarize them of their valuables. This is plausible, given that the storage units have a 1.5 ft tall hole between the units near the ceiling of the unit (shown below).We believe that the burglary was either the doing of transients or employees of Public Storage. There was no damage to the lock... so if it was entered from the front, it must have been someone with a key. (Note: the only keys were mine and Public Storages).Anyway... besides the burglary: the entire unit was covered in rat feces, urine, and fur. There was even an entire rat carcass nested within the unit (photo shown below). Books, blankets, furniture, clothing... All of this covered in rat excrement.Tell me: how you would feel seeing the majority of your earthly belongings and family heirlooms either stolen or covered in rat excrement?This storage unit was a nightmare. Do not ever consider storing your belongings here. I would have rather thrown them in the garbage than pay $110/mo to have them stolen and infested with vermin.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience here. I was helped by Liz and she was so professional and friendly it was an absolute joy. I needed a storage quickly and she made sure I was taken care of and it didn’t break the bank. I will definitely send anyone I know here if they ever need storage.
I am so thrilled with the service I have been receiving at this particular location on 32615 Pacific Highway South. In particular I would like to thank Liz and Bob for being so congenial, helpful and just downright charming. I am always going to tell friends about how great this place is. I am very happy to have my things in storage here and it is close to my home too!!

The price is the best around. we had a little problems getting into the elevator with our code however before we could even go tell someone they were down there helping us. Its clean well lit. its gated and you can use an app to open the gate instead of a code both going in and out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. even with having our little problem with our code they were right on top of it and friendly and thats why Im giving it five stars instead of four.

I just rented a Storage here onlineI been trying to get to get to my storage for Two days now and Gate has a sign that you Cant even read. I could barely understand that says the new business hours. So I went before they close. And Still NO One at the office & gate with the same sign blocking the pin pad !!How can I reach my storage unit??!
I just want to say that Michelle in the public storage unit in Federal Way, went way ABOVE & BEYOND anything I could had ever expected! She was extremely kind, generous, completely understanding & a SUPER sweetheart!! I am BEYOND happy that I was able to deal w/ her when it came down to the fixing of my account & I hope in the future that she is the ONLY one I get to deal with bc she is ABSOLUTELY amazing! While renting here (~11 months) I experienced 2 break-ins at my storage unit as well as gate access breaking down multiple times.The storage unit I had was was located inside the climate controlled area of the storage center. During the first break in the staff and management team was VERY unhelpful and did not care about improving security at Public Storage to prevent further thefts.After the 2nd break in, the management staff (recently changed) was very involved in improving the security around Public Storage.Beware of this location! Although the staff is now more engaged in security, I will not rent with any Public Storage location in the future.
I was renting units at different places..but this one is the worst..they have storage manager Liz who screams at people..using bad words..i am a Veteran and dont think i deserve it....
I had to get a last minute storage unit because of reason and Liz was very helpful with the process. She was very clear and concise when going over my options. I was able to paint the picture with how much stuff I had and she was able to give me the best options that would save me money. The whole process took no more than 15 minutes. Thank you Liz!

I set my storage unit up last month and was having issue with some things regarding location and size and pricing etc. Steve was the guy that help me setup and accommodated me fully and found a promo to get me started. When I lost my key the locksmith damaged the door and I thought I was in for some $$ and I was leaving town the next day. It was totally accommodating once more with the same guy. I think he my be a manager or something because Ive been very happy with the service and support so far! I highly recommend this place and working with Steve. Thanks Again for all the help!!

I found staff to be kind and efficient. Space was clean and ready. Could not take advantage of the storage being open till 9pm due to no lighting or power what so ever. Due to that I had to rent my uhaul for a second day, so the discount on my unit was eaten up and increased because I had to pay for an extra day for my uhaul and hotel.
Very professional and easy to use. Everyone was friendly and made it simple for us to move in. Great value as well!
Had a reservation to arrive n the 26th for my unit, showed up with the movers and a 26 full truck prepared to unload it. Got there to find the whole place shut down by the police and fire marshall because of a death. No phone calls, nothing. Had to find another place quickly. Still waiting for my money back too.After a lot of run around, phone calls and hearing lots of excuses STILL NO RETURN OF PAYMENT! The one lady in the office is something else too.. 😳
Public storage, 32615 Pacific Hwy S, Federal Way, WA 98003. Communication with costumers from new staff are the worst I have experienced in my years of renting at this location. Suggestion take it or not to improve service, introduce yourself to costumers if your new, acknowledge business history with costumers, please talk like a normal person and not approach costumers showing higher Authority. We go through so much in life and I was in the middle of moving to a new place. Put costumers in consideration of where they coming from as long as no one break rules that will hurt them . Talk to costumers nicely and not up front on there face coming at them right away. Please, change your attitude, you will lose business that way. You lost mine and for sure some more. I would STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION if they dont change there staff.

