I was on my way to see my son, so I thought I would have my vehicle serviced in Norman instead of Tulsa before I went on a mini trip. The service advisor was very nice and the technician very knowledgeable and thorough. That is the same as it is in Tulsa. I had a simple oil change, tire rotation, and cabin filter change. However, within three minutes of leaving, a tire pressure light came on. I called the dealership, and the young lady who answered told me I could come back. I asked if they checked the pressure after rotating the tires, and she said no, we don’t do that, we simply check the tires for wear and tear. When I pulled over to air up my tires. I looked at the report that said they had checked the air and all were at 35 psi. When I checked them on my own, one was at 29 psi. Obviously, someone forgot to check one of them or add air. I would simply have appreciated the young lady look into it before stating they don’t check for psi. She had a very lackadaisical attitude, and I truly expected a little more since I’m used to the customer service in Tulsa. So Tyler, to answer your question about whether Norman is better than Tulsa, I’ll let the post speak for me.
They do a great job. Very friendly. Very transparent. Maybe still true you pay more at a dealer maybe not, but with Nelson Mazda you also get a thorough video check of your car and you know the work is being done well and that they will stand behind it. Highly recommend!

Was greeted with kindness from the start. The man working with me was very articulate and straightforward about everything included in my service package. He walked me through it which I can appreciate as someone with little knowledge about cars. He further explained the system that Nelson Mazda uses where they text you a video of a full inspection of your vehicle. This video text message system is absolutely genius. At no point was anyone coercing me into spending money on extra products or services and I had a full understanding of everything going on with my car. Overall, this establishment knows how to run their business and my experience was nothing short of amazing. Highly recommend taking your vehicle here to be serviced.
Five star service, EXCEPT, I’m still waiting for a resolution on why I was charged for 6 quarts of oil during my oil/filter change, today. Clearly, Mazda states “4.8 quarts with new filter on a Mazda 2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder.”Nelson service claims it is a “Parts Department billing issue” and they are trying to correct it. It was also my understanding, based on my conversation with the Service Writer, that this has been an issue for some time. In the meanwhile, it’s up to us, the consumers, to watch for these errors. My service writer completely missed it.At $84.09 per oil change, $6.64 for an extra quart of oil isn’t going to break me. That’s not the issue. When I pull my car onto the service drive for a simple routine fluid change, I don’t expect to see charges for products or services I did not authorize. I can get this type of service elsewhere for 50-60% less.That option remains open.
I wish I could give this dealership about seventeen stars. It is the best place to buy one of the best cars in the world. They are professional, courteous, relaxed, and friendly. You can tell by their demeanor and the cleanliness of their facility that the leadership is doing a stellar job. They did me right on my trade and went the extra mile in getting me a good interest rate without any input from me at all. You deal with the same associate from start to finish, so no pushy finance department. I was there for two hours total and drove off in an awesome car and without a headache. It was by far the best experience Ive ever had buying a car. I recommend setting up an appointment and calling ahead to make sure they have the specific stock number in their inventory as I went at noon on Saturday when they were extremely busy and noticed that a couple of walk in customers were having to wait a little longer than they would have otherwise.

They are actually pretty reasonable and gave us a good deal. Our salesman was so good. I hate the paperwork process though. The salesman does everything start to finish and it takes forever. I would much rather the salesman help us find the car and then go talk to the money man to work out the deal.

I was impressed by the appearance and professionalism of the sales staff. The men (I did not encounter any women) were dressed neatly, shirttails tucked in, khaki pants, leather shoes, fresh haircuts, those with beards were precisely trimmed. There were no blue jeans or athletic shoes in the sales room. First impressions are important and Nelson Mazda Norman scored high with this retired school teacher.Jaron, the salesman was well spoken, knowledgeable about the vehicles, just humorous enough, and attentive. His attention was on the customer and not on his phone.I am pleased with my purchase and will go there for my next car as well.
Very friendly. Explained every thing they were doing, and kept in touch as I waited. Was excited when I received my car back as they had “washed” it, till I left lot, and realized the water was drying and leaving really bad dirty water spots on the hood. I checked car, and dirt was still on sides of car. Had only been sprayed down, and had to stop and wash before I left Norman for the City. Service otherwise was excellent

Don’t buy used from these guys if you’re expecting reliable service.The sales team does a nice job. Not overbearing by industry standards. We were happy with their inventory and their salesmanship. So much so that we ended up buying two used cars from them over 6 months. We knew that buying foreign would mean higher repair costs, we were ready for that. What we weren’t ready for was to be discarded if/when service issues arose. My wife’s BMW started giving her a drivetrain warning out of the blue and in spite of all the BMW’s they have in inventory, we were told by Nelson’s service dept that they have no diagnostic capabilities for anything other than Mazdas. Sorry, but in my opinion, if you’re going to sell them, and you have a “service department”, you should be able to “service” them.

