Fuel levels were underreported by U-Haul employees upon drop-off. I was overcharged by $75. They will liberally round up or down in their favor when reporting fuel levels in their equipment. I was not permitted to verify that their reported fuel levels were correct. Would not recommend renting from this location unless you want to give them free gas.

What an absolute joke. I reserved my truck and other equipment a MONTH in advance and they said they don’t have the equipment and I have to go to another U-Haul more than 20min away. Don’t go here.

Called ahead of time to see when they would stop selling propane. Was told 5pm. Arrived at 451pm and told that propane tanks had been turned off and no more propane would be sold that day. Very frustrating. I had called about an hour ago and made the 30 minute drive here to then be denied propane. Will not be returning.

Never answer the phone, put you on hold. When you do go in the branch, the lady attanding is always negative and talk bad about previous customers to her coworkers. You can tell they are afraid of her.

Very friendly and prompt service! I had to unhook my car which was done with ease, courteousness, and clear communication. I then returned the truck with three minutes to spare until closing and I wasn’t given any attitude. The gentleman even helped me carry blankets from the truck to my car which is above and beyond in my opinion. Thank you!

They never have someone on-site who can handle propane. They don’t answer the phone regularly, and immediately put you on hold instead of taking two seconds to answer a yes or no question.

Firstly, apologies are overrated. I submitted a negative review about an associates lack of professionalism during a recent visit. Days later, this associate calls me to apologize. Mid apology Im asked to hold briefly and I hang up. Why? Because I dont care and I did not have time for the call. This associate calls me back an additional two times. Thats weird, totally inappropriate and unnecessary.

I should have reviewed this place a week ago when I first did business with them. The guys who work here are top notch.The one guy who wants to move to NY was the first one to help me and it’s a shame to know he is moving because his customer service is top notch.But then today I dealt with Ken and let me tell you this guy is the most!Cool, calm, kind, and funny.In a business like this people need you regardless and you don’t actually have to be kind.But what this team offers is customer service at its best! Not only will I tell anyone who will listen about these guys, but I look forward to returning as a customer myself.Thanks for great service.

Wendy at this store is fantastic! I moved to NC over 6 months ago and still remember the kindness and helpfulness that she gave me while I was moving. Moving can be exhausting, and she made the process of picking up and dropping off a truck rental so seamless especially as busy as they can be during the summer. The space is tight, but theyre more than willing to help you get in or out.

Customer service at U-Haul is spotty at best. You may get a great associate or you may get a horrible associate like or some of the other reviewers on here. I called the 1-800 customer service outline to dispute my drop off location which they assigned me and was on the other side of town when I designated my drop off location on my reservation. They also threatened to charge me extra if I didnt. They then put me on hold for 20 minutes and disconnected the call. When I called back demanding to speak with a supervisor I was transferred to different departments before being hung up on again.The location on commercial avenue in particular has no space to park the trucks except on the grass. Street parking is limited depending on the day. They also dont have enough workers as it is impossible to get a hold of someone; theyll just transfer you to the national customer service line if no one from the store picks up. While U-Haul may seem convenient, I implore you to reconsider and try Penske or Budget. U-Haul is great at marketing but not at providing customer service or quality trucks. Dont be fooled by their flashy orange stickers everywhere.

Honestly speaking. The staff was friendly. However I was charged for returning the truck EARLY without USING THEIR APP. First of all, I was never told that there would be a service fee of $20 if I return “after hours”... ( and be aware, depending on your location, the hour can be different...)So here is the story, ( 2 stories actually) 1. For a 10 feet truck I rented first - they did not put a dolly in the truck per my reservation -the moment I saw no dolly there, I called the number shown on google map hoping to talk to the guy who took me to my truck so that he remembered we did not put a dolly there. But apparently the number did not get me directly to the guy at the pick up location- apparently the number directed me to a group professional custom service guys. So they said they would put a note on my order for me to waive the fee and I even emphasized it again when I returned the truck at the site and told the guy that we called the service and had a note to take the reserved ( and never-be-there) dolly off the reservation/order. Yet my receipt still came in with the dolly fee in ( I did not even look at my receipt until I saw some issue with my 2nd order- so I went back to check the first one and of course there was an issue too) 2. Upon returning the 10 feet, I picked up a 15 feet for moving my siblings with more bigger stuff. And I was never told at the site that if I return “after hour” I need to check in using their APP otherwise- $20 charge EVEN IF YOU RETURNED THE TRUCK BEFORE your reserved hours. When I tried to call the location again, I of course got directed to talk to those professional customer service guy who apparently has lots of experience dealing with this “why $20 dollars on my receipt question”, and they said it was on the piece of paper the pick up site person gave me (upper-right comer). So customers, just pay attention on these extra fees you may encounter and fees that they told you they would waive. They figured out new ways to charge you (the customer service said it was a recent thing, so BE AWARE!) I guess here is how the this new fee works - Customers don’t get reimbursed for the reminder of the hours reserved (not used) yet you got charged $20 by Uhaul for not using their app X when returning trucks when your location closes. (NEW FEE AT THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF YOUR “contract”) I am wondering if any contract nowadays is not a plot 🤐

I cannot thank Adam enough! He came by after work and helped back our 26 foot truck into a tight area so we could unload all of our boxes. THEN he came back to help get the truck back out!!! Outstanding customer service! Yes they are busy, but a great and convenient location, and they were half the price of a well know storage unit right down the street! Absolutely blown away by his kindness! Thank you!