Gate is broken and employees decided to not come in to work today. Moving across the state and need our property. We have appts to keep and looks like well miss them because they cant be bothered to show up or keep the gate operating.

I got a storage unit a couple of years ago. It was a decent price at first. But the rate keeps going up and up.Im not willing to continue paying this overpriced rent, so I just went to my unit for the first time in over a year to start moving stuff out, and found some rat droppings all over my stuff and see at least one box chewed up by rats... And there is no food anywhere in my unit.Update 11/24/18: I came to move some stuff out and found more rat droppings along with a dead rat.

They bring you in with the dollar for the first month but with all the fees it end up being 60 something dollars and then I couldnt get a truck to move out on the first so I had to move out on the 2nd and now they want to charge me $261. They claim they do not prorate so you $261 for a one day stay for the new month. I am going to go check and see if they rented out my storage, if so, I am do not want to pay them, and if I dont, it goes on my credit.

Reserved a storage unit on the web, very smooth transaction. Lisa followed up with me immediately and was very friendly. When I arrived at the location after driving a moving truck across the country, I was greeted by Shari. She was very friendly and accommodating and got me right into the space I had reserved. Im not one to write reviews because I tend to get the exact service I pay for. With that said, I lucked out today. Times have been a financial struggle, especially being self employed and coming off of a huge loss off of a big investment.I walked in today to pay for my storage unit to find that the big bosses were at this location. My original fee was 322 and some change and my unit was scheduled to be put up for auction. I brought 325 with me. Which was literally all I have left. The late fees piled up and came out to almost 350.I asked if there was any way to get it waived. Ariel, who was very nice about it instructed me on how to go about through the proper channels when Devin stepped in. The big boss and gave immediate approval. It was such a relief. Out of all the times Ive utilized the services of Public Storage at multiple locations (prior military), this was by far my best experience with these guys.Thank you so much for having a heart and working with me during struggling times.

The employees there were very helpful with explaining the service and items they offer to people wanting to store their belongings there. The location was clean and I would recommend this location for storage needs. I have spoken with Tiffany she was courteous and helpful.On another occasion I was helped by Lori she was understanding to my issue with my late charge and referred me to Chuck Williams (Manager). Ive been renting a unit here for about a year and a half. The staff is friendly. The problem is that the gate has been broken 3 or 4 times during this time period and they only stay open when there is an associate present if the gate is down. They dont send out a text or anything. The first time this happened was literally my moving day. I got off of work, loaded up my car, and showed up and the gate was locked just after 6. I literally had to move all of my belongings into my friends garage and then move it into my storage unit on the weekend (in the snow) when I was available during hours where an employee would be here to have the gate open. This has happened several times since. Currently, Im sitting in the parking lot absolutely furious. I got here at 6:13pm on a Friday to pick up my gear for a multi-day kayaking adventure and the gate is locked and there is a paper sign saying its broken again. If they had sent a text or something informing people, I would have been able to come over on my lunch break and grab my gear. I have been planning this trip for weeks and Im absolutely heartbroken. Theres not even a customer service line you can reach after 6. This is absolutely unacceptable.

I made an appointment online and they directed me to a different location. This is my first time renting a storage space. Britney behind the counter knew that I was not 100% comfortable and sure of what I needed. she asked me a few questions and directed me to the Federal Way location which met everyone of my needs and was a much better fit. Rather than making the quick and easy sale she truly went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed and wanted. When I came into Federal Way Steven help me and it was an overall amazing experience.
This was our first time getting a storage unit and Ashley and Ami made it an easy, pleasant and comfortable experience. The process and guidelines were explained clearly and comprehensively and all our questions and concerns were resolved. Ashley even gave us some extra tips to keep in mind for future use. Rented a unit here. No security weeks at a time due to broken gate. Then limited access all after rent had been raised. The one good thing about this location are their employees. Stephen the manager did the best he could with what the company did. Everyone in the office are good people.

Constantly raise prices and has varmint problems. Their insurance of 250 bucks no where comes close to the damage done to my belongings. 350 bucks a month for a 10 x 20 space should be free of pests.