Steve Woodrow sold me the used pickup I went to buy. He was funny and tried to get everything done fast and smooth. Theyre a the price is the price dealership but they price their vehicles good. At least, the ones I was previously shopping for. They wont negotiate on price, but you can haggle better interest rates. Next time Im shopping, Ill take a quick look at their inventory...

The easiest, fastest and least stressful car-buying experience ever. I got a good deal, great financing and an even better sales associate. I worked at a dealership many years ago, and I know buying a car is often full of fear and anxiety. Not here. There is no pressure to buy, and everything is clearly explained. This is not the average car dealership culture, thankfully!
I went to look at a car 3 weeks ago and as I was being helped, another car caught my eye and requested information on it. After the test drive of the first car, Nate (salesman) informed me they vehicle does not have a price due to it being missed during the insurance inspection (hail damage). I left without purchasing a car because I wanted the car without a price and could wait until they could price it. A week later I emailed about the car and got a response saying they could not find the vehicle and it seemed like they did not recall this interaction when I was there. Sent them another email and they have not responded.Went back to the dealership to look at another car and could not be helped due to how busy they were. I was able to find the car I have been emailing about on the lot and wrote down the VIN. I left my name and number with the greeter so they could call me back to schedule an appointment with the vehicles. I went home and looked on their website and found the hail damaged car on the website still listed as new on the website.Wrote another email with the VIN and have yet to receive any response from the dealership. No callback either. It feels like I am just being ignored now.

Unprofessional, uncompromising, and overall terrible experience.I called to make an appointment on a Wednesday to see a used car on Saturday 10am. I specifically told them I would be driving from Dallas 3 hours and to let me know if the car gets sold by Saturday.I call again Friday to verify it’s not sold and they tell me it’s not. On Saturday I get up at 6am to make this 3 hour trip to Norman. I try calling to verify that the care is available and they are closed. I leave an email to the salesman to call me back when possible - I get a response but no call back.Once I get there, they tell me the car isn’t even at the lot because one of the employees took it for personal use! They tell me to wait as they call him to bring it back. After telling me hour by hour that it will be there soon, it finally shows up 3 hours later! Once I see the car I notice it has much more hail damage than advertised. After I test drive it and have a mechanic check it out, I find out the engine has a small issue with it. After all of this, the stress, the excess hail damage, the time wasted (not to mention the car was dirty when they brought it)...they do not offer any price reduction to compensate. I understand they try to price fairly, but it is courtesy to compensate delays of this nature especially for someone coming out of town.At the very least, they did end up filling up our tank as some sort of way to appease us, but overall this has been the most frustrating dealer experience. About 9 hours wasted with these guys. Buyer be ware

Definitely recommend their service department. The ability to watch a video of the technician inspecting your car goes a long ways towards inspiring trust and confidence, and they even gave a complimentary car wash!
When the people who helped me did help me they were great service. But when it came down to it the time could be a whole lot better with how quick the service for customers to be in, but and get out. Other then that great service !
Not only is Mazda a friendly speedy place to take or buy your car, theyre fair priced, always respectful and kind. One of my favorite things is the video inspection they do for me. I get to see exactly what everything looks like why they would or wouldnt recommend another service. I would recommend them before anyone else.

Drove about 3 hours to view a few of the hail sale vehicles, some of the ones we wanted to see were sold, which is fine. We looked at a Jeep Wrangler which had standing water in the drivers floor and the rest of the sound deadening/carpet had been removed from the vehicle Im assuming so it could drain. We thought the price was close but being the water had covered the electrical wiring in the vehicle and excessive damage not in pictures, we thought they should move on their price. Apparently, they dont negotiate. Not even a couple hundred dollars. Wont be returning here.