STAY AWAY!! So this was selected as my drop off location. I drove 28 miles in total was given a quarter tank of gas and somehow they claimed it was nearly empty even though I put 5 gallons back in the truck. They tried to charge me an additional 61 dollars but I was able to get a refund once I opened a case regarding this issue.

Only one person working the office. Had to wait 30 minutes to be served since he was already helping another customer with loading/unloading a truck. There was also another customer who came in after me who also had to wait for assistance. Unacceptable! When I was finally helped, it took all of 2 minutes to complete my transaction.

Tried to reserve tow dolly online. Website tells me truck is too old (95 suburban) and trying to force me to rent their truck. I had already towed a vehicle with the same truck from a different uhaul location 2 months prior and had no trouble.

I could not have been happier with the advice and truck I rented. Their site helped hook me up with local movers to load and unload my things when I moved. All in all, they made a hard day much more relaxing than I anticipated. Ask for help if you need boxes, bubble wrap, tape. Full service store with all these items.

I had accidentally made two reservations, and the store called me to confirm which we’d like to go with. We specified and didn’t think much of it. When we came in, their system was down, which was understandable, and we sat for about 30 minutes before they took down our information on a random piece of paper, and gave us the keys saying that they would email us a contract later. No contract was received and when we came to drop off the truck in another state (after 16 hour drive), we find out that they cancelled the wrong reservation and we still had no contract. When trying to call the store we were put on another 15 minute hold. They then transferred us to a scheduling hotline and we were able to fix the issue but it was completely unnecessary to have been put in this position to begin with. Entirely unprofessional and will not be returning to U-Haul for our future moving purposes.

My husband and I rented from them on March 1. We rented a truck one way to Kentucky. Rhe truck broke down in Mt.Airy due to the transmission going out. At the time I am writing this review we still have not received our refund nor reimbursement of hotel fees. We were told that we would receive 600 for reloading another truck. The only thing they offered was the refund and partial payment for the room. We have spoken to 7 people looking for answers and they keep referring us back to this store. We also paid extra for their insurance to cover break downs!!

With my upcoming move, Ive been coming to this Uhaul for the past couple of months to purchase moving supplies. And every time Ive come in to get something, ive only experienced great customer service from every single staff that Ive come in contact with. Everyone is friendly and professional and very helpful. They even help me carry the items in my car without me asking for help. Ken and his staff truly know premier customer service. I highly recommend this place!

I had a horrible experience with Uhaul Uboxes - completely unprofessional, unorganized and set up to overcharge the customer because the local, national and call center offices are not connected. Shipping is separate from Ubox, which is separate from storage and no one manages a entires customers rentals.I had several boxes shipped from San Francisco, which were suppose to be sent to this location in Raleigh on July 16, and then I was going to move my things into a storage unit I had rented. They arrived two weeks early in a different city - Wake Forest - and I was charged a monthly storage fee for them. I didnt realize they were even here (again, in a different city) until I was charged!! Plus they were sitting out in 95 degree heat, and I have many nice paintings that will likely be affected.I could never reach someone to answer my questions. TIP: only deal with the local offices if you need boxes delivered, access, etc. The call center would say they set things up, and when they did not happen and I spoke with the local office, the local office had no notice of my reservations or conversations.A total disaster!! I would highly NOT recommend. Last, it didnt save me any money in the end. A moving company would have been so much more professional.

Total disappointment and unprofessional location. Rented a truck and left personal property, early the next morning I returned to pick it up to be told they did not have it. They proved that they search each vehicle by maintaining a lost and found. Failed to call staff member that i returned the rental to. Since a total runaround, Ill call you back no response and no care even under messages sent from corporate office. 8 days have now gone by with almost no communication or care. I rented a large Uhaul and after putting my belongings on it the roaches came from out of nowhere. I am still fuming. I didnt have them before and now Im killing one or two a day in my new place. Manager said he would reverse the charges. I havent seen the money back in my account yet and that was 8 days ago. It didnt take them that long to take the money from my account. I am still expecting the manager to be a man of his word and will wait a few more days for my money. I need it to get an exterminator.Took pictures of the critters.

Ill be coming in person to give my review. My refund of almost $1200 still hasnt came through. I thought Ken was a decent guy after months of doing business at this location. His employee Adam made a mistake (I have text message proof) I showed it to Ken, and yet he still told me that it was the systems mistake and that an employee couldnt have done it (again I have text from Adam confirming ) I go to the location to speak with Ken in person and once we couldnt reach an understanding I suggested we call corporate and get some insight from them. Ken was not interested in that and decided to give a refund... That still hasnt came thru and apparently uhaul corporate doesnt even see the refund, although I have a receipt for the refund. I was told it was invalid.

There is no parking lot, so theres no secure place to park your car. The service was slow but staff was friendly. I needed my truck for longer, and when the sales rep discovered the truck I reserved was not available for longer, the manager rent me a larger truck that was available for the same price.