1. Please make sure that you carefully review your contracts. Your rent goes up with little notice. Id say my rent went up 2 times in a year, so that initial contract you sign, they unilaterally decide that well they want to up the rent. 2. During these uncertain times, this company will not care to make any exceptions. Big company(Public Storage) v. individuals, like me, facing job loss, financial uncertainties, etc, during this COVID-19 pandemic will always lead to a win for the big company. Yes, the unemployment thing should cover us if you are not working, and the $1200 stimulus check, but I dont qualify for unemployment because Im still working part time(I have bills to pay and I need to keep teaching so I dont get replaced), and I will get the stimulus check to help me when I dont have a job in about a month (Im a single mom with 3 kids) and my employer informed me I will not have any work for the summer(so for 3-4 months ill have to live off the other job i have where I make 1/4 of my income, sounds like ill be borrowing money if I can quality just to make ends meet), and I cant say no I wont work to my second job because then that job will also be threatened). I have bills, 3 kids, and I need to provide the bare essentials to my kids somehow. Id never treat anyone the way they treat their customers when they have the opportunity to rise up and help those who are in need, especially during this time created by a force majeure, they dont really care. Money talks, and they dont care what your situation is, theyll call you to remind you that if the rent for your unit isnt paid, you will get reported to the credit bureaus(I had to go out of state because I couldnt work from home and care for 3 kids by myself, so my ex husband emptied out the unit when he was able to on May 2). Theres a reason I am a teacher: because in my job, a persons situation makes a difference. My duty is to help that person because we both benefit(they can complete the course that will get them their degree and I have a job because of them). I help that person because I see them as a person, and that matters more than anything else.To them, my rent is nothing compared to what they make, but to me, its an amount that can make all the difference for myself and my children.

I never felt pressured to purchase the extras that they offer but informed what would be helpful in safely storing my items. Richard and Scott are awesome. They made getting my unit so simple and quick! the property and units are very clean, open, and lit. They even helped watch my toddler while I was getting all situated. I came in the other day with a friend of mine to possibly purchase a unit and the girl working there Leslie was very helpful and had a great attitude towards all the questions my friend kept asking. He never had a storage before and I got him to go to public storage and he was very iffy about getting a storage but she did my job for me and made him feel very comfortable about the decision. Horrible experience. Got a reservation online which says its locked in. I go to the place. Before I get out.. they call and say they sold them all. WTF is the point of a reservation. Also kept calling me to send other places far away. Dont go here they are cons. Also guy wont get the point I reserved it their not miles away from me. Also wont stop calling so I blocked him.
The entry gate code machine is still broken...had to slip in the exit.. not cool.

They went way and beyond their call of duty to make the close down of my storage locker that I have had for 2 years the most smoothest translation.All and I, I have I used this location for many years and have nothing but the best and accommodating services. A person I know rented a unit and I had put my most valued possessions in with hers after my son passed away. She up and moved away leaving me no way to get all the photos of my son and daughter growing up. I contacted them told them about my son and the photos within that same day they checked who bought the unit at auction...they got all my photos returned to me! I am not even a paying customer. That goes above and beyond I highly recommend these honest thoughtful staff and management. Thank you Public Storage staff!
The service here is awesome. I was late on my bill but Ashleigh was super sweet and sooo helpful. She went above and beyond what was expected of her and I really appreciate that. Such a great employee! There was also another Ashley that was very helpful as well. I have been to other Public Storage facilities but this one has the best customer service by far.
I visited this Public Storage facility to apply for a job, not as a customer. But my experience leaves me wanting to return as both an employee and a customer. Note that my review is from an applicants viewpoint.I was greeted and assisted by Ashley, and for the first time I was met with a company that took applicants seriously and in a helpful manner. I was provided a small wealth of information both about the hiring process and the position I was applying for. Everything I was told was clear and easy to understand. Ashley was so helpful in fact that during the phone screening there was very little I didnt already know!In comparison, other companies I have applied to have been reserved and uncaring. Also, typically information about a company is left to my own devices and time to figure out. So my experience with Public Storage was very refreshing and I hope that even if I dont get a job with them that I at least meet more company representatives that are as helpful and great as Ashley.Thank you Public Storage.

I have been a customer and fan of Public Storage for decades and have utilized their facilities across the country. Having just completed another cross-country relocation, I made long distance arrangements to rent at this Federal Way location. The manager, Ashley with co-workers Melanie, Mercedes and Ian have been very friendly and exceptionally helpful. These folks are outstanding and customer oriented. They know their stuff and they are there for you. I recommend this site for its local convenience but especially for the staff. Good job, yall!

So this is the best customer service Ive ever had. Tina, Brittany and Sarah completely helped me when I had to pack my stuff up and have movers come while I was out of state. I was so stressed and they dealt with my many calls and constant worrying. They were patient went above and beyond for my situation. These women deserve employees of the month and some raises! They are awesome at their job and this one of the most stressful moves Ive done so far and they made it effortless. So happy I picked them for my storage. Melissa and Richard made it very easy to get a new storage unit. I had to leave the other location because I needed a larger unit and the management at the location I am currently renting were not very easy to get along with. Public Storage is a much cleaner place and the people are far more friendly and helpful.
Clean and helpful. Was with this group less than a year and the rate on my outside unit was increased a rate that I considered to be unreasonable. I had little choice but to pay because of disability. New year waiting for the next shoe to drop...definitely will have to move. Everything else has increased except for my monthly living allowance.

This location is very nice. Ashley helped me pay my bill and set up auto payments with speed and accuracy. I expected to be there for at least 15 minutes, I was in & out within 2 minutes. Great customer service.