They were very professional, stayed in contact with me via text giving me updates, and even texted me a video of the inspection showing me everything was okay. Theyre definitely setting themselves apart with the technology theyre using to provide this level of service which is impressive.

Although I did end up buying a car from them it was not a smooth transaction. First attempt failed because they failed too have a salesperson there for my scheduled appointment and after waiting 45 minutes I left. Second attempt went better, the sales manager ensured I had a sales manager this time. My only complaint second time was the amount of time it took to complete the sale when I had a pre-approved loan. 3 hours, most of which was spent sitting around waiting for one thing or another, to include them not knowing where the owners manual and second key were. But I did manage to finally get the car I wanted in the end.
After extensive searching, I found the perfect vehicle for me, at a great deal. Carlos was friendly and easy to work with. The whole process was streamlined and simple. Would recommend this dealership.
Pretty impressive today, they came to the house to pick up my car, dropped a new vehicle off for me to have while mine was serviced. Soon after i got a full video of the entire inspection process on my car and what was still in good condition and what was recommended service. I got to choose what i did (or did not want) serviced or added, they completed it and washed it before bringing it back.
This was the best time I had purchasing a car. Nelson Mazda isnt like other dealerships and were only concerned with what I wanted. If I said I didnt want something that was it. There was no pushy salesman that kept trying to put me in something I didnt want or add something I didnt want or need. Nate was the guy that helped me and he was great. He made the whole process quick and easy and I never had to deal with anyone else.

I bought my last two vehicles at Nelson Mazda in Norman. A 2017 Toyota Corolla June 2020, and a 2012 Mazda Miata May 2021. Both experiences were top notch. The sales team isnt pushy, never tried to upsell, and gave my lower budget interest as much attention as if I were buying a new car off their lot. Their upfront pricing has been competitive from what Ive seen. They are definitely a modern car dealership for modern times. No haggling, no BS. Just straight to business and eager to make the customer happy. If I need to replace a vehicle for a third time Nelson Mazda in Norman, OK will be at the top of my list.

The original person looking at it was unable to purchase it. Taylor (sales woman) told us we had first chance to buy the car since we had been so patient. We had made it clear we we were going to place a down payment to allow us time to make the 3 hour drive and test drive the vehicle. This was my first time buying a car and Im so glad that it was from Nelson Mazda. Nancy Perez was my sales person and she made the process very easy and honestly very fun and exciting. She was able to answer all of my questions and did a very good job of walking me through all of the paperwork without making it too long of a process. When I first looked at the car I ended up purchasing, the tint on the front window was very scratched up and made it kind of hard to see. Nancy gladly looked into it and they ended up replacing the entire windshield for me. Needless to say, I love my new vehicle and Im very happy that I was able to purchase my first car from somewhere like Nelson Mazda. They made the process easy and exciting as well as very quick. I also highly recommend Nancy, she was very sweet and extremely helpful throughout the entire process, I would gladly send any of my friends her way.

The buying experience was phenomenal. The staff was very knowledgeable about their product and extremely efficient with their walk arounds to show off the features of their cars. The whole crew is very personable while you wait and would talk with you in a relatable manner. They aren’t pushy in the slightest, they want to earn your trust to earn your business unlike most dealerships. Their prices are pretty non-negotiable, but very reasonable, and they’re willing to work with you as the middleman to get you the best APR that they can to help lower your monthly payment which helps a lot and they were patient in doing so.
Nate made my experience of buying a vehicle easy and was less stressful than I thought it would be. Very professional staff and great team.

Great service from Taylor who followed through on every aspect of our deal. They bottom dollared me on my trade, and the sell for the add on’s was pretty aggressive, but all in, it was a good experience. Taylor was very knowledgeable on the vehicle, and her after service was great. There was a component we added to the car and while the part was on back order, she would text me periodically letting me know the status. I hate buying cars because of the dealer experience, this was good.

Brought in my car for a detailing its not done well.when I moved the seats I could still see if were dust was where they should have moved the seat also left the inside dirty after it was supposedly detailed,not happy with that, also it took them four days to get a part that I told them they needed to order before I came down I gave them five days to get the part before I showed up and they did not do it.
